Chapter 8

Harry and Hermione run into the Hospital Wing to see a tall, thin man with long-ish black hair casually tossing a vial of potion from hand-to-hand.

"Ah! There you are! You must be Harry Stark-Potter and Hermione Granger. I have heard a lot about the two of you!"

"Is he gone? Can I finally look after my-who are you?" Madame Pomphrey demands, snatching the potion from the man.

"Excuse my rudeness. I am Loki Laufeyson of Asgard."

"I knew it!" Harry says excitedly and Loki smirks.

"Yes, your father told me of your hypothesis of my...condition. It brought around a lot of fighting, but you were correct, young mage."

"Can we talk about this while I take care of my patients?" Madame Pomphrey asks exasperatedly.

"Of course. My apologies." Loki says, moving out of both her and the students' way. "So, what brings you three to the hospital wing?"

"They were nearly kissed by dementors." Madame Pomphrey says, handing both children giant chunks of chocolate.

"Those are still around? I only created them to last a couple centuries. It's been four." Loki says in confusion.

"Yes, well, they breed off misery and there have been several wizarding wars to contend with."

"Fair enough."

"So, do you want to explain to me why my dad's vitals all went out for a couple minutes after calling me to say goodbye."

"The Council decided to nuke New York. Your dad took the bomb and put it through the worm hole, destroying the enemy space craft. He made it back to earth and the Hulk scared him back to life, but-"

"But he had died for a bit." Hermione finishes for him and Loki nods his head.

"I am truly sorry for what I had done. My adoptive mother, All-Queen Frigga of Asgard, was even called upon to verify my claims. Needless to say both Frigga and Odin are not happy with me."

"You were brainwashed!" Harry opposes.

"Not for that, young mage. They understand that quite well. It is something else entirely that had happened decades ago that I had hidden from them. Your father is also not very thrilled about it."

"Well, get on with it. These children don't need more stress while they heal." Madame Pomphrey snaps.

"I had a child that I had hidden on Midgard as my father would have killed any demigod should he have known about it. Harry, there is a reason you are as powerful as you are. It is because of how powerful your carrier had been."

"You're Harry's grandfather?" Hermione asks and Loki nods his head.

"My parents and brother are not happy with me for hiding my son, my brother is mad at my father for his reaction to my son's death, and my brother, mother, and I are furious at my father's reaction to learning about you, Harry."

"What now?" Harry groans.

"He wants to kill Harry, doesn't he? For being part-Asgardian?"

"Indeed." Loki says with a nod of his head.

"Thor is arguing with Odin to protect Harry while Tony Stark is working with Andromeda Tonks on a way to triple the magical security in your home in New York." Loki tells his grandson.

"THIS -HAS-SOMETHING-TO-DO-WITH-POTTER!" A furious male voice bellows. Loki looks at his grandson for confirmation for the statement and Harry nods minutely. A moment later three men barge into the hospital wing.

"Out with it, Potter!"

"Really now!" Madame Pomphrey says, insulted.

"Severus, Harry couldn't have possibly have had anything to do with this. Madame Pomphrey, have either of these children left their beds since I had left this wing?" Dumbledore asks.

"Of course not, Headmaster. I would have heard them!" Madame Pomphrey exclaims.

"There you have it." Dumbledore says. Snape looks between everyone else before storming out, red faced.

"I would keep an eye on that man, Dumbledore. He doesn't seem all there."

"Oh, Severus is quite sane. I believe it is all in disappointment though. You will have the dementors removed now though, I assume?"

"Of course. To think that they would try to kiss two children. No. They have to go. Perhaps dragons?"

"Hagrid would love that." Dumbledore says and the two men leave.

"That was..."

"Dumbledore." Harry finished for Hermione and she smirks.

"You know what, an American school is sounding better and better all the time." Tony says as he hugs his son in greeting. Harry snorts in amusement.

"You moved the trophy case here." Harry notes, seeing the woodened case in the living room.

"Since this is our new home thanks to the rest of our other home being, you know, destroyed, I had to bring as much as possible over here. I could never leave this behind anyway." Tony says, wrapping his arm around his son as they look at the trophy case.

"This all seems so long ago." Harry mutters, looking at it all.

"Not these." Tony says pointing at three new awards on the shelf: the badge stating him as the youngest Seeker in a century from his first year, a copy of his Special Award for Services to the School from his second year, and a copy of the Quidditch Cup each Quidditch player had received upon winning it. "One award each year! Although I could do with our the Services to the School award."

Harry chuckles at his dad's words, knowing it was because he had to face a basilisk to get it.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Two months later Tony is awoken by Harry crawling into his bed in between him and Pepper.

"Harry? Raven, what's wrong?"

"Bad dream. Scar hurts." Harry says as he snuggles down. Tony frowns.

"Your scar shouldn't hurt thanks to the cleansing at the bank." He says, turning on a lamp and looking over his son's face. Harry just shrugs. "It's inflamed. JARVIS, request Loki come to us at 8 this morning."

"Yes, sir."

"It'll be okay, Harry." Pepper says, rubbing his shoulder.

"Last time it hurt like this Voldemort was around. He couldn't be here, could he?"

"One, why is this the first I'm hearing about this? Two, I highly doubt that he would be prancing around the middle of New York City, Raven." Tony answers.

"I forgot. I was more focused on the fact that I faced him than the pain that happened at the time." Harry answers. Tony sighs and nods his head before tucking his son in, turning off the lamp, and pulling his blanket back over himself.

"Get a little more sleep, Raven. We'll ask Loki about it in the morning. Okay?"

"Okay." Harry says. Snuggled between his dad and the woman who is the only consistent motherly figure in his life, Harry quickly falls back to sleep. This time in a painless, dreamless sleep.

Six hours later Tony and Harry are in their kitchen cooking together, Tony being more of a sous chef than anything else, when JARVIS gets their attention.

"Sir, the team is requesting entrance into the living areas." JARVIS says.

"Do they know about magic?" Harry asks.

"Thanks to your grandfather, yes. followed the law-"

"For once." Harry says and Tony narrows his eyes playfully at his son before continuing.

"Loki had not. Let them up, JARVIS."

Ten minutes later finds Tony proudly showing off any award Harry had ever gotten in his life and every picture or accolade he had received. Harry is trying his best to ignore it all as he finishes cooking.

"You have no need to be embarrassed, Starkson. You have achieved much." Thor says with a big smile.

"You asked for me to come up, Stark. Why?" Loki asks once Tony had gone through everything.

"The first time Harry and I went to Gringotts he was cleansed of a Voldemort horcrux."

"I know. All nine realms are surprised he stayed alive as long as he did. My theory is his godly lineage helped." Loki says.

"Do you have a theory on why his scar still hurts around the bastard or why my son woke up from a nightmare of what Voldemort is doing and his scar hurting last night?" Tony throws back. Both Asgardians look to Harry in shock.

"How long has this been happening, little mage?" Loki asks as he goes to look at Harry's head.

"As long as I can remember." Harry says with a shrug.

"It shouldn't be possible with the soul piece gone." Thor says in concern.

"It is gone, but it is still a dark, cursed scar, brother. Until Voldemort is gone, this will keep happening."

"Will it work both ways?" Clint asks, arms crossed as he leans against the couch.

"I cannot say. This is...a new experience with the mixture of soul magic and dark magic beyond me, one I have never seen."

"What can we do?" Tony says, putting his arm around his son.

"I will teach Harry the mind arts, give him exercises he can do on his own when off living his life. It will hinder the connection if only slightly." Loki says and Tony nods his head in understanding.

"Little Stark, your owl has returned with a much smaller animal for you within your room."

"Smaller animal?" Harry asks in confusion, wiping his hands on a towel.

"A much smaller owl than yours by my scans." JARVIS says. Harry goes to his room with Tony at his heels, always worried for his son.

"Oh." Harry says with laughter in his voice. Hedwig is standing on her perch, glaring at the small fluttering bird that Harry recognizes at Ron's new owl.

"You know that tiny thing?" Tony asks.

"It's Ron's new owl. Sirius got it for him after Wormtail got away. Get down here, you!" Harry says, eyeing the thing. Suddenly he jumps up at the right time, catching it.

"Nice reflexes." Natasha compliments.

"Thanks." Harry says with a small blush.

Harry reads the letter quickly and smiles.

"The Weasleys got tickets to the Quidditch World Cup!" Harry announces.

"When is it?" Tony asks, looking over his son's shoulder. "Well, this is a little last minute, isn't it?"

"Can I go?" Harry almost begs. Tony sighs and holds Harry close to him.

"Speaking of 'off living his life'." Steve says with a small smirk.

"Fine. You can go. I want to hear all about it." Tony says, hugging his son to his side. Tony knows that he has to give Harry more freedom and not hold him so close, but both of them have nearly died multiple times over the last three years and that terrifies him. He just wants his little Raven to be safe. That shouldn't be too much to ask, but it apparently is.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Getting to the portkey to go to the Quidditch World Cup is a very long trek. One the twins aren't thrilled to see who is at the end of, but Harry is.

"Hey, Cedric!"

"Hey, Harry." Cedric says, hugging Harry close to him.

"Mr. Diggory, it's good to see you again."

"Mr. Potter." Amos says before turning to Arthur.

"He's never going to get my name right, is he?"

"Never. I don't know why he doesn't like you, but...I'm sorry about him."

"I know you are, love, but you have no reason to be."

"Is everyone ready?" Arthur asks of the group. Holding hands, Harry and Cedric quickly put one finger on the old boot.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"HARRY!" Cedric's voice calls as the Weasleys get closer to their tent.

"CEDRIC!" Harry says, running from his friends' sides to hug Cedric to him.

"Are you okay? I saw the Death Eaters and I know they're going to be after you because of You-Know-Who. Are you okay?" Cedric asks, clearly terrified as he looks over his boyfriend.

"I'm fine, Ced."

"At this point you're just checking Harry out, mate." George teases.

"With no regrets." Cedric admits and Harry laughs, holding Cedric close to him. "Are you all alright?" Cedric asks the Weasley boys.

"A couple of scrapes and bruises, but otherwise we're fine." Charlie says, at his brother's side. The two had been sent out to check on Harry while Arthur, Ron, and Hermione had entered the tent.

"Where's your dad, Ced?" Harry asks.

"Helping the ministry. I, um, wasn't supposed to leave my tent." Cedric admits sheepishly.

"Come on, Diggory, I'll walk you back so your dad doesn't blow his top. Kiss your boyfriend goodbye and let's go." Charlie says. Cedric gently kisses Harry goodbye and then they go their separate ways.

"Surprised you two didn't start going at it like rabbits after what Freddy and I saw at the end of last term." George teases when Harry gets to his side and Harry blushes a bright red. "I know the pain of being a carrier too, Harry. Why do you think mum has been drilling the contraceptive charm into Ron ever since she found out about Neville."

"Neither have got it down yet."

"Ouch." George flinches at that.

"Neither have I, but muggle contraceptives are brilliant." Harry says, making George laugh.

"Hermione's got the charm down, but she uses those too on occasion."

"On occasion?"

"I met her parents this summer as her soulmate." George says, blushing.

"Hey, at least your soulmate's parents like you. Amos Diggory loathes the ground I walk on." Harry says and they start walking towards the tent.

"Very true." George says as they enter.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On Halloweens Eve Cedric, Harry, Cedric's two Hufflepuff friends, and Ron and Hermione are all hanging out as they wait.

"So, you entered?" Ron asks of the older boys.

"Just Ced. We don't turn 17 for another few months." One of the boys says.

"Cedric." Harry whispers, almost begging.

"I'll be careful, love. You'll cheer me on if I get chosen, right?"

"Always." Harry says, smiling up at his boyfriend.

"Gag." The two Hufflepuffs say in unison.

"Who wants to bet someone's going to put Stark-Potter's name in the cup this year just to try to kill him?"

"Why? Why would you put that energy out there?" Harry demands.

"Nope. Harry is not competing. Never." Cedric says, tightening his arm around his soulmate.

The next day the three champions are called and Cedric's friend is proved right.

"Harry Potter! Harry, if you please." Dumbledore says. Harry stubbornly stays seated, arms crossed and everything.

"Harry, just go."

"Nope. My name isn't Harry Potter." Harry says, making Hermione shake her head in amusement.

"What?" Ron asks.

"It's Harry Stark-Potter." Harry says, making his two friends smile slightly.

"Harry Potter! Please come up here!" Dumbledore calls louder. Harry still stays seated. McGonagall walks down the aisle towards them.

"Harry, I know it's horrid, and we don't know why, but you need to go to the side chamber so we can figure this out." McGonagall says.

"But my name isn't Harry Potter, professor." Harry says, smiling up at his Transfiguration professor. McGonagall blinks at him for a few moments before returning to Dumbledore and whispering to him.

"The ceremony has finished! I wish you all a goodnight!" Dumbledore says and everyone is dismissed.

"Gotta love a good loophole." Harry says as he stands up.

"Your dad is going to be so pissed." Ron says.

"Forget his dad. His grandfather is going to be pissed." Hermione says.

"Oh shit." Ron says, paling.

"Well, this is going to be a fun phone call."

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tony is pale as he is talking to his son.

"JARVIS, get Reindeer Games up here. It's an emergency."

"Right away, sir." JARVIS says. Not even a minute later Loki is in the living room.

"Harry's name came out of the goblet of fire."

"Excuse me?" Loki demands.

"The slip said 'Harry Potter' though." Harry says to them.

"And your legal name is either Harry Stark-Potter or Harry Potter-Stark." Tony says, already knowing what his son had done.

"That won't matter. To the people of the wizarding world, his name is Harry Potter. The goblet will acknowledge that." Loki says.

"Don't take my loophole away from me! I don't want to compete in this thing!"

"I understand that, little mage. I don't want you competing in it either, but if you don't you will lose your magic. The goblet will take your nickname as your signature for the contract."

"I-"

"I will be there tomorrow morning. While you may have to compete, I will be there every step of the way." Loki promises his grandson.

"I don't want to compete." Harry whispers.

"We'll help you as much as we can, Raven. Take care of yourself. I love you."

"I love you too. See you tomorrow, granddad." Harry says and then he hangs up. Tony turns to Loki with fire in his eyes.

"Gather as many people as you can from Asgard to help my son. I don't care who, but you help him."

"I'm already on my way to get my mother. She, Thor, and I will be at Hogwarts by breakfast tomorrow."

"Thank you."

"He is of our blood too."

"I know." Tony whispers, closing his eyes in terror. "He's trying to get at, and kill, my son. Again."

"Most definitely. The most we can do is make things harder on him." Loki agrees.

"How?"

"I'm the god of Mischief. I'll figure it out. I need to gather the royals. I'll keep you updated." Loki says before leaving.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After sending a terrified letter to Sirius to update him on everything that had happened that night, including his phone call with his dad, Harry, Ron, and Hermione head down to breakfast.

"We could always eat in the kitchens." Harry tries as they enter the Entrance Hall.

"Let's go." Ron and Hermione agree in unison. Before they can move, though, the Entrance Doors burst open loudly.

"Little mage." Loki says in greeting. Frigga beats Loki to Harry though, cupping his face and examining him.

"Your father has done well by you. I can feel your Asgardian in your skin. If only I had gotten to know your carrier." Frigga says, turning to face Loki. Loki groans at her words.

"Is now the time to chide me for James?" He asks. The Golden Trio all chuckle at his words. Loki immediately catches on to what his mother did when they do.

"Harry?" Cedric asks, seeing the commotion as he enters the Entrance Hall from the Hufflepuff common room.

"Harry Potter is a wizarding world given nickname. The goblet acknowledges nicknames."

"You have to be shitting me. He's fourteen! Why can't we leave it to the of age kids and let someone else have the glory for once?" One of Cedric's friends says.

"Oi! Harry didn't ask for this! He even actively tried to stay out of it." Ron argues on his best friend's behalf. The Hufflepuff scoffs. Thor punches the boy in irritation; lightly so as to not break the boy, but enough to cause damage.

"Thor." Frigga chides.

"I make no apologies. Nephew, where can we find your headmaster?" Thor says.

"He's in there." Hermione says, looking through the doors. Harry gestures to the Great Hall tiredly.

"Albus Dumbledore, you have explaining to do." Frigga states loudly

"Your dad's Howlers get better and better, Harry." Dean says from his spot at the table as the Asgardians storm to the head table.

"What are Asgardians doing here though?" Neville asks.

"My carrier was Loki's son." Harry explains.

"So they're all pissed. Got it." Seamus says with a nod of his head.

"Can you blame them after everything that's happened and now this?" Lavender asks.

The argument between Frigga, Loki, and Thor versus Dumbledore lasts well over an hour, entertaining everyone in the hall.
