I know that not everyone is a big fan of zombie apocalypse but trust me, the story will not be about survival only. If you've read my stuff, you know how messy my books get xd

Wednesday parked in Yoko’s garage, just leaving the van near the exit just in case they needed to make a run for it. Enid looked into the glove compartment, pulling out the gun that belonged to the bodyguard. She saw the little girl eyeing it, so she quickly reacted.

-Yok, can you take her? I need to be able to defend us if needed., said Enid, the kid sitting on her lap in the passenger’s seat.

-Uh yeah. Sure?, replied Yoko, unsure.

-I’ll take her., said Bianca with a soft smile.

Enid nodded and opened the door, handed the kid to Bianca. Everyone got out of the car, wanting to go upstairs to Yoko’s place.

-Okay so uhm, you do realize you kidnapped her, right?, asked Yoko with a frown.

-What? No. Her mother was dead. There was no one else around. If I had left her there, she would have been dead by now, Yok., replied Enid confused.

-Well, whenever everything goes back to normal, you could get in trouble for it. That’s all I’m saying., shrugged Yoko.

-Back to normal? Do you think we’re in some sort of hopeful movie where they’ll have a vaccine in like three days? This is real life. She saved that kid. Cut her some slack. Now let’s go to your place before we get surrounded by those…things., said Wednesday, stepping in unexpectedly.

Enid and Yoko both turned to look at Wednesday. Yoko seemed somewhat ashamed of the fact that Wednesday had intervened and gone against her. She went quiet after that and just took her keys out. Enid gave Wednesday a weird look before just walked into the hallway, up to the stairs, her gun out.

-Hey, you., said Enid, looking at Bianca.

-My name is Bianca., frowned the girl.

-Right. Sorry. Bianca, can you cover her eyes? I don’t know what we’re about to see but it won’t be pretty., stated the blonde.

The girl just nodded and placed her hand on the kid’s eyes. Enid then started leading the way upstairs, looking out for any sort of noise or scent, even any trace of blood. She walked up the stairs with her gun out, going up to the third floor where Yoko’s apartment would be. She pushed the door to the hallway open, happy that they hadn’t encountered anyone yet. They were walking to the apartment when they heard a voice from afar.

-Hello? Is- Is someone there?, asked a voice.

Yoko stopped and turned round.

-It’s coming from the elevator., stated Wednesday plainly.

-Yoko, let them into their apartment, I’ll check this out., said the blonde as they were standing in front of the door.

Yoko did as told, unlocking the door and letting everyone in quickly. Enid walked down to the elevator door and knocked on it.

-Who’s in there?, asked Enid.

-Ajax., replied the voice.

-Are you hurt?, wondered the blonde.

-No. But the doors won’t open. I’ve been stuck for two hours now., sighed the boy.

-I’m gonna look for a tool or something to force the doors open. Stay here., said Enid, using humor to calm him down.

-Ha ha, very funny., replied Ajax.

Enid could still hear a smile though. She walked to Yoko’s apartment and went to the kitchen, going through the drawers.

-What are you looking for?, asked Yoko with a frown.

-I need something thin but solid. The doors won’t open and Ajax is stuck inside., explained the blonde as she kept searching.

-Does uh, a sword work?, asked Yoko.

-A sword? Why on earth would you have a sword?, chuckled Enid.

-Well, it was supposed to be a surprise but…I got you a real sword for your birthday. It’s identical to the Godric Gryffindor sword., shrugged the best friend.

Enid raised her eyebrows in surprise, but was clearly more than happy with the idea of getting a sword.

-How-, started Enid.

-I dated a blacksmith a few years ago. We ended in good terms., shrugged Yoko.

-Okay, yes. Go get the sword please., nodded the blonde quickly, remembering the boy in the elevator.

Yoko nodded and walked away quickly. Enid looked around, seeing Bianca talking to the little girl and Wednesday was petting Buddy. That was surprising. Buddy hadn’t even let her pet him. But he just let Wednesday? Maybe it’s because she smells nice. Wait what? Who said that?

-Here’s the sword., said the girl as she handed it to Enid.

-Don’t be mad if I break it?, tried Enid.

-You’re saving Ajax. I won’t be mad. Just go., sighed Yoko.

-You’re the best., smiled the blonde as she grabbed the sword and rushed to the elevator.

She pushed the sword between the door of the elevator and sighed.

-Alright. Just, stay back. Don’t want to stab you or something., said the girl as she pushed the sword deeper.

-Thanks for the heads up?, replied Ajax confused.

Enid then started pushing the sword to the right, praying that it was solid metal and it wouldn’t just break. The doors started to make noise and move a little.

-Hey, try pressing the button to keep the door open, you know?, said Enid as she kept trying to force the doors open.

-Okay. Yeah., replied Ajax as he moved to the buttons and kept it pressed.

Enid continued to push until the door opened automatically. Ajax quickly got out and let out a sigh.

-Fuck, that was insane., said the boy.

-You good?, asked Enid as she looked at him.

-Yeah. Thanks. Alright, I should leave. I’m already late for work., said the boy.

-Late for work? Ajax, do you not know what’s going on outside?, frowned the blonde.

-What? What do you mean? Oh, don’t tell me there’s fires again., sighed Ajax.

-No. Well, yes. But no., replied Enid, confusing him even more.

-What is going on then?, frowned Ajax.

-You should uhm, come with me. To Yoko’s apartment. We’ll explain it to you., said the blonde.

-No, I want to know now., stated Ajax clearly.

Enid sighed and shook her head, not sure how to explain that there might be an apocalypse happening right now.

-There’s like…an outbreak…like…zombies?, tried Enid.

-What?!, said Ajax with a high-pitched voice.
