Chapter 2
Tom stared viciously at the old man. He was dressed like a clown. Was he here to take Tom to a circus?...
Absolutely not. Tom completely refused to be made into a circus attraction or anything similar. If there's one thing he's not, it's a freak, and Tom wouldn't let anyone treat him like that.
So he decided to sit there and stare at the old man. Hopefully he'd think Tom is actually a freak and leave.
The man cleared his throat, "Erhm... My name is Albus Dumbledore, and I assume you're Tom Riddle?"
Tom didn't answer.
Dumbledore was quite the ridiculous name, Tom thought, so maybe it was fake?
"I'm not sure you will believe me, but I'm the headmaster of a magical school called Hogwarts, and you're a student."
Magical? Magical?
Tom couldn't keep shut anymore, "What?"
Dumbledore smiled, "You're a wizard, Tom."
Tom quickly felt like his eyes were bulging out of his skull, so he took a deep breath and tried to go back to his calmer state earlier.
"So the things I can do are actually–"
Dumbledore nodded, "It's all magic. And now you have the chance to learn more about said magic at Hogwarts."
Tom once gave offerings to Philotes the goddess of friendship and affection. He prayed to her, and asked to be able to meet more people like him. People he could be... Friends with.
That goddess in specific had never answered his prayers it seemed.
So Tom gave up on it. He accepted the fact that he'd never get to experience something like friendship, so he decided to call it silly and simply ignore it.
But if what this old man was saying was true, that meant that Tom could maybe get to fulfill this desire of his.
He didn't dare to display his happiness to Dumbledore tho. Tom didn't feel like he could trust the man one whiff, so he decided to keep the blank face.
But even tho Tom didn't trust the man, he couldn't help his curiosity, and right now, his biggest curiosity was...
"Was magic given by Hecate?"
Dumbledore blinked, "Who?"
Ah. I suppose that answers my questions.
