Wouldn't you like to know?

Tom leaned back in his chair, stretching his legs out in front of him as he gave Harry an unimpressed look. The firelight flickered over his sharp features, casting shadows under his eyes.

Harry, still lazily perched against Teeth, took a slow bite of his chips, watching Tom with a gaze that was both disinterested and deeply amused. “So,” he drawled, swallowing. “What exactly has a sixteen-year-old Dark Lord been doing out in the world?”

Tom scoffed, resting his chin on his knuckles. “Wouldn’t you like to know.”

Harry raised a brow. “Yes. That’s why I asked, *Tommy.*”

Tom’s expression darkened instantly. "Harry—"

"—Riddle." Harry finished for him, smirking. "You were going to say my name like it was a threat. It doesn’t work on me, you know."

Tom inhaled sharply through his nose, visibly restraining himself. After a long pause, he exhaled and, in a clipped tone, answered, "*Networking.*"

Harry gave him a flat look. “What, like a businessman?”

Tom smirked. “In a way. There are certain... groups that are worth knowing. Alliances to consider. Information to gather.” He studied his nails, tone deceptively casual. "Not to mention a few people who needed... correcting."

Harry gave him a sharp, knowing look. “You killed someone.”

Tom only smiled, slow and smooth. “Would you be upset if I did?”

Harry tilted his head, considering. “Depends. Did they deserve it?”

Tom chuckled, low and pleased. “I think we both know the answer to that.”

Harry took another bite of his chips, chewing thoughtfully. “Fair enough.”

Tom watched him, gaze flickering over Harry’s relaxed posture, the easy way he sat curled against the inhuman warmth of Teeth. Something about the scene made his fingers twitch.

“You’ve been eating properly,” Tom noted, changing the subject.

Harry hummed. “Teeth makes sure of it.”

Tom’s expression twitched just slightly. “You let a creature dictate your meals?”

Harry smirked, half-lidded and lazy. “I let my *friend* care for me.”

Tom’s eyes narrowed slightly, but he didn’t argue. Instead, he leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees, and smirked. “And you? What have *you* been doing, Harry?”

Harry let his head tilt against Teeth’s shoulder, blinking up at Tom through dark lashes. His lips curled, slow and sharp.

“Wouldn’t *you* like to know?”
