The Letter.

Harry sat still, staring at the letter from the staff.

The question from them felt almost… mundane. They had asked about the monster. They had asked about Ginny. They had asked as though the whole thing was something worth talking about. But it wasn’t. Harry had dealt with it. He’d sealed the Chamber, and Ginny was safe. It was done.

His thoughts, however, drifted back to the events of that day.

The creature—Medusa—hadn’t been a threat to him, not really. And neither had the diary. Tom had been waiting there, twisted and stuck in the pages, but Harry had been there, too. He wasn’t a hero for saving Ginny; he wasn’t interested in that kind of recognition. He had his own reasons for keeping things the way they were. He had used the situation to his advantage. That’s all. He didn’t owe anyone an explanation.

He had revived Tom that summer, hadn’t he? Brought him back, a shadow in the form of a human boy, something strange and unnerving about it, yet it had felt... right. It had felt natural, in a way. Tom was always there now. Always. Watching. Waiting. And Harry had no intention of telling anyone about it. He was done with their questions.

The staff couldn’t touch what they didn’t understand. They thought they could push him for answers, but they weren’t his friends. They didn’t deserve to know. Medusa, on the other hand, understood. She was an old, ancient creature, and in a strange way, she offered him something more meaningful than anything Hogwarts had to offer. She was his, and he was hers.

Harry’s lips curled slightly.

He knew they’d try to dig deeper. They would want him to confess, tell them everything. But he would just give them his empty answers, his polite silence. He would say what they needed to hear and then withdraw, retreating into himself, letting them believe what they wanted to believe.

But Harry knew he wasn’t who they thought he was. And they would never understand the truth.

Headmaster Dumbledore,
Professor McGonagall,
Professor Lupin,
Madam Pomfrey,

Thank you for your letter.

As for the Chamber, I dealt with the monster and sealed it. Ginny is fine. I don’t see why I should elaborate further. You should be satisfied with that.

I’m afraid I can’t offer more. As for the rest, I don’t believe it’s necessary to go into further detail. The situation has been resolved, and nothing else of importance occurred.

If you need anything else, let me know.

Sincerely,
Harry Potter

Harry closed his eyes for a moment, breathing in slowly, feeling the weight of the quiet.

He wasn’t worried. He wasn’t scared. This was simply the way things worked now. The staff would ask, they would poke, they would pry, but in the end, he would give them just enough to get them off his back. And then he would move on, back to the things that truly mattered. Back to Tom. Back to Medusa. Back to Teeth.

They could ask all they wanted. But Harry knew they would never touch what was truly his.
