There was a moment where Aya had frozen, her lips still against Mitsukis, but wary to not make another move too fast. Mitsuki thought her mind would be going a million miles a minute, but instead, she couldn't even think quick enough to close her eyes before Aya pulled away.

Immediately, her eyes locked with Ayas, then flicked down to the girl's lips. Her lip gloss lingered now on the guitarist's lips. It was ever so slightly sweet. Mitsuki knew then that she would never be able to eat a strawberry again without getting a little weak in the knees.

Mitsuki felt momentarily like she was frozen in time. The only thing that was drawing her back was soft breaths leaving Ayas slightly parted lips. Mitsukis eyelids fluttered for a moment before she moved a hand up to hold the nape of Aya's neck and pull her into another kiss. She heard the slight gasp of surprise from Aya, feeling her tense up momentarily. But before Mitsuki could pull away, Aya was already melting into the kiss. Mitsukis left hand wrapped around Ayas waist, her hand resting on her lower back.

Mitsuki had never kissed anyone before this. She didn't know what to do with her hands, she didn't know if she was supposed to be still or move at all, so she found herself combining both. Her left hand splayed out along Ayas lower back, making the pink haired girl shiver a bit. Mitsuki was a bit nervous about that at first but Aya seemed to be leaning more eagerly into the kiss now, so she took it as a good thing.

How were people supposed to even think during kisses? Her mind was both spinning and crashing around and also so blank and still at the same time. Mitsuki ran her thumb gently along Aya's jawline and cheek and she felt the girl melt into the touch. Every little touch and movement somehow felt more complicated than any barre chord the guitarist had ever played.

Aya's palms flattened out along Mitsukis shoulders, making the darker haired girl shiver a bit. Her fingers absentmindedly wrapped into Aya's hair, earning a gasp from her. Mitsuki smiled a bit into the kiss. Even through all of this, she couldn't help but be… relieved, and a bit amused.

Here they were, hands in hair, bodies pressed together, lips against lips, closer than ever before. After so long of wanting and waiting and thinking… here they were. Mitsuki had thought about this moment. Not constantly, but of course the idea came to mind. And out of every single thought, every scenario, everything she dared to think about… this seemed so much better.

Mitsuki didn't even know how long they'd been there until Aya pulled back hesitantly to take a breath. Mitsukis eyes fluttered open to meet Aya's flushed face and slightly parted lips. Her lips gloss was smudged ever so slightly, and Mitsuki felt a bit of pride in that. They say there, looking at each other. The pause was probably long enough for an entire improv drum solo of their staggered breathing.

Until Mitsuki laughed.

Relief, happiness, pure amusement at the moment… whatever reason it was… it was all she could do. Aya looked at her, wide eyes and cheeks lightly flushed, a hint of confusion on her face. Mitsuki peeked down at her through smile-squinted eyes.

“It really was-” She mumbled around laughter. “Just like I expected!-” She smiled. Aya's face burned a pink color, spreading along her face like her freckles. Mitsukis smile grew even more. She looked so pretty when she was flustered.

“Hey!-” Aya sputtered, her eyes darting frantically along Mitsukis face as she pointed at her. “What was that!?-” Mitsuki only laughed more, their position reminding her back to the time in her bedroom, Ayas silent tears falling down her cheek, and Mitsuki wiping them away. Aya freaked out back then just like she did now. Mitsukis laugh softened into a smile. This really was the girl she fell in love with. The girl she wrote music for. The girl she wanted to be with forever.

Her hand cupped Aya's cheek and she planted a soft kiss on the girl's forehead.

Aya would forever be her favorite song.
