Our story starts at eight years old
"HARRY POTTER!" She winced at the name. She knew that Aunt Petunia had a large list of chores for her. She walked into the kitchen to see her Aunt. Petunia Dursley is a tall horse-faced woman with short ginger hair and a long neck where obnoxious pearls hang looking small compared to her neck.
"Yes, Aunt Petunia." She had known for years in their house that not all the chores were done. She'd get minutes added to her beatings; the hacking of her ribs hadn't gone down from the last one she got a few days ago.
"You know what to do, boy." She winched at the name. She hated the word, she hated how it connected her to this house. How her aunt said that he caused her parents ' deaths in a car crash.
After the Duersely felt leaving her alone as she got to work. Cleaning the dishes, dusting the obnoxious amount ofpictures of her cousin on the walls, and polishing the silverware. And finally cleaning the attic. She had gotten into a coughing fit at the dust that spilled. She had to vacuum the dust after she was done.
Climbing the old creaking wooden steps. She stepped into the old attic and began cleaning it of dust. She moved a few boxes until something caught her eye. It was a large chest, shut with a clasp. Her curiosity took over her as walked towards it. She gaped at the lab atop it.
"Lily and her baster's nonsense stuff." She thought her aunt got rid of everything connected to her mother when she was just a baby. But still this still could be the last remaining items she had form her parents.
Opening the chest was hard with the heavy lid. She peaked inside and found dozens of books. Book of Charms, The Standard Book of Spells (Grade One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six and Seven), Beginner's Guide to Transfiguration, Theories of Transubstantial Transfiguration,Transformation Through the Ages. There where more stuffed inside.
All the books had strange titles. But one caught her eye, it had smooth leather cover with a red ribbon attached as a book mark. Opening it she begane to read the contents.
"Our little one is going to born soon, James is practically a nervous wreak." Her breathed hitched, James was her father's name. "He's been chastising protection wards around the house that it'll become impenetrable soon. He may seem overconfident somtimes but he's nervous reck deep down. I've began drafting our wills in this journal. The war is coming to an end at this point. But I fear Voldemort will find us, so I the event that James and I do not live. I ask that our wills be followed as such.
All of our wizarding belongs will so to our child (Me and James have decised if our child were to be a boy we shall name him Harry after my grandfather. But if it is a girl we shall name her Roselyn, James was determined to that if we have girl he wants her name to have Rose in so he can purely call her his little Rosebud.) Will inherit 70% of assets and all of the Potter family money. The left over assets will be split to Sirus Orion Black, Remus Lupin, and Peter Pettigrew.
UNDER NO CERCUMSTANCE SHOULD OUR CHILD BE PLACED UNDER PATUNIA EVEN DURSELY!.
James is helping sort out the official paper work. But I fear for my child's life. War changes people, and I fear that the spy for Voldemort will give the dark lord our location. However I have hope that my child will have happy home and live
I sign off now
Lily Potter."
Roselyn, that would have been her name if she were born a girl. Rosebud would have been a nickname from her father. Emerld eyes water and tears drip down her face. Landing softly on the page. Her parent's never wanted this for her. They cared for her, they loved her, and it seems like they died protecting her.
Rose couldn't make heads or tails of the titles but these were her parents. And she would make it her mission to understand the lesson they told.
She quickly got the rest of her chores done and begane hulling as many books as she can into her cubberd. She got about a thrid of the books into her cubberd before her relatives got home. Roselyn spent the next few day's reading her mother's journal along with hulling the rest of chest's books into her "room"
Rose even found a journal her father wrote in, reading it she found out the James Potter was a prankster. Reading a stories of his pranks brought laughter to her as some of them where really funny (She wondered is she could pull some of them on Dursely).
She also learned that her father was into music. In the back of his journal was sheet music he was writting. Songs he sang and played for her and her mother. Ms. Figg her neighber across the street had an old piano, that she barley played.
Rose would hide in Ms. Figg's home learning the piano, and playing some of her father's songs. Ms. Figg was huge support in her life. She supported her transition. On her ninth birthday she given Rose a white headband with a rose embroidered onto it.
Years went by like this, Roselyn would wake up cook breakfast for her relatives, do the chores assigned to her, and spend the rest of the day in Ms. Figg's home playing the piano and learning her father's songs.
Learning how to read and write songs herself. At night she would read the books left by her parent's. All the information seems like magic, talking about transforming a matchstck to a needle, steps on how to make a potions with all sorts of effects, and but the most fascinating was Hogwarts: A History.
From the book Roselyn learned that her parents knew magic and they went to school for it (Maybe that's why the Dursly's were so mean to her). And I seems like that she may be able to go when she's eleven.
Rose just needs to wait for the day she turns eleven, then she could go to Hogwarts. Now it was just the waiting game.
