He made it worth it
Jude just wanted to see her husband.
After the fight both of them had done their royal duties of the day.
Separately.
She didn’t know if it was on purpose or not but she hadn’t had the opportunity to talk to Cardan since then.
Gosh, why was it so difficult for a wife to see her husband? It was like everyone felt the urgency to complain about their problems with her today.
She was still thinking nonstop about the fight with Cardan, it was entirely Jude’s fault that Cardan was angry at her, no one else’s. That’s the reason why she did not tell anyone about it, even though she might have needed advice on how to approach the problem.
However, she would solve the things with Cardan once she was done with her duties. Once they were alone in the privacy of their room.
So, after a very long and tedious meeting with the council, Jude found herself on her way to the Court of Shadows to get any important information they could have gathered and finally get done with her work.
She really was hoping to talk it through that night, and that it could be something they would later laugh at, sitting together in the Palace gardens, with their hands interlinked and her head resting on her husband’s shoulder.
My God, she had last seen him a few hours ago but she missed him so dearly. It was still scary to love him immensely, but he made it worth it.
With that in mind she walked even faster through the corridor.
When she entered she found only The Bomb cleaning the place. Liliver noticed her immediately
“Your Majesty,” she said with a smile.
“Hello, Bomb. How was everything today? Anything important that I should know?” Jude just wanted to get finished with it, but yet Liliver was her friend and it was nice to see her after a long day.
“Not really, we haven’t heard anything from the lower courts, though The Roach intercepted a note from the kitchen and is investigating it now, I'm sure it is nothing” The Bomb said calmly.
“Alright then, if anything happens don’t hesitate to tell me. I’ll be in my bedroom” Thankfully, she finally would talk to Cardan. “Goodbye! Have some rest.”
Jude made her way to her room after that, happy to see her husband and fix things between them.
Little did she know that if she had stayed a bit more, she would have seen The Roach arriving so worriedly to the Court of Shadows, with a paper in hand.
Revealing a plan to kill the High King.
