Cruel Summer
Hermione looked over her notes again, making sure she had everything. Bill stood just behind her, hands rubbing soothingly over her shoulders.
”It’ll be fine.” He whispered, leaning down to press a kiss to her temple.
”Something just isn’t right about any of this. You said The Order has Aurors in it. Which means they know Sirius is innocent. Which means they’ve been able to talk to him and get the full story from him. So, why not get his name cleared? It just doesn’t make sense.” She muttered, tapping her papers against her desk to organize them.
”I’m not sure, but let’s just talk to Ted first and go from there. Besides, Fudge should not have discredited three eye witnesses.”
”Snape.” Hermione responded off-handedly, as she stood and pulled her shoes on and grabbed her bag.
Bill watched Hermione walk around her room. After a moment he finally pulled her to a stop and held her tightly against him.
”Take a breath.” He whispered. Her chest rose and pressed more fully against him, before she exhaled and rested her head against his chest. “Everything will work out.” He whispered, his hand running up and down her back soothingly. “We got this.”
After a moment, he felt her nod. Tilting her head up by her chin, he pressed a soft, soothing kiss to her lips. “Alright.” She breathed.
Bill apparated them to Ted Tonk’s house. A woman with curly black hair answered the door, and escorted them to a study. Ted was sat behind a desk, going over papers when they walked in.
”Hello.” He greeted them with a smile. “So, what can I do for you?”
“What do you know about the Sirius Black case?” Hermione asked, coming out strong.
Ted glanced between the two, before settling on his wife. “Not much. Why?”
”Sirius wasn’t given a trial.” Hermione stated, pulling out her papers and walking over to Ted to hand them to him. “If he did, he would have been cleared for what he’s being accused of doing. When Sirius was spotted at Hogwarts, there are three eye witnesses that are willing to testify to the fact that Peter Pettigrew is alive, and framed Sirius.”
A silence settled over the room. The only sound being the rustle of paper as Ted looked through her notes. “What will you have me do?” He finally asked.
”You have to power to get the case reopened. In fact, Dumbledore knows Sirius is innocent and very well could clear Sirius, but refuses to. So, as a lawyer, you have the power to get this checked out. I’ll even give you my memory of the night where I saw Sirius Black and Peter Pettigrew in the same room. It hasn’t been altered or tampered with. I wasn’t confounded or cursed. There isn’t any discoloration or gaps within the memory.”
Ted stood, wand in hand, and nodded his head. “Think of the memory, bring it to the surface. Think of every detail you can remember from that night. I’ll extract the memory.”
It took a moment, but Ted successfully extracted the memory and bottled it; While Bill helped Hermione settle into a chair. He wanted nothing more than run his hands over her, to check her over properly, but couldn’t. “I’ll write to you once I’ve asked around, and had a friend of mine reopen the case.” Ted stated firmly.
Bill and Hermione were escorted back to the front door. The moment they were outside, Bill apparated them back to her house. After calling out and making sure her parents hadn’t come back early, Bill waisted no time and gathering her in his arms and kissing her for all she was worth. He guided her towards the couch, and followed her down to cover her body. As his tongue explored her mouth, lips locked in a heated battle for dominance, his hands roved over her body. Slowly inching his way to the edge of her shirt and slipping beneath it. He swallowed her moan as his hand made contact with the skin of her stomach. It only encouraged him for his hand to slink further up and cup one of her breasts in his palm, squeezing it gently, experimentally. Hermione broke the kiss to groan and arch her back.
”Bill.” She groaned.
He grinned as his lips moved to press against her neck, kissing and nibbling at the skin. Adding more love bites to her growing collection. “My Girl.” He breathed, trailing lower and lower. “I want to ravish you. You were so fucking sexy today. Your bossy attitude made me want to pull you into me and kiss you in front of them so badly.” He blew gently on her stomach, causing her to shiver and goosebumps to appear. His tongue licking a long stripe just above the waist of her jeans. A moan breaking free from her lips, as he groaned against her.
They continued to explore each others bodies, but Bill was in no rush to do anything more than kissing. Even though Hermione was desperate to take it a step further, as she straddled him and pushed down on him whenever she got a chance. Even though it had only been three weeks since school was out, and a month since that kiss on the Alcove, he wanted to take his time with her. To love her properly. Soon, Bill had to leave. Leaving a saddened Hermione. He promised to come back tomorrow if he’s able to sneak away.
Two days later, Hermione got a letter from Ted. An official investigation had been declared on why Sirius Black has a Kiss on Sight order, without any sort of trial or evidence stating he had even done the crime. She immediately sent a letter to Bill, but reminded him to stay quiet about it to everyone else.
