Rules suck

“That’s not fair!  You already watched the show!” Vi said with a gasp, sitting up and pointing at the TV.

Actually, it is fair, I said I never watched the newest season of MILF Manor.  Then you took bets on it and I won!  Now get on the floor-“ Caitlyn pointed.

Vi and Caitlyn still hung out as friends.

Tonight, they were in Caitlyn’s huge ass penthouse, watching MILF Manor because Vi showed Caitlyn a TikTok of the newest season!  Then Vi bet that one of the woman’s boobs we’re fake and Caitlyn bet that they weren’t and here they are!

But Caitlyn said if she won, Vi would let her braid her hair!  So now, Vi was sat next to the front of the couch while Caitlyn had both legs on each side of her, pulling her back so Caitlyn could try and braid some of Vi’s hair!

“It’s definitely cheating, but I’ll allow you to win this once.  Don’t think I’ll let it happen again.” Vi pointed a finger up.  This made Caitlyn laugh.

“Yeah, yeah, sit still-“

Caitlyn has introduced Vi to a lot of things!  Expensive hair product that made Vi smell like flowers, but no hair damage.  As well as Caitlyn gifted Vi some cologne!  Making sure to say: I don’t think you smell bad, but you mentioned wanting something new and I like this scent.

I like this scent.  Vi now wore Caitlyn’s favorite scent everywhere they went!  And they both enjoyed that.

This also introduced a lot of PDA since they hung out a lot and talked, but there were some things Vi did that made Caitlyn feel… hoesnlty really good.

When walking in crowds, Vi made sure her hand was on Caitlyn’s lower back, leading her through crowds.  A hand on her thigh or around her chair, even if paparazzi wasn’t around.  They agreed to this, but… it was almost natural and on instinct.

But…

When they agreed to this agreement.  Vi was emailed a set of rules she had to follow.  It want nothing weird, mainly publicity-

-Be professional at all times.

-No being rude, no matter what or who

-Comply with dress code

-Punctuality, be on time

-PDA is a-okay!

-No physical or verbal fights

-No speaking of the arrangement to anyone

-No excessive drinking

-Be proper if you can

-If you have a problem, speak to me

And usually, these seemed easy!  But…

Vi didn’t expect herself in this… predicament.

Vi has had her fair share of assholes.  Assholes who flirt with her too much, assholes who think they're big game, or assholes who harass her friends.

But Vi isn’t allowed to fight with these assholes anymore since she is a public figure now!  Basically.  Caitlyn’s words, No arguing back to mean people, or no getting upset at paparazzi.  Guess it was known Vi had an anger problem.  But today was different.

Vi kept her job at the cafe.  She worked less shifts for school, but she wasn't going to let Babette fall out of business due to having a rich… friend now.

It was a normal day when some dude and two girls walked up.

“Oh my god, are you Vi?  Kiramman's new partner?” One of the girls spoke up with a gasp, the other girl catching on.

“Y-Yeah!  I am.  And no, I can’t get her your autograph, sorry.” Vi said as a joke, and it landed, causing the two girls to laugh.

“All good, you’re just prettier in person.” One girl said, causing Vi to clear her throat and whisper a ‘thank you.’

“So, how is she?” The guy spoke up.  What?  Vi looked at him with a raised eyebrow.

“You heard me, how is she in bed?  I heard she was a whore before becoming CEO.  Just wished I got a piece of that.” He grinned.

“Excuse me?” Vi asked.

“Dude- sorry about him he’s just-” and the girl trying to pull him back was cut off.

“She’s too run through for my type though, glad you got her tied down.” He finally added.

Nope.  No.  Caitlyn said- fuck what Caitlyn said-

Vi quickly jumped over the counter and grabbed his shirt, turning him around.  She pulled one hand off to absolutely punch the fuck out of the guy.  People were quick to get up and start recording.  Vi then shoved him back against the counter.  He threw a punch that Vi took like a champ, only for him to get more mad and throw another punch.  Vi dogged it this time, turning him around and bending him over the counter, keeping him down with an arm bent behind his shoulder.

“You wanna say that again?” Vi whispered before Sevika was pulling her back and the two girls started pulling him out of the shop.

“You’re a fucking bitch!”

“Yeah?  And you punch like one!”

Vi’s rage began to go away when she realized everyone was staring.  Shit.

-

Caitlyn was mad!  Very mad.  Angry, frustrated, absolutely pissed off.

Steb was currently driving her to Vi’s workplace.  The footage spread fast and Caitlyn’s team was trying to lighten the blow.

Caitlyn was silent the whole ride until they parked.  She got up, made her way calmly to the front door and stepped inside.

The cafe was cleared out and closed for the night.  Vi sitting at a table, patting her now bloodied shirt with a towel.  Then she looked up.

Fuckfuckfuck-

“You have to be fucking kidding me!” Caitlyn began.

“Cait listen-” Vi stood up.

“No!  I won’t listen!  It’s already everywhere as we speak!  I gave you one rule!  Don’t freak out!  Don’t get mad!” Caitlyn started pacing back and forth.

“Cait if you’ll just let me-”

“I won’t, Violet, I’m upset.  This is going to fuck a lot of things!  I’m trying to help you, but if someone getting upset over coffee gets you this riled up-”

“He called you a whore.”

Vi finally spoke out, almost yelling.  It caused Caitlyn to pause, her hand held up slowly lowering as she stared, waiting.

“He called you a whore, called you ran through.  I wasn’t… fake or not, I wasn’t going to let him badmouth you, I’m sorry.” Vi apologized before she dropped her head.  She waited.  She waited very long.  Then a pair of arms wrapped around her.

“Wha…” Vi looked up and was met with Caitlyn’s face.  Eyes and face softened.  Eyebrows furrowed in sincerity.

“No, I’m… I’m sorry for barging in here…” Caitlyn shook her head slowly before they were both met with silence.

“Thanks… for protecting me.” Caitlyn finally spoke up, Vi just pulling her closer into a hug, face buried in her shoulder.

“I’m sorry if I fucked things up and it’s okay if you want to… drop the agreement.” Vi whispered.

“No.”  Caitlyn was quicker.  “I won’t… I don’t want to do that.  Just…” Caitlyn stepped back, hand on Vi’s shoulder before her other hand took the towel and wiped Vi’s bloody nose.

“Be more careful, next time.  I care about you a lot.” Caitlyn whispered.  Her eyes were on Vi’s nose for a minute before she looked at her eyes and- oh she was already looking at her.

“Of course.” Vi smiled.

And that started a conversation where Caitlyn wanted Vi to get body guards!

They were currently headed to Caitlyn’s, but Caitlyn brought up “what if I got you a ride to class instead?  With Steb or something-“

That made Vi scoff.

“Caitlyn, I literally host a boxing gym.” Vi said.  What?

Caitlyn looked at Vi quickly.

“I know you snooped on my Instagram, I did the same to you, I host a boxing class on Saturdays.  I haven’t been due to… y’know, you.” Vi said, tilting her head to the side a bit.  Caitlyn sighed, rubbing the back of her neck.

“Do you want to change your schedule so you can go back?  We can do less events?” Caitlyn said.

“What?  No way!  I have more fun sitting at a boring event with you than getting punched in the face by a 9 year old.” Vi shook her head.  “But, I can happily host Kiramman Industries CEO.” She looked at her with a smile.

“Oh- I cannot box.  I barely look cute doing cardio in the morning.” Caitlyn shook her head, cheeks going a bit pink at the thought of being in a gym… alone… with vi… in nothing but tank tops and shorts-

“Cmon- it’ll be fun!  Maybe you’ll let me join you for your morning gym sessions too-“ Vi nudged her.

“What?  You want to come watch me run for an hour?” Caitlyn raised an eyebrow.

“Caitlyn, you could roll around in mud and still look gorgeous.” Vi stated, like it was an obvious fact.  They made eye contact once Caitlyn looked up and it was clear both of them were reading into the compliment-

“We’re here.” Steb opened the back door, pulling them out of their thoughts-

-

Well, with enough convincing, Caitlyn was moving down the street to ‘Last Drop Gym’.  Vi explained Sevika opened it in honor of ‘The Last Drop’ bar back in their hometown!  But it looked nicer than a bar.

Vi made sure the place was empty so it was just her and Caitlyn!  Steb stayed by the front door, guarding.  Caitlyn moved inside and was greeted with the sounds of boxing gloves hitting a boxing bag.  She looked up and wow- the sight of Violet Lanes.

Vi threw her last punch before turning her head and smiling, her serious demeanor dropping.

“Ready for your first lesson?” Vi asked with a grin, moving over to take Caitlyn’s duffle bag from her, moving to sit it on some chairs.

“Ready than I’ll ever be…” Caitlyn mumbled, eyes searching around the place before Vi came back into view, holding a pair of boxing gloves?

Dark blue and white boxing gloves that matched Vi’s red and white ones.  And on the side?  The Kiramman crest threaded in with a gold thread.

“A gift.” Vi whispered.

“Wha- how did you find this?” Caitlyn gasped, pointing to the crest.

“I may have stolen your dads number and texted him.  Don’t worry, I just asked for the crest… and got some very cute teenage Caitlyn pictures-“ Vi winked.

“He’s a traitor.” Caitlyn rolled her eyes before she smiled.  “Thank you Vi, these are gorgeous.” She whispered.

“I threaded it myself, used Columbia U’s sewing machine.  That thing was so dusty.” Vi mumbled.  Caitlyn admired it before following Vi over to a small table near the wall of the boxing area.

“Lemme show you how to wrap your hands.  It’s so your knuckles and wrist are protected.  Boxing gloves get the job done- it’s just more protection.” Vi said, holding her hand out, Caitlyn holding her right hand out.  Vi began to slowly and very carefully wrap Caitlyn’s hands.

Wrap around the thumb, “thumb first,” then moved to wrap her knuckles, “knuckles, so the CEO can still sign her fancy contracts,” a laugh from Caitlyn before Vi wrapped her wrist, finishing and taping.  “Wrist just for fun.”  Vi then did Caitlyn’s left hand then helped her put the boxing gloves on!

“Too tight?  Too loose?” Vi asked, patting the fist part of the glove, Caitlyn shook her head.

Vi walked her over to the punching bag and patted it, rubbing some powder chalk on it!

“What’s that for?” Caitlyn asked.

“Just for fun, it looks cool.” Vi said, smiling.

And their boxing class began!

Vi started off with punching.  How to actually punch because she started laughing when she asked Caitlyn to punch her.

Cmon punch me.” Vi turned, holding her bicep out.

“I’m not doing that.” Caitlyn said.

“What- cmon!” Vi patted her arm.  Caitlyn huffed before throwing a punch.

“Are you serious?” Vi asked.  Caitlyn rolled her eyes.

“Really hit me.  All your strength.” Vi said.

Caitlyn threw a punch.  “Harder.” Vi said.  Another punch.  “You can do better than that.” Vi said.  Another punch.  “Okay, now you’re hurting my feelings, really go for it!  You’re not gonna hurt me!” Vi said.

Caitlyn finally threw her last punch, causing Vi to stumble back a bit.  “There we go!” Vi cheered.

The rest of the time was mainly punching back stuff.  Kicks, jabs, dodges.  It was actually very fun in Caitlyn’s opinion.  She was learning a lot about Vi!

“So your sister just snuck into a school and blew up the science lab?” Caitlyn asked, throwing punches at the punching bag as Vi stood on the other side, keeping it still, but peering her head to the side so Caitlyn could see her.  So she could see Cailtyn.

“Yep.  My small town in Georgia was pissed off.  For weeks, Vander had to work extra at the bar just to pay for it.  Jinx went to an alternative school.” Vi shook her head with a small laugh.

“That sounds so fun.  I went to some stupid private prep school, it was boring and full of girls.” Caitlyn shook her head.  “Well, not that boring once hormones hit.” She mumbled.

“Talk of the town?” Vi asked.

“Could say that.  Gold diggers who loved my BMW or my longer fingers.” Caitlyn winked at Vi.  Vi just scoffed and gave a laugh.

“What about your first relationship?” Vi suddenly asked.

Caitlyn stopped punching, but hands still up in position.

“I was 17 with my first real girlfriend.  Her name was Julie.  Julie Cortez.” Caitlyn began as she looked at the punching bag.  “We dated from 17 to 23, she moved away to California with a dream and I… stayed here.” Caitlyn fell silent.

“But hey, first loves are gut wrenching.  I cried for a few weeks then continued on with life.” Caitlyn shrugged.

“You?” Caitlyn asked.

Vi rubbed the back of her neck.  “Okay I… I haven’t been lying really, but… I never dated much because I spent… 4 years of my life in prison?”

What!?” Caitlyn yelled, moving to the side to fully see Vi.  Vi’s eyes widened.  Like when she mentioned her parents.  Caitlyn was reading it all over her face.  Vi was not a criminal.  Caitlyn knew that.  Vi was the sweetest most caring person she ever met.  But what Vi was… was someone trying to be more open.

“I’m an open book.” Caitlyn finally said, moving to take her hand out of her glove to reach for Vi’s hand.

They decided on taking a break!  Moving to sit down and sharing a water bottle.

“It was a year after my parents died, I just turned 15.  I… I wanted to help Vander because he now had 4 kids to feed.  I broke into a jewelry store, hoping I could clean and pawn what I got, but being stupid, I tripped the wires and just… ran.” Vi said with a sigh.  Regret.  Caitlyn reached over to hold her hand.  “The cops were fast and unfair.  This… the sheriff, Marcus.  He knew I was trouble, but… he gave me a 4 year sentence.  It was… it was…”

Injustice.” Caitlyn said.  Vi nodded.

“A shoplifting charge immediately when to bank robbery somehow.  15 year old me was forced out of high school and I didn’t get back til I was 19.  When I was 20, I got my GED barely.  Prison records aren’t the best.” Vi whispered.

“I’m sorry you went through that, Vi.  That’s… that’s awful.  Your parents then prison?  Did you… did you ever get grief counseling?” Caitlyn asked.  Vi shook her head.

“Prison just kept me sane somehow, it’s where I got all my fun tattoos.” Vi said with a small laugh.  “But it’s all good-“

“No it’s not.” Caitlyn sighed.

“Look, I-“

No, Violet, listen to me.” Caitlyn sat up a bit and looked into Vi’s eyes.

“You’re holding so much inside.  You’re a dam about to break.  It’s okay so say ‘I’ve been through a lot and it’s not okay’.  I promise, you’re allowed to be upset.  You’re allowed to be mad and be pissed off.” Caitlyn spoke.

“You’re… you have a good heart, Vi.  You’re an amazing person, and what you gone through?  I couldn’t ever think of keeping a smile after that.” Caitlyn shook her head.

Vi just stared at Caitlyn.  This felt… so nice.  There… she didn’t have to put up this front.  She didn’t have to say some lie to protect her siblings.  She could… she could breathe.

You have a good heart.

It was like something pinged in her heart.  Vi’s eyes started to draw tears, Vi’s eyes bouncing from both of Caitlyn’s eyes as she spoke.  Do it.

Vi moved quick.  Both hands moving to Caitlyn’s face, pulling them both closer to each other.  Caitlyn’s eyes widened a bit once they were.

“Vi-“

“Can I kiss you?” Vi whispered.

It was silent.  A few beats more and Vi would t ran out-

“Yes.” Caitlyn whispered back.

It was mere seconds before Vi pulled Caitlyn into a kiss.  It was… amazing.  Their lips moved together, slowing down to hold a kiss before moving more into each other.  Caitlyn’s hands moved up to Vi’s wrist, just holding.  Not pushing or pulling.  But they both knew they both wanted this.  They both wanted this.

They both slowly pulled away from the kiss, faces still close, breath against each others vicinity.  Their shoulders and chest moving up and down, trying to calm down their breathing-

“Caitlyn, we need to get going.” Steb’s voice broke the tension between each other.  Vi slowly moved her hands as she leaned back.  Caitlyn moved to stand up, looking at Vi.

“I’ll see you… I’ll see you in a few days.” Caitlyn said… her lips forming a smile.  Vi couldn’t help but smile up at her.

“Y-yeah, I’ll… yeah…” Vi rubbed the back of her neck as she watched Caitlyn leave the gym quickly.

Vi couldn’t help but let out a small giggle.  What was this feeling?  The feeling of… having someone who understands you so well… also someone who matches you completely?  LoveRomanceHappiness.
