Chapter 11
Elphaba sighed in relief as she half- sprinted out of her classroom at around 8PM. She looked around, and to her luck she was in the clear. No Glinda bothering her and making her a nervous wreck as she tried to act... Normal...? She started walking slower, careful to not draw attention to herself, until she heard the all-too familiar noise of boots clicking against the floor aggressively, making it all too obvious who it was.
"Elphie!!" Glinda yelled, she was running full speed toward Elphaba yet again... (At this point, Elphaba thought she was just seeing Deja vu...) She managed to stop herself before hitting Elphaba and hugged her instead. Elphaba felt a lot warmer literally any time Glinda touched, or hugged her. (It could be that confusing feeling she felt about her, but who cares) Elphaba hugged Glinda back very swiftly, before pulling her back to see why she was so... clingy right now.
"Glinda, you okay?" Elphaba said and was shocked to see a crying Glinda.
"E-Elphie... I'm so sorry that i took a photo without your permission at all...." Glinda said. Elphaba wondered why, or even how Glinda was so worked up over something that simple. She put one of her hands on Glinda's cheek, and started... Laughing?
"E-Elphiee! It's not funny! I invaded your privacy!" Glinda yelled, she was now wiping her tears with the sleeve of her sweater, and her bottom lip now stuck out in a pout. "Ms. Thropp, i have no clue why or how you can live bullying your fellow co-workers like this!" Glinda added, Elphaba was now laughing even harder.
"Okay, okay. I'm very sorry I did that, and stormed away after you called me... Err..." Elphaba trailed off, her face started to flush a slight shade of violet, and Glinda smiled at Elphaba before hugging her again.
"Cute?" Glinda asked, a bright smile spread across her face. It was like she wasn't just sobbing and leaning over Elphaba for emotional support.
"Y-Yeah, sure... Whatever that word is." Elphaba mumbled.
"Okay, Elphie. Whatever you say..." Glinda mumbled. She smiled happily and pulled herself back.
"O-Oh. Erm... So I'll see you tomorrow?" Elphaba mumbled, smiling at Glinda. Elphaba noticed how she would start stimming when she got nervous, and how she looked down whenevershe was waiting for an answer. Elphaba realized she just had noticed this, because Glinda was doing that very thing.
"M-mhm..." Glinda mumbled, she started nervously stimming with the edges of her sweater sleeves.
"Yeah, I'll see you tomorrow, bye Glinda." Elphaba said, and hugged Glinda one last time before she walked back to her car.
Glinda felt a nice flush creep up her face, maybe Elphie... Did like women. Maybe all her attempts weren't just... Useless, and Elphaba had a chance of liking her back. She popped open a of grape soda, and started drinking it while she drove back to her apartment.
Glinda's apartment was... A contrast to her art room. She had most of the stuff organized, but the rest was scattered. It made the apartment feel cozier, even if she did have a spare room. (Not like she was hoping a mysterious attractive green person would ask to roomie with her or anything...) She plopped her stuff down, set up her home laptop, and started making a snack bowl while watching a show. She liked gummies, and very surprisingly (Not) She loved to absolutely drown her coffee in cream and sugar.
"Hmm... i wonder what Elphie would think about how I like my coffee..." Glinda muttered, smiling. She then stopped herself and almost tripped over herself. She had to stop obsessing- or... er... yeah, obsessing, over Elphaba.
"I need to get a grip, sheesh." Glinda said. She felt a flush creep up her neck, and onto her face. She didn't stop it this time, since she was alone.
She smiled to herself. Elphie and she would probably make a good match... When she would think about it, it was a pretty good combo. She was dangerously attractive, and Elphie was... Attractively dangerous, in a very good wa- Stop! She had to stop. She was getting ahead of herself. She needed to calm down.
Glinda scoffed, and grabbed the bowl of snacks, and the laptop. She let herself get lost in the show, smiling and laughing at the good parts. She loved slow burn romance like this. Awkard, sad, happy at times, and when it finally would happen, and the couple would get together... It would all be worth it.
She was peacefully watching the show, until a few annoying bangs came from the door.
"Glin! You're not watching the show without me... Right???" Fiyero yelled.
"Uh... No?" Glinda yelled back; she walked over to the front door and started to unlock it. maybe she did, but she could still act like she didn't. And it still would trick Fiyero anyways. It wasn't like- that he would burst out in anger at her just watching the show.
"Oh my gosh finally." Fiyero said calmly as the door finally opened.
"Mhm." Glinda mumbled. "Yeah..." She finished as she let Fiyero in.
"I'm going to guess your daydreaming about how attractive Elphaba is." Fiyero stated, crashing onto the couch.
"Wh-What?!" Glinda yelled; her face immediately flushed into a pink identical to her shirt. "No. I am NOT. I'm thinking about how good the show is going to be." Glinda says,
"Yeah, yeah. Let's get started! I'm so excited to watch gay men kiss!" Fiyero said happily, smiling aggressively. Glinda scoffed at him, and started back up the laptop. She hid the screen from him so he wouldn't find out that she actually watched it without him for like- the first two seasons while she was waiting for him.
"Mhm, yeah. I'll get it started. No excuses to skip the embarrassing parts though." Glinda said, looking at Fiyero with a very not amused look.
"But its just so... Embarrasing! Like- how do you bear it..." Fiyero responded, scoffing at Glinda.
"Because. The last time you avoided an embarrassing scene, you missed so much plot you didn't even know what the hell was going on for the rest of the three episodes based off of the scene, fucking idiot." Glinda said, glaring back at Fiyero with twice as much force.
"FINE. Whatever you say, mom." Fiyero said sarcastically. They both already knew he was still going to hide either way.
"Yeah. I know I'm right. Let's just get started now." Glinda said, and sat on the couch.
