Not all monsters mean to hurt

The UA stadium cheered, people filled the stands from all over Japan as they watched. They were excited to witness a competition between 2 of the biggest hero schools in the country. The students from each school waved and cheered at the fans, all beaming pride for their schools. The schools treated it like a massive version of the sports festival, giving most of the same trials, just on a more grand scale. The only difference between this and a sports festival was the use of hero suits and support equipment were permitted. Everything was going fine, everyone was having fun. Then came the one on one fights between the students. First one to be incopacitated, knocked out of bounds, or immobilized loses. The rounds lasted a maximum of 20 minutes. They all went by fast, the students never wasting a beat. They went all out, using the full extent of their quirks as they fought. Well, almost everyone. In a flash it was the finals. There were 2 fights, 4 fighters, the victors of each going to fight in the championship battle to see which school was superior. The first match was Ejiro Kirishima against Sashi Krüger.

“OOOK! Welcome to the first fight for the championship contenders! First up on the block, the spiky redhead you all know and love, hailing from UA: Ejiro Kirishima!!” Present Mic screamed throughout the stadium. Everyone erupted into cheers and applause as Kirishima laughed his innocent laugh as he waved, walking up towards the ring Cementos created for the fights.

“Next up! The German Queen we’ve come to adore, the fantastic girl who has only used her equipment to win! Hailing from Shiketsu: Sashi Krüger!!”. The crowds of people erupted in more cheers as she used her gear to launch herself into the air, the harpoons launching into the pillars on the stairs. She used a prototype version of her thruster to spin herself in the air, soon landing on the ground throwing her hands into the air.

Kirishima let out a loud laugh as he walked over, a bright smile beaming on his face. He held his fist out as he looked at the brunette before him. “May the best hero win!” he beamed. Sashi Nodded, returning his beaming smile as she bumped her fist into his “Right!”. They walked back to their respective sides, waiting for the sound for the match to begin.

As soon as the air horn blew, the 2 got into a fighting stance. Kirishima launched forward, activating his quirk as he screamed. “Red Riot! Unbreakable!”. He instantly burst into harder stone, sharp pointy edges bursting all over him as he charged the brown haired girl.

A large grin spread across Sashi’s face as she tore the handles off her belt, squeezing the triggers as hard as she could. The harpoons burst out, slamming into Kirishima’s extra hardened shoulders as they started winding back. It pulled her forward, the edges of her heels grinding on the cement as she kept her eyes locked on his arms. When she saw he was going to give a right hook, she pulled back the right one into the box on her hip, the left one allowing her to spin. She then retracted the left one as she shot forward, landing a kick on the male’s back, causing him to stumble. The crowd erupted into cheers and applause.

The fight went on like this for a while. The 2 exchanged blows. Both looking bruised and battered as the fight was nearing the 15 minute mark.

Kirishima let out a smirk as he charged forward, hardening his fist, the edges becoming as sharp as a knife. He swung his right hand forward, towards her head as hard as he could. Sashi’s eyes widened as she felt the sharp edge of his hand slicing deep into her cheek. That was gonna leave a scar, but oh well. She snickered as she spun around his arm, going to throw a punch at his side. But she froze for a split second, her eyes widening with fear as she saw orange sparks fly off her hands.

‘No!’

There was suddenly a burst of steam and then a large bolt of orange lightning shot down to the Earth, casting an orange glow over everything as the shockwave threw everyone in the stadium into the air slightly, cracking the arena with a loud split. The steam flowed off the ring as the scream of a pained Kirishima reverberated through the stadium. As the steam dissipated, it revealed a 14 meter tall female, however it appeared to not have any reproductive organs, along with it’s breasts lacking the nipples. Some parts had no skin, just exposed muscle, the shoulders and calves being the largest areas, with some parts on the jaws. Chocolate brown hair flowed off it’s head and down it’s shoulders. It’s mouth opened, unlike last time, it had lips, looking less like a dinosaur. It’s eyes glowed a golden color as she roared. she looked like she was in the middle of curb stomping someone as she pushed her foot down with all its might. Kirishima screamed in pain as he was pushed into a kneeling pose, using every ounce of his strength to keep from being crushed. She let out another ear piercing roar as she pushed harder, soon raising her foot up to stomp down again. As her foot raised, Sero quickly used his quirk to yank Kirishima away. She slammed her foot into the ring, crushing it easily as she roared. She slowly looked around, steam leaving her foot as she stepped back.

Fear. That's all she could see.

“Villain!” several people screamed.

“Monster!” others shouted.

Screams filled the stadium as people started to run. Sashi began to tremble slightly as she let out another roar, this one audibly terrified. She quickly turned to run, ramming into the stadium with all her weight, trying to get out as large chunks of rubble started flying. People screamed more, heroes and students trying to save who they could. She quickly started climbing, tearing hunks of stadium off as rubble flew everywhere. Some people were crushed as others only scratched. Her hands and feet slammed into the seats, as she went. Many people got out of the way, though some weren’t as lucky. She burst over the edge of the stadium, starting to run as fast as she could. The mass of people screamed as she trampled some, her eyes filled with horror. Suddenly there was a tug on her arm as she glanced back, seeing Mount Lady holding onto her. She roared again, pushing the hero off her as she tried to run again. However she felt a weight wrap around her legs as she fell onto the ground, looking back to see Mount Lady have a tight embrace on her hips. Her eyes widened as she saw what was behind them. The stadium was smoking, screams emanating from it. She saw giant, bloody handprints on the side, bloody footprints leading to where she was now. Sashi squirmed and kicked, slamming her right hand into the hero’s head, hoping they’d let go. Her roars filled with fear as some tears actually fell down her giant cheeks.

‘Let me leave’

She heard children crying.

‘Let me run away!’

She heard families calling out to their loved ones.

‘Let go! Let me go far away and die’

Her eyes widened, seeing what she could only assume was a mother pulling on her child’s legs, the top half a splattered puddle under a large chunk of cement.

‘Let me escape this horrible existence and die like the monster I am!’

She kept squirming, seeing blood drip down Mount Lady’s head, slamming her fist down harder. She paused as she saw a tired, irritated man quickly jump onto her head. She looked at him as his eyes glowed a bright red, his hair floating up before she erupted into an explosion of steam.

Sashi sat on the ground, tears streaming down her cheeks as she looked at her hands. Several other heroes ran into the steam, slamming her into the ground. They pulled her hands behind her back as she saw Mount lady leaning on the man, holding her head. Just behind them seeing the carnage she caused. She wanted to die. She deserved to die. She couldn’t live with herself. She needed to die. She soon felt her body shaking violently.

“Sashi!’

‘Let me die’

“Sashi!”

‘I didn’t mean to! I lost control’

“Sashi wake up!!”

Her eyes shot open as she threw herself up, her eyes filled with horror as she screamed at the top of her lungs

“I didn’t mean to kill them! I’m sorry! I lost control! You people think I wanted to kill all those people?! I wasn’t intentionally trying to kill Kirishima! I really wasn’t! I’m so so sorry!” she was still half in her nightmare. Suddenly coming back to reality as she felt a hard slap on her cheek. Suddenly her vision came to. She was in an apartment, surrounded by people. Her eyes darted around, recognizing where she was. It was Kaminari’s apartment. She looked over the people. Mina, Kaminari, Jiro, Kirishima, Momo. her breath was shaky as she backed up, feeling her back against the wall as her eyes darted between them. They all had the same look. They were all scared. Why did she make everyone around her scared?

Kaminari stepped forward, slowly holding his arms out as he sighed heavily. He looked like he was trying to diffuse a bomb. “Hey. Sashi, you’re ok. You’re safe. You were crying and screaming in your sleep. We’ve been trying to wake you up for 20 minutes…”.

She looked around, slowly feeling her cheeks damp from tears as she let out a shaky breath, trying to calm herself down. “I-it felt so real… I thought I was there again- I didn’t mean to!” her eyes filled with fear again as she looked up at Kirishima, curling up into a ball. “I’m so sorry! I’m so so so so sorry!”. She was starting to break down again. Suddenly she felt something wrap around her tightly. Someone’s arms. She slowly got her mind in control as she noticed Momo clinging herself to her. Why would she be doing that?! She didn’t deserve it! She was basically a monster!

“We were worried about you…! We were scared something bad was happening…”. The creator mumbled, she kept a tight grip on the brunette as her voice actually started trembling.

Why were they worried. She basically almost killed them. If she had transformed in her sleep, oh god she would have killed them along with the others in the building! She felt her body start to tremble as Kirishima stepped forward. He squatted down in front of the horrified brunette, her eyes starting to water again as he reached his hand out. What was he doing, what was he gonna do? If he was going to hurt her, she deserved it, she was a murderer. She killed so many people. She closed her eyes tight, trembling in Momo’s arms as she felt something gently rest on the top of her head.

A small chuckle came out of the redhead, beaming his usual smile as he gently rubbed her head softly. “Hey… Sashi, listen to us. We were worried about you. We were scared for you, not scared of you”. His voice was quiet as he looked at her, being as calm as he was during the party last night. “We want to help you make this power yours, all of us. And i’m sure we can drag some other heroes into this so you can get better”.

She nodded slowly, looking toward him as she slowly calmed down. Her trembling slowed in the creators arms, taking deep breaths as she closed her eyes. ‘We were scared for you, not scared of you’. Those words rang in her head. They still weren’t scared of her, she didn’t fuck anything up yet. She opened her hazel eyes as a small, weak smile tugged at her lips as she nodded. Soon the redhead cleared his voice again, gently pulling his hand from her head.

“One more thing..” he trailed off, looking her in the eyes as his beaming smile softened. Sashi’s mind was starting to pick up speed. What was he going to say? Did he hate her for all those years ago? Did she spark some repressed memories or something?! Oh god what if she fucked up his life back then!?

“I forgive you, don’t beat yourself up”.

She felt tears stream down her cheeks as her eyes went as wide as saucers. Her heart slowly pieced back together as she shuddered, slowly starting to sob as she nodded. She was so happy. She was so so happy. She knew one person couldn’t compare to all who she killed that day, but it felt good to know someone forgave her. She sat there, clinging onto Momo as Kirishima pulled them into a tight hug, the others watching as small smiles came across their lips.

After a while she slowly stood, wiping her eyes as she looked down at her hands, soon clenching them into a tight fist as she lifted her head up to look at the others. Her golden hazel eyes swelled with determination. She felt a proud smile weakly pull her lips up as she nodded, taking a shaken breath as she cleared her throat.

“I’ll make sure this power can be used for good! I’ll make it mine and be sure to use it for good!”. She pumped her fist into the air, the others mimicking her as she laughed softly, coming back to her normal cheery self.

A week has passed since that day, and it was the start of her new hero training. Uraraka managed to convince her parents to let them use a plot of land outside of the city their company owned. Kirishima had managed to make some calls and pull some strings, dragging a couple veteran pro-heroes out. Apparently, even Deku was coming out, even as just moral support.

Sashi stood out in the middle of the field, her hand up over her eyes as she watched the sun rise. Her eyes narrowed slightly as the flood of light poured over the horizon, only turning as she heard some car doors shut. Her gaze adjusted as she saw Kirishima walking over, 2 taller figures following behind him. Sashi slowly turned around, facing the 3 as she quickly recognized them, taking in a baited breath. Mount Lady and Eraserhead. Seeing those 2 brought back troubling memories, especially Mount Lady. After her trial, she was sentenced to a year of dorm/house arrest, along with the suspension of her provisional licence. Her parol was strict and had no room for movement. Along with a normal officer, she was placed under the supervision of a pro hero. The only hero with the skills to deal with her if she transformed was the enlarging hero. A scar ran across Mount Lady’s forehead, a ever lasting reminder of just what Sashi was capable of.

A smirk pulled across the blonde woman’s lips as she let out a small laugh. “Look kid… I'm not here to be your friend, but I'm not your enemy. I’m just here to make sure you don’t go on a rampage… same with Eraser over here”.

Sashi nodded, staying silent. The 4 looked over as they saw Kaminari’s car pulling up. Soon Uraraka, Jiro, Momo, and Kaminari himself poured out, the latter giving a thumbs up towards the brunette. She let out a soft sigh as she took a step back, glancing down at her hands, closing her eyes soon after as she heard Eraserhead step forward.

“Let’s just focus on transforming and maintaining control. We can do other, more involved tasks at a later date”. The tired man sighed out, crossing his arms over his chest as his head tilted to the side.

The brunette nodded, closing her eyes as she popped her knuckles and rolled her shoulders. She slowly opened her eyes again, walking out to the middle of the wide field as she let out a deep breath. She could do this. She just had to focus on keeping in control, that’s all. It shouldn’t be that hard. Slowly, she stood up straight, turning to face them all as she gently pulled a pocket knife off her belt as she flicked it open. She slowly looked down at her hand as she brought the blade to her palm. She heard the others mumble amongst themselves as Momo and Kaminari tried to quiet them down and explain. She closed her hazel eyes, taking a deep breath as she pressed the blade to her palm, swinging her arm out as it sliced her hand open, small drops of blood flinging out as streams fell down her hand. She quickly opened her eyes, glancing towards the others. Her hazel hues filled with determination as orange lightning sparked all around her, a large bolt soon shot down from the sky as it slammed into her. A surge of steam came from where she was standing, enveloping a wide area as the others slowly watched, unsure of what was happening. The slow thud of footsteps emanated from the steam, soon a large foot bursting out from the bellowing plume, slamming into the ground. A 14 meter tall body soon followed, steam pulling off her as she slowly stepped out. Unlike her normal form, whose hair was always in a ponytail, this form’s hair was all loose, falling against her shoulders and her back as her hazel eyes glanced down. She took another step forward, causing everyone to flinch, except Momo. she stood proud as the massive foot slammed down to the earth barely 10 feet from her. Suddenly, she started to kneel down, her right knee pressing into the soft Earth as her head leaned in, glancing down at them as she opened her mouth, steam pouring out the corners as a soft roar left her jaws. Her right hand slowly moved towards the group as she slowly had her palm face up, the back of her hand against the grass. Her fingers slightly curved up, as if to give handles to hop on. Momo only laughed, gripping onto the tip of her index finger as she pulled herself onto the giant hand. Sashi began to stand slowly, holding her hand flat as she moved it up to her left shoulder.

The creator slowly climbed on as she gripped onto the brunette's hair to stay stable. Sashi’s massive eye glanced over towards Momo, sparkling with pride as she slowly glanced towards the rising sun. Her body slowly turned to face it as her hands clenched into tight fists, her arms moving slightly behind. Her left foot swung out, widening her stance as she took in a deep breath. She soon threw her head back, her jaws opening as a loud roar erupted out of her. Mount lady lurched forward, about to engage before Aizawa threw his hand out in front of her.

“Don’t. This isn’t like back then… she looks like she’s in control. Plus we don’t know what could set her off.”

Sashi continued to roar, each one filled with pride, triumphantly celebrating her success. While it may seem minimal to others, to her, it was like becoming queen of the world. She could think clearly. There was no haze, there was no fear. She could see the world for what it really was. She slowly stepped back, her roars trailing off as she turned to the others yet again, hearing Momo cheer on her shoulders as the others erupt into their own celebration. She felt her heart swell as she threw her massive fist into the air, letting out one more triumphant roar.

They continued on for several hours, soon calling it a day as they all went to the agency. Mount Lady and EraserHead parted ways with them. The next morning they were out again, repeating the same process. They did that every morning for the next 2 weeks. Sometimes it was everyone there, sometimes only Momo, Aizawa, and Mount Lady. they had varying levels of success. She mostly held herself under control, but there were some times where she attacked the group. One morning, she seemed extra irritable complaining about a lack of sleep. When she transformed, she stood completely still, her hair shadowed her eyes as a low rumble came from her jaws. It happened to be an off chance when Bakugou showed up. So like his usual self, he started yelling and insulting. He started walking towards her spewing stupid remarks about how he thought she was improving when she slowly turned toward him. Her eyes glowed a bright gold. Suddenly she took 2 quick steps forward, raising her right foot up as she roared, slamming it down at the blonde. Though he managed to dodge, the rest of the heroes quickly stepped in. Mount Lady quickly grew as she tackled Sashi onto the ground, pinning her down as Aizawa quickly erased her quirk.

Another time when she noticed Mount Lady acting extra nervous. Her eyes shimmered a golden color as she randomly started roaring ear splitting screeches. She gripped her head tightly for a few minutes before lunging down, trying to smash her hand onto the growing hero. Mount Lady grew before, pushing the brunette back as she fell, quickly spinning herself around to try and run. However the ground of the field was extra muddy that day, causing her to slip. It bought Aizawa enough time to run over, being able to cancel her quirk before anything else happened.

They all learned valuable information they could use in the future if she goes berserk. The first being, her eyes. When she has complete control they stay a dull hazel, much like her human self. However, when she loses control, they often shine a form of gold. The second, how she reacts when losing control depends on her emotions. When she’s either calm or determined/happy, she has the most control. This is when she can completely understand what everyone is saying and what is going on around her. However, if she is irritated/annoyed by something, say an explosive blonde, she will lash out. She will attack either the thing irritating her or anything that moves if she can’t find what’s annoying her. She effectively turns into a mindless killing machine until she passes out from exhaustion or she’s stopped. If she’s scared/nervous or sad, she will try to escape much like the tournament incident 5 years prior. she will try to incapacitate whatever or whoever is keeping her from getting away. When in this state, she can see and is highly reactive to fear. Her senses go into overdrive, trying to process everything that’s going on.

After those 2 weeks, they focused on fighting. Aizawa would have her fight with everyone while still in her human form. He wanted her to rely on her fists and not just her hero suit. He said she needed experience dealing with different quirks and different fighting styles. He was also teaching her techniques she could use when transformed. The first day of the new exercises, she was up against Kirishima. They went round after round, effectively boxing as by the end they had bruises and bloody noses. The next day was Momo. Their fight was different, Momo used a staff to fight, causing the brunette to change up her tactics. She stayed a safe distance away, keeping an eye out for any openings. The second she saw one, she exploited it. She quickly rushed, grabbing the underside of the creator’s right arm with her left as her left leg kicked Momo’s feet, flipping her in the air before letting her fall to the ground. She continued to fight through everyone, including Bakugou (where she was allowed to use her gear).

It had been over a month. She had gotten better. She needed to continue training, but she started to master calming her emotions and keeping in control. One morning she sat on her Motorcycle, watching as everyone pulled up. As Aizawa walked over, she gently jumped off her bike, smiling brightly. “Who am I fighting today? Am I finally gonna go against Mount Lady?”.

Aizawa sighed, smirking a little as he shook his head. “No, you actually have someone who requested to help you train”. He glanced back, seeing a car drive over the horizon. “There he is now”.

Her hazel eyes narrowed as she squinted. The car was unfamiliar. She’s never really seen anyone she knew drive it. As it pulled up, she could see it was very fancy, probably very expensive as she saw it park behind Kaminari’s. As the door opened, she felt her heart start to race as she saw who stepped out. Her mind went blank as his messy green hair blew in the wind.

“Hey Sashi! Long time no see!”

She nodded as her mind was still in shock. What was the number 1 hero doing here? Why was he helping her? Would she survive this fight?! She swallowed the lump in her throat as she put a determined smile on her face. She could do this, she beat Bakugou, how hard could Deku be.

______________________________________________________________________________

She coughed as she slammed back onto the ground, the wind getting knocked out of her as she groaned, rolling over as she pushed herself up. Her eyes looked up at the number 1 hero. He doesn’t even look like he’s broken a sweat. This was the 3rd day she’s fought him, and she barely could get a finger on him, let alone a solid hit. His normally cheery disposition was gone. His face looked serious, his eyes glowing a bright green as lightning sparked all around him. He knelt down, shooting forward as she quickly jumped out of the way as his foot slammed down on the ground where she once was. She panted heavily, quickly running at him as she swung her right hand at his face. He only took a quick breath as he used his left hand to grab her arm. He yanked her closer, slamming his right fist into her stomach. A loud, pained gasp came from her as he tossed her to the side. He towered over her as he took a few steps back. She slowly looked up towards him, her eyes narrowing. There was no way she could beat him, he was too strong. Every attack she throws at him he sees. He just throws her aside like there was nothing interesting with her. That really pissed her off. Like hell… she was interesting! She was a hero! A damn good one! Her eyes widened as she acted without thinking. She let out a loud scream, slamming one foot into the ground, getting into a kneeling position. She quickly brought her hand to her mouth. She slammed her jaws down on the meaty part of her thumb, breaking the skin as blood gushed out, splashing against her cheek. Her eyes glowed as orange lightning sparked around her, the large bolt slamming on top of her as an explosion of steam surged out around her.

Soon there was a loud roar as he massive fist burst out from the steam, slamming forward at Deku as the steam cleared. The number one hero dodged, a smirk pulling on his lips as he looked up at his new opponent. She swung her left hand against the ground, tearing up chunks of Earth as she pulled her right hand out of the ground, steam enveloping it as the broken and cut fingers healed. She let out a loud roar as she quickly stood. Her eyes locked on the hero as she slammed her feet into the ground, followed by her fists as he was on the run now. She was in complete control. She felt her power surging through her body as she opened her jaws, steam bellowing out as she roars. This was her power, she controlled it, she told it what to do. She was the master of her own body. She swore she would keep this power in check until her body broke. This power, this power was her’s! She let out a loud roar as she swung her right fist back, soon throwing it down towards Deku. A laugh left his lips as he slammed his fist into hers. Suddenly she burst into steam, causing Deku to freeze as his eyes darted around. There was a loud scream as Sashi burst out of the steam in her human form. The harpoons on her hips shot into the dirt by his feet. The gears immediately started turning, shooting her forward as the thruster on her back roared to life. She swung her right hand back, clenching it into a tight fist as she threw it forward. There was a loud thud as her fist made contact with Deku’s cheek, putting everything she had into that punch as she let out a proud scream. She pushed her arm as hard as she could, causing the number one hero to spin a couple times before slamming into the ground.

It was silent for a few agonizing seconds. The heavy breaths of Sashi and the groans of Deku filled the air. Suddenly, the group on the sidelines erupted into cheers, running over and tackling Sashi to the ground. Momo and Uraraka had their arms tightly around the brunette as she fell, starting to tear up as she laughed. She did it, she actually did it. She got control over her power, she was entirely herself.

______________________________________________________________________________

The next few days, Sashi felt remade. She held herself more proud and determined. She knew she had a lot of training to go, but she was sure she could hold her own. She had control over her power and her emotions. She worked extra hard, giving 100% percent on patrols as she swung around the city, laughing as she watched Kaminari chasing after her on foot. She was sure everything would be fine, things were starting to turn up Sashi as her life took a positive shot up. Her and Momo had been spending more time together. She actually found out where the creator lived when she was dragged to their home for a girls night.

Momo kept a tight grip on Sashi’s wrist as she was pulled into their apartment. The brunette could only laugh as she felt her cheeks flush a warm red, glancing around the home. It was modern, not that she expected any less from Momo. It was mostly white and light grays, with splashes of black, and dark brown for the polished hardwood floors. She slowly walked in, tilting her head as she smiled softly, giggling. The creator raised an eyebrow, slowly pulling out a bottle of wine from the fridge.

“Nothing, it’s just… pretty much what I expected” she teased, taking note on how clean everything was. She could really take a page out of Momo’s book, her own apartment was messy. She tidied up every now and then, but it was never spotless. She always had cups somewhere, her jacket and bag draped over her desk chair. It wasn’t dirty, just not as kept up as other peoples.

Momo nodded, smiling a little as she sat on the couch, pouring the wine into glasses before handing the brunette one. She slowly raised her glass, her eyes sparkling as she snickered “To you! Figuring out how to take control of your power”. Sashi only laughed as she clinked her glass against theirs. The 2 drank and laughed for a while. They mostly talked about work and how they couldn’t handle the new patrol routes. They soon shifted to the topic of Kaminari and Jiro’s endless flirting competition, laughing on how bad kaminari was at picking up hints. Sashi giggled softly, glancing over as she saw Momo’s gaze stick on her for a few seconds longer than normal. She slowly tilted her head, quirking up an eyebrow as she giggled a little.

Momo smirked as they spent the rest of the night drinking and talking. Sashi noticed Momo blushing at times, quickly trying to hide when the brunette probed her on it. Sashi herself felt her heart racing every time the creator got close, or when their arms brushed together. She often had to bite the inside of her cheek, holding in so many emotions as they interacted. However, she was never good at it, so she almost had a permanent blush dusting her cheeks.

Her life was going so well, she knew things were looking up for her. She knew she’d get her life in check if things kept going like they were.

However, she had no clue that soon, her world would turn upside down. Things would come into play that no one could have predicted.

Several days later, deep in Shinjuku station, a black and purple portal opened, soon a long beak slowly came through, its brain pulsating as its eyes darted around. A low screech coming out of its beak as more portals opened around the station. More of them stepping out as they roared. Deep in a warehouse, a thin male snickers softly, placing his hand on a large, sleek surface. Lights flick on, illuminating a massive beak, its eye darting around before falling onto the man.

“Time to wake up, Nomu~”
