The summer was finally over which meant it was time to go home to their clubs. Christen and Julie had been doing for about 2 months already. Unlike some of the couples they didn't have to live in different cities they both lived in Chicago. However they lived in different apartments Julie had roommates and Christen didn’t have any. For the first time in 2 months they would be sleeping alone they didn't always sleep in the same bed but always in the same room.
Christen and Julie arrived to Chicago went to their favorite coffee shop spend several hours together before having to go their separate ways. They said goodbye and ended it with a gentle kiss on the cheek.
JJ arrived and to her apartment to a little surprise party her roommates were throwing for her to celebrate that she had won. She was attacked by them with hugs and tons of beer. JJ finally made it to her room quickly got undressed and took a quick shower and head to bed. She wore Press Stanford hoodie and attempted to sleep but it was impossible she tossed and turned the whole night thinking of Christen her room felt lonely and huge when in reality her room was a median size room. around 4:30am she grabs a pillow to cuddle and finally goes to sleep had to wake up at 7am to go to practice.
Unlike Julie Christen arrived to an empty apartment no dog no people mainly no Julie. Headed towards her shower stands their enjoying the warm water hit her back. After her long shower she grabs Julie’s Santa Clara hoodie to attempt to sleep. She couldn’t sleep it was to quietly she didn't have anyone on her bed cuddling with her and grabbing her hand randomly through the night. Christen became annoyed of the fact she couldn’t sleep because she was missing her girlfriend. She rolled out of bed around 4ish to herself a sleeping tea 30 minutes Press was knocked out on her couch. She wakes up at 7am to get going for practice. She had woken up to a phone full of messages from her girlfriend.
My Girl : Baby wake up !
My Girl: Baby I miss you wake up I want to hear your voice already
My Girl: I can’t to see you
And the messages went on and on until Christen finally called her girlfriend who was already waiting outside her apartment with her favorite coffee. Christen runs to her door and lets Julie in giving her a couple seconds to put down the drink to hug her like they hadn't seen each other in months it hadn't been 24 hours.. JJ cups Christen’s face and places a gentle kiss on her girlfriend's lips who clearly accepted but JJ pulls back and says “Babe we have to go to practice we can't be late on our first day back” Christen didn't like the idea that they had to leave but got over it soon.
Practice was long and hard both World Cup champions were trying to catch their breath during the whole training. The team was extremely happy to have them back on the pitch with them. After getting dressed Christen invite Julie to go over for some food. They hop into JJ black jeep throwing their gym bags into the back sit and drive to Christens apartment which was only a 10 minute drive from the field. They walked very slow since they were too sore to move any faster once they get to the apartment JJ suggest they get some pizza and watch netflix. Christen ends up all up on Julie taking up all of her girlfriends personal space. which Julie didn’t mind at all they were finally able to get some sleep after a long night the day before and an tense training. The hardest part of their days was when they had to leave each other.
4 months go by making it a total of 6 months of them dating. They were still not out to their teams club nor the national team they liked it that way but they figured it was time to tell their families.. Since they had already moved in together since they were bestfriend for the longest time. JJ came up with the idea to tell their families all at once so they didn't have to repeat themselves twice or tell their families alone. It took them .5 seconds for them to grab their phones and call their families to catch a flight to Chicago ASAP they had something important to tell them.
