Chapter 7

Glinda was ready to go back by the time the weekend was over. She enjoyed cheering up her students, they gave her encouragement to exist sometimes. She put her stuff down on her desk and finally remembered to go over to the staff room, and grab some coffee. Glinda eventually made it over, and saw some other teachers, but booked it over to Elphaba, who was sipping black coffee near the coffee machine.

Glinda saw the way Elphaba tensed when she started coming over, she saw the way she looked so happy and surprised.

"Glinda, hi. How was the rest of your weekend?" Elphaba asked. She looked back over to Glinda and hid her face soon after, but Glinda noticed something... The tips of Elphaba's ears were... Red? Glinda started to smirk and started to make her own coffee.

She decided to test the waters very carefully, just to see what will happen.

"Oh, i don't know... Wouldn't you like to find out, Huh?" Glinda asked in a playful way as she finished her coffee, making Elphaba choke on hers. Glinda smirked, and walked out as Boq and Fiyero came in, and eyed the both of them as Elphaba's face was red, and Glinda was amused.

Elphaba was flustered, and oh how it made Glinda smirk. She had never known how much of an effect she had on her until now.

Glinda eventually made it back to her room, and opened the drawer with the canvas, and Elphaba on it. She smirked, and took out the canvas, and watercolors to paint the rest of the small canvas. She pulled herself back into the painting and finished it by the time school started. She put it back in the drawer.

Eventually, Glinda put on a few videos on anatomy for her class to watch, as she zoned out. Did Elphaba take the hint? Or was she just imagining it when her ears were red. Either way, she kept zoning out.

"Ms. Upland?" One of the students asked.

"Uhm... Yes?" Glinda asked, perking her head up and smiling.

"The video ended, are you going to teach us something now?" The student asked, surprising Glinda.

"O-Oh, yes!" Glinda said and smiled. She was so distracted; she hadn't noticed that the video had even ended. She got up and continued on with her lesson.

A few minutes after giving the students the lesson, she gave them some time to draw, and drank some coffee, and thought until the bell rang.

"Make sure to remember the eye proportions!" Glinda yelled and breathed a sigh of relief as she slumped back in her chair. She then got back up, and repeated the same thing again, but to a new class.

Eventually, by the time the lunch break strolled on over, Glinda smiled when she saw Elphaba stumble through with Fiyero.

"Oh Glinda, please help me right now, hes going crazy..." Elphaba said, leaning on Glinda for support as Fiyero hit her shoulder.

"But it was SO Funny!" Fiyero said, howling with laughter.

"What even happened...?" Glinda asked, tilting her head and looking confused.

"Fiyero dropped coffee on Boq, and Boq flew into a trash can because of it." Elphaba said. She looked disappointed in Fiyero as he laughed harder.

"Oh, is he okay?" Glinda asked, giving Fiyero a death stare that immediately shut him up. Elphaba smirked at this and grabbed an apple from her lunch bag. Elphaba was now pulling out her phone from her bag.

"Kind of, he's just going home for the day." Elphaba said, smiling at Glinda as she took a bite from her apple. Glinda sat next to Elphaba, their knees brushing. Elphaba was checking somethig on herr phone now, and Glinda felt a little bit nosy.

"What are ya doing?" Glinda asked and looked at Elphaba's phone.

"Oh, just looking at some stuff." Elphaba said, she turned her phone to Glinda, which had a photo of Boq in a weeb phase.

"Yes, it's Bo-" Elphaba was cut off by Glinda's howling laughter. Elphaba frowned at her, and rubbed her temples with her palms as she heard Fiyero start dying with laughter as well with Glinda.

"O-Oh MAN!!" Fiyero yelled, and Glinda leaned on Fiyero for support.

"Guys, calm down-" Elphaba said, the phone still in hand before she shoved it in her bag.

"Okay... I-I need to eat." Glinda snorted, before grabbing her sandwich. She took a bite and savored the flavor as she watched Fiyero and Elphaba banter.

Elphaba was teaching her class, and was explaining more things for the essay, and let her class start to write. She sat back down on her desk and sighed when she put her head down on her desk. A few more days until she could take a leave and do anything else. But alas... She sat up in her chair and took notes on things she was going to assign next.

She usually felt this empty, and... It just felt weird now. Why was Glinda being so nice right now? Elphaba would think to herself the rest of the day.

Eventually, the schoolwork was over, and Elphaba found Glinda. The clomping of her boots caught Glinda's attention, and Glinda seemed very happy and... Nervous to see Elphaba. Elphaba was a little confused by this but still walked over to Glinda happily.

"Hey, Glinda. Your arm okay?" Elphaba asked, looking at Glinda.

"H-Huh? Oh- yeah." Glinda said, smiling sweetly. Elphaba smiled back and felt a flush creep up her neck. She was starting to kind of understand what she was feeling toward Glinda, but she still thought it was wrong. (It was probably the childhood trauma that made her think this)

"Anyway, Elphie... I don't really have anything or anyone to hang out with, so... err..." Glinda paused, and a pink slowly dusted her cheeks.

"Yes?" Elphaba asked, wondering what Glinda was about to say.

"Iwouldreallyappreciateitifyoucameovertomyhousetodayandhangoutinatotallyplatonicway" Glinda mumbled, making Elphaba chuckle. Glinda seemed, and looked very nervous for Elphaba's answer, so she started walking backwards.

"Glinda, yes I'll go." Elphaba said, and nudged Glinda gently where the bandages on her arm were and walked over to her car.

She was very excited to go.
