Chapter 1
James was going to come out to his parents and was fucking terrified. He knew he had no reason to since they accepted Marlene and Sirius but that didn't stop his mind from wandering down the path of what if’s. James had to do this.
“Mum, Dad I have something to tell you” James said while they were all eating Dinner.
“What is it dear?” His Mum said looking up at how serious her son sounded.
“I like men”
Silence. James could normally understand silence but this one he couldn't as his parents looked at each other having what seemed like a conversation with their eyes.“What about that girl with the red hair?” His dad finally answered.
“I-i like girls-” James stumbled out confused before getting cut off.
“Lily, yes she’s quite pretty isn't she?” His mum replied, his parents having a conversation ignoring his attempt at talking.
“Now James it's okay to experiment in your youth like your mother and I did but it is just a phase” James didn't know how to reply. It was so much different to what he had expected from his parents who had accepted all his friends for who they were.
James looked down at his food, his eyes were watering as he replied “Yes of course I know” His appetite was gone. “May I leave the table”
“Yes” James left the table when his mother started talking to him again “ I love you James”
“ I love you too”
James was confused and felt alone as he walked to his room, tears slowly going down his face.
