Slight change of plans
The beefy guy holding up Shinsou was thrown backwards, letting go of the insomniac as he fell. On instinct, my hand flew up, and the force that pushed the beefy guy back- a large amount of water from the nearby water fountain- seemed to stop. Clenching my hand in a fist, I watched as the water turned into ice, freezing beefy guy in his place. A switch in my brain flicked, and my brain started to process what was happening. I lowered my arm, unclenching my fist and watching as the ice melted back into water, soaking beefy guy and the floor around rhim. Mic, at some point, had run over to Shinsou and helped him up, checking him for any injuries. I hadn't realised I was staring until Mic ran over and gently shook my shoulder. I blinked, looking at him for answers. He shook his head, mouthing the words 'at home' to me before walking towards Shinsou and our bags.
Mall security was there already, and I didn't want to make an even bigger scene then I already had. I made my way over to Mic and Shinsou, and we walked towards the exit. We made it outside and into the car with little trouble, Mic sighing as he sat down. His head unceremoniously hit the headrest behind him with a thump. Shinsou muttered a quiet 'sorry pops' under his breath, crossing his arms loosely across his chest as he stared out the window. I looked down at my hands, twiddling with the cuff of my jacket as we drove. Not a word was said during the entire drive, filling the car with an silence that seemed to edge onto uncomfortable.
Once we got back to the house, Mic got out, tightening his jacket around him as he fish out his house key. Shinsou and I grabbed the bags from the back and followed Mic through the door, welcoming the warmth from the interior of the house. The front door led us into an entryway, where Mic instructed me to take off my shoes and coat. As I did, Shinsou complemented me on my grumpy cat socks. Mic led us out of the entryway, where the house became more open. From the living room we were standing in, I could see the kitchen to the right and the small dining room to the left. Stairs to our left led to the second floor, and the open door underneath them revealed a small bathroom. Aizawa was reclined on the sectional by the large window in the living room, a book set on the table in front of him. He glanced up at us, the black cat in his lap hopping down and rubbing against Shinsou's legs in greeting.
"We need to talk." Mic spoke, breaking the silence between the group. Shinsou took the bags from me and motioned for me to follow him up the stairs. I took one last look at the older males before following the purple-haired teen upstairs. The stairs opened up to a wide hallway, doors lining either side. Shinsou pointed down the hall to the right, past the landing of the stairs.
"The door to the right is Dad and Pop's room. The last door on the left is an office space, and the door closest to us on the left is the linen closet." He explained. He guided me to the left. "Over here, we have my room and the bathroom on the left, and your room is on the right." He pushed the door to my room open, revealing a plain room painted white with grey accents, and a bed, dresser and desk. Simple, yet not to overbearing. Shinsou walked over and set the bags on the bed before guiding me out the door and down the hall to his room. His room was painted a lighter shade of purple, with a bed, desk, and closet. His bed was covered in soft blankets, and his walls had posters from movies and heroes alike. The only organized thing in his room was his desk, which only held a few books and some writing supplies.
The carpet under my feet was squishy, the whiteness of it making the room seem brighter. He grabbed something out of his closet before we made our way back to my room. We entered the room, deciding it would be a good idea to unpack everything we had bought. Shinsou set whatever he had grabbed into the bed before handing me a bag. As we began to unpack, we talked and joked around. I made sure to put my school supplies in my desk drawers and my toiletries in the bathroom down the hall, putting them in a separate drawer from Shinsou's stuff. Shinsou eventually revealed the item he had grabbed from his closet: a plush mint green blanket for my bed.
"Even with the heat on, it can still get cold up here." He said, spreading the blanket out on the end of my bed. I smiled, giving him a side but before moving to head towards the door.
"Do you think they're done talking?" I asked, turning to look back at the other teen. He shrugged in response moving past me and out the door.
"Only one way to find out." He called behind him. I sighed, making my way downstairs behind him. Aizawa and Mic sat at the the kitchen island, a mug nestled in both of their hands. The smell of coffee seemed to hang in the air, inviting us and drawing us in the have a cup of the dirty bean water. Aizawa was the first to notice us, waving his hand to call us over. We walked towards them, me while fiddling with a loose thread on my shirt sleeve.
Why are you so nervous? Eloise asked.
I dunno, I guess I'm just afraid of what they'll say, I responded, continuing to fiddle with the loose thread.
What are they gonna do, kick you out? You saved Shinsou's ass back there, I don't think they're going to. Hitoshi and I stood at the island, Hitoshi standing a little behind me. Aizawa was starring at his mug.
"Mic told me what happened." Aizawa started. He looked more tired then he did before, the bags under his eye more prominent. Mic brought his mug to his lips, seeming to avoid eye contact with his husband.
Still can't believe they're married, I thought.
"Are you 100% sure that you were born quirckless?" He asked, turning his head towards me. I nodded in response, not trusting myself to speak the right words for the situation. Aizawa turned back towards th e mug in his hands, taking a sip before continuing. "Mic said that you did some hero level thinking when you helped Hitoshi. With the proper training, you could learn to use your newfound quirk. But that's only if you want to do so."
"I think it would be a great idea of you learned to use your quirk and train to be a hero." Mic spoke up. "You could train alongside 'Toshi, learn to use your quirk to it's highest potential. But like Aizawa said, only if you want to." Mic flashed me a soft smile before taking another sip of his coffee.
Guess it takes saving his son from some low-level asshats for him to start to like you. Eloise said. I thought about it for a moment.
Should I really train to be a hero? I'm not even from this dimension, what happens when I get sucked back into my own dimension?
You can only go back if you make a wish to leave this dimension and return home. And hero training will give you something to do while you're here.
I didn't even know I had a quirk till this morning, how do you expect me to train with something I barely know how to use?
The same way you learn to read and write: practice. The more you practice, the better you'll get.
Why do you have a point? I grumbled, returning my attention to re real world.
"I'll try the hero training. But if I don't like it, I want to be able to stop." I replied, earning a small smile from the 2 adults. Shinsou hugged me from behind.
"Now I'll have a training buddy!" He said, releasing me from the hug. Mic, Aizawa and I worked out the details of my training, and they filled me in on the status of my legal documents.
"Nemuri is working on getting the forms right now through her government contacts. We should have them in a day or so." Mic told me. "That being said, we can't really leave you here alone all day."
"Nezu said she can come after school hours to train with Hitoshi and I. I can see if Nemuri can drive over and pick her up seeing as Nemuri's last lesson of the day ends half an hour before school ends. During school hours she can stay here or we can keep her in the teacher's lounge. And it's Saturday, so we have all weekend to work on our alibi and we can work on the legal documents whenever Nemuri sends them over." Aizawa replied. We nodded and spent the rest of the just hanging out, ordering takeout for dinner and watching TV. Eloise would pipe to from time to time, but by the time I decided to go to bed, she had shut up, letting me get some rest after my long and weird day.
