Chapter 5
Everything has been chaotic, to say the least. The-boy-who-lived and the Weasley had both arrived in a rather loud way.
It isn't to say that Draco hated it of course, in fact, Draco had always been a sucker for dramatic and showy entrances.
Hermione had chosen to dine in with them when they heard the news about the golden boy arriving in a rather fancy entrance along with Ron Weasley.
Hermione had been so distressed to hear about it but Draco knew that they wouldn't get expelled. After all, even through all the deaths and murders that seem to revolve around him, Harry James Potter still graduated from Hogwarts.
He had told Hermione to relax which she only nodded but didn't follow through. In the end, she left them earlier than intended.
Dinner finished uneventfully except for the fact that two gryffindor idiots already caused an incident within the first few hours of their first school year
As he walks by though, something's, or more accurately to say that someone snaked their hands into his waist to pin him onto the wall.
He looked back to face to face with a beautiful girl with short black hair, glaring intensely onto his silvery gray eyes.
"what the bloody hell, Dray! You chose those impure bloodlines over us?" Pansy started as Draco sighed. This Pansy sure is handful.
"I've done some thinking, Pans-", she growled. Unlike them she doesn't like being called pans as she said and he quote that 'it sounds like pants'.
"—and maybe muggles aren't as aggressive as they are portrayed in the stories", he snorted, "Surely muggles doesn't have the capability of eating pureblood wizards". Draco added amused and indignant on how he stayed oblivious and naive to ever believe that muggles likes to eat pureblood wizards.
Pansy merely crossed her arms on her chest- which Draco notes was still quite small, not that he could complain when his chest on his previous life isn't that big either. She glared at him with puffy eyes, huffing the words out. "Still! What about your father? Lady Narcisa? They would disown you!" She exclaimed and Draco has to admit that he felt touched.
He laughed, one that sent chills on Pansy's whole being. "Oh, dear-" he spoke, snaking his hands in her face and caressing her that made Pansy freeze. "you must have forgotten who your friend is" he said with a wink and proceeded to walk off, without as much as a knowledge of how red his friend was.
The next day came as he proceeded to go to the great hall with a spring to his steps. He looks as elegant as always, not that there was a time that he isn't. He walks as if he owns the place because let's all be honest, confidence is the key to getting anyone's respect.
On the way towards the great hall, he stopped when he saw two first years getting bullied by older years from his own house. He frowned and flamboyantly walked towards the trouble.
“hey” he called as they all looked at him. The first year with the red hair frowned at seeing him, on the other hand, he furrowed his brows at the overly familiar blonde haired first year. Upon looking closer, there was another blonde haired first year hiding behind the two girls, holding a camera.
“heh! Malfoy! Join us, these first years are being disrespectful” his upperclassman said as he merely smiled at them.
“no” he said as they looked at him as if he had grown a second head. “wha-”, he cut them off with a smile. “I said no. Leave them be” he added as he stood in front of the first years to shield them from his upperclassman.
“my friends did say that you sided with the half blood and muggleborns, I can't believe how pathetic you've been, Malfoy!” his upperclassman spoke with venom as Draco's eyes turned slit. He doesn't necessarily care what others think about him but something in him can't stand the thought of being humiliated in front of the younger ones.
“I think you're forgetting your place...” he said as he stared at his eyes and put a hand on his shoulder before closing in to whisper in his ear. “you ugly brute ” he added as he pushed down the boy to his knees.
He turned back to look at the first years with a smile. “Are you guys alright?” he asked as he heard the red haired girl spoke. Draco kept looking at her, enchanted at the way her hair blazed red.
“yes we're alright. Thank you for helping us Draco”
“y-yes, thank you for the help”
The two blondes spoke gratefully while the last one scoffed. “we didn't need your help”, she said before Luna elbowed her on the stomach. She grumbled under her breath before saying thank you.
Upon looking closer, he could see that Luna isn't wearing any shoes. Without thinking much, he removed his shoes and had her wear them before asking what happened. The girl tried to refuse saying that it's large for her, Draco only told her that his shoes are magical and it takes the size of the wearer.
Luna tried to keep quiet but the red haired girl spoke for her. “she's getting bullied. People kept calling her Loony” she grumbled angrily before looking at him warily. “is it alright? I meant, your shoes?”
“don't mind it. For now let's just focus on finding Luna's lost things” he said before he heard a stutter coming from the other blonde haired boy.
“I- umm, I would like to help” he spoke. “I'm Collins” he introduced himself with a shy smile and a blush.
“nice to meet you Collins, I'm your upperclassman, Draco Malfoy”, he said proceeding to do a little bow for formality.
Ginny merely looked at him with stars on her eyes. “I'm Ginevra... Weasley”, she said warily as if saying her last name would make Draco mad at her, and proceeding to imitate the bow that he made. Although not perfect, Draco could only think about how cute the three were.
“it's nice to meet you Ginevra, Luna, and Collin-”, he said as he dusted off the three first years before being interrupted by the boy who lived's interruption.
“Malfoy! What are you doing to them?!”, he shouted accusingly with suspicious eyes.
He squinted his eyes at him as the older Weasley separated him from the three first years. Gritting his teeth, he closed his eyes and took a deep breath before looking at them with a scowl.
“Whatever do you think I am doing with them?”, he asked innocently as he pursed his lips into a false pout. “aww, does Potter think that I'm bullying them? I'm hurt” he said as he held his chest dramatically before giving a nod to Hermione who returned the gesture.
He kept fiddling with his feet at how cold the floor was making him and could only curse the gods for giving him a weak body as Draco and as Jour.
In the end he sighed and started to speak. “I'm not here for trouble Potter, I've done a lot of thinking so I'm gonna apologize once and for all. I'm sorry for all my misdeeds Potter, Granger”
“what about Ron?” Potter growled at him as he scoffed.
“I'm not apologizing to him. To Ginevra here, yes, because she was included in my numerous insults against Weasley there, but to him, no” Draco stated as he watched the weasel look at him angrily.
Draco won't apologize since before he even insulted Weasley, he insulted him first. With that, he turned on his heel—which he doesn't wear at the moment— and proceeded to continue to the great hall.
