So It Goes…
It started with a single letter.
It wasn’t romantic, far from it actually, but that’s how it started. She sent the letter since he offered to answer any questions she had, no judgment. Even though most people offer the same thing, they still tend to judge. Over a letter, it’s safer to ask her questions. It’s safe since she doesn’t have to watch the pity flash over their eyes as if she asked something basic, that she should know the answer already. Bill answers every question she asks, and offers more information than others would when dealing with her. He doesn’t question her when she asks about certain situations in hypotheticals. He cautions her to be careful, but otherwise doesn’t question her. Over the year, they moved away from just questions and began to just write to each other. He quickly became one of the most important people in her life. That quickly turned into a crush that wouldn’t die. So, when the final task came to a head, and Bill Weasley appeared with his mother she wanted nothing more than to converse with him. However, Mrs. Weasley made her feelings towards Hermione clear. She was unwelcome.
“Hermione, is everything alright?” Bill asked as he shuffled away from his family to talk to her.
”Of course. I told you about Skitter’s articles.” She waved her hand in a knowing gesture, before fiddling with the bracelet he had gotten her for Christmas.
“Yes, but it’s all rubbish.” Bill stated.
”Yes, well, your mother believes it.” At the furious look that crossed his face, she quickly went on. “Bill, it’s fine. I don’t think you mum has ever really liked me. That’s ok. Just leave it alone.”
”Has Ron or Harry stepped in at all?”
She shrugged her shoulders. “When they can.” She said flippantly.
”So, they don’t.” He called her out.
She shrugged once more.
When Voldemort returned to life that night, Bill had held her closer, once the adrenaline had worn off and they gathered around Harry at the Hospital. She cried, because she knew this was the end. Before Bill left though, he tugged her into an empty alcove.
”How are you really doing?” Bill asked her gently, holding her hands in his and watching her closely.
Tears gathered in her eyes. “What do you think, Bill? I’m a walking target. A bigger target than the average muggle-born. I’m terrified, but I’m not going to back down from an idiotic madman-“
She was cut off as Bill surged forward and kissed her deeply, tongue running over her lower lip. She gasped, letting him in and deepening the kiss. One of his hands cupped the back of her neck, tilting her head back enough to allow him full access to her mouth. While the other held firmly onto her hip. She froze for a moment, hands hovering in her shock, before hesitantly kissing back. Her hands clutched at his arms, as a warmth filled her body. Her heart beating wildly in her chest. The feelings she had been suppressing, surging forward. After a while, he slowly pulled back, pressing chase kisses to her lips, before resting his forehead on hers.
”I shouldn’t have done that.” Bill panted.
”Do you regret it?” She whispered back shyly, panting just as hard as he is.
He shook his head. “I could never regret anything I do with you, Hermione.” He whispered, moving to press another kiss to her lips. “However, you are underage.”
Her hand trailed up to his neck, playing with the long strands of hair at the nape. “I’m seventeen actually. I’m a year older than Harry and Ron, and thanks to a time turner it aged me two years. I’m of age.” She breathed.
That was all the prompting he needed, as he surged back to her lips. Kissing her with more passion than the last. He backed her up until she was pressed against the wall, where he could press against her more fully. It was a while before they came up for air, but all that did was cause Bill to move down her neck and nibble love bites into her skin.
”Will you be mine?” He breathed, his arms moving to wrap around her waist and heave her up against his body. Her legs wrapped around his waist tightly, a gasp leaving her lips as his bulge was pressed against her.
“Yes.” She breathed, hands cupping his face to guide his lips back to hers.
It was a while before they broke away from each other fully. Hermione, using magic, rightened their appearance. They made their way back to the others, an agreement made to keep what’s going on between them secret. She ignored Molly’s more sour comments about her, and just focused on what she was going to do over the summer. She had three things on her list:
1. Figure out a way to protect her parents.
2. Get Sirius’s name cleared.
3. Explore her new relationship.
Sounded simple enough.
