I know that not everyone is a big fan of zombie apocalypse but trust me, the story will not be about survival only. If you've read my stuff, you know how messy my books get xd

Four years ago, Enid Sinclair, a 18 year old young woman, joined the army for more than one reason. She had gone through countless months of various types of trainings. Having joined the Marine Corps, known as an elite force of the army, Enid had gone through many changes. Physically, emotionally and psychologically. You’ll see. But for now, it’s 2pm she is in a taxi cab to the airport. Enid was going to LA to visit a friend. Or well, crash at the friend’s place. Yoko didn’t mind of course. They had been friends for many years, having gone through the highs and lows together. Even though they took completely different paths in live, one a marine, the other a photographer, they never lost touch. They called every Wednesday evening. 11pm for Enid. 8pm for Yoko. Yoko was thriving, working as a photographer who specially does photoshops for some company. Enid was suffering.

Enid got out the taxi cab after paying the man and thanking him. She walked into the airport, going up to a big screen to search for her flight information. She noticed a weird crowd in the middle of a check-in. She didn’t question it, walking to her assigned check-in to hand in her luggage. Once done, the blonde made her way through security and then to her gate, sitting down in a corner and watching planes take off and land every few minutes. She was quite early, the anxiety from possibly missing her plane making her get to the airport two hours before her flight.

Enid made sure her backpack was locked, placing it between her legs and then she leaned back, closing her eyes. She managed to doze off for a little while.
Enid was sleeping peacefully in the corner, hugging her backpack to keep it from being stolen until someone bumped into her foot. She opened her eyes and looked up.

-Sorry!, said a boy as he passed by her and ran towards yet another crowd.

Enid frowned a little, curiosity getting the best of her. She got up and looked at the crowd, trying to figure out what was going on. She could clearly see flashes, pictures being taken. The blonde wasn’t sure what or who they were taking pictures of. Probably some influencer or celebrity who didn’t bother to go to the VIP lounge. But somehow, that person was let through the gate first, a flight attendant guiding a smaller person, followed by what Enid assumed was their bodyguard. Then it was everyone else’s turn to get on the plane. She walked to her reserved seat, sitting down and looking out the window. She was only sitting for a moment when a stewardess got her attention.

-Excuse me, Miss., said the woman.

Enid looked up at the woman, questioning if she was sitting in the wrong row.

-Yes?, asked Enid.

-The mother who will be sitting in your row has asked if you’d like to exchange seats? We have a free seat in the first class for you., explained the stewardess.

-First class?, questioned the blonde, not sure if this would end up being a scam or something of the sorts.

-Yes. I can show you to your new seat if you’d like., smiled the woman.

Enid sighed a little, not completely convinced but also knowing she should do it for the mother who had asked for it. She got up and nodded, grabbing her backpack. The flight attendant walked down the plane with Enid until they reached the first class. The woman guided her to a seat and pointed at it.

-This is your seat, Miss., said the woman.

Enid looked down, seeing two empty seats.

-Which one?, questioned the blonde.

-The alley seat., chuckled the stewardess.

Enid nodded and sat down on her new seat, looking around herself. She could see countless of new gadgets that she knew she would be trying out in her next 5 hours. She smiled to herself, not minding her seat upgrade. She noticed the small TV screen in front of her and decided to check what was on it. She started scrolling through it, putting a few movies on her list to watch later.

Suddenly, she started people getting loud and murmuring things all over the plane. She wasn’t sure why, looking around and seeing people getting their phones ready. Enid quickly realized that it probably meant that the famous person from earlier was approaching. She decided to just leave them alone, knowing that they had enough people asking for pictures and staring at them with crazy eyes. She simply went back to browsing for movies. Enid then heard someone clearing their throat.

The blonde looked up and saw everyone looking at her and the stranger who was standing next to her. Enid understood what it meant, just getting up and giving the stranger some space. She watched as the young woman made her way to her seat next to Enid, sitting down by the window. People were still trying to record or take pictures, which the blonde guessed was annoying. She saw back down, basically shielding the stranger from any unwanted pictures. Enid glanced over at the girl, quickly looking away when she looked back at her.

All she had to do was mind her business was the next five hours. She had no idea who this young woman was. She didn’t even dare to ask her name or speak to her. Enid didn’t want to bother her or seem crazy. She just leaned back, put the seatbelt on and started a movie. She had chosen to watch Wicked since she was still upset that Cynthia and Ariana were snubbed at the Oscars. She put her earphones on, pressed play and focused on the movie.

That was until she noticed that the girl next to her was clearly watching the movie with her. The blonde wasn’t sure what to do, so she simply too her right earphone out and offered it to the stranger. The young woman looked at her, not saying a word. She scoffed and rolled her eyes, reaching into her backpack and pulling out a book. Enid frowned at that, not sure why she had reacted that way. The blonde shrugged it off and went back to her movie.
