Chapter 6
"Dray!" his friend greeted him as they escorted him towards the table. "What are you doing running around on your own? What if you fainted?" Pansy whispered as she glared at him before looking over to his two friends who made it their job to look like an unusable chair at the side.
"She saw you, run" Blaise laughed as he watch Pansy scold the three of them.
Draco merely rolled his eyes as Pansy gasped. "did you just roll your eyes at me, Mr?", she asked looking pointedly at him.
He grumbled under his breath. He isn't that weak. For god's sake, he's a Thames and the King's best friend. "I'm not that weak Pans...", he whispered, as if afraid that the girl will hear him.
He loves Pansy but even Draco couldn't deny that she could be scary sometimes. He yelped and carefully walk towards the girl with the most innocent expression he could master.
"Have you forgotten how many times you'd have to be taken to healers? How many times you'd fainted just because of the cold-?!"
She yelled and Draco felt guilty. It was true. He had always had a weak body but looking back, maybe the problem lies within his soul and not his body.
He had studied it when he was young, body and soul are normally compatible yet there are some cases where souls wouldn't align with the said body. Those reasons being connected to the god's interference, of course.
He was about to calm her down when a loud voice boomed throughout the great hall. It was none other than Ronaldo Wesley's mother.
Listening to the howler, Draco can't help but frown. As a mother himself, he couldn't find it in him to ever think of humiliating his child in front of numerous students. 4
He looked at the golden trio and with a a snap of his fingers casted a non verbal silencing spell. That's their business and they ought to keep it themselves. It must be his imagination but at the corner of his eyes, he couldn't help but think that he saw beautiful green eyes staring his way.
Looking satisfied at himself, he was brought back to reality when Pansy began her second round at lecturing them.
In the end, he was fetched a shoes by Nott who simply winked at him.
Flirtous bastard. He simply rolled his eyes at his friend with a smile.
“Don't you dare think that I forgot about you, Draco Lucius Malfoy!” he gulped looking palpably at the girl. He could only hope that today won't be the day that he dies at the hand of the teen, after all he still has dreams to accomplish.
He looked at Blaise and the others for comfort just to grimace when Blaise, the bloody traitor decided that laughing at him is justified. He swears that if some time later, he got played with by the wind, he has nothing to do with it.
Meanwhile he sighs when he gazed at Crabbe and Goyle who were still sobbing at being scolded by the girl.
The day proceeded to go by in a blink and before knowing it, it was already defense against Dark Arts.
“Ugh, why did they have to hire this clown?”, he heard Nott whisper besides him which he only agreed fervently, he's not feeling so well right now.
“Agreed, the only one who likes him is Pansy and mother”, he almost laughed when he saw Blaise's face looks like he was fed one of the puking pranksnthat the twins sell.
Although normally, Draco would argue that it's rude to badmouth your teacher, this one seems to be quite incompetent.
Incredibly so.
He almost reminds him of his old acquaintance. One that's so snobbishly arrogant and obsessed with himself...
He sighed. This is gonna be a long day.
"A-Achooo!"
Draco grunted his face as he sneezed into a handkerchief. He was currently running a fever, he feels lightheaded and he doesn't like it.
He has many things he needs to do— well not really, but he has made it his goal to love as peacefully as he can, and running a fever isn't on his list.
"Seriously!" Pansy whisper shouted as he glared at Draco, flicking his forehead multiple times. "What did you think, running through the halls with your bare feet when you know exactly how weak your body is?!"
She sounds exasperated and Draco nearly felt pity for her. Nearly. Since flicking his forehead isn't helping his situation. He grumbled and slapped her hands away with a pout.
Stupid Pansy and her stupidly strong hands.
With that, he was left with dinner as the rest went to the great hall. He could only sigh at how boring the place was without the others...
He closed his eyes and opened them.
He blinked and proceeded to close his eyes once again...
Because holy cow, what is a dragon egg doing inside his room? He frowned, sensing the aura of the God of Death and cursed.
Of course it gotta be that god who likes to intervene with the mortal's life.
There was a note besides the dragon egg. He began to read it.
Dear Cale Henituse's mother. I am here to inform you that this dragon was someone that he could not save but wished to be saved. Thus I realized, I could just give it to you as a compensation for your situation, or more accurately to say, for your soul's condition.
Love—The God of Death
The instant she finishes reading the letter, it burns instantly on his hands.
He sighed and looked at the red egg. He placed a hand on it and felt cold at the touch. He sighed before deciding that he might as well warm the egg, the red dragon that'll undoubtedly become someone bothersome in the near future.
He might as well let the dragon hatch safely and release them to the world to be free...although on second thought, a dragon in his world is different from the dragon in this one.
He sighed and went back to sleep. He'll leave this to the future Draco and hopefully get a good night's sleep.
