Tie swap
It was James potter's 5th year in hogwarts, James potter found himself sneaking out of his best friend's brother's dorm, Regulus. James put his shirt back on, glancing over at regulus. Who had fallen asleep. James glanced in a mirror and ruffled his hair. Good enough. He thought. Its like 9:30pm, who cares if my hair is messy? He grabbed his tie and shoved it in his pocket before grabbing his invisibility cloak and leaving the Slytherin dorms. He saw a blonde girl with glasses leaving one of the girl's dorm across the hall, she was wearing a ravenclaw sweater. He recognized that dorm, wasn't it sirius and regulus' older cousin Bellatrix's dorm? How'd she even get in? Sure, James snuck in with his invisibility cloak. But how'd a ravenclaw get in without one? James realized maybe he underestimated how clever ravenclaws could be.
He snuck out of the Slytherin common room as a Slytherin left. James walked back to gryffindor tower with his tie still in his pocket. He walked through common room and went to his dorm to find sirius and remus playing chess. Sirius looked at him with a hint of suspicion but mostly with his usual playfulness. "Where've you been, mate?" *James sat down* "Oh yknow, the usual. Practicing for the upcoming quidditch match." *Remus raised a brow at that, obviously not believing it but not pushing the matter any further.* "So, How's lily? Any luck?" *he said curiously. Which made sirius look up from putting the chess pieces away. Sirius had been curious about lily, they all had.* "Uh, well I-" *Sirius spoke up* "C'mon prongs, we're your friends. You know we wouldn't judge you." *James sighed* "Uh well y'know that ravenclaw a year younger than us? What's her name...Oh lovegood!" *Remus and sirius looked at him in confusion* "Yeah?" *Sirius said. James continued.* "Lily's sorta dating her." *there was an awkward pause of silence* *Remus spoke up* "Well that's okay, sorry about that, prongs." *James shrugged* "it's okay, anyways. Where's wormtail?" *Sirius got up from the floor and sat on his bed* "He's in the shower." *James glanced at the door, realizing the sound of the shower running that he hadn't realized before.* James and sirius were talking to eachother while remus read his book. James and sirius eventually ended up in a pillow fight then they realized it was probably time for bed. James got in his bed. "Night padfoot." Sirius replied, "Night prongs!" James glanced over at Remus and Peter's beds and realized that they had both fallen asleep. He went to sleep too, afterall. He did actually have quidditch practice in the morning, not just a cover up for hanging out with his boyfriend.
James got up early, per usual. As he was getting ready he realized he better wake up sirius, sirius. By no means was a morning person like James. "Padfoot! We have quidditch today mate." Sirius threw a pillow at him and rolled over in response. "C'mon, your gonna be late." *he usually had troubles getting sirius up early for quidditch practice. Sirius finally got up and sighed. "Do I have to..?" "Yes!" "Fine, I'll be ready in a minute prongs. Meet me at the pitch at 10?" "Yeah."
Remus and Peter were still waking up obviously, it was morning on a weekend. James was walking through common room and realized he forgot to put his tie on. He grabbed it out of his pocket without glancing on it and confidently tied it around his neck. He'd been doing this since 1st year. As James left the common room he was getting some really confused stares. He went to the great hall and sat down, while he was eating his breakfast remus sat down next to him. "Uhh hey prongs?" *James looked at remus, he looked confused and skeptical* "Yeah moony?" "Y'know you're wearing a slytherin tie..right?"
