Enid had 12 more minutes left on that plane, sitting in first class with a famous stranger. They had avoided any political or serious subjects, not wanting to get into all that on a plane. Enid was eventually getting too comfortable.
-So, what’s the most insane interaction you’ve had with a famous person or with a fan?, wondered the blonde, sipping on her soda.
-My fan are either respectful introverts or stalkers., shrugged the stranger.
-Stalkers? But, at the airport, there was a crowd-, started Enid.
-Those were paparazzi and weirdos trying to get an autograph or a picture so they can sell it online. Those are no fans., replied the girl.
-Well, then what about an insane interaction with a famous person?, repeated the blonde.
-Hm. I once caught an employee watching me sleep in my trailer. They were a creep and kept trying to ask me out. It was exhausting. They even left notes in my trailer and love letters. They felt more like threats., shrugged the girl.
-What? Did you call the cops on them?, frowned Enid, now worried.
-No. They aren’t harmful. And now I don’t have to deal with them anymore, so it’s fine., replied the stranger nonchalantly.
-But it could turn into a stalker situation., replied the blonde.
The girl simply shrugged, seemingly not caring about the potential danger she could be in.
-Wow, I didn’t think someone could be so proud to the point that they would rather be in danger than acknowledge the danger. And here I thought you were smart., replied Enid.
-Excuse me? Do not insult my intelligence, you prude little nincompoop., scoffed the woman.
-Oh great. Here we go again., sighed Enid, rolling her eyes.
-You’re the one that started insulting my intelligence., shrugged Wednesday.
-Maybe if you acted smarter, I wouldn’t., replied the blonde.
The stranger shook their head in disbelief and looked out the window, ignoring Enid’s presence for the rest of the flight. The blonde could not have cared less. Once they landed, she grabbed her backpack and walked out the plane as soon as she was allowed to. She walked into the airport and then waited for her duffel bag along with the other passengers. She caught the girl walk to another section, her bag already in her bodyguard’s hands.
-Of course she can’t carry it herself., scoffed Enid, talking to herself.
The blonde eventually got her duffel bag and walked outside, getting a taxi. Yoko was working right now, so she couldn’t pick her up just yet. Yoko’s neighbor would open the door for her. Or least that’s what they had planned. So, Enid waited outside for a taxi until one finally stopped for her. She put her stuff in the trunk and then got in, giving him the address. As he drove away, she could see a black van with tinted windows. She knew exactly who was inside. That is when she remembered that she still didn’t know the stranger’s name.
She took her phone out and started looking for her, trying to find her face on a random social media post or some article. Yet, it was in vain. As famous as she may be, Enid did not manage to find her or figure out who the girl was. She eventually shrugged it off, making a mental note to later simply ask Yoko. The girl was always up to date with every celebrity ever. She would probably know who she is.
Enid eventually arrived in front of Yoko’s building. She paid the taxi driver and got out with her stuff. She looked at the tall building, surrounded by many other tall buildings. Enid didn’t even remember the last time she had seen a skyscraper in real life. The blonde walked up to the building and looking at the names of residents to find the neighbor who was supposed to open the door for her. Ajax Petropolus. Weird name. She pressed the button and waited for them to buzz her in. After a few seconds, she heard a voice.
-Yes., said a male voice.
-Hi. I’m Enid Sinclair. My friend Yoko said that you would open the door for me?, replied the blonde, now unsure if she had rang the right bell.
-Oh! Right! Sorry!, replied the boy.
She then heard loud buzzing and she pushed the door open. She followed Yoko’s directions. Straight to the elevator, go to the third floor and then to the left of the elevator. Number 9. She made her way to Yoko door and then looked around, not sure if Ajax was on his way here or not. She then heard a door behind her open.
-Hi., said the same male voice.
Enid looked at him and greeted him.
-Hello. Are you Ajax?, asked Enid.
-The one and only., chuckled the boy.
-So you have the key to Yoko’s apartment?, wondered the blonde.
-Yes, here it is. Do you need a hand with your luggage?, asked Ajax with a polite smile.
-No, I’m good. Thanks., replied Enid as she took the keys that he handed her.
She turned around and unlocked Yoko’s door, opening it. Enid looked at the strange boy and nodded.
-Thank you. Have a nice evening., said the girl.
-Uh yeah, you too. Was nice meeting you., nodded Ajax, clearly checking her out.
Enid held herself back from making it clear to him that she was a lesbian. She walked inside Yoko’s apartment and closed the door behind herself, locking it. She went through the hallway and was met with a small animal, looking at her discreetly. The blonde smiled and got on her knee.
-Hi buddy. It’s me. Enid. You heard me and saw me on Yoko’s phone., chuckled the girl.
The young Australian Shepard looked at her, tilting his head as she spoke. He didn’t move though, staying on his bed and watching her.
-Alright, I’ll give you time to warm up to me., said the blonde.
She grabbed her luggage and walked to where she knew the guest room was thanks to her many hours on the phone with Yoko. She set her luggage down and then let herself fall on the bed. She was more than exhausted. Enid closed her eyes and fell asleep short after.
