Chapter 19
Bismuth smiles brightly as she approaches Rose. "Rose!" Bismuth's eyes drop to Rose's pregnant stomach and she raises her eyebrows. "Woah, Rose! Congratulations!"
Rose smiles as she wraps her arms around Bismuth's wide shoulders. "Thank you Bismuth." As she pulls back, she regards her friend. "What are you doing here?"
Bismuth half frowns, half smiles at the question. "My dad wanted to come back. Not the most ideal to return in the middle of the year, but hey." Bismuth shrugs her shoulders before her eyes lands on Garnet. "Who's your gorgeous friend?"
Garnet arches an eyebrow behind her shades. "Garnet."
Bismuth smiles brightly at Garnet as her eyes roam over her body. "Nice to meet you." Bismuth stretches out a hand for Garnet to shake.
Garnet regards Bismuth's hand before she shakes it. "Same." Garnet faces Rose. "Meet you in the cafeteria."
Rose nods her head. "Thank you again Garnet."
Garnet nods her head before she turns and walks away.
Bismuth's eyes travel after Garnet. "She's cute."
Rose giggles before she loops her arm around Bismuth's. "So, what have you been up to?
Bismuth laughs, loud and hearty as she stuffs her hands in her pockets. "Nothing much, but after I graduate, my uncle is hiring me at his blacksmith business."
Rose smiles brightly. " That's great! I'm so excited for you!" Together, the two walk towards the cafeteria.
When they reach the cafeteria and get their food, Rose leads them towards their table. It wasn't long before Garnet and the others showed up.
"Garnet, what a pleasure to meet you again. You truly are a beautiful sight," Bismuth says as she lifts Garnet's hand to her lips.
Garnet allows her with a raised eyebrow, but she could feel a pair of golden eyes on her. When she looks up, she spots Yallo running her hand down Jasper's arm.
Jasper growls as she slams her tray down on the table. Garnet had been absent from their first two classes together. She remembers Rose had a doctor's appointment and asked Garnet to go with her.
She didn't know why Garnet being absent bothered her so much, but it did.
"Yo Jasp, have you seen Garnet?" Amethyst asks as she sits her tray down next to her big sister.
"Nah. Why would I?" She growls out.
Amethyst shrugs her shoulders. "Thought y'all had class together."
"We did. She wasn't there. She went with Rose to her doctor's appointment."
Amethyst lifts her eyebrows. "Oh shit. Forgot about Rose's appointment."
"Yeah," Jasper growls out as Sugilite, Opan and others join the table.
Before Amethyst could reply Yallo approaches Jasper. "Hey Jasper."
Jasper raises an eyebrow as she turns to face Yallo. "What's up?"
Yallo gives her best flirtatious smile. "I just wanted to congratulate you on the win. I couldn't find you after the game to do so." Yallo ran a hand from Jasper's shoulder down her arm.
"Thanks Yallo," Jasper says as she notices Rose and a new girl with rainbow dreads sit down a few tables ahead of them before Garnet joins them.
Yallo frowns, grips Jasper's face and turns her to face her. "Let me properly congratulate you if you're free after school, that is."
Jasper regards Yallo but out of the corner of her eyes, she can see the new girl being a little too touchy feely with Garnet. She growls as she focuses back on Yallo. "Thanks but I'm good." Jasper turns back to face the table. "Who's the new girl?"
Everyone's eyes turned to look at Rose, Garnet and the new rainbow haired girl.
"Oh, that's Bismuth, she's like a childhood friend of Rose," Amethyst answers.
Jasper scowls as she watches as Bismuth lifts Garnet's hand and places a kiss on it.
"Are you sure Jasper, we'd be so good together," Yallo questions again.
Jasper doesn't look at Yallo as she speaks,"I'm good, but thanks for the offer."
Yallo frowns deeply as she looks towards Garnet and Rose. "I see, so you like Garnet!" Yallo raised her voice, causing a few heads to turn towards their direction.
Jasper raised her eyebrows before her hand clapped over Yallo's mouth. "Say that shit again and you won't be able to speak," Jasper growls.
Yallo wiggles away from Jasper and laughs. "So it's true. The big bad Jasper likes the reclusive Garnet." Yallo looks over at Garnet and smiles. "Seems likes the new girl got to her first though."
Jasper didn't reply but grimaces at the statement.
"If you still want that congratulations, come find me." Yallo ran her hand down Jasper's arm as she stands and walks away.
Sugilite frowns. "What the fuck was that?"
"Did Yallo just flirt and threaten you at the same time?" Amethyst questions.
Jasper fumes. First Lapis, now the new girl. Nothing to worry about. Then Yallo has the nerve to pull that stunt. Jasper growls before she slams her fist on the table causing her tray full of food to go flying.
Jasper abruptly stands and storms out the cafeteria, students scrambling to get out of her way. She didn't bother looking back but she could feel eyes on her back, especially her eyes.
