True Love

A soft knock was heard on the front door and immediately [Y/N] was on her feet with the brightest of smiles.
“He’s here!” She exclaimed but before she could make for the front door her father held up his hand.
“Hold it right there.” He ordered with a smile of his own as he stood up from his chair, “I need to talk to this boy.”
“Daddy!” The [h/c] haired sixteen year old protested.
“[Father’s Name], go easy on the poor boy for your daughter’s sake.” Her mother said from the couch, pausing in her knitting to give her husband a stern look.
“I need to find out what this boy’s intensions with my little girl are.” The older man remarked, walking to the front room to answer the door.
“Hello sir.”
She couldn’t make out any of the conversation from where she stood in the living room and hoped that her father wouldn’t scare her date away.
“[Y/N]!”
She nearly ran into the front room when she heard her father calling but managed to keep herself in control, her smile only growing when she saw the boy standing by the front door with a bouquet of [favorite flower].
“Be home by eight.” Her father said then sighed as he gave his quickly growing daughter a hug and watched as she left with the brunette senior.

“James,” [Y/N] giggled when she felt a pair of strong arms wrap around her from behind, “shouldn’t you be at practice?”
“I should.” Bucky confirmed, burying his face in her [h/c] locks and inhaling her scent.
“When what has brought you to my backyard?” She asked, leaning her head back to rest on his shoulder.
“I missed you doll.” He answered with a grin, pressing a soft kiss to her cheek and smirking when he heard her giggling again.
“It’s only been thirteen minutes since school let out. What could you possibly miss in that amount of time?”
“Your smile. Your laugh. The way you smell. The way you run your fingers through my hair. The way your eyes sparkle when you know I’m misbehaving.” He emphasized each statement with a sweet kiss to her face as he turned her to face him until his nose was resting on hers.
“You know you’re going to get in trouble again.” [Y/N] pointed out, placing her hands on his shoulders as she looked up into his captivating blue eyes.
“You’re worth it sweetheart.” Bucky promised then brushed his lips over hers.

She gave an audible gasp as the football fell to the ground and one of the defensive linemen from the other team was quick to jump on the ball. The couch for the Avengers called a timeout and [Y/N] could practically hear the man yelling at her boyfriend. Apparently the couch said something that Bucky really didn’t appreciate because the brunette was soon storming off the field leaving the back-up quarterback to take his place.
“I wonder what happened.” Becky, her best friend, said from beside her but [Y/N] was already on her feet.

“James!”
She was out of breath but had managed to catch up with him by the time he was halfway down the street. Grabbing his hand she managed to pull him from whatever place his thoughts were in and he stopped, turning to face her with a look in his eyes she had never seen.
“What happened?” She asked, lacing her fingers with his.
“He said I couldn’t see you anymore.” Bucky growled.
“Fury can’t tell you what to do.” She said though fear was evident in her voice.
“No he can’t, and if he thinks I’m gonna leave my girl for a stupid game then he has another thing coming.” He huffed, wrapping his arms around her waist and pulling so she was against him, “Nothing is taking you from me.”
~*~
His hands rubbed over her swollen stomach, smiling when he felt a thud against his palm.
“Someone’s happy.” [Y/N] giggled.
Bucky said nothing in response but continued to run his fingers over her skin until his hand had found its way to hold her face. He couldn’t believe he was lucky enough to have her, sure they had gone through their rough patches with the war in all but ever since he was eighteen [Y/N] had been by his side and asking her to the fall dance was the best move he ever made.
“What are you thinking?” She asked curiously, knowing that faraway look in his eyes all too well.
“How you’re the best thing to ever happen to me.” He answered, smiling down at her and wishing he could listen to her musical laughter all day.
“Is that so?” She asked playfully.
“You know it doll.” Bucky answered, leaning over and pressing a tender kiss to her lips before pulling away when he felt their baby kicking.
His hand moved over her stomach once more and the most precious smile crossed his face as he felt their child kicking against his palm. Her hand was over his then and he looked up at her.
“Be honest,” [Y/N] said with a soft smile, “tell me what you want.”
“Doll you outta know.” Bucky responded, leaning forward so his lips were hovering over hers, “I want a little girl as beautiful, amazing, and perfect as you.”
His lips were on hers once more in another tender kiss that could have lasted the rest of their lives and he wouldn’t have minded.
