Back To Rural
After he woke up from his nap, Seonghwa went about considering his next move.
Which was to silently freak out for at least the first day or two of the chaos of the new world he was to live in. But he seemed to be able to do is freak out in silence. But after he calmed down, he began to actually think of what he was going to do from here on. He sighed softly, even as he looked at the framed pictures of his family. He wasn't sure if they were alive or not. He had moved to the city alone, hoping to make a decent career. He was a male omega, after all. He had hoped for a makeup or fashion career. He did get his Youtube channel going. But that hadn't been what he was hoping for.
After thinking about some of his choices, Seonghwa knew he'd have to be smarter than he had been up to that point. So after looking at the images of his family a moment or tow more, he nodded. To himself, of course. He was alone. It was time, he went home. As in, back to the more rural sections of Korea. From what he knew of zombie shows and movies, it was safer in the more rural areas for the first year or two. After that, it was anyone's guess. Really.
With his freak out period finally subsiding, he could now focus better on what he'd do from henceforth. He knew it was about surviving as best he could. Against both zombies, and psychotic wolves. He knew as a male omega, he'd be seen as something to get and use and abuse as they all saw fit. He had more worth than that. He knew that for certain. And he knew his return to his rural home area would help him survive better.
With a plan and direction to head in, Seonghwa knew what to do. He searched his entire apartment for an appropriate backpack. He knew it was necessary for what he was hoping to do. He was going to take a slightly different route from most other survivors. Upon finding a decent backpack, Seonghwa then went through his entire unit and began to pack plenty of food. After stuffing his backpack full of food, he then went ahead and packed his medical supplies with his food. He knew they'd be important.
After that, he packed some clothing.
He knew how important clothing would be as a male omega. After all, omegas had difficulty retaining their body heat. He'd get too cold too fast. And while an alpha would be ideal, he wasn't sure he should get cozy with an alpha any time soon. They'd have to earn his trust. And treat him well. Not a a bed ornament nor a breeding machine. Plus, he wasn't sure if any would be the mate he had hoped to find one day. So for now, packing some spare clothing to keep warm would be nice. Especially without electricity. He knew how cold the rural sections of Korea could get.
But he knew it would be worth it for his continued survival.
With a destination in mind and a plan more or less pulled together, he knew it was time to return home. He could have stopped by any and all of the other unit sin his complex for more food and supplies. He sort of knew it was a logical step. But he wasn't willing to risk the higher up units. Plus, he hadn't been able to find a weapon to defend himself with. And he had tried. While he hadn't been big on watching the shows and movies, he understood their premise. And he knew some of the basic survival rules. But unlike most in those shows and movies, he knew how to fucking grow his own food.
He knew he'd be fine.
Before he fully left his unit, he made sure to pack his map and compass. He wanted to make sure he headed in the correct direction. He was traveling by foot, after all. No cars. He wasn't that naive or stupid on such subjects as the end of the world.
Here was hoping he got to his family's home before anyone else did.
//
With a direction in mind and his backpack ready, Seonghwa made a final ditch effort to find a weapon to protect himself.
He'd have to get used to killing and all the blood and sounds that went with it. He supposed no time like the present to start growing used to it. He opened the cupboards and came face to face, with his cooking ware. Namely pots and pans. He grimaced, frowning profusely. Well, better this than going out without any weapon to speak of. With his mind made up, his hand curled around the handle of his biggest pan. He pulled it out silently, and tested it in his grip. It would do, for now. Hopefully it would last him until he could find something better.
Or made it home.
Or both, if he was lucky. Which he wanted to consider he was. Given he had made it home to his apartment unit in one piece on day zero. With a weapon in hand, Seonghwa knew it was time he braved this new and terrifying world. And to leave his world of makeup and fashion behind. After grabbing his backpack and taking a deep breath, he let it out as he stood before his sealed door.
Time to face the new world.
And to get to his old rural life.
Even if he got there and he was alone. He took in a deep breath, and slowly let it out. Putting a fierce huntress expression on. He turned the lock and carefully and silently opened the door. He knew being as quiet as possible would be his best bet. He carefully peered out and looked up and down the still and silent hallways. Empty. He tried to listen for any shuffling, but he was having trouble. His heart pounding in his ears. He let out a very silent sigh, and slowly crept his way from his cleared out unit. He then made for the emergency stairs to get out of the building. Fuck the other units, he wasn't risking it this early on.
He made it to the stairs without incident. Now he just had to brave going down them, and getting to the lobby. And ultimately, out of the building for his journey home. Just as his hand reached the knob for the door to the stairs, he went stiff. His neck hairs stood on end, and his ears flickered dangerously. Groaning and moaning came from behind him. Well, shit. His grip on the pan tightened, and he slowly turned around to face the zombie that also noticed him. Well fuck. Um, time to be a brave warrioress. The zombie gave a wet growl as it made its way towards him. Seonghwa braced his feet apart, and wound his other hand around the pan's handle. He waited, holding his breath. He might faint from this, but that was okay. If he died doing this, at least he won't have to suffer in any regard.
Once the zombie was on him, Seonghwa brought the pan down. Repeatedly. The squelching sound he tried to ignore. He heaved heavily, even as the zombie slumped to the ground. Seonghwa continued to beat its brains in until he was certain it was gone for good. He then tried his best to not faint. Or throw up. The stench was awful, so was the sight. And the sounds.
Gods he hated it.
But he hoped he got used to it fairly quickly in order to survive.
With his first kill done and his ability to muscle his way through it, he turned and entered the stairway. He could hear another further up. But he was so close to the lobby/main floor, he didn't really consider it a threat. He did make quick work going down to the lobby, though. Just to make sure he could get the fuck out of the building alive.
Thank the gods there were no more between him and the exit.
//
Just as he had in his unit, Seonghwa slowly and carefully made his way from his apartment unit.
He checked to see that there weren't any zombies too nearby to get to him right away. Worked perfectly for him. He hurried his way to the alleyway. Avoid the massive amounts of zombies as best he could. Once there, he was quick to pull the map from one of his pockets he'd stuffed it in. With silent breathing and quick searching, Seonghwa found the direction he needed to head in. After whipping the compass out, he turned to head in the direction he needed to head in.
And with quick yet still silent steps, Seonghwa began his journey from the city he was in. He would pause at intersections of his alleyway excursion. Mostly to check he could make it out alive. When he was certain, he would hurry on his way. Despite wanting to get out of the city and head home, Seonghwa knew time was of the importance. He had to get to the edge of the city by sunset. He just knew night was too dangerous at the moment to risk being out during it. He'd have to find a place to settle down for the night at that point.
At least he was making good progress.
He made sure to keep plenty of distance between him and zombies. But the closer he got to the edge of the city, the fewer he saw. Good. That was all a good thing. Good sign. It meat he had higher chances of getting out alive.
Upon reaching the edge of the city, Seonghwa let out a small sigh of relief. He squared his shoulders, and stepped out more boldly. He was going home. no matter what. He would make sure to keep aware of his surroundings, and make sure he headed in the correct direction for home. And to be honest, he had missed it. He wouldn't mind getting his fingers dirty with planting his own crops again. He'd always had a green thumb. He knew it would take him a few days to reach his family's home. Probably long abandoned by now. He would have to duck in to any and all safe houses he came across during the night so he could sleep safe and sound. Hopefully, he could make it home without being found.
By either living, or dead.
He wasn't sure what the future had in store for him. He'd have to play it all by ear and hope he survived every single day. He'd adjust to zombie killing. And he'd have to make it extremely hard to earn his trust. He couldn't be a soft and or soft spoken trusting omega anymore. He had to toughen up and harden up. He was a male omega, after all. He knew he could be fierce, if given the chance. He supposed this new world was his chance to prove it to everyone. Including himself. He had a destination in mind. A direction he was headed in. And a new determination to survive and be a different omega.
Would he ever soften up for a pack or mate?
Maybe.
It all truly depended, he supposed.
With that thought, Seonghwa turned his back on the city fully. Time for a jaunt into the unknown. To head into a mysterious future. One he'd have to enter with extreme caution to survive.
And it was time, to head home.
