Chapter 58

Harry was sitting on Luna's bed, waiting for her to come out of the bathroom. He felt the nervousness in the pit of his stomach. That morning, he had told her he loved her, and she had said the same. The moment had been special and sweet, but now, with the babies asleep and the two of them alone, he wanted to tell her everything he had been holding in his heart for months, even before he realized that he truly loved her.

When the bathroom door opened, Harry lifted his eyes and saw Luna step out in her white pajamas, which gave her an innocent air.

"Looking like that, you look like a fairy," he smiled at her as she stopped at the door, surprised to find him sitting there.

"Come here," he called, extending his hand to her.

Luna walked toward him and took his hand without hesitation. Harry gently pulled her onto his lap, and she sat down, wrapping her arms around his neck. Momentarily distracted by her warmth and her intoxicating scent, Harry kissed her slowly. When they pulled away, both of them were smiling goofily.

"Were you waiting for that?" Luna smiled, not the least bit unsatisfied.

Harry laughed and stole another quick kiss. "Although it was a great idea, no, that wasn't the reason."

Luna just waited, a slight smile on her lips, her eyes focused on him.

Harry grew more serious, but his arms wrapped around her waist, keeping her on his lap.

"I've never been very good at talking about my feelings, in fact, I wasn't good at understanding them either," he spoke in a self-deprecating way, making Luna kiss his cheek in support. He smiled briefly.

"But with you, it's always been different," he continued, lifting his hand to brush a lock of her hair from her face, tucking it behind her ear. "With you, I've always somehow been understood, even when I didn't have the words. You understand me better than anyone, and that’s always been something meaningful to me. It’s something I’ve kept in my heart. I’ve kept you in my heart."

She smiled softly, and so did he. Luna stayed silent, realizing he still had more to say, but at no moment did they break eye contact.

"So, you asked me if I loved you, and I said you were my friend. But when you told me you were pregnant, I remember thinking that the baby had been conceived by the love of two friends, but it could be something more. Because you've always been kept in my heart in a place no one else has ever been."

"When I saw you at Hogwarts, I felt a fear that, despite everything I had gone through, I had never felt before. I didn’t just want the baby away from there, I also wanted you," Harry took a deep breath to contain the emotion he felt as he opened his heart to her. "When I was hit by Voldemort in the forest, the last thing I saw before closing my eyes was you smiling at me, and a baby with black hair and silver eyes."

Harry saw her eyes fill with tears, so he gently stroked her face, tracing her features softly with his fingertips.

"You were the only one who could pull me out of that deep depression. I don't think I ever thanked you enough." He kissed her lips softly.

"You did the same for me," she whispered, returning his kiss.

"When you fell and I took you to the hospital, seeing you faint in my arms..." His eyes filled with tears. "Not even walking to my death in the forest made me feel such fear. I don’t know what would have become of me if I had lost you, if I had lost all three of you." Luna placed her hand on his face and lovingly pushed his hair from his forehead.

"After we moved in together, every day with you was wonderful. I loved your company, the way we got along so well, how light everything felt, how being with you made my heart happy. How sleeping beside you was the most intimate and comforting thing I’ve ever had with another person."

Harry paused, gathering his thoughts. "I was in a relationship that, for a brief moment, made me happy, but it was nothing more than an idealization, a desperate search for normality. But after the war, it didn’t make sense anymore. I was wrong to hold onto it for so long. I clung to guilt and cooperated in making her and me suffer." He looked at her with a mix of shyness and shame. "On most days, I compared that relationship with the one I had with you and how I couldn’t have the connection with her that I’ve always had with you. I silently felt jealous of you and had to fight every day against my excitement seeing you without clothes." He lowered his eyes, feeling ashamed to confess this to her, but he was willing to open up completely.

Luna held his chin and lifted his face until their eyes met. "It’s okay, Harry," she said gently, kissing the tip of his nose, making him laugh a little. There was no point in holding on to negative feelings about something that had already passed and that he had fought against.

"So we ended up together," he smiled. "Luna, I’ve never received many gentle touches, so I was never someone who felt comfortable being touched or touching other people, you know that." She nodded in agreement. "But with you, it was different. I loved… I love touching you and being touched by you. Everything we did, I loved, and it wasn’t just because I had never had sex before you, it was because I loved doing it WITH YOU."

Luna's cheeks turned pink, and so did his.

"I had such different feelings toward you, feelings I didn't understand. Sometimes so deep they scared me." He gave her a sad smile, knowing it would lead them into a painful moment, but Luna just kept looking at him with affection. "When I was confronted with what I felt for you, I was afraid. I couldn't explain it. I became so confused, confused in recognizing what I felt."

He began to stroke her hair, trying to ease the pain of those memories.

"When I left, I felt like I was dying a little. Most days it was hard to breathe; I would just sit in silence all day, missing you." His eyes filled with tears, and he wiped away a tear that fell from Luna's right eye. "Even then, I was so deeply traumatized by the way I had lived up until that point, that even with all these feelings I had about you, I still didn't know what I was feeling."

His voice grew shakier. "The mental healer once told me that growing up without love made it hard to recognize it when I encountered it." A tear slid from his eyes, making him take a deep breath and press his lips to hers, just to breathe for a moment and calm down. Her delicate fingers in his hair helped him relax. "And that was what was happening to me. What I felt for you was so deep, something I had never felt before, so I didn't know how to recognize it. But when I realized, it wasn't like I suddenly started loving you at that moment, I felt like I had loved you for many years. Every little detail of what we went through together, since I met you, was a root in my heart, a root of many that loving you represents."

He took a deep breath and smiled, seeing her smile at him. His heart raced. "I'm saying all of this to tell you, Luna Lovegood, that I love you. I've loved you for a long time, I love you like I've never loved anyone, I love you because you're the best person I know, you're kind, sweet, smart, funny, understanding, sensitive, strong, and beautiful—so beautiful." Luna laughed, tears falling from her eyes. Harry kissed each one, then continued. "I love you for you, for everything you've always meant to me: a safe harbor. And now I also love you because you gave us the most precious thing in our lives, our children. I love you because you're an amazing mother, I love you because we four are something I never had and thought I never would have: a family."

Harry leaned in and very slowly kissed her again, their tears mixing together. The kiss contained all the love they had for each other. It was gentle, yet deep, and they only pulled away when they could no longer breathe. Luna rested her head on his shoulder, and he held her in his arms.

"This is your place, Lu. In my arms," he whispered as if sharing a secret, and he felt Luna nodding in agreement.

After a few minutes of just enjoying the warmth of each other's arms, Luna lifted her face from his shoulder and looked into his eyes with love overflowing in her bright eyes.

"I want to engrave every word of what you said in my heart because each one of them meant the world to me. Some parts of me were healed by hearing them. Thank you for opening your heart to me." She kissed his lips softly and quickly.

"Nothing I can say now will compare." They both laughed. "But I think you deserve to know that I've loved you since I met you. My heart was already yours, even before it was. And I never stopped loving you all this time. To me, you are the meaning of everything that's good in the world. You are my friend, my confidant, you're the one who brings hope to my life. I want you to feel loved every day, and I'll make sure of that. In this family, YOUR FAMILY, you are loved. You are loved because you are my Harry, kind, loving, caring, dedicated, funny, and handsome." She rubbed her nose against his lovingly, and he smiled with his eyes shining with tears. "You are loved because you are the father of Albus and James. They love you, not because you're Harry Potter, but because you're just their daddy, who feeds them, gives them baths, puts them to sleep, hugs, kisses, and takes care of them."

"I love you, with everything in me. I love your past, I love your present, and I have no doubt I will love your future. You are mine… ours… This is your place." She hugged him tightly.

Harry clung to her, trying to convey all the emotion her words had caused.

When they looked at each other again, there was a mixture of warmth and something deep, beyond what words could say.

Luna leaned towards Harry and kissed him. The kiss carried so much feeling and desire that they both felt it all over their bodies. Harry slipped his hand into her hair and held her neck as he deepened the kiss. The kiss gradually grew into something intense and strong. When they both broke apart, searching for air, their eyes met with fire.

Luna got off Harry's lap and before he could complain about missing her, she briefly lifted her nightgown and sat back down on his lap, only this time she mounted him, one leg on each side. The two kissed again with compassion, Luna biting Harry's lip, making him moan. His hands went down her back and stopped at her ass. Harry squeezed her ass and pressed against her obvious arousal, making them both moan into each other's mouths.

Harry lowered his kiss to her neck, making Luna shiver and rub against him more.

“How far do you want to go, love?” he asked in her ear, his voice husky with desire, making Luna shiver with excitement and love at hearing the affectionate nickname he had called her for the first time.

Despite his unbridled desire, Harry didn't want to cross any boundaries and cause her flashbacks.

His heart raced when she pulled away and looked into his eyes with palpable intensity. “Everything. With you I want everything.”

Harry looked at her with the same intensity. “Fuck, I don't think my love for you is going to stop growing.” He didn't let her answer, kissing her hard again.

They both missed each other's bodies. But above all, this moment was permeated by something new, something powerful, but at the same time vulnerable. They were both still dressed, but tonight they had already undressed. Their souls were as naked as they had ever been, so the intensity and desire they felt was something they had never experienced before.

Harry put his hand on the hem of her sweater and pulled. Luna raised her arms, helping him take it all off. She sat on him in just her panties and bra.

Harry saw Luna look down at her nursing bra with rosy cheeks.

“You're so beautiful, Luna.” He said, looking into her eyes, so that she would understand that she was no less sexy because of the bra. Then he brought his hands to the clasp and opened it, slipping it down her arms and taking it off completely.

Luna smiled and pulled his shirt over his head.

Harry turned Luna over and laid her on her back on the bed. He gently put his hand into her panties and looked at her, who nodded in permission. Harry took off her panties and stood, looking at her lying there with her hair down and completely naked.

“I've missed seeing you so much. You're beautiful.”

Luna smiled shyly.

“I want to see you too.” She spoke softly, but her eyes roamed his body with desire.

Harry pulled down his pajama pants and underwear. Then he stood naked in front of her.

Luna looked at him with desire, then held out a hand calling him. Harry took her hand and climbed onto the bed beside her. He kissed her lovingly, running his hand down her body in a caress, as if he wanted to record her every curve. Slowly, his hand ran down her thigh, until it stopped between her legs. Their lips never parted as he gently ran his fingers down her center, making her moan into his mouth. Luna spread her legs wider, letting him plunge two fingers inside her.

Harry continued kissing her, while his fingers moved in and out of her at a slow pace, but one that was pushing her over the edge by the way she pressed herself against him and kissed him harder.

A few minutes later, Luna moaned loudly, closing her legs around his hand as her body trembled and her kissing became sloppy. When her orgasm passed, she lay with her eyes closed, gasping for air, but with a soft smile on her lips. Harry looked at her, finding her red cheeks and soft smile beautiful.

She opened her eyes and smiled at him. Then she pulled him on top of her and kissed him hard, as their bodies met and they savored the deliciousness of their skins touching. She spread her legs, wrapping them around his waist.

“I want you inside me, Harry.” She whispered in his ear, making him shiver.

Her hand guided him to her entrance and they both moaned as he slowly entered her.

The moonlight shone through the window, Harry lying on top of her, in a position they hadn't experienced before, because of their bellies, but which made them feel closer. Luna ran her hand down his back, while one of his supporting hands smoothed her hair. There was nothing frantic, they slid together slowly and smoothly for an hour, between kisses, moans and many “I love yous” said gently in her ear. All Harry could think about was how lucky he was to be doing this with the most incredible woman he'd ever met. When they were already overwhelmed by their feelings and sensations, they finally came in a wave of pleasure, hugging each other tightly until they were completely relaxed.

Harry rolled onto his side and brought her with him, almost laying her completely on top of his body.

Harry brushed her hair out of her face and gently traced her delicate eyebrow and small nose, while Luna smiled serenely.

"I never knew it was possible to feel something so deep," he confessed, looking at her tenderly. "I love you so much."

"I love you a lot too." She kissed his chest and snuggled closer to him.

The two lay together for a long time until they heard a soft cry coming from one of the babies.

"I'll go check," Luna said, getting up and putting on a robe, leaving the room barefoot with her hair messy.

A while later, Harry got up, put on his pajama pants, and went to the babies' room. Luna was standing in front of the crib, watching them sleep.

"Did they go back to sleep?" Harry asked softly, stopping behind Luna and wrapping his arms around her.

"Yes, only Albus cried a little, but he went back to sleep soon after." She snuggled into his arms and placed her hands over his.

They both stood in silence, comfortable in being together, watching their children sleep peacefully in their colorful little clothes, their tiny chests rising and falling in a calm rhythm. The silence between them wasn’t empty, but full of meaning. Harry and Luna shared something beyond words. There, in that moment of peace, love felt tangible — a force that connected them, not just to each other, but also to the two small beings they had brought into the world.

It was a love that required effort and courage, that came with its own challenges, but was also extraordinarily rewarding. They knew they still had a long way to go, both individually and as a couple. The traumas of the past didn’t disappear easily, but together, with the help of their mental healers, they would learn that they deserved love, that the past didn’t define them. They would learn to communicate, to trust, and to rebuild. The journey wasn’t perfect, but it was full of hope — the hope that, with love and effort, they could create not only a family but also a life that was truly theirs, full and authentic.
