Chapter 3

Luna and Draco arrived at Hogwarts together, accompanied by one Hermione Granger.

It all started when their food ran out and Luna volunteered to search for more and Draco isn't cruel enough as to say no to those shining eyes and so he agreed.

As Luna went out, Draco closed his eyes and took a short nap. At least that's what it should have been, he opened his eyes and frowned. It's been 5 minutes since Luna went out and it's not supposed to take that long to buy some food.

He stood up and strided on the corridor menacingly. Draco knew that he had only met the girl but he would probably lose it if something happened to her. For she had considered Luna as her own. She is talking as both Draco and Drew.

His eyes went red as he saw blood smeared on Luna's lips. He quickly bolted towards Luna as he caressed the wound that formed around her mouth.

Draco tried to calm his anger as the bastard continues to shout and it was only now that he noticed that Luna isn't alone.

The person with her was none other than Granger. Just great, one of the people he wishes to avoid was in front of him. But Draco paid her no mind, his priority was Luna and Luna alone.

"Luna, are you alright?", Draco asked gently as Luna nodded. "that's all I need to know. For now that is. Granger, would you mind accompanying Luna for a bit?" he looked at Granger who cautiously nodded.

Draco watched as they stepped out of the room. Once he was sure that they were gone, he immediately lost it and took the nearest weapon he could find- which by the way was a book and threw it at their head.

"don't you know who I am-"

"shut up" Draco spat coldly.

"huh-" the man stuttered. "I said shut up, can't. you. understand?" repeated the words menacingly. The students must have been a senior at his own house but Draco doesn't remember people who isn't worth his time.

The group of 4th year student began to pale as soon as they recognized who he is. No one in his house doesn't know who he is, after all, his family had been that house's alumni. Additionally, he could use some nepotism of being Severus Snape's godson to his favor.

He smiled wickedly as he began to use the book to break their noses. It's been a while since he had acted so rowdy as being a noble lady needs to act properly (not that she ever followed it to begin with.) and as much as he hates it, he's letting off his steam at teenager who probably don't know what they did wrong.

He stopped, he was stopped by a shout and a cling to his arms. It was hermione Granger who stopped him, fear visible on her eyes. He sighed, feeling thankful that he was stopped .

He knew, after all, those people had once been him. Without knowing what's truly right and wrong, he followed his father's philosophy without much thought. He looked at Granger thankfully which she simply nodded her head.

"I'll see you seniors at Hogwarts" with a graceful bow, Draco left with Granger in tow.

"I left my book that's why I came back but Luna is fine" Granger explained all the questions currently plaguing Draco's head. "sibling?" she asked as Draco shook his head.

"friend" he simply answered as they arrived at their compartment with a sullen looking Luna. Draco's heart wrenched at the sight as he immediately kneeled before her and asked softly:

"what's wrong, Luna?" he asked as the girl began to fidget.

"it's not me, Draco, it's Hermione. They called her a mudblood..." Luna drawled out as Hermione flinched at the sudden attention to her.

"hmm, let me apologize for my senior's rudeness Granger" he mumbled with sincerity. Out of the three golden idiots, the one that he wants to apologize the most was Harry Potter and followed by Hermione Granger. Ron Weasley could go to hell, that little brat's a menace that didn't show him proper respect to begin with.

Hermione said nothing and simply nodded. Draco understands. He had been terrorizing them since forever and just a simple apology ain't gonna cut it...

He sighed but made no move to further inquire about the apology. Instead, he heard Luna chat with Granger and just let them be in their own little words.

He continued reading before he felt the intense gaze of Granger towards his book. He raised an eyebrow at her but proceeded to ignore them in favor of finishing the book.

This continues on for a while before Draco sighed and glanced at her with a raised brow. Hermione in turn, looks wary but there's determination on her eyes that trigged Draco's heart.

"I believe I haven't read that book before.." Draco scoffed. Of course not, it's on their library's 'do not enter, it's sacred' section. They could have just said 'restricted area' but no, of course they have to be dramatic as always.

"it's in our manor's library. I've got more, you can take it if you want. It's garbage anyway" Draco muttered as he tossed the book that's been passed down through their generations recklessly towards Granger.

With wide eyes, Granger caught it and marvelled at the intricate calligraphy of the book. One look and one could see that the book was delicately made.

"book about time and life? Is this a philosophy book?" Granger asked.

"hmm, no. Read it if your curious" he simply said a he watched Granger brighten at the first words.

That's the story of how Hermione Granger arrived at Hogwarts along with Draco Malfoy and Luna Lovegood.

“I enjoyed the book, thank you for letting me borrow it”Hermione said as she handed over the book. Whereas Draco simply ignored her and proceeded to talk.

“you can have it if you want, it's useless to me anyway”,

Hermione gasped as she tightened her hold on the book. She looked back between the treasure in her arms and Draco warily.

Draco sighed and made a death vow with Luna Lovegood as a witness, promising that he, Draco Malfoy had given Hermione Granger the book and it's not so much of a prank or a scheme which proves to be useful at authenticating his sincerity. After that, he was finally able to rest.
