Saudade: (n).a nostalgic longing to be near again to something or someone that is distant, or that has been loved and then lost; “the love that remains”
Why is love so scary? Not just the actual love part but the whole idea, why is it so terrifying to even think about?
Is it because we’re new to love? Are we just not experienced enough to know what love really is? Hell it might be that our idea of love is muddled by what we’re exposed to.
No.
Well yes, all of that is true. But in the end, it all comes down to one thing: love changes your whole life, and you can’t ever get that back.
You’ll never be the person you were before you had your first love.
It changes you. It changes your entire being. You really don’t start growing until you fall in love for the first time. Until your first love breaks you.
Until your first love pulls you back together again.
That love builds you, it prepares you. It’s going to throw everything at you whether you are ready or not.
It’s coming.
And I can’t do anything about it.
