Chapter 3

Draco was irritated. He's tired of shopping with his father. Can't they just ask the house elf to do the shopping for them?

Don't get him wrong, Draco loves going out of the house and doing whatever that pleases him. It's just, his father is the bummer of the year and so no fun can be done in this outing except on keeping his father angry.

They went to a store called Flourish & Blotts and sure enough, there were crowds and lines inside the store. Just great! She thought as she rolled her eyes at the crowd.

Just then, an idea came to her. She went to the second floor of the store that has a lot more books and less people and began searching for a book about time.

She's still a Thames no matter how much of a Malfoy she is and as a Thames, it is only second nature to want to research about time and life. She grinned as she began to search through the corridors and sections of books in the building. For the first time since coming here, Draco felt liberated.

A loud cheer broke his time with the nooks as he curiously looked back to see what was happening. Sure enough, the boy who lived was the cause of it all.

Draco felt like sighing and shouting towards the god as that child just seems to be always in the middle of attention like some princess in the damsel.

Their eyes met once again and Draco refused to be the first one to look away and lose. And so she grinned, when Potter was the first to look away due to Ron Weasley. Perhaps, Draco should give the young boy a treat back in Hogwarts, without his father or mother assuming that he's in his so-called rebellious phase.

He waited for a while before he came face to face with the said celebrity.

"I'm glad you found your way out, Potter" he tried to spit as much venom as he can when he called out the hero's name.

"that I did, thank you for pointing out the obvious, Malfoy" he spat back with as much venom as he did.

They had a stare down once again before they were interrupted by Draco's father, whose cane grabbed hold of his neck, pushing him aside with a thumble.

He groaned. Way to make an entrance... He rolled his eyes as his father began to make enemies of the hero and his party. He could only sigh right now but when they came home, Draco would tattle to his beloved mother.

Right after, Arthur Weasley appeared and as if theatrics, they began to fight like little children in front of public. If only Draco has a means to record it all, like the mana crystal that Deruth gave her to record Cale's first steps, it would have been the best day in his life here.

When they arrived home, time flew by as Draco buried himself in books regarding time and life at their manor. Most of the things written were something he already knew but he just kept reading as it was something that could possibly help her baby when the time comes. And the rest of the books were lacking in information and some are just outright misleading.

Draco even pondered about writing his own book if not for the fact that it'll probably start another war with another idiot who'll be stupid enough to wish to live forever.

In an instance, Draco arrived at the train, a bit late yes but he has a lot of packing to do so he thought that people must understand him and his worries. After all there's no such thing as too much.

He waltzed into the train with elegance as if he owned it and slid open a door leading to a compartment with the least number of people inside.

“hallo, I'm Luna Lovegood”, a girl with blonde hair greeted with a warm smile. “you have a lot of thestrals with you” she added before scrunching her face. “no, I seem to be mistaken. What are those things around you?” the girl asked, walking closer to observe.

Draco backed away. He instantly knew that this girl might be a danger...but second look, he decides to fuck it all as the girl, Luna, was just but a child.

“hmm, I have no idea of what you're saying-” he tried to deny.

“you're lying. They're saying that you know. They've been observing you”

“then maybe if you could describe these beings...? It would be a great help” he stated, he has suspicions but he's afraid that it would be correct. This better not be another scheme from a good or Draco swears that a Thames's fury ain't light.

“they are black in color. They looked like thestrals and similar to the beings of death but they seem fond of you, how amusing.” Luna said, continuing to observe the beings near Draco. “ohh, there were also little balls of light saying that they followed you! Huh? R-Ronan? Not Ronan? Raon? No, Rain?? Roan!! That's it! They said they followed you from that place!” she explained optimistically as Draco pondered whether the winds that helped her weren't this world's elementals, but theirs.

On the other hand, Draco could only scoff at the mention of death. He was the god who decided that using his own son as a pawn is adequate. He knows that he's being hypocritical by getting mad like this when he knows that if other people were the ones dragged into this, and not his son, he wouldn't even bat an eye.

“Miss Lovegood-

“you can call me Luna, I wanna be your friend” Luna exclaimed with positivity as she urged Draco to sit with her in the compartment.

“why? If you must know, I'm in Slytherin and as much as I hate the wrongly accused rumors against our house, most people view us as evil” Draco pointed out, noticing that Luna must have been a first year and haven't been sorted yet.

“they don't think you're evil? Plus, their only rumors. I don't think you're evil” Luna answered with certainty that left Draco impressed. He loves this girl. Her positivity reminds him of his beloved child...

Draco scoffed amusingly, “then I guess I'll be in your care Luna, it's nice to meet you” Draco said, extending his hand for Luna to shake.

Luna happily shook his hand, showing how happy she is by talking nonstop about the things that she liked. Draco listened patiently and made sure to keep note of everything Luna says without knowing how happy that made the lonely girl.

Throughout the whole ride, they've exchanged words, stories and food amongst each other, enjoying the company of one another. Draco completely forgot the fact that he was supposed to meet up with his 'friends' which were Crabbe and Goyle.
