A/N: hi there! you might know me from my other Wenclair book 'Risk'! I will now be writing this unusual book for my favorite ship. I know that not everyone is a big fan of zombie apocalypse but trust me, the story will not be about survival only. If you've read my stuff, you know how messy my books get xd

Yoko took her time to explain to Ajax what had happened while he was stuck in the elevator. They stayed inside the apartment and just sat down in the living room, looking at each other and waiting for someone to say something. Enid finally broke the silence.

-We can’t stay here., stated the blonde.

-What? Why not?, frowned Bianca who was sitting next to the kid.

-Because we’re going to run out of food eventually and then what? First place everyone will go to is supermarkets and malls. Raiding and getting supplies to survive., said Enid with a sigh.

-Well, why don’t we do that?, asked Yoko.

-Seriously? Aren’t you the zombie movies specialist? You wanna avoid crowds and noise. Guess what the mall will look like., replied the blonde.

-We need to go live in the nature., stated Wednesday randomly.

-You mean like camping outdoors?, frowned Bianca.

-Those things will go where people are. Cities. Villages. But not forests or in the wildlife in general., said Enid with a shrug.

-Well, we’re in the middle of nowhere LA. We don’t really have forests where you can just go around hunting deers and stuff., replied Enid as if it had been obvious.

-We’ve got a van. We just need some supplies and then we can make out way to the forests., replied Wednesday.

-But where? I don’t know about you but I’m not really built to be living or surviving outdoors., frowned Bianca, exchanging a worried look with Yoko.

-That won’t be an issue. I have a house in the middle of a forest., shrugged Wednesday.

-What? Why?, frowned Enid, looking at her.

-Because I wanted one? What better place to be creative than surrounded by nature and away from civilization?, shrugged the smaller girl.

-Is it secure?, asked the blonde instantly.

-It is. It has a gate around it. And We could also fish, there’s a lake nearby., confirmed Wednesday.

-Perfect. Everyone, grabs backpacks, grab things that could useful. We’re leaving in 20., said Enid as she got up.

-Wait- Uhm. I have an idea., said Ajax from the corner.

The girls turned their attention to him, waiting for him to elaborate.

-The old man who lives next to me. Apartment 3C. He’s on vacation right now. He asked for my help with his tv once and well, he’s an old veteran. A commander or something. He probably has things in his apartment we could use., stated the boy.

-I’ll go take a look. Go pack your things. Mine are still packed since I never unpacked., said Enid as she grabbed the sword and walked towards the door.

Wednesday just followed her without saying a word.

-What are you doing?, wondered Enid with a light frown.

-I’m coming with you. I will already have my stuff at my house. I don’t need to pack. So I’m gonna loot his place with you. Is that an issue?, asked Wednesday, raising an eyebrow.

-Uhm no. No. Not an issue., replied Enid as she opened the door to the hallway.

The smaller girl walked up to the door, took her bobby pin from her hair, got on one knee and started picking the lock. Enid just watched her confused. Where on earth does a famous person learn how to pick a lock? When Enid woke up this morning, nothing could have her prepared for all of this. Not only the apocalypse literally unfolding in front of her eyes but also the fact that the random stranger on the plane that she had argued with, would end up sticking around because of…let me check my notes…because of fucking zombies. Yup. Just another normal day. Nothing weird.

Enid got snapped out of her thoughts when she heard the lock clicking. The door opened and Wednesday got, just walking inside the apartment. Enid followed her in, looking around. She saw pictures of the old man with family members. He looked somewhat amicable yet serious at the same. Even in the pictures with, what Enid guessed, his grandkids. The blonde then started to make her way to his room, knowing that’s probably where he kept some useful equipment. Veterans are often paranoid and therefore keep things close to them. And she was right. There was a holster on his nightstand. She grabbed it and immediately put it on without hesitation. She opened the drawer of his nightstand, finding an army knife which blade was probably the size of her palm. She folded it and put it in her pocket.

-Hey blondie. You should come see this., said Wednesday from another room.

Enid rolled her eyes at the random name, but following her voice anyway. She looked for Wednesday and then walked into a random room she was in.

-What?, sighed Enid.

-Turn around., said Wednesday, motioning something behind her.

The blonde sighed and did as told. She then turned around and raised her eyebrows. A shelf with trophies and medals along with pictures of the man, holding a bow.

-We need to find that bow., said the blonde instantly.

-Way ahead of you., replied Wednesday, motioning some keys with a bow and arrow keychain.

The keys to the basement.

-Good. We’ll go there before leaving. But first, I know that he’s hiding guns here somewhere. I found a holster and some bullets in his drawer. Look for any loose cupboards and stuff., ordered Enid as she walked out.

-Wait up. I know where his things are., replied Wednesday as she followed her out.

Enid stopped and looked at her, waiting for her to explain or reveal where his weapons could be. Wednesday just walked past Enid without even looking at her and back to the living room. The smaller girl walked up to the tv stand, moving it to the side and revealing a hole in the wall.

-Woah. How did-, started Enid.

-The TV cable is not plugged into anything., shrugged Wednesday.

Enid walked up to her and reached into the wall, pulling out a pretty large box. She opened it, seeing a few pistols, an assault rifle and a hunting rifle. Jackpot. Enid closed the box again and looked at Wednesday.

-We need to find a lock., said the blonde.

-What? Why?, frowned the smaller girl.

-We have a child with us. We can’t risk her getting her hands on any of this., stated Enid with a frown.

-Hm. You’re not wrong. Although, I should ask you where my bodyguard’s gun is., replied Wednesday.

Enid frowned and then realized that she had left in on the kitchen counter of Yoko’s apartment.

-Shit., said the blonde as she was ready to leave.

Wednesday stood in front of her and stopped her, putting her hand on the blonde’s shoulder.

-What are you- Oh., started Enid but she quickly went quiet when she saw that Wednesday had grabbed the gun.

-Be more careful., said Wednesday, for once not meaning it in a menacing way but in a genuine way.

Enid just looked back at her and nodded, confused by the change of behavior yet not complaining. She took the gun back and put it in her new holster, thankful that it fit, making sure that the safety was on.

-Okay so, the lock?, said Enid with a sigh.

Wednesday just walked up to a chair where a random tie was placed on. She walked back to the box with the tie and the wrapped it around the holes meant for a lock, making a secure knot.

-Not bad., stated the blonde.

-I know., replied Wednesday before walking away and out of the apartment.

Enid sighed and looked at the box, now realizing that Wednesday had left her to carry it alone. Great.
