Home is Where Your Heart is Set in Stone
It seemed way longer than half hour when Yuu finally heard a small shout from the kitchen, but, as he looked at the clock, he realized it had actually only been about twenty minutes.
“That didn’t take as long as you sai-” he spoke as he entered the kitchen, and his sentence trailed off as his face heated up.
Guren had Shinya gently pushed up against one of the wooden cabinets with a hand settled on his waist. Shinya had a hand tangled in Guren’s hair, while the other hand was at his side, still holding a dripping ladle.
Yuu watched for a moment, his mouth open slightly as he watched Guren gently grind against Shinya, causing the latter to whimper softly. It dawned on Yuu that he had not been called to the kitchen, and his brain floundered slightly as he slowly started to back up. Thanks to his fabulous luck, he slipped and fell straight on his ass, which caused a small gasp to emit from his mouth.
As quiet as it was, Guren had heard, and he practically flew away from his husband, leaving Shinya confused against the cabinet. Shinya spotted Yuu and his face almost could have been mistaken for a tomato. Embarrassed apologies flew from his mouth as Yuu stood up.
Yuu tried to hide his burning face as he muttered a small, “Sorry…”
After his half-assed apology he attempted to slip out of the room, but instead he bumped into Guren, who seemed to have the same idea.
Yuu stumbled back in surprise, which, once again, resulted with his ass planted to the floor. Guren smirked softly and looked like he was about to laugh, but his eyes landed on the bright red face of Shinya, and he kept his mouth shut.
The couple locked eyes for a few seconds before Shinya shyly turned his face away and went back to their dinner, “D-dinner is done.” he squeaked out.
Yuu slowly stood as he watched Guren head to the dining room table. After Guren had seated himself, Yuu sat at the chair farthest away from him. Shinya stepped over and set a plate down for the three of them, and Yuu noted that he avoided eye contact with the both of them.
After Shinya sat down, they all started eating quietly. Yuu slowly retrieved the papaya drink from his pocket and set it on the table. He saw Guren’s eyes narrow slightly, and he forced himself to keep a straight face as he slowly unscrewed the lid. The drink smelled heavenly, and he licked his chapped lips slightly. He’d almost completely forgotten how thirsty he was.
He took one sip.
And instantly regretted it.
Sure, it tasted okay at first, but the aftertaste tasted the way sweaty socks smelled. He forced himself to swallow and gagged very slightly, and it earned him a confused look from Shinya. Yuu tried to ignore his eyes as he shoved curry in his mouth, trying to get rid of the disgusting taste.
He looked over at Guren and scowled slightly. The asshole’s shoulders were shaking with silent laughter as he covered his mouth with a slightly tanned hand.
After furiously shoveling the rest of his food into his mouth, Yuuichiro abruptly stood up and started to walk off, but Guren grabbed his wrist, “Put your dishes in the sink, brat.”
“Let go of me, you bastard!” Yuu cried as he tried to yank his wrist away. Unfortunately for him, Guren had an iron grip.
As Guren tightened his hold, Yuu flinched slightly and stopped tugging. The older man raised an eyebrow and slowly released the young boy’s wrist, which he then cradled with his other hand.
“Is something wrong with your wrist?”
“What?! Of course not! Aside from you nearly breaking it, you asshole!”
“Then let me see it.”
Yuu impatiently held out his arm and allowed Guren to roll his jacket sleeve up.
On the boy’s tan wrist, a circle of white surrounded a clearly too tight charm bracelet. Said bracelet looked small enough to be an eight-year-old’s, and there were faint flecks of blood on the tarnished silver, as if it had dug too deep on multiple occasions.
“Are you done?”
Without waiting for a reply, Yuu yanked his arm away and pulled his sleeve back up before grabbing his dishes, tossing them in the sink, and rushing out of the room.
