Chapter 2
Jackie just laughed in disbelief from where she was sitting on her bed “You want me to do what now?”
Natalie had approached Jackie, another friend from school, after school and asked to meet at her house for a “makeover” which Jackie was all too excited to give. What Natalie had failed to tell her was that she was aiming to look like her cousin.
Van, who had come along for moral support and knew about the idea shrugged their shoulders. “It’s simple, Nat here wants to be the little Italian man she was always meant to be.” They go to ruffle Natalie’s hair as they say this and Natalie shoves them off with a laugh.
“Fuck off Van.” She said laughing before looking back over to Jackie who looked like she was still trying to piece together what exactly was happening.
“So let me get this straight,” Jackie looks at Natalie with a serious expression, “you want me to turn you into your cousin, who’s a guy, just so you can go join our rival school’s boys’ soccer team so you can beat our boys’ soccer team? Is that right?”
Natalie shrugged “Yeah pretty much,” she sights before continuing “Look you’re the only person that I know and trust to do this, I wouldn’t be asking otherwise.”
Shauna, who was sitting quietly on Jackie’s bed finally spoke up “You should’ve heard them Jax, they were complete dicks saying that women weren’t as athletic as men and laughing in our faces. I think you should do it so we can laugh back in their faces when Natalie kicks their ass at their own game.” Jackie sighs before looking back to Natalie.
“Alright I’ll do it. BUT you have to actually pay attention to what I’m doing so that way you can maintain the look ok?” Jackie asks and Natalie starts nodding vigorously.
“Yes Ma’am.” She grins at Jackie while giving her a salute.
Jackie rolls her eyes but has a small smile, “Let’s get started then.”

It took a couple of wigs, some side burns, a little bit of makeup, and a whole lot of arguing but they eventually turned Natalie into Nathan.
Jackie stepped back to observe her handiwork. “Alright what do you guys think?” she asked fixing Natalie’s bangs on her wig quickly before stepping back to show the others.
“He looks great Jackie!” Van claps her on the shoulder with a grin on their face.
“Holy shit Jax, you’ve outdone yourself.” Shauna was poking at Natalie’s face in disbelief and Natalie was trying to swat her away.
“Thank you,” Jackie blushed before turning to Natalie, “What do you think Natalie? Do you feel like Nathan?”
Natalie couldn’t stop looking at herself in the mirror. She looked exactly like Nathan now and it was fucking with her head. “You honestly did great Jack, thank you.” She smiled up at Jackie and Jackie smiled back.
“All you need now is to get some clothes and the voice down.” Van voiced from where they had sat down on Jackie’s bed.
“Me and Nathan wear around the same size so I can just steal some of his clothes while he’s gone. As for the voice though…” Natalie gets a concentrated look on her face before she looks around the room “How’s this?” She had lowered it just enough to where she wouldn’t strain her vocal cords but also to where she sounded enough like a guy.
“You honestly sound close enough to Nathan’s actual voice while you’re doing that, it’s freaky dude.” Van says laughing.
“How’d you do that” Jackie asks as she starts to pack up a makeup kit for Natalie to use at her soon to be new school.
“Oh, me and Nathan used to imitate each other all the time when we were younger to see if we could trick my aunt and uncle for shits and giggles.” Natalie explained. “guess it’s coming in handy now.” She grinned at the others while doing her “Nathan” voice again.

The next day Natalie had all of her stuff packed up to head out and over to Wiskayok Boarding School, all she had to do was get past her aunt Lisa and she was golden. Hopefully her aunt would be somewhere else in the house and she could just text her that she was gone.
“Where are you going?” And luck would not be on Natalie’s side because why would it?
“I thought I mentioned that I was going to stay with uncle Mike for 2 weeks.” Natalie tried when she turned around to meet her aunt in the dining room.
“No, you didn’t but I do hope you’ll go unpack so we can spend some time together since we didn’t really over the summer.” Natalie truly loved her aunt but now was not the time.
“Aunt Lisa, I thought about what you said and since Allie is gonna be around Nathan 24/7 I figured she could show me the ropes on the whole debutant thing while I’m at uncle Mike’s. “ Natalie shrugged hoping that her aunt would buy her lie.
Lisa’s face lit up with a smile “Oh my goodness this is so exciting” She grabs Natalie by the shoulders and starts walking with her to the front door entrance. “There’s the formal ball, and the luncheon, and the fundraiser next week. Did I mention that the fundraiser is going to be a carnival this year!”
Natalie’s eyes widened and she put on a fake smile “Oh wow, that sounds like fun!”
“Now Nathan promised to be there so make sure to remind him when you see him alright honey?” Natalie nods before she’s being swept up into a hug. “Oh my darling girl, you’re finally going to be a lady!” Natalie nods with a fake smile again before telling her aunt and escaping while she can.

Van ended up driving Natalie to Wiskayok Boarding School to drop her off. Natalie steps out in her uniform which consists of a black blazer, collared shirt, blue and yellow tie, and khaki pants. Natalie wore her Doc Martins since they were allowed to wear whatever shoes they wanted with the uniform.
She stepped out of the car and straightened her tie and looks around. Natalie panics before looking at Van who had gotten out of the driver’s side. “Are you sure I look enough like him to do this?” She whispers while looking around still to see if anyone is listening.
“Yes dude, you are going to be just fine. Just breathe and relax, you got this.” Van sends her a reassuring smile and it actually helps to calm Natalie down a bit. Van comes around to where Natalie is standing, “Now how're you going to introduce yourself?”
Natalie takes a deep breath, clears her throat a few times before putting on her “Nathan” voice. “Sup, my name’s Nathan.”
“Alright, now show me a little strut.” Van grins at her and Natalie rolls her eyes with a small smile before she walks like Nathan would. She looks back at Van to see them wiping a fake tear from their eye. “I feel like a proud father right now.”
“Shut up.” Natalie gives into the hug when Van opens their arms. “Thank you for your help, really.”
“Just pay all of us back by kicking ass Scatorccio.” Van smiles at her and sends her off with a final pat on the back.

After going through a hoard of guys, Natalie finally makes it to her dorm room. She’s met with three guys looking at her with strange looks. “Uh, hi. You must be my roommates.” Natalie walks further into the room and sets her stuff onto the only empty bed in the room.
One of the guys chuckles “What’s your name?”
“Nathan Scatorccio but you can call me Nat” Nat had figured it would be easier for her to respond to if she had her nickname and it’s not like it’s completely random so it works out for her.
“Travis Martinez” Travis goes to dap her up and she awkwardly follows through, she knew she need to practice that more. “This is Jeff and Randy, they live next door.” Natalie awkwardly waves at both of the guys before turning back to Travis.
“Hey do you know when soccer tryouts start?” She asks as she takes a seat on her bed.
“Noon, why? You play?” Travis and the guys are all looking at her with interest.
“Yeah, striker. Do you guys play?” Nat looks at them and Travis nods.
“Yeah, I’m center forward. Jeff and Randy are half backs.” Nat nods as she stands up to start unpacking her bag.
“Nice.” What she didn’t notice was that one of her boots that had her tampons packed in them had fallen out and the guys can see it.
“Uh why do you have tampons?” Travis asked with a horrified look on his face.
“I uh get really bad nosebleeds and stick them up my nose… yeah.” Nat stumbles through an explanation. “Why you’ve never done it?” All the guys shake their head no. “Beckaham does it all the time.”
“Really” Travis asked, looking like he wasn’t really buying it.
“Yeah you just take that off and this and then you stick it right in.” Nat shrugs once the tampon is in her nose and she feels stupid but she’s too deep now. All the guys start laughing at her and Nat know this is gonna be a challenge.
