Note
Wow, now that I reread this, I realize it's even shittier than I gave it credit for.

I'd Rather be Causing the Chaos

It took a few days, but Yuu had a new family. He wasn't thrilled about it either, but alas, that's what happens when you let your pride get the best of you. He'd waited for Shinya and Guren to sign the papers, and now he was sitting silently in the backseat of Guren’s car.
Yuu noted that Shinya seemed to be the ‘mother’ of this family, which would make Guren the ‘father’. Though Yuu swore he would never think of him as such. To him, Guren was just an asshole. Nothing more, nothing less.
Shinya looked back at Yuu, “Are you hungry?”
Truthfully, he was.
Was he going to say that?
Of course not.
“No, I'm not.”
Yuu’s stomach growled and Shinya sighed slightly, “What do you want to eat?”
“I told you I'm not hungry.”
“Would you stop being such a damn brat?” Guren said as he pulled to a stop at a small white house.
Yuu soundlessly got out of the car and looked at it. It looked… Cozy.
The young boy jumped slightly when he felt a hand on his shoulder, and he whipped around to find Shinya giving him a curious look, “Is there a reason you’re glaring at our house?”
“W-What?! I wasn’t glaring!”
Shinya emitted a small ‘oh’ and shrugged. “Sorry,” he said as he walked to the door.
Yuu cautiously followed his ‘mother’ inside and took a look around. It wasn’t incredibly fancy, or spacious, but it was simple and small. It reminded him of the orphanage, but cleaner.
Yuu hadn’t even noticed that Shinya had left the room, until he heard him shout softly from the kitchen, “Guren! I’m making curry for dinner, but I don’t think we have any onions! Can you go out and get some?”
Guren had just barely stepped through the door before he answered back with, “Onions!” and rushed out the door.
Yuu glared at the retreating car through the window on the door before slipping into the kitchen, where Shinya was sitting on the counter with a piece of toast in his mouth, chewing contently.
Yuu ignored him and opened the fridge, scrounging for something to drink. It wasn’t long before he spotted a glass bottle with a piece of tape over it that said ‘Guren’. He slowly pulled it out and angled himself so Shinya couldn’t see what he was holding, just in case.
He pulled the tape off and stuck it in the fridge where he had pulled the drink out, and after closing the fridge and stepping away, he slipped the drink into his jacket pocket.
After a moment’s hesitation, he hopped up on the counter next to Shinya and kicked his own feet softly.
An awkward silence settled between the two, and Shinya cleared his throat softly to break it.
“So…”
Yuuichiro glanced at the silver-haired man and raised his eyebrow, “What?”
Shinya shrugged gently, “Not sure. I just thought you seemed bored.”
“I am.”
Just then, a door slam echoed throughout the house, and footsteps approached the kitchen. Guren appeared a moment or two later, a bag of onions hanging from his hand. After passing the bag to Shinya, he kicked off his shoes, and Yuu heard them hit the couch in the living room.
Shinya gave Guren a disapproving shake of the head and Yuu giggled slightly. Shinya really was like a housewife.
Guren turned his head and glared at Yuuichiro, and Yuu glared back. They stood still with locked eyes for a few moments before Guren shrugged and walked out.
“Jeez, what is with him?” said Yuu as he rapidly blinked, for his eyes had felt incredibly dry.
“It’s just how he is,” was the only response Shinya gave him.
“Gee, thanks, that explains everything.” he shot back.
The older man sighed and slipped an apron on before tying it loosely around his waist, “Dinner will be ready in about half an hour.”
Assuming Shinya wasn’t going to tell him anything about Guren, he slipped out of the kitchen, pouting, and flopped on the couch. As he did so, something jabbed him in the side, and he sat up. Remembering that he’d shoved the drink in his pocket earlier, he extracted it and examined it once more. It seemed to be papaya flavored, and it was limited time only, too. As far as he’d seen, it was the only one in the fridge, and he couldn’t wait to see the look on Guren’s face when he realized it was gone.
He didn’t know what made him hate Guren so much. He just.. Did. Just seeing the guy’s face pissed him off beyond belief. No, wait, scratch that. He knew exactly why he hated Guren. The way he acted like he was so smart, and the way he acted like he knew Yuu made him furious. That damn bastard didn’t know a thing about him. Except how to piss him off, of course.
