Chapter 14
Sasuke was already in a bad mood. Being stuck in Naruto’s office instead of out on missions was frustrating enough, but Naruto had been acting weird lately—fidgety, distracted, and worse, staring at Sasuke when he thought he wouldn’t notice.
And now, as if his day couldn’t get any worse, when a woman with red hair had shown up.
She waltzed into the office like she owned the place, her bright red hair swaying as she practically threw herself onto Naruto’s desk. “Naruto~!” she cooed, leaning in dangerously close.
Sasuke, who had been flipping through mission reports, froze. His eyes flickered up, watching the interaction with narrowed eyes.
Naruto blinked. “Uh… Karin? What are you doing here?”
Karin smirked. “What? Can’t a girlfriend come visit her boyfriend?”
Naruto choked on air. “G-Girlfriend?!”
Sasuke’s fingers twitched around the papers in his hand.
“Oh? Didn’t I tell you?” Karin continued, looping an arm around Naruto’s neck. “We’ve been dating for a while now~.”
Naruto looked completely lost. “Since when?!”
Karin giggled. “You’re so cute when you act clueless, babe.”
Sasuke slammed the report down. “Tch.”
Both Naruto and Karin turned to look at him. Sasuke’s face was blank, but his jaw was tight, and his eyes held an unmistakable glare.
Karin’s smirk widened. Oh?
Naruto, completely oblivious, scratched his head. “Look, Karin, I don’t know what game you’re playing—”
“What game?” She leaned her head against his shoulder. “I’m just being affectionate with my boyfriend.”
Sasuke stood up abruptly, the chair scraping against the floor.
Naruto blinked. “Oi, where are you—”
“I have better things to do than watch this nonsense.” Sasuke’s voice was sharp, his fists clenched at his sides as he stormed toward the door.
“Oh?” Karin tilted her head, her tone playful. “Why does it bother you, Sasuke-kun?”
Sasuke stopped but didn’t turn around. His silence was louder than words.
Naruto, finally catching on, blinked in realization.
Karin smirked in victory.
“…Tch.” Without another word, Sasuke walked out, slamming the door behind him.
Naruto turned to Karin, wide-eyed. “You did that on purpose, didn’t you?”
Karin grinned. “Of course. You should be happy sakura told me about your love life . So I came to help you . Someone had to make that idiot realize he’s jealous.”
Naruto swallowed. His heart was racing, and for the first time, he fully felt it.
Sasuke was jealous.
And that meant…
Naruto smirked to himself. This just got interesting.
The bar inside Naruto’s base was lively that night. A few gang members sat around, drinking and chatting, the atmosphere relaxed after a long day. Naruto and Sasuke sat at the main table with a few others—Suigetsu, Jugo, Shikamaru, and some of Naruto’s trusted men.
And, of course, Karin was there, practically glued to Naruto’s side.
Sasuke had been drinking quietly, pretending not to care as Karin leaned against Naruto, whispering things into his ear and laughing dramatically. Normally, Naruto would shove her away or at least tell her to stop, but tonight…
He wasn’t stopping her.
In fact, he was playing along.
Sasuke’s grip on his glass tightened as Naruto casually slung an arm around Karin’s shoulders, smirking.
“You’re surprisingly fun when you’re drunk,” Naruto chuckled, tilting his drink back.
Karin giggled, placing a hand on his chest. “Only with you, babe~.”
Babe?!
Sasuke’s eyebrow twitched. What the hell is this?
Suigetsu, sitting across the table, whistled. “Damn, Sasuke, looks like your best friend’s moving on without you.”
Jugo, ever the quiet observer, glanced at Sasuke. “You okay?”
“I don’t care,” Sasuke muttered, taking another sip of his drink.
But his glare told a different story.
Shikamaru, watching the whole thing with mild amusement, smirked. “Yeah, sure.”
Meanwhile, Naruto, clearly enjoying this a little too much, turned to Karin with a grin. “You know, you’re kinda cute when you’re not threatening people.”
Karin laughed, twirling a strand of hair. “And you’re hot when you’re actually smart.”
Naruto laughed, but before he could respond, the sound of glass shattering made everyone pause.
All eyes turned to Sasuke, who had just crushed his glass in his hand.
The room went silent.
Suigetsu’s eyes widened. “Ohhh, shit—”
Sasuke stood up, brushing the broken glass off his palm like it was nothing. His dark eyes locked onto Naruto, filled with something dangerous.
Naruto swallowed, suddenly aware that maybe… just maybe, he’d taken this too far.
Karin, however, smirked. Gotcha, Uchiha.
Sasuke, without a word, turned and walked off, his footsteps heavy.
Naruto stood abruptly. “Oi, where do you think you’re—”
The door slammed behind him.
Naruto blinked, then looked at Karin, who was grinning like she’d won the lottery.
“What?” she shrugged. “I told you he was jealous.”
Suigetsu whistled again. “Boss, you might wanna go after him before he burns something down.”
Naruto ran a hand through his hair, sighing. Well, now I really can’t ignore this.
With that, he got up and followed Sasuke, leaving behind a table full of amused—and slightly concerned—gang members.
Naruto found Sasuke leaning against the balcony railing outside, staring into the night. His hands were resting on the cold metal, but faint streaks of blood marred his pale skin where the shattered glass had cut him.
Naruto sighed. Stubborn bastard.
Without a word, he stepped forward, unrolling a bandage. Sasuke didn’t react, but Naruto could feel the tension radiating from him.
As Naruto grabbed his wrist, Sasuke finally spoke, his tone sharp.
“What are you doing here?” His dark eyes flickered toward Naruto. “Shouldn’t you be inside? With your girlfriend?”
Naruto paused, then let out a small chuckle. “You’re an idiot.”
Sasuke’s glare deepened. “Tch.”
Naruto ignored him and started wrapping the bandage around his hand, careful but firm. “I’m here because when I was injured, you took care of me.” He glanced up, his blue eyes steady. “So I should take care of you.”
Sasuke’s breath hitched slightly, but his expression remained unreadable.
For a moment, neither of them spoke. The only sound was the distant hum of the city and the soft rustling of the wind.
Naruto finished tying the bandage and didn’t let go immediately. His fingers lingered, his touch warm against Sasuke’s wrist.
“…I don’t need you to take care of me,” Sasuke finally muttered, but his voice lacked its usual bite.
Naruto smirked. “Too bad. I already decided I’m gonna.”
Sasuke exhaled slowly, looking away. “…Do whatever you want.”
Naruto’s smirk softened into something more genuine. “I always do.”
And even though no confessions were spoken, something unspoken settled between them—something neither of them was quite ready to name just yet.
Sasuke lay in bed that night, staring at the ceiling.
His body still felt weak from the poisoning, but that wasn’t what was keeping him awake. It was something far more irritating.
Naruto.
Every time he closed his eyes, flashes of Naruto’s stupid, smug face popped up. The way he had bandaged Sasuke’s hand, how his touch lingered for a second too long. The warmth that spread through Sasuke’s chest when Naruto had looked at him with that serious expression.
He clenched his jaw. It’s nothing.
Whatever this feeling was, he refused to acknowledge it. It was not happening.
He was not jealous.
He told himself that over and over until he finally drifted into sleep.
Sasuke woke up feeling tense, and that tension only got worse throughout the day.
Because Naruto and Karin were together.
All. Damn. Day.
Karin was practically glued to Naruto’s side, her hand brushing his arm every chance she got, giggling like an idiot at everything he said. Naruto, the dumbass that he was, didn’t seem to mind.
Sasuke’s mood plummeted.
At first, he told himself he didn’t care. It was just Naruto. And Karin. Nothing to do with him.
Except it did bother him.
It bothered him when Karin leaned in too close. It bothered him when Naruto smiled at her. It really bothered him when Naruto let her grab his arm like she had some kind of claim over him.
By midday, Sasuke’s jaw was so tight it could crack.
And of course, Suigetsu noticed.
"You’re pissed," Suigetsu said, walking beside him.
"I’m fine," Sasuke snapped.
Jugo gave him a slow look. "You don’t look fine."
Suigetsu smirked. "This wouldn’t happen to be about a certain blond and a redhead, would it?"
Sasuke shot him a glare so sharp it could kill. "Shut. Up."
___
At night
It was supposed to be a normal night. A little drinking. Some fun. Nothing too crazy.
Then Karin had ruined everything.
“Let’s play a drinking game,” she had suggested with a smug smile.
Sasuke, at first, hadn’t cared. He had no interest in drinking himself into stupidity—until she smirked at him and said, “Afraid you’ll lose?”
His Uchiha pride refused to let that insult slide.
Now, several drinks later, Sasuke was pouting in his chair, arms crossed like a sulking child. His usually sharp, unreadable face was now red from alcohol, his brows furrowed in something that could only be described as jealous drunken misery.
Sasuke was beyond drunk. His usual cold, untouchable demeanor? Gone. Instead, he was pouting aggressively, arms crossed as he glared at Naruto like Naruto had personally betrayed him.
“Something wrong, Sasuke?” Naruto asked, already regretting it.
Sasuke turned his head dramatically, lips jutting out even more. “No.”
Naruto blinked. “...You sure?”
Sasuke narrowed his eyes. “Do I look good?”
Naruto choked. What?
Sasuke leaned in, his half-lidded gaze full of intensity. “Didn’t you hear me, dobe?” He grabbed Naruto’s shirt, looking offended. “I said—do I look good?!”
The entire room froze.
Itachi says ,"he don't know him ."
Suigetsu collapsed laughing. Jugo sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose.
Hidan, already drunk, slammed his hands on the table. “HELL YEAH, YOU LOOK HOT AS F***, UCHIHA!”
Sasuke, pleased with this response, smirked. “Good.”
Naruto wasn’t okay.
But before he could say anything, Sasuke’s expression turned serious again. His drunken thoughts were all over the place, but one thing was very clear to him.
Naruto was too close to that bitch.
He turned, eyes locking onto his brother. “Tachi!”
Itachi stiffened instantly. “Oh no.”
Sasuke pointed straight at Karin, swaying slightly but full of righteous fury.
“She is a bitch.” He waved his hand dramatically, like banishing an unworthy peasant. “She flirts with my man.”
The room exploded.
Suigetsu rolled on the floor, wheezing. “OH MY GOD, I CAN’T BREATHE.”
Jugo looked to the ceiling, praying for strength.
Naruto, face red as hell, nearly fell off his chair. “WHAT?!”
Karin, instead of being offended, grinned. “Oh, this is the best thing I’ve ever seen.” She winked at Naruto. “You can thank me later.”
Itachi, mentally packing his bags, sighed. “I see.”
Kisame was crying. “I love this family.”
Hidan pointed aggressively. “KISS HIM, BLONDIE! HE’S LITERALLY BEGGING!”
Deidara smirked. “Do it, un. For science.”
Sai tilted his head. “So, they are engaged now?”
Naruto wanted to disappear. “CAN EVERYONE SHUT UP?!”
But before he could even process the madness, Sasuke made his next move.
He climbed onto Naruto’s lap.
Naruto froze.
Sasuke’s arms looped around his neck, his breath warm against Naruto’s cheek. “I don’t like it,” he mumbled into Naruto’s ear.
Naruto gulped. “Like what?”
Sasuke nuzzled closer. “You. With her.”
Naruto.exe stopped working.
Suigetsu was screaming. “WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING?!”
Hidan? Losing his damn mind. “OH MY F***ING GOD—JUST KISS HIM ALREADY!”
Kisame wiped tears. “This is peak entertainment.”
Meanwhile, Itachi turned to Kisame. “We should move cities.”
Kisame grinned. “No way. I’m staying.”
And just when Naruto thought things couldn’t get worse—
Sasuke’s nose brushed against his.
His lips were so close.
Naruto’s entire body locked up.
Was Sasuke about to—?!
And then—
Sasuke passed out.
Like a damn switch. One second, he was all over Naruto, the next—completely unconscious, collapsing against Naruto’s chest.
For ten seconds, nobody spoke.
Then—
Suigetsu screamed with laughter. “HE WAS SO DRAMATIC AND THEN JUST—GONE!”
Ino, still recording, zoomed in. “Oh, this is so going viral.”
Sai, thoughtful, nodded. “This was educational.”
Hidan was still yelling. “WHAT THE F***, BLONDIE? EXPLAIN.”
Deidara smirked. “Un, I’m bringing this up every day.”
Kisame, wiping more tears, nodded. “Best night ever.”
And Naruto?
Still holding Sasuke, still completely broken.
“…What the hell just happened?
