Visions and Tea

Crookshanks’ POV

Winter break was fast approaching, and I was getting ready to relax, take naps, and generally avoid doing anything remotely productive. But, as always, the humans had other plans. Harry, the little drama queen, had to go and have a vision involving Arthur Weasley getting attacked by a snake. Naturally, this meant a trip to the Burrow and a new mess of emotions to deal with.

But what really got my attention was one little detail in that vision. Harry, poor sod, had been "in a snake's eyes."

A snake's eyes, mind you.

And I knew exactly what snake that was.

I was lounging on the couch in the Gryffindor common room when I overheard Harry describing the vision to Ron and Hermione.

"Yeah, I was in a snake's eyes. It was like I could feel everything it was seeing… and then I saw Mr. Weasley… he was attacked." Harry looked haunted, like he’d just seen a particularly nasty broomstick accident.

A snake's eyes.

I perked up. Now this was interesting. It had to be Nagini. No other snake would be that dramatic. It was her signature move—getting involved in the most ridiculous and dangerous situations.

So, naturally, I decided it was time for a little gossiping session.

I sneaked out of Grimmauld place under the cover of night. Hermione had been asking me where I was going, but I’d given her the patented "I’m-a-cat, I-do-what-I-want" look. She shrugged it off. Cats will be cats, after all.

I wandered through the streets, my tail flicking with excitement. Nagini always had the juiciest stories, and it seemed that this one would be no exception.

As I slinked through the Walls, I found my destination: the Malfoy Manor . Thankfully, no one was around to stop me. I slipped through the door, and there she was—Nagini, lounging by the fire like she owned the place.

"Nagini," I said, leaping gracefully onto a nearby chair. "I heard something interesting today."

She glanced over, her golden eyes glimmering with curiosity. "Do tell, Crookshanks."

"Harry," I began, "was in a snake’s eyes."

Nagini’s expression shifted from curiosity to a mischievous grin. "Oh? That sounds Interesting."

I settled in for what was bound to be a rather entertaining chat. "It wasn’t just any snake, you know. It had to be you. I know you, Nagini. You’re the only one who’s got the dramatic flair to make Harry feel like he’s actually in the vision, seeing through your eyes. He’s practically living in your mind!"

Nagini hissed with amusement. "I was busy. But Harry—he's an interesting one, isn’t he?"

“Oh, yes, always getting involved in things he doesn’t understand.” I smirked, knowing exactly how she felt about Harry’s heroic streak. “But the real question is, what did you see, hmm? What’s really going on? Was it just a coincidence that Arthur was attacked, or is there something bigger at play?”

Nagini stretched her coils, a low hiss escaping her. “You humans and your petty concerns. Arthur Weasley is just another pawn in a much larger game. But Harry, ah, Harry. He is far more interesting than he realizes.”

"Yeah, we’ve all noticed that," I muttered. "He’s a walking drama magnet."

I paused, thinking about Harry’s connection to Nagini. It was all too suspicious. Every time he seemed to have visions, she was involved in some way or another. But what if it wasn’t just about being the snake on the side? What if she was influencing him, steering him in a direction he didn’t fully understand?

I didn’t like it. I didn’t like it one bit.

"Nagini," I asked, my tail twitching, "are you planning to do anything with Harry? Or is this just a passing amusement for you?"

She slithered closer, her head tilting in a way that almost looked like a smile. "You really do enjoy stirring up trouble, don’t you? But don’t worry, Crookshanks. I’m not the one who has plans for him. I’m just... observing."

I didn’t buy it. Nagini never did anything without a reason. If she was involved in Harry’s visions, there had to be more to it than simple observation. But I wasn’t about to let her know I was suspicious.

I decided to let it go for now. After all, I had my own agendas to focus on.

The next day, I returned to Grimmauld place, where Hermione was already petting me and asking where I’d been. "Silly cat, always getting into mischief," she said, scratching behind my ears.

I gave her my best "I have no idea what you're talking about" look and promptly hopped into my favorite spot by the window.

It was hard not to grin when I thought about my little gossip session with Nagini. I’d gotten plenty of useful information. And as for Harry’s vision of the snake? Well, that would remain between Nagini and me for now.

But one thing was for sure—I’d be keeping an eye on both Harry and Nagini. Things were about to get a lot more interesting at Hogwarts.
