Neito X Reader

There's some things I should have said

I was too afraid

(First Name) woke up early the morning of U.A.’s entrance exam, her (Eye Color) eyes shining with determination. She was going to be taking the first step to becoming a hero today, and she was determined to get it right.

After changing into a tracksuit and eating breakfast,(First Name) ran out of her house and knocked on Neito’s door, glad he lived right next door. “Neito, come on! We should hurry!” She shouted, knocking louder when she didn’t hear a reply.

“I’m coming,so just wait, you idiot!” Neito called out with a laugh as he slid his shoes on and walked out. “Geez,I get that you’re excited, but there’s no need to rush. We have plenty of time.”

“I know,I know, but I wanna hurry! We should be there even earlier than early!” (First Name) said, grabbing his hand and pulling him along.

“How are you so energetic this early in the morning?” Neito asked, sighing when she shrugged.

After their long trek to U.A.’s campus, and sitting through Hizashi’s explanation of what would be happening,Neito and (First Name) were both happy to see they were heading to the same area.

“Hey,(First Name),let me copy your Quirk,” Neito demanded when he saw the robots, grinning when she patted his arm. “Let’s get to work.”

“Of course.” (First Name) said, grinning a little. She ran forward and touched two of the robots, watching as they instantly turned to ash at her fingertips. She then continued her massacre of the robots, with Neito doing the same at her side. When one nearly stepped on him while he was facing the other direction,(First Name) dove forward and brushed her fingers against its foot, disintegrating it immediately.

“Thanks,(First Name). Watch your right.” Neito said, continuing to turn the robots that came near him to ash.

After the test ended,(First Name) and Neito high-fived,knowing they’d both passed; they’d each taken out plenty of robots.

“Are you sure you studied enough to pass the written test?” (First Name) asked, grinning at him.

“Of course I did,you idiot,” Neito said, walking with her out of the arena casually while the others who had participated in the test stared at them in shock. He looked over at her as they walked, smirking a little. “They’re scared of us.”

“Let them be scared of us,then. They don’t need to know anything about us.” (First Name) said, smirking back at him. She didn’t care if people were afraid of her; she was going to become a pro hero that was strong enough to protect everyone.

After they had both finished the written test of their exams,(First Name) and Neito walked home together in silence. (First Name) wanted to tell him how excited she was to become a pro hero with him,but she bit the words back and walked with him in silence.

It was just so hard to let you know

Now it's all too late

A week passed, and (First Name) ran outside to check her mailbox with a grin. Seeing the letter, she ran over to Neito’s house and knocked on the door, the blond answering with a groan. Upon seeing the letter in her hands, his eyes widened, realizing his own letter had arrived. He ran over to his mailbox and opened it,grabbing the letter.

“We promised to open them up at the same time, right? Let’s do it!” (First Name) said, ripping her letter open at the same time Neito did.

“(First Name) (Last Name),we here at U.A. are pleased to announce your results. You passed both the written and practical exam with flying colors, and you have been placed in U.A.’s Class 1-A.”

“Neito Monoma,we here at U.A. are pleased to announce your results. You passed both the written and practical exam with flying colors, and you have been placed in U.A.’s Class 1-B.”

“Wait, what?” (First Name) asked, staring at the hologram with wide eyes.

“Did it just say we were in different classes?” Neito asked, looking at (First Name) in shock.

“There’s no way, right?” (First Name) asked, making her own hologram replay. “Okay, mine said I’m in Class 1-A. Replay yours.”

Neito replayed his hologram, listening closely. “I’m in Class 1-B.. We’re in different classes..”

“Well it’s not that big of a deal, right?” (First Name) asked nervously; throughout their whole lives, they’d never been in different classes,so hearing they were suddenly in different classes freaked her out. “We’ll still be able to walk to school together and everything, right?”

“Yeah,sure.. Whatever..” Neito muttered, pushing his hair back and letting out a frustrated sigh. “I’m going in to tell my parents..”

“Alright..” (First Name) said awkwardly, stepping back and watching as he walked inside. Once the door swung shut behind him,she walked back over to her house, walking inside and sinking down in her room. She knew Neito was angry at her for being in a different class than him,but she couldn’t control it,which just made her feel worse.

(First Name) spent the night after getting the good news staring at her violin case in silence before eventually passing out.

What we had was beautiful

I didn't want to wreck it all

April came quickly, and after having a rather rough argument with Neito,(First Name) decided to start avoiding the boy. After waking up and getting ready for her first day,she walked out happily, humming a little bit as she walked by Neito’s house only to hear the blond walking behind her.

“(First Name),don’t go embarrassing yourself. If you’re someone good enough to get into Class 1-A,you’d better beat everyone.” Neito said, grabbing her shoulder and pulling her back so they were walking side-by-side.

“Neito,I’m not doing this with you again,” (First Name) said, jerking her shoulder out of his grip and sighing. “There’s no ‘great divide’ between Class 1-A and Class 1-B,we’re just in different classes.”

“Yeah, yeah, you say that, but you’re convinced you’re better than everyone else, aren’t you?” Neito asked, gritting his teeth. “You’re only in Class 1-A because we fought together.”

“Neito, please just shut the fuck up.” (First Name) said, sighing as she walked a little faster. She decided to start waking up and leaving for school earlier to prevent this from ever happening again.

“And why should I? Do you seriously think you’re better than me now just because you’re in a different class? I’ve always scored better than you on tests.” Neito growled out, walking faster so he’d be by her side again.

“Neito,I’ve never once said any of that,so just stop. You only get good scores on tests because we study together, anyways,so just shut up.” (First Name) snapped, gripping her bag tightly. Her eyes widened when she bumped into a boy with multiple arms, nearly falling over before he caught her.

“Are you alright?” Mezo asked, helping her steady herself.

“Ah,yeah.. Sorry for bumping into you..” (First Name) said, her face burning from embarrassment.

“It’s alright.” Mezo told her, smiling a little from underneath his mask.

(First Name)’s eyes widened and lit up when she saw one of Mezo’s spare limbs being used as a mouth. “Woah, that’s so cool! Is that your Quirk?” She asked, her previous anger disappearing.

“Part of it,yeah.. You’re a U.A. student as well?” Mezo said,a bit embarrassed that she actually seemed interested in his Quirk.

“Yep! Class 1-A. You’re pretty cool.. Wanna walk together?” (First Name) asked, grinning up at him. “I’m (First Name) (Last Name),by the way!”

“I’m in Class 1-A as well. Mezo Shoji.” Mezo introduced himself, starting to walk with her calmly. He noticed the shocked blond behind them, but he didn’t pay much attention.

“I’m looking forward to working with you, then!” (First Name) said, grinning up at him happily. “Your Quirk is super cool,by the way.”

“Thank you.” Mezo said, chuckling a little as he walked with the girl.

Upon arriving to U.A. and seeing her new classmates,(First Name) stared at them with wide eyes, amazed at how intense they all seemed. After finding her seat, she took it and laid her head down on the desk, listening to the yelling around her. She had never been one to approach people first, which was probably why Neito had been so shocked when she’d spoken to Mezo earlier, but she didn’t really care.

A short while later, she and her new classmates were ordered by their homeroom teacher,Mr.Aizawa,to meet him on the P.E. fields after changing into their new P.E. clothes. She walked with her female classmates to the changing rooms, not saying a word as she changed into the blue uniform in silence. After getting changed, she left to go to the P.E. fields,a blank expression on her face.

After their new teacher gave them the rules, and after seeing how far Katsuki threw the ball,(First Name) resolved to only use part of her Quirk so as to not hurt anyone.

“Begin.” Shota ordered once it was (First Name)’s turn for the 50 meter dash. His eyes widened when the girl turned into a giant bird, watching as she crossed the finish line a little over two seconds later. “2.5 seconds.”

(First Name) landed calmly, turning back into her human form and nodding a little. She wasn’t planning on showing all of her Quirk off,but she refused to fall into last place.

During the grip test,(First Name) scored 600 points, shocking her classmates with how much strength the seemingly tiny girl had. She passed the standing long jump with ease, but she didn’t do well on the side steps. During the ball throw, she sent it flying a respectable 700 meters.

“What’s your Quirk,(First Name)?” Mezo asked the girl as they waited for the results.

“It’s called ‘Phoenix’,since I have the most common abilities of the phoenix in mythology. Super strength,a phoenix form, fire abilities, and teleportation.. There are a few other things, but that’s the gist of it.” (First Name) explained, stretching out a little.

“Is there anything you’re weak against?” Mezo asked, his eyes widening. He had never heard of someone with a Quirk that sounded so strong.

“I don’t like iron, and I can’t be exposed to water for long periods of time.. I also can’t control the temperature of my flames,so when I use them, everything I touch turns to ash.” (First Name) told him, listening closely as their teacher listed their results. She’d earned a respectable seventh place due to her lack of effort during the side-step challenge.

(First Name) went with her classmates to change back into their uniforms, not paying much attention when Momo asked her about her Quirk. While she was fine with talking to Mezo, she didn’t have any intentions on talking to the rest of her classmates.

She walked home alone that day, unsurprised to hear her parents arguing in the kitchen once again.

Every day I think about the truth

(First Name) was pleasantly surprised when she saw Mezo waiting for her the next morning, running over to him happily. “Morning,Mezo!”

“Morning,(First Name),” Mezo said, looking over at Fumikage, who was beside him. “Fumikage and I live kinda close to each-other,so he’ll be walking with us from now on if you don’t mind.”

“Sure. It’s nice to meet you,Fumikage.” (First Name) greeted the boy happily, her eyes widening when she saw Dark Shadow.

“Hello!” Dark Shadow greeted her, looking at her curiously. “You’re the bird girl, right?”

“Yep,that’s me,” (First Name) said, patting Dark Shadow’s head and smiling. “You’re super cute!”

“Dark Shadow, that’s enough,” Fumikage ordered when he saw the creature nuzzling (First Name),sighing in relief when it returned. “Forgive Dark Shadow for its actions,it has a mind of its own.”

“It's so cute,though..” (First Name) muttered, giggling a bit when she saw how embarrassed Fumikage looked. “I’d like to talk with it more the next time you let it out,if that’s okay with you of course.”

“I will consider it.” Fumikage said, continuing the walk to U.A. with the strange girl and Mezo. He didn’t quite understand how anyone could consider Dark Shadow ‘cute’,but he didn’t think it was a bad compliment.

(First Name) smiled a little as they made it to the school, heading to their classroom happily. She took her seat immediately and laid her head down, not wanting anyone to bother her. Right before she dozed off,she realized Neito was probably bonding with his own classmates; he’d always been good at making friends, even though he was a jerk. She smiled a little at the thought, glad he was probably doing well, and drifted off.

When classes actually began,(First Name) woke up and paid close attention,a blank look on her face up until the Hero Basic Training class. Hearing they would be allowed to try on their costumes for the first time, she couldn’t help but get excited as she followed the others to the changing rooms.

(First Name) looked down at her costume after changing into it for the first time, actually liking the material. It was supposedly flame-proof,but she doubted any material could really withstand her flames. The knee-length black dress with blue accents was made to match Neito’s costume,as they’d designed them together, but she didn’t want to think about Neito anymore. Pulling the blue gloves on,she looked down at them, clenching and unclenching her fists as she felt the material. Grabbing the hat,she pulled it on,wondering if she actually even looked good in the costume. Everything had been made exactly as she’d described it,but she didn’t know if the material could withstand her flames if she actually tried to use them. The empty vials strapped across her waist were for her to fill with her tears for future use,and the shoes had been made to slip off easily in case she needed to quickly turn into her phoenix form. It wasn’t the most practical costume design, but it would hold up well enough for now.

Heading out to group up with the rest of her classmates, she grinned when she saw Fumikage and Mezo’s costumes. “You two look super cool!”

“Thanks.. You’re dressed as a magician?” Mezo asked,a little confused as to why her costume was designed the way it is.

“Yeah,it’s a long story, but since part of my Quirk is teleportation,I had the idea of tricking people into thinking that my Quirk had to do with performing magic tricks.” (First Name) explained,a bit embarrassed to admit it.

“What’s the hat for?” Fumikage asked, looking at her curiously.

“A magician never reveals all of their secrets.” (First Name) said, smirking at him playfully.

After counting the class and realizing there was an uneven number,All Might decided (First Name) should sit out for the day. After Minoru complained that she was getting special treatment,All Might told him she would be staying after school in order to do the exercise against a teacher because her Quirk was too dangerous for her to fight without Aizawa present. After the class accepted the answer,(First Name) just sat down and watched the battles in silence.

That afternoon,(First Name) faced Present Mic in the exercise with Aizawa watching over them. She lost the exercise quickly because she couldn’t withstand Present Mic’s screams, her ears too sensitive to handle it. After being told that she’d obviously failed, she thanked them and left the school after changing back into her uniform, not surprised she’d failed the exercise up against a teacher.

I wish I was

I wish I was

(First Name) didn’t vote for a class representative, sleeping through it since she didn’t have any interest in it. After waking up,she faintly recalled Tenya shouting at her to wake up and Fumikage telling him to leave her alone, but she shrugged it off as some sort of hallucination and yawned as she stretched out.

When lunch rolled around,(First Name) sat with Fumikage and Mezo in silence, eating quietly. When a stampede broke out,she was shoved around in the chaos, cursing as she tried to wriggle her way out. Her eyes widened when she finally made it to the edge of the crowd, her eyes widening when she bumped into a familiar blond boy.

“Get off of me,you idiot..” Neito said, pushing her back. His eyes widened when she got swept back into the crowd, though he didn’t try to move forward to find her.

(First Name) flinched when she felt someone step on her foot while she tried to make it back to the side, absolutely pissed off that Neito had just pushed her back into the crowd. She flinched when she was elbowed in the side, biting back another curse. After Tenya announced that it was just the media, and everyone calmed down as if nothing had ever happened in the first place, she limped back to the classroom with the others, her foot hurting like hell.

“(First Name),are you okay?” Mezo asked worriedly when he saw her limping, frowning when the girl nodded.

“I’m fine, someone just stepped on my foot..” (First Name) told him, taking her seat and sighing a little. She was upset at Neito, but her anger had already faded; she had never been able to stay angry at him for long, and she doubted he’d shoved her back into the crowd on purpose. Her side hurt really badly, but she ignored the pain since she knew her injuries would heal on their own soon enough.

“Are you sure you’re alright?” Fumikage asked the girl, not wanting to see one of his friends hurt.

“It’s just a bruise,it’ll heal on its own soon.” (First Name) told them, grinning.

After Aizawa came in and announced that they needed to suit up and get on a bus to head for an exercise off-campus,she went with the girls to the changing rooms. She ignored them when they expressed their concerns about the bruises on her side, knowing they’d heal up quickly. She headed out and got on the bus silently, staring out the window until they arrived at their destination.

After arriving at the U.S.J. facility,(First Name) listened to Thirteen’s speech, her eyes widening when she saw villains arrive through some sort of portal. She went to evacuate with the others, but she was suddenly sent away to the conflagration zone with the monkey-tailed boy.

“Hey,you’re the girl with the bird Quirk, right?” Mashirao asked, looking around at the villains around them. He didn’t know much about her,but he’d seen her performance during the Quirk Apprehension Test.

“Yeah. I have a plan, but you’ll have to trust me.” (First Name) said, keeping her back pressed against Mashirao’s and looking at the villains.

“Tell me what to do,then.” Mashirao said, not sure what she could possibly be thinking.

(First Name) spun around suddenly, grabbing his hand and teleporting them into one of the buildings. In a burst of flames, they disappeared and reappeared in one of the nearby burning buildings,(First Name) letting go of Mashirao’s hand and looking out the window as she tried to come up with a plan. “I can’t use my flames against them because it’d kill them, but I can knock them out if I hit them with my wings.. What do you specialize in?”

“How’d you teleport us?” Mashirao asked, staring at her in shock. “Isn’t your Quirk turning into a super strong bird or something?”

“I have a lot of abilities, but that’s besides the point right now. Just tell me what you’re good at,” (First Name) ordered, listening closely as Mashirao explained his Quirk. “As much as I hate to say it,we’re better off splitting up.. I’ll go for the big guys, and you should focus on the weaker ones. My wings can knock people out if they even brush them,so I’ll be able to take out the majority of them, but the ones in tighter spaces are up to you.”

“Alright..” Mashirao said,a bit confused as to why this girl was able to come up with a plan so quickly when they were in so much danger.

“I’ll teleport us to the roof of this building, and then I’ll turn into my phoenix form. I’ll drop you off on the ground and then focus on the big guys, alright?” (First Name) asked, grabbing his hand once he agreed.

After dropping him off on the ground,(First Name) flew straight at one of the villains, keeping her speed slow enough to see her surroundings. She locked her focus onto the group she was knocking out, oblivious to the fact that a man was sneaking up behind her. She stayed close to the ground, just taking out as many people as she could in order to lessen Mashirao’s burden, but she was suddenly knocked into the side of a building. She winced when she felt her wing snap, turning to see a man flying at her with some sort of iron pipe. She froze up,her mind going blank when she tried to come up with a plan. Her eyes widened when Mashirao swooped in and knocked the guy out,the monkey-tailed boy rushing over to her.

“Are you alright..? Oh,geez, your wing..” The blond asked, panicking a little when he saw how crooked it was. “Mr.Power Loader just got here,so that means we’re safe, but you need to get to Recovery Girl..”

(First Name) turned back into her human form, her arm limp at her side. “I’m fine..” She said, taking a few deep breaths as she blinked back tears. “Are you injured?”

“You’re not fine..” Mashirao said, wrapping an arm around her waist to try and support her.

“I said I’m fine!” (First Name) snapped, shoving him back with her good arm. Her injured arm was smoking at her side,Mashirao watching in shock as it healed itself.

“Is that part of your Quirk as well..?” The blond asked, immediately feeling stupid for asking the question.

“Yeah, but please don’t tell anyone..” (First Name) said, testing out her newly-healed arm by trying to move it. She relaxed once she realized it didn’t hurt, before grabbing Mashirao’s arm and pulling him out.

After discussing things with the police about the attack,(First Name) and the others were sent home and given the following day off from school.

Brave enough to love you

Brave enough to love you

(First Name) stayed in her bedroom most of the next day, curled up in bed. She stared at her violin case in silence, wishing she was brave enough to take it out and play again. While her Quirk could heal physical injuries, there was nothing that could ever heal her mental scars.

“Come on,Aki. It’s time for your walk.” Neito said as he tried to pull the dog outside. Since the dog wouldn’t move,he pulled as hard as he could on the leash and quickly shut the door once the dog was out of the house.

Hearing her friend’s voice,(First Name) stood up and walked over to her open window, looking down at him. Her eyes widened when they made eye-contact,the girl just grabbing her window and shutting it in silence before shutting her curtains. She knew he’d heard of the attack Class 1-A had experienced, but she could tell he wasn’t worried about her. She scolded herself for wishing he’d be concerned about her, knowing such a wish could never come true; the Neito Monoma she had grown up with had changed, and there was no way he’d ever return.

“(First Name),Neito’s out walking Aki! Don’t you want to go with them?” Her mother called as she walked up the stairs.

“Neito and I aren’t talking right now..” (First Name) told her mother, opening the door and forcing a bright smile. “He’s still mad at me for being in a different class,so we’re not really friends anymore..”

“Seriously? Well can you go get some groceries for us later? We need more rice and meat,” Her mother asked, sighing when she saw how reluctant her daughter looked. “Nevermind,I’ll do it myself.”

“No,it’s fine. I’ll go now,” (First Name) said, sighing a little. “Just give me the money and I’ll get it.”

“Thanks sweetie!” Her mother chirped, smiling brightly at her and grabbing her purse. She handed her the money and then listed out everything they’d need.

(First Name) scribbled out the list quickly and sighed, telling her mother she’d be back soon and leaving. She walked to the store silently, heading in the opposite direction Neito went.

After getting everything on the list,(First Name) headed home, sensing someone was staring at her. She looked behind her quietly when she was almost halfway home, noticing the same man that had been following her in the store was still there. She walked a little faster, gripping the bags tighter when she heard him walk faster as well. She didn’t like that she was being followed,so she broke out into a sprint, absolutely terrified.

Turning onto her street, she saw Neito and Aki on their way home, running over and hiding behind them quickly. “I’m sorry,I know this is stupid, but please just scare him off..” She told Neito, trembling a little.

“What are you talking about?” Neito asked, his eyes widening when Aki started to snarl and bark as the man turned the corner.

“He followed me from the store..” (First Name) said, gripping the groceries tightly. She was able to be brave when she could use her Quirk, but she couldn’t use it outside of school. She stayed close to Neito when the man passed them, not missing how he stared at her. She waited until he was out of sight before she relaxed, taking a few deep breaths.

“Are you sure he wasn’t just going the same direction?” Neito asked, tugging on the leash to make Aki calm down.

“I know he was following me. He started running when I did,and he was staring at me just now!” (First Name) said, still a bit freaked out by what had just happened. She blew her bangs out of her face, sighing a little. “Thanks for helping me..”

“Well he’s gone now,so just go home.” Neito said, walking off with a sigh.

(First Name) watched as he went inside, looking around carefully before going into her own house. She set the groceries down, telling her mother about how the guy had followed her from the store. When her mother just waved her off,she let out a sigh and went up to her room, knowing something had been off about the man.

(First Name) stayed awake the majority of that night, too anxious to sleep. Looking out her window every few minutes, she looked out at the street below, terrified she’d actually see the man again. She eventually dozed off on accident after shutting and locking her window.

Neito was fast asleep for the majority of the night until he heard Aki barking and snarling like crazy in the backyard. He let out a groan and went to see what was wrong, pushing the door open and looking around. When he saw that he was near the fence to the front yard,he sighed and grabbed his leash, pushing the gate open. His eyes widened when Aki took off into the front yard, stumbling after the dog quickly while gripping his leash still. “What the hell is wrong with you?!” He asked, his eyes widening when he saw the man from earlier standing in front of (First Name)’s house. Aki let out a snarl and kept barking,Neito letting go of the leash a little so Aki would scare the guy. “Hey,you. The fuck are you doing?”

“Me?” The man asked, stumbling back when Aki nearly bit him.

“If you don’t fuck off right now,I’ll let go of his leash and call the police. He’s a trained guard dog.” Neito threatened, glaring at the man coldly.

“I’m just here because that girl was being followed earlier! I’m a pro hero!” The guy said, holding his hands up quickly. “I wasn’t trying to be creepy or anything, but I wanted to make sure she got home safe!”

“Show me your hero license,” Neito snapped, gripping the leash tighter. He tugged it once when the guy held up a card, grabbing it and jumping back quickly in case he tried to attack. Looking over the card,he relaxed upon seeing it really was a hero license, giving it back to the man. “What do you mean she was being followed earlier? You weren’t the only one following her?”

“No,I wasn’t.. There was a man with black hair and a creepy smile on his face following her while I was out on patrol, but I don’t think she saw him. I followed her into the store to try and warn her,but she kept avoiding me when I followed her into aisles, and I didn’t get the opportunity to warn her,so I followed her. I was under the assumption that this was your house since I saw you with a dog here, and I was hoping to ask if you knew whether she got home safely or not..”

“And you waited until the middle of the night to do it?” Neito asked,Aki sitting at his feet and staring at the hero.

“I wasn’t gonna worry about it because I was under the impression that you would’ve walked her home, but I couldn’t stop thinking about it and came to check.. I’m really sorry that I bugged you,but can I ask if you know whether she got home safely or not?” The hero told him, rubbing the back of his neck and sighing.

“She’s fine. She’s probably asleep right now,so you won’t be able to check for yourself, but she’s safe,” Neito said, sighing a little. “Did you get the man that had been following her?”

“No.. He had disappeared when I looked before turning onto this street earlier,” The hero sighed, pushing his hair off to the side. “Anyways, thanks for letting me know she got home safely.. I’ll be going now.”

“Right..” Neito muttered, pulling on the leash. Aki turned back and went back to the house calmly, still keeping on alert. After putting Aki back in his doghouse,Neito patted his head and praised him for being a good boy before heading inside and going back to sleep.

I wish I was

I wish I was

(First Name) and her classmates returned to school the next day,and like many of her classmates, she was amazed when Shota showed up. She stared at the teacher in silence, wishing she could help with his injuries, before remembering how her mother had warned her against showing off her Quirk’s healing abilities.

The girl listened silently when Shota spoke about the sports festival, struggling to stay awake. While she was eager to show off as a student of U.A.,she was worried about how dangerous her Quirk was.

“(First Name),aren’t you excited?” Mezo asked her, looking over at her curiously.

“I am,but I’m really tired..” (First Name) said, rubbing the back of her neck.

“Did you not sleep well last night?” Fumikage asked curiously, knowing she was an insomniac.

“I..” (First Name) looked down at her desk, debating whether or not she should tell them. Deciding she should, she admitted the truth. “Last night, this man followed me from the store, and I’m worried it could happen again..”

“Why didn’t you call someone?” Mezo asked, worried she could’ve been hurt. “Did he do anything to you?”

“No,but I was really anxious about it..” (First Name) admitted, not looking up from her desk.

“Did you make a report?” Mezo asked, sighing a little. “Listen,we need to exchange numbers. If something like that ever happens again, you just need to call me,alright?”

“I didn’t make a report ‘cause my mother didn’t seem worried about it.. And I don’t wanna bug you,it’s not that big of a deal..” (First Name) told him, fiddling with her fingers.

“Making sure you feel safe is what a friend is supposed to do,(First Name). You calling me when you’re upset or scared will never make me mad,” Mezo told her, patting her head. “Let’s exchange numbers, alright?”

“Promise you won’t get angry if I really do call you?” (First Name) asked, looking up at him nervously. When he nodded, she calmed down a little and exchanged contact information with him.

“Exchange information with me as well,” Fumikage said, holding his phone out to (First Name). “Dark Shadow and I will always come to help if you’re in trouble.”

(First Name) slowly nodded, exchanging contact information with Fumikage as well. Looking down at the new contacts, she couldn’t help but smile to herself, glad she had made new friends.

That afternoon,(First Name) was amazed to see the crowd outside of the door to the classroom. When she saw Neito, she wanted to call out to him and thank him again for helping her the previous day,but she got distracted when Mezo asked if she wanted to walk home together. Looking over at him,she nodded a little. “Sure, but I’ve gotta..” (First Name) trailed off as she looked back at the crowd, sighing when she didn’t see him there. Deciding she could no longer focus on her feelings for Neito, she turned to her friends. “Nevermind,we can go now.”

“Fumikage, let’s go.” Mezo told the shorter boy,who nodded and walked on (First Name)’s other side.

“You guys are acting like bodyguards,” (First Name) pointed out, giggling a bit as they walked together. “I’m glad you guys are worried about me,but I don’t really need a daily escort.”

“We’re just being good friends.” Mezo said, chuckling a little as he walked with his friends. He wanted to help (First Name) out however he could because they were friends.

“Dark Shadow would rampage if I didn’t protect you. It likes you because you called it cute.” Fumikage told her calmly, keeping his eyes ahead.

“Well Dark Shadow is absolutely adorable,so I’m glad it likes me.” (First Name) admitted, grinning at them.

After her ‘escorts’ made sure she got home safely,(First Name) walked inside and set to work on her chores in silence, smiling a little to herself as she scrubbed the floors. She had friends now,and she found she quite enjoyed the feelings friendship brought.

Brave enough to love you

Brave enough, brave enough

(First Name) spent the two weeks leading up to the sports festival training with her classmates, working hard on trying to control the temperature of her flames. She made no progress despite her training, turning everything her flames touched to ash despite her efforts.

The day of the sports festival came, and (First Name) was there with her classmates when Shoto confronted Izuku in the waiting room, though she wasn’t interested in the drama. When Tenya told them it was time to go,she followed everyone onto the field in silence.

After the speech Katsuki gave, and after Midnight declared the first test had begun, she turned into her bird form and flew through the door, narrowly avoiding one of the robots. Coating herself in flames, she swooped back around, turning the robot into ash immediately before spinning. The flames disappeared as she spun, but she paused in the air when she suddenly remembered the guy that had followed her home, terror filling her as she looked at the crowd.

Despite being one of the first few people to reach the finish line of the first test, she didn’t pass the line. She was terrified, feeling like everyone was looking at her. Instead of crossing the line, she just landed and stayed there until they announced that the first test was over. She was glad her classmates had made it through, and even happier that Neito had made it,but she couldn’t bring herself to cross the line.

When the people who had been disqualified from advancing to the second round were told to go to the stands to cheer their teammates on,(First Name) waited until she was in the empty corridor to turn into her human form, the girl sinking down the wall as she buried her face in her knees and tried to breathe.

“Ms.(Last Name),you alright?” Cementoss asked as he walked over to the girl, kneeling down in front of her as the other disqualified students walked by.

“I don’t like it..” (First Name) whimpered out, keeping her face hidden as she tried to calm herself down. “I don’t wanna go to the stands.. I’m scared..”

“What’re you afraid of?” Cementoss asked, keeping his voice as gentle as he could manage. While he wasn’t the best at comforting students,he couldn’t walk away when a student was so scared.

“They were staring at me..” (First Name) said, squeezing her eyes shut. “I don’t want them to stare at me like that..”

“Come with me,okay? I know someone who can help you feel better.” Cementoss said, deciding that taking her to Nezu was the best course of action.

(First Name) evened out her breathing a little and stood up,nodding a little as she followed him numbly to Principal Nezu’s office. “Why here..?”

“He’ll be able to calm you down better than I can,so just go talk to him, okay?” Cementoss asked, smiling a little when she nodded. After making sure she went into Nezu’s office,he left.

“Ah,Ms.(Last Name),correct? Please, come sit down. Tell me what happened.” Nezu said, climbing up onto his couch and nodding at the couch across from him.

“I..” (First Name) sat down across from him, looking down at her hands as she tried to think of what to say. “I panicked.. After an incident a few years ago,I stopped being able to relax when in front of large groups of people, and few weeks ago a guy followed me from the store.. I just.. I got anxious when thinking it could happen again, and I wasn’t able to cross the line..”

“You understand that many people will be watching you once you become a pro hero, correct?” Nezu asked, smiling a little when she nodded. “I understand being anxious about people seeing you and your Quirk in action, but I don’t wish for you to hide your abilities. I have heard from many of your teachers that you have been avoiding the spotlight as much as possible since the beginning of the school year, and I’m assuming that your anxieties are why.”

“You’re correct,sir..” (First Name) said, swallowing her fears as best as she could. “I haven’t been trying to be disrespectful to the teachers or anything, but when I think of what could happen if I mess up,I’m unable to move..”

“Then why not think of what could happen if you don’t move?” Nezu asked calmly, brewing two cups of tea before sliding one over to her. “I have gone over your file quite a few times to try and figure out why you’re not as your middle-school teachers described you,but I believe I understand better now. You and Mr.Monoma were childhood friends, correct?”

“Yes,sir,we were..” (First Name) said, grabbing the teacup and thanking him as she sipped the tea. Setting it back on the table, she relaxed a little. “But what does that have to do with now?”

“I believe the reason you’re hesitant to move now is because you were used to someone guarding your back. Here at U.A.,nobody will guard your back except for yourself during competitions, which is why you’re probably terrified of competing,” Nezu told her, sipping his own tea before smiling pleasantly. “So,instead of focusing on what you could do wrong by trying, why not think of what could go wrong if you don’t try?”

“Like what?” (First Name) asked softly, looking down. She had always been praised by her teachers and peers for being ‘gifted’,but she had never once felt like she’d actually accomplished anything.

“If you become a pro hero, but you’re too afraid to move, people will die. If you hold back because you’re afraid you’ll somehow hurt someone’s feelings,or because you’re worried you’ll still fail, you’ll never improve.” Nezu explained, taking another sip of his tea.

“So I can’t hold back?” (First Name) asked, looking down at her hands. “What if something goes wrong?”

“If something goes wrong, you’ll have the support of your classmates and your teachers to help you fix it. I believe you could be a powerful hero in the future if you gain confidence,” Nezu told her, smiling as he sat his teacup down. “Do you feel better now?”

“Yes,sir.. Thank you for letting me come here..” (First Name) said, smiling a little bit. “I should probably get to the stands so I can watch the rest of the festival..”

“While you’re here,Ms.(Last Name),please remember our school motto.” Nezu told her, smiling as he watched her leave his office.

After going to the stands,(First Name) watched the remainder of the festival in silence, glad that none of her classmates asked her about why she hadn’t advanced to the second round.

Brave enough to love you

(First Name) was relieved when they were given the two days following the sports festival off. Instead of resting like they had been encouraged to,she spent her time off reading over college textbooks in silence.

After a while of sitting in her chair,(First Name) let out a sigh and looked up at the ceiling quietly, biting her lip. “There’s some things I should have said.. I was too afraid.. It was just so hard to let you know..” She sang, looking back at the textbooks stacked on her desk. “Not it’s all too late.. What we had was beautiful,I didn’t wanna wreck it all.. Everyday I think about the truth..” She continued, standing up and walking over to her window to look over at Neito’s adjacent window. “I wish I was,I wish I was..” She started, her eyes widening when she realized her window was open and he was staring at her. She grabbed her window and slammed it shut quickly, shutting the curtains immediately afterwards and retreating to her bed with a groan.

(First Name) spent the rest of her last day off humming the song to herself while she gripped onto her pillow and stared at her violin case. She wanted to play, but she could never bring herself to look at the instrument again.

Upon her return to school the following day,she was glad to hear they were choosing their hero names, already having a plan for hers. Upon seeing their offers, she was shocked to see she had gotten one, staring at the number in amazement.

“(First Name),you managed to get one without passing the first round. That means someone recognized and acknowledged your strength.” Mezo told her, happy she had gotten an offer.

“I guess so..” (First Name) said, smiling a tiny bit. “I’m glad someone wants someone like me on their team..”

Watching her classmates choose their hero names,(First Name) stared at the whiteboard in her hands, writing the name she wanted. Standing up,she reluctantly made her way to the front of the class, putting it up and facing them. “I chose The Phoenix Hero: Kou.. As you can tell,it’s written as ‘large bird’,but it also is a reference to how the phoenix in mythology ‘revives’..”

“That’s a great name!” Midnight praised, watching as the girl thanked her and retreated back to her seat.

During lunch,(First Name) sat with Fumikage and Mezo, looking at them curiously. “Have you two chosen where to go yet?”

“I haven’t chosen yet,but who was it that put in an offer for you?” Mezo asked, looking at her curiously.

“Hawks, but I’m not sure whether it’s a good idea or not..” (First Name) admitted,a little embarrassed.

“You were chosen by Hawks as well?” Fumikage asked, glad his friend would be interning with him if she chose to. “We should do it together.”

“I don’t know why he’d want me at his agency, but if you’ll be there, then I’ll go,” (First Name) said, glad that Fumikage would be there with her. “I’m glad you’ll be there,Fumikage.”

“Likewise.” Fumikage said,continuing to eat.

(First Name) sat in bed that night, looking at her hands as she remembered Nezu’s words. “I’m supposed to go beyond: plus ultra, right?” She asked herself, sighing a little. “If it was as easy as he acted like it was,I would have already done it..”

You stripped away the walls I built

Like no one ever has

(First Name) was amazed to realize she could keep up with Hawks during her internship, the girl flying beside him happily. Since the sidekicks and Fumikage couldn’t keep up with them, they landed on a building for a second,(First Name) turning back into her human form when Hawks ordered her to. “What’s wrong, sir?”

“Why’d you hold back during the sports festival if you’re this fast?” Hawks asked, looking at her. “There are only a few pro heroes that can keep up with me when I fly that fast, but you kept up well enough. What made you stop?”

“I was scared,” (First Name) said, looking out over the city and sighing. “When I was younger,I had a really bad experience when I was doing something I enjoyed, and I haven’t been able to properly deal with crowds since then.. When I get in front of a large group of people,I just.. Freeze up.”

“And how come you don’t use your flames? I saw them when you were flying during the festival, and they seemed pretty cool.” Hawks asked, raising an eyebrow.

“My flames turn everything to ash.. When I try to control the temperature, they eat everything up even faster..” (First Name) admitted, clenching and unclenching her fists.

“Have you tried thinking of the things you’re going to burn as someone dear to you?” Hawks asked, chuckling a bit when he saw how shocked she looked. “Take a piece of wood, for example, and imagine it as someone important to you trapped under something. Then, try to burn only half of it.”

“I’ll have to try that in the future,then..” (First Name) muttered,a bit embarrassed she hadn’t thought of that beforehand.

“You’re holding back your speed even now, aren’t you? Why not spread your wings properly? I’ll race you full-speed to the other side of town.” Hawks said, grinning a little as he flapped his own wings. He took off flying before she could even agree, wanting to try and encourage her into flying faster.

(First Name) watched in shock, before she turned into her bird form and flew after him. She tried to get herself to fly faster, but she hesitated and held back when she realized she wasn’t ready to do it. She landed only moments after Hawks did, turning into her human form and apologizing immediately.

“Why’re you apologizing? You just haven’t gotten used to spreading your wings yet. If we flew above the clouds, you’d probably feel safe enough to actually fly,” Hawks told her, chuckling a bit. “Just try and push yourself this week, alright?”

“Yes,sir..” (First Name) said, glad he wasn’t angry at her.

After the internships were over, and she’d returned home,(First Name) was eager for her first day back at U.A.,unable to sleep that night.

The next day, during hero basic training, she stood at the starting line after turning into her bird form, remembering her mentor’s words.

“Hey,(First Name). Don’t hold back.” Fumikage told her from beside her.

“And begin!” All Might ordered, his eyes widening when he saw a flash of red as (First Name) bolted into the sky.

‘If what Hawks said is true, and if being above the clouds is what will make me fly full-speed,I won’t hold back..’ (First Name) thought to herself, spreading her wings fully and looking around. She was amazed at how fast she was flying once she finally spread her wings, twirling around in the air before remembering the exercise. She dove down through the clouds, trying to lower her speed as she did,and then immediately crashed into a building.

“(First Name),are you alright?” Fumikage worriedly asked as he approached her,Mezo close behind him.

“Did you get hurt?” Mezo asked, anxious as he stared at her.

(First Name) turned into her human form, the girl throwing her head back and laughing. “Didn’t you see me?! I was so fast! That was awesome!” She shouted, unable to hold back her excitement. “It was only for a few seconds, but that was so cool!”

“I thought you were still hesitant to fly full-speed. What changed?” Mezo asked, amazed that she seemed so happy after crashing into a building.

“Hawks told me that flying above the clouds makes people feel safe, and I was too afraid to try it during the internships, but when I did it just now it was like ‘whoosh!’ and I just.. It was awesome!” (First Name) shouted, laughing happily. “I’ve gotta fly like that from now on! I could save a bunch of people if I get used to that speed!”

After the class was over and (First Name) went to the locker room with the girls, she was shocked when Mina complimented her newfound speed. Staring at her stupidly, her face heated up. “I.. Thank you..” She said awkwardly, her face burning from embarrassment.

“It was super cool,(Last Name)! I didn’t think anyone could fly that fast!” Ochaco told her, grinning happily.

“Tha.. Thanks..” (First Name) squeaked out,her face burning from embarrassment. She had been praised plenty of times before, but she was actually happy she was being praised this time.

(First Name) wasn’t surprised when she heard some of her classmates whine about the final exams taking place at the end of next week. She was confident in her abilities to place highly; she had always been good at studying. When Neito tried to bully their class and got knocked out by Itsuka, she bit back her anger, knowing he deserved it for being a jerk.

The day of the final exams, after finishing the written portion, she changed into her hero costume and went with the others to take their practical exam.

“Every pair of students in this class will be facing one teacher, except for Ms.(Last Name),who will be fighting alone.” Nezu announced calmly; he’d decided this immediately after deciding to change the practical exam.

“Sir,that isn’t fair. Why does (Last Name) have to face a teacher alone?” Tenya asked, not believing the great U.A. would single out a single student like that.

“She’s fighting Cementoss alone because there’s an uneven number of students in this class, and for a few other reasons as well. Once you all see the fight, you’ll understand,” Nezu told them calmly, before looking at (First Name). “Are you alright with this,Ms.(Last Name)?”

“Yes,sir,” (First Name) said, straightening her stance. “Thank you for this opportunity.”

“(First Name),are you sure about this? You just started flying full-speed,right?” Mezo asked worriedly, not wanting her to push herself too much.

“If I keep holding back,I can’t get better.” (First Name) said, her eyes full of determination.

Once it was her turn to face up against Cementoss, she threw her hat in the air and turned into her bird form, disappearing into the clouds immediately. She watched from above as Cementoss built walls around himself, gripping the hat in her beak.

“Why is (Last Name) paired up against Cementoss alone?” Izuku asked Recovery Girl, staring at the screen in confusion.

“According to Principal Nezu, that little miss has never fought on her own properly. Her weakness is her giant lack of confidence in her abilities.” Recovery Girl told him, keeping a close eye on the screen.

(First Name) prepared herself before diving down, narrowly avoiding a wall Cementoss brought up to try and knock her out of the sky. Dodging through the walls he built, she circled around, deciding she had to escape after all.  She slowed her speed down a little, wincing when she felt something slam into her left wing suddenly. She could feel the bone snap, but she wrapped her right wing around herself and spun as she landed on the other side of the exit gate, having to sacrifice her right wing as she crashed.

“She crashed, but she still passes, right?” Mezo asked, watching the screen worriedly.

“I don’t think her wings are okay.. She’s not moving..” Ochaco muttered, biting her lip as she stared at the monitor. Her eyes widened when she saw (First Name)’s wings were smoking, wondering if she’d used her flames or something. “Why is she smoking?”

“She did that back at the U.S.J. attack as well.. She broke her wing, and then it healed up on it’s own..” Mashirao said, clenching his fists.

(First Name) sat up and turned into her human form, trying to move her arm and wincing since it still hurt. “I passed, right?” She asked when Cementoss ran over to her.

“Yes,but are you alright? I hit you pretty hard with that wall, and that crash was nasty..” Cementoss asked anxiously, hoping he hadn’t hurt her too badly.

“My arms have already healed,” (First Name) told him, grinning a little. “They ache a little bit for right now,but they’ll be back to normal by tomorrow.”

“Right..” Cementoss said awkwardly, amazed that she seemed so happy.

After being told they were all going to the training camp regardless of whether they passed or failed the practical exam,(First Name) hesitated to accept the invitation to go shopping with her classmates, only agreeing when Mezo and Fumikage said they were going.

Meeting up later that day,(First Name) split off to explore the mall with Mezo and Fumikage, pausing in front of a music store when she saw a familiar head of blond hair. “Is tha-”

“(First Name),you mentioned you used to play the violin, right?” Mezo asked, looking around the mall curiously. “I’d love to hear it one day if you’re willing to play it.”

“Huh? I don’t really think I’ll be able to play it again anytime soon..” (First Name) said, turning her attention to her friends. “What supplies are you guys getting, anyways?”

“Probably just a few simple things.. I’m not big on having a lot of things.” Mezo admitted as he walked away from the store with her and Fumikage.

“I will be purchasing a new bracelet.” Fumikage said simply as he walked.

“Let’s have fun, then.” (First Name) said, smiling at them as they continued to explore the mall happily.

When the class invited her out to swim in the school pool after the semester had officially ended, she turned down the proposal but thanked them for asking. She spent the day poking at her violin case, trying to work up the courage to open it.

The hardest part's we'll never know

If we were meant to last

(First Name) was happy to be going to the training camp, but she wasn’t nearly as excited as her classmates seemed to be. When Itsuka knocked Neito out for insulting Class 1-A again, she clenched her fists to calm herself down, taking a few deep breaths. After boarding, she went straight to sleep in her seat, not minding how noisy the others were because she was wearing her noise-canceling headphones.

When she was shaken awake by Ochaco and told they were all getting off the bus to stretch, she thanked her and got off, yawning as she stretched out and looked around. When she and the others were suddenly thrown into the forest, she landed and looked around in confusion, sighing when she realized they were already beginning training camp.

‘Should I just fly people to the lodge..?’ She thought to herself, before shaking the thought away upon realizing it would defeat the entire point of the exercise. She decided to make it through the forest with her classmates, using her super strength to beat all of the ‘monsters’ sent after her.

After they made it to the lodge hours later, she was among the last of her classmates to leave the forest, the girl nearly falling forward before Mezo caught her arm and helped her get her balance. She muttered her thanks and then went with her classmates to unload the bus, thanking the Pussycats when they cooked for them. She ate quickly and then disappeared to her room, not wanting to bathe with the other girls there.

Once they all returned after their baths,(First Name) finally bathed, returning to her room and passing out immediately. She stayed curled up peacefully for the entire night, not budging until she was shaken awake early the next morning.

The first day of ‘actual’ training,(First Name) was ordered to fly around and control her speed, the girl turning into her bird form and disappearing into the sky. She flew around quickly, focusing on trying to adapt to her fastest speed. She flapped her wings quickly and glided, enjoying how good the wind felt. When she tried to land, she crashed into the ground rather roughly, the girl getting up after laying there for a minute and taking flight once again.

The second day of ‘actual’ training,(First Name) once again crash-landed when Class 1-B showed up,getting up and shaking her wings out immediately. She saw Neito’s shocked expression, but she turned her attention to her teacher when he called her name.

“Imagine someone is on your back while you’re flying, and that they’ll get injured if you crash-land.” Aizawa ordered, smirking a little when she nodded and took off into the sky in a blur of orange-and-red.

(First Name)’s next landing was smoother, but she still nearly crashed into a tree. Turning to look at Aizawa eagerly to see his reaction, she was happy to see him nod,the girl taking off into the sky happily.

On the third day of their training,(First Name) approached Aizawa, biting her lip. “Sir,can I change what I’m trying to practice?”

“What for?” Aizawa asked, looking at her with a blank expression on his face.

“I want to try and control the temperature of my flames.. I know I can’t be a hero if I can’t use my Quirk completely,so I need to stop turning things into ash..” (First Name) said, looking down nervously. “I want to be a hero that can save people, not one who accidentally turns them to ash..”

“Very well. Start by practicing on rocks, then.” Aizawa ordered, glad she was aware of her faults.

“Thanks, sir!” (First Name) said, rushing off to begin training eagerly. Grabbing a large rock, she set it on a tree stump and stared at her hand, watching as the flames engulfed it. She tried to imagine the rock as a person and cool her flames off,but she instantly turned the rock to ash. Letting out a sigh, she realized this would be a long day.

That night,(First Name) took the test of courage alone, confident she’d be fine on her own. When they were attacked, she passed out because she was right beside Mustard when he released his gas, completely unaware of the fact that her classmates were being attacked.

After emergency services arrived and she was taken to the hospital,(First Name) woke up three days later to an empty hospital room. Unsurprised by the fact that she was alone, she slipped out of bed and sighed, checking her texts. Seeing a text from her mentor asking if she was alright, she told him she was fine and thanked him for his concern before deciding it was time to return home.

That afternoon,(First Name) returned home alone after a long train ride and a long walk. Walking into the house, she greeted her parents casually and headed up to her room, listening as they began to shout at each-other about how neither of them had gone to pick her up from the train station. After calmly telling them both she was fine, she collapsed in bed and curled up,letting out a sniffle. She was used to having at least Neito by her side, but the blond hadn’t even texted her. Gripping onto her pillow, she buried her face and sniffled, passing out rather quickly.

The next day,(First Name) sat in the living room with her parents as Shota explained the dorm system to them.

“It would be best for a child like her to be where professionals can keep her,so of course she can move into the dorms.” Her mother said calmly, sipping her tea.

“These dorms are a blessing. Please keep an eye on her,” Her father said, folding up his newspaper and finally looking at Aizawa calmly. “She’s a child with many talents,so she should make a perfect pro hero in the future.”

“Thank you.” Shota said, relieved when he got to leave minutes later.

What we had was beautiful

I didn't want to wreck it all

(First Name) stood in front of the new dorms, listening as her teacher threatened to expel everyone who had known about the rescue mission. After the tour of the building, she started to unpack her stuff.

(First Name) started with putting her violin case at the foot of her bed, feeling like her hands were burning as she touched it. She then set to work on unpacking the rest of her stuff, making her bed with her favorite blanket and decorating the room as she preferred.

When it was dark out,(First Name) finally finished with her room, walking down to see whether Mezo and Fumikage had finished. She reluctantly agreed to participate in the Room King Contest, following her classmates to the dorm rooms of everyone.

When they made it to (First Name)’s room, everyone was shocked to see it. There was a bookshelf in the corner that was lined with textbooks in multiple languages,a desk sitting where the t.v. should have been. On the wall,(First Name) had hung up the pictures of herself and Neito when they were kids, both of them grinning in the pictures as they posed together.

“(Last Name),you were friends with Monoma?” Eijiro asked, shocked that she had been friends with the annoying blond.

“Our parents are neighbors and good friends,so we grew up together.. He kinda cut me off after finding out I’m in Class 1-A,though..” (First Name) said, rubbing the back of her neck awkwardly.

“That was a dick move..” Kyoka muttered, her eyes widening when she realized the words had slipped out. Quickly trying to change the subject, she looked at the violin case. “You play the violin,(First Name)?”

“I used to,but I can’t bring myself to play it now..” (First Name) admitted, rubbing the back of her neck. “I lost all of my confidence when it came to playing after a performance went wrong.. Anyways, let’s return to the contest, yeah?”

After hearing the results of the contest,(First Name) congratulated Rikido and then went to bed,not really wanting to stay up any longer. Flopping down on her bed,she pulled her pillow close and squeezed her eyes shut, trying to convince herself that she was fine even without Neito right next door.

The next morning,(First Name) woke up early and left to go to class first, bumping into Neito on her way. She muttered an apology and headed straight into the classroom without looking back at him, yawning as she sat down. She slept straight through homeroom, but once classes started, she listened closely.

When she and her classmates were ordered to change and meet in Gym Gamma, she walked there silently, deciding she needed to learn to control the temperature of her flames.

Three days straight of intensive Quirk training,(First Name) managed to leave Ectoplasm’s clones only half-burnt after convincing herself the clone was a fragile teacup.

Two days later, and (First Name) only gave the clone a few minor burns, the girl breaking into a cheer happily. She was finally able to control the temperature, even if she needed to focus to do it,which meant she really could use her flames to help people. When she heard Neito taunting her classmates from the door, she just rolled her eyes and listened to her teacher.

The day of the provisional licensing exam,(First Name) was beyond frustrated that she couldn’t turn into her phoenix form during the first test. After separating from her classmates and catching a small group off-guard,she passed the test and went to wait with the others that had passed.

(First Name) worked well with the others during the rescue exercises, helping them find the ‘injured’ people by turning into her bird form and examining the terrain. She even carried a few people on her back to the makeshift medical station, which earned her a solid 90 points.

After getting her provisional license, she took a picture and sent it to Hawks, wanting to see how he’d react to the news of her improvement. During the bus ride, while waiting for a reply, she fell asleep, gripping her phone tightly the entire time.

After returning to the dorms, she crawled into bed and passed out immediately after taking a shower, snuggling with her pillow happily.

(First Name) attended the opening ceremony with her classmates, walking straight by Neito when he criticized her classmates.

Neito went to open his mouth, though he fell silent when he saw Fumikage and Mezo glaring at him sharply as they followed (First Name). He backed off, realizing it was best he didn’t say anything to (First Name) for now.

After listening to Nezu’s weird speech, she went to the classroom with the rest of her classmates. After hearing about the Hero-Work studies, she and Fumikage both decide they should reach out to Hawks if they’re allowed to participate in the studies.

Every day I think about the truth

(First Name) was ecstatic when she and Fumikage were approved to go to Hawks’s agency for their hero-work studies. Rushing into the building, she spotted the man and grinned. “Hawks! Hawks, let’s go flying, okay?!” She asked him excitedly, her eyes sparkling.

“Woah, woah, chill out there.. Why are you so eager to go flying?” Hawks asked, chuckling a bit when he saw how excited she looked.

“Because I can beat you this time!” (First Name) told him, grinning. “And I can control the temperature of my flames now!”

“Really now? You’re that confident?” Hawks asked, raising an eyebrow. “What gave you so much confidence all of a sudden?”

“Please, let’s just go to the roof and fly! I wanna show off!” (First Name) urged, trying to pull him towards the elevator. “Fumikage can definitely keep up with you now as well!”

“Alright,alright..” Hawks sighed, following her onto the elevator with Fumikage close behind. “Has she actually improved?”

“Due to your instructions, she finally spread her wings.” Fumikage said calmly, knowing Hawks wasn’t ready to see how fast (First Name) had become.

“Then I’ll definitely have to see about that, huh?” Hawks asked, chuckling a bit. When the elevator opened on the roof,he walked out and looked around, before locking his eyes on a building that was barely visible in the distance. “We’ll all race there, alright?”

“Whoever lands first wins, right?” (First Name) asked, grinning a little when her mentor nodded. She turned into her bird form and flapped her wings a little, waiting for Hawks to count down.

“3.. 2… 1.. Go!” Hawks shouted, his eyes widening when (First Name) shot off in a red-and-orange blur. He looked at Fumikage in shock, who used Dark Shadow to travel towards the building. Realizing his students were leaving him behind,he shot off after them with a laugh.

(First Name) stayed above the clouds as she flew, before diving down. Remembering Aizawa’s words, she imagined she was carrying someone and lowered her speed so she wouldn’t crash-land. Landing on the building, she turned into her human form and laughed when Hawks arrived after her. “I won!”

“You finally spread your wings, huh?” Hawks asked, chuckling when he realized Fumikage hadn’t arrived yet. “Now all we gotta do is get Tokoyami flying so he’s not confined to the ground.”

“I was wondering about that, and I thought Dark Shadow might be able to carry him! Since it’s able to touch things, and act as a sort of armor around him,it’d make sense for it to be able to carry him, right?” (First Name) asked, grinning a little.

“That might just work,actually..” Hawks said, pausing to think for a minute; he couldn’t let her think her own techniques were perfect already. “The only question I have is how you’re going to save people in your bird form. If you catch people, that’s fine, but what about the people who are on the ground? You have to prioritize saving every life,so how can you do that as a bird?”

“I..” (First Name) stopped, looking down at her hands for a second. “I want to be able to shoot my flames instead of just coating myself in them,so I was thinking of changing my costume to do that.. If there’s a building falling,or a bunch of rubble,I want to be able to control my flames well enough that they don’t hurt people.”

“There are only so many things you can do with your Quirk, but you need to think of what kind of hero you wanna be,” Hawks told her, patting her head before turning to Fumikage when he finally arrived. “Tokoyami,I’m gonna spend this week focusing on you. I wanna see how much you’ve grown.”

“Yes sir.” Fumikage said calmly, knowing he still needed to improve if he wanted to become a pro hero.

October began, and after finding new resolve during her internship with Hawks,(First Name) marched into the Costume Development Studio. Bowing deeply to Power Loader, she asked him to look at her new hero costume idea, and was then shocked when he agreed to make it,telling her she’d have to wear her current costume in the meantime. She thanked him with a bright smile and then left, deciding she would focus on becoming stronger.

The day they heard about the school festival,(First Name) was one of the many to vote for the performance, wanting to see what her classmates could pull together. When she heard Class 1-B was doing a play and that Neito would be kissing Yui in it,she clenched her jaw and strengthened her resolve, realizing she couldn’t stand the idea of Neito kissing someone.

“Jiro, can I ask you a favor..?” (First Name) nervously asked when she saw the girl later that night.

“Huh? I mean,sure.. What’s up?” Kyoka asked, surprised (First Name) was talking to her; from what she’d seen, the girl rarely spoke to anyone besides Mezo and Fumikage.

“After the class performs, can I perform a song on my own? I don’t need any special effects or anything, but I.. I want people to hear my words..” (First Name) asked, her face burning as she stood there. She wanted to overcome her stage-fright.

“You play the violin, right? I think it’d be great for people to hear you play, but the decision isn’t up to me,so how about asking everyone tomorrow?” Kyoka asked, rubbing the back of her neck with a slight blush. She wanted to hear what (First Name)’s playing sounded like.

“Will.. Um,will you help me ask them? I’m not that good at talking to people,’cause I tend to panic a little..” (First Name) asked, fiddling with her fingers nervously.

“Sure, but we should both probably head to bed now.” Kyoka said, glad (First Name) had approached her about it.

“Thank you..” (First Name) said, heading back to her room with a slight smile.

(First Name) spent the rest of that night touching her violin case, not quite ready to open it yet.

After her request to perform alone after the class finished performing was approved,(First Name) was still too nervous to open the case. Seeking support from Fumikage and Mezo, she told them both the story of what had happened to her the last time she’d tried to perform, shock filling her when both boys told her it was okay if she cried while playing.

(First Name) then spent the weeks leading up to the festival practicing in her room, too nervous to play in front of her classmates for now. On the day of the sports festival, after the rest of her class had performed,(First Name) nervously walked onto the stage while gripping her violin.

“No way..” Neito muttered from the crowd when he saw the girl stand at the microphone. The (First Name) he knew would never be able to perform in front of a crowd like this.

“I.. I’m,uh..” (First Name) struggled to say,her anxieties eating away at her. She looked to the side to see Fumikage and Mezo giving her thumbs up,the girl clearing her throat and taking a deep breath. “Please enjoy this song..”

Taking one last deep breath as the crowd fell almost silent,(First Name) positioned her violin and then began to play. “There’s some things I should’ve said.. I was too afraid.. It was just so hard to let you know, now it’s all too late..” She sang, gripping the bow tighter as she opened her already tear-filled eyes and looked at the crowd. She saw Neito immediately, deciding to focus on him; he was the one she was singing for, after all.

“This song is..” Neito muttered to himself, clenching his fists when he remembered hearing her sing part of it before.

“What we had was beautiful,I didn’t want to wreck it all, everyday I think about the truth..” (First Name) sang, gripping the bow. “I wish I was,I wish I was, brave enough to love you. Brave enough to love you.. I wish I was,I wish I was, brave enough to love you.. Brave enough, brave enough, brave enough to love you..” She continued, gripping the bow as she fell silent and began to play the instrumental.

Neito watched from the crowd, gripping his fists as he thought of the day he’d last seen (First Name) play the violin.

“Neito,Neito, you’re gonna play the piano at the competition this week, right?” Sixth-grade (First Name) asked her best-friend excitedly on their way home together.

“We always perform together, don’t we?” Neito asked as he walked beside her, laughing a little when he saw how excited she seemed.

“It’s not scary when we do it together!” (First Name) said, grinning as she spun around in front of him childishly. “Let’s practice together tonight, alright?”

“Yeah,yeah..” Neito said, waving her off as he continued walking. “Why are you so obsessed with playing the violin, anyways?”

“Because it’s fun!” (First Name) said, running ahead a few steps and then turning to look at him. “You like playing the piano with me,right?”

“Of course I do,you idiot.” Neito said,laughing a little.

That weekend, though,Neito had shown up late to the competition and had watched with wide eyes as his friend was booed off the stage and then shouted at by her parents for ‘being a failure’.

“You stripped away the walls I built.. Like no one ever has.. The hardest part’s we’ll never know.. If we were meant to last.. What we had was beautiful,I didn’t wanna wreck it all, every day I think about the truth..” (First Name) sang, her tears no longer falling and her voice coming out as smooth as silk. “I wish I was,I wish I was, brave enough to love you, brave enough to love you.. I wish I was,I wish I was, brave enough to love you. Brave enough, brave enough, brave enough to love you..”

As she started the second instrumental,(First Name) thought of the fight she and Neito had after she’d confronted him for being angry at her for being in Class 1-A.

“Neito, please, just tell me what you want me to do.. I can’t change my class,so why are you mad?” (First Name) pleaded as she grabbed her friend’s arm.

“I’m not mad at you,so just let go.” Neito said, jerking his arm out of her grip.

“You’ve been avoiding me since we found out we’re in different classes! How are you not avoiding me?!” (First Name) asked, sighing as she tried to calm herself down. “Just tell me what will make you stop hating me..”

“You’re just an idiot! Just leave me alone already, geez! I can’t stand you!” Neito shouted, glaring at her as he pushed her out of his house. “You’re so useless on your own! You’re always asking me to tell you what to do,so why don’t you listen to me this time and fuck off?!”

“Brave enough to love you.. Brave enough to love you..” (First Name) began once again, knowing there was nobody there to play the piano as she performed; there hadn’t been anyone there for years,so it was time she let go of her one-sided love for him. “I wish I was.. I wish I was, brave enough to love you.. Brave enough, brave enough, brave enough to love you..”

Neito clenched his fists as he stared at her, looking over when Tetsutetsu told him it was time they went to their own performance while the crowd erupted into cheers. Following the boy out,he took one last glance at (First Name) and then left with a sigh.

(First Name) watched as Neito left, lowering her violin and looking at the cheering crowd with a soft smile. “Thank you for listening,” She said, heading backstage and looking at her friends. “How did I do?”

“You did great,(First Name).” Mezo told her, patting her head.

“Dark Shadow and I agree.” Fumikage told her, happy she had managed to perform.

“(First Name),did you say what you needed to?” Kyoka asked, still amazed at how beautiful she was when she played the violin.

“Yeah.. Thanks,everyone..” (First Name) told her classmates, bowing and then raising her head with a bright smile. “I like the violin again.”

I wish I was

I wish I was

(First Name),we need to talk. -Neito

(First Name),you can’t just ignore me. -Neito

(First Name),seriously,answer my texts. -Neito

Looking down at her phone,(First Name) just pressed her finger down on the button calmly and shut it off, heading downstairs after tying her hair back. Washing her hands, she set to work on cooking everyone breakfast, happy she was the first one awake.

“Hey,(Last Name),what’re you doing up so early?” Mina asked as she walked down; she’d woken up early since she’d left her window open.

“Cooking breakfast for everyone. Take a seat.” (First Name) said, continuing to make her way around the kitchen as she cooked.

“Are you okay now?” Mina asked as she took her seat. While she didn’t know all of the details about why (First Name) had sung during the school festival, she could definitely tell that she seemed happier now.

“I can finally let go of Neito..” (First Name) said, looking back at her and grinning. “And I managed to perform on my own.. When I was younger, playing always felt nice, but competing and winning never felt like I actually earned it.. I just feel like I’ve finally accomplished something outside of training, you know?”

“I’m glad. You definitely look more relaxed now.” Mina said, happy to see her classmate so happy.

Time passed, and on the day the Pussycats came to visit,(First Name) spent her time playing her violin on her balcony, not crying at all this time.

The day of the joint training class arrived, and Power Loader had finally perfected her new hero costume. After picking it up and thanking him,she went to the changing room with her female classmates, eager to put on her new costume.

“(First Name),you changed your costume, right? How come?” Mina asked, looking over at her curiously.

“My old costume was designed to be similar to Neito’s costume, but I don’t need a costume like that anymore,” (First Name) said, slipping her shirt and pants off before opening the case to reveal her new costume. Grabbing the red-and-orange top,she slipped it on,liking how it fit. After sliding the matching pants and orange utility belt on,she looked at her friends, and grinned. “I wasn’t going to change much of it,but while I was interning with Hawks,he told me that saving people will be difficult for me when I’m in my bird form,so I changed my suit completely in order to maximize what I can do in my human form. Since I’ll mainly be relying on my strength while I’m in my human form,I decided I didn’t need to try and focus on looking ‘cute’ anymore.” She explained, putting the cape on.

“But you’re still really pretty, even in your new hero costume! But what’s with the cape and pouch?” Ochaco told her, tilting her head to the side as she kept getting dressed.

“The utility belt is full of stuff I’ll need in an emergency, and the cape is for when I get hurt and need to keep the smoke hidden from people. My whole outfit was designed to try and limit the smoke,of course, but there’s only so much Mr.Power Loader could do. Oh,and my boots are flat now!” (First Name) told them, smiling brightly. “I never liked wearing heeled shoes anyways.”

“You look way happier now.” Momo pointed out as she finished getting dressed, glad (First Name) had opened up to them since the school festival.

“Thanks!” (First Name) told her, before heading out to meet up with the rest of their class.

Upon Class 1-B’s arrival to the joint class,Neito immediately noticed (First Name)’s changed costume, the blond gritting his teeth before taunting them about how Class 1-A had lost the vote to Class 1-B.

(First Name) bit back a retort as she listened to his words, though she did notice how Eijiro clenched and unclenched his fists.

When the matches began,(First Name) watched them in silence and waited for her turn eagerly, glad she had been placed against Neito. Walking into their area once it was their turn,(First Name) looked at her teammates. “What’s the plan,Deku?”

“You should run aerial surveillance.” Izuku told her, watching her take flight before turning his attention to the rest of his team and giving them instructions.

The exercise was going rather roughly, and (First Name) finally came out from the clouds when she saw Izuku’s Black Whip attacking everything around him. She landed on the other edge of the building quickly, worried about her teammate. “Deku, what’s going on?”

“I can’t.. Control it..! Dodge..!” Izuku managed to shout, trying to stop the attack from hitting anyone.

(First Name) didn’t move an inch until she saw Neito get knocked off the building by the black tendrils, her body moving on its own. She bolted forward as fast as she could, knowing she couldn’t save him if she turned into her bird form, and launched herself off the building so she could try and save the blond. She grabbed his arm and jerked him towards herself while they were in the air, planning on using her own body to cushion the fall, when she suddenly felt a searing pain in her back. Scarlet wings had sprouted from her back, ripping their way through her new costume as if it was nothing. She didn’t realize they were there until their fall to the ground suddenly slowed since she had spread them on instinct. Once she was sure they were close enough to the ground, she dropped Neito, crashing through the window of a building only moments later. She sat up quickly and bit back the scream that wanted to rip its way through her when she felt how badly the wings hurt.

“(First Name),are you alright?!” Fumikage shouted as he arrived in the building. By Aizawa’s orders,(First Name) had been disqualified from the match while the rest of her teammates were still participating. Seeing how her back was smoking,he hesitated to approach, knowing she’d probably end up lashing out if he did.

“It hurts,Fumikage..” (First Name) whimpered out, choking back sobs. “It hurts..”

“You’re alright,(First Name). You just need to take a few deep breaths, okay?” Fumikage tried his best to comfort her,not quite sure what the right thing to say was. “Focus on me,alright? Mezo’s on his way as well.”

“Is.. Is everyone.. Is everyone alright?” (First Name) choked out, gasping from how badly it hurt. Once Fumikage told her everyone was fine, she lost consciousness.

(First Name) woke up later on in the day, relief filling her when she realized the wings didn’t hurt anymore. She tried to stretch one out, sighing when they both stretched at once; she’d need to get used to these new additions. Crawling out of bed,she washed her face and then walked downstairs, her eyes widening when she saw Class 1-B socializing with her own classmates.

“Do you feel better now?” Mezo asked her when he noticed her, worried she could still be in pain.

“Yeah, but I don’t really know how to control these things..” (First Name) said, looking at her new wings awkwardly.

“You should consider contacting Hawks about them.” Fumikage pointed out, relieved she was fine now.

“(First Name),are you alright? That had to be scary earlier..” Ochaco asked worriedly, running over to her.

“You had an Awakening, right?” Momo asked her, wondering if Neito being in danger had been enough to trigger an Awakening.

“I’m fine, you guys.. I’m pretty sure it was an Awakening, but I need to talk to Mr.Aizawa. Where’s he at?” (First Name) told them, looking around.

“He’s off in the side room.” Ochaco told her, glad that she was okay.

“Thanks!” (First Name) said, heading off to ask her teacher about it. Opening the door, her eyes widened when she came face-to-face with Neito, looking up at the blond with wide eyes. She lost all of her nerve immediately and turned around, bolting up the stairs and to her room.

“(First Name),you idiot, talk to me!” Neito shouted as he tried to chase her, hitting the ground after Eijiro tripped him. He sat up and glared at the red-headed boy, before pushing himself off the ground and brushing himself off. He wanted to go up the stairs to confront her,but when he saw Mezo and Fumikage blocking them with Dark Shadow glaring,he chose to just wait until he saw her alone next. Letting out a ‘tch’,the blond stomped away angrily.

(First Name) sat in her room after shutting and locking the door, trying hard to calm herself down. Looking around the room, her eyes locked on her phone, the girl grabbing it quickly. She pulled up her mentor’s number and sent him a text, telling him about what had happened. After waiting for a while, she felt her phone buzz, looking down at it. Seeing that her mentor had congratulated her and told her to just focus on trying to control them, she started to ask him all sorts of questions about what life was like, reading his answers quickly.

After nearly an hour of asking him questions and getting simple answers,(First Name) promised him that she’d master her new wings by the time she sees him next.

Brave enough to love you

Brave enough to love you

Christmas rolled around, and (First Name) was happy to celebrate with her classmates. Since her parents never really celebrated, she had only ever spent Christmas studying or hanging out with Neito,so she’d gotten a little more eager than she probably should have and had made all of them presents. She wouldn’t speak of it,but she had left Neito a present as well, even though she was still avoiding him.

“(First Name),how come you have so many little presents?” Izuku asked when he saw the girl with the stack of boxes.

(First Name) set the presents down in the common room and looked over at Izuku, holding one of them out and grinning. “Don’t open it until the others get down here, okay?”

“Alright..?” Izuku said awkwardly, sitting down as the others soon flooded into the common room.

After Eri’s arrival and overall adorableness,(First Name) handed everyone the presents and told them all to open it,grinning when she saw how confused they looked at the sight of the glass necklaces. “I know it might seem weird, but there’s a part of my Quirk I haven’t told any of you guys.. When I cry,my tears can heal any non-fatal wounds.. Since I want everyone to stay safe,I decided that it’d be a good present..”

“You’ve been collecting your tears to make presents for all of us?” Momo asked, staring at the necklace curiously.

“It’s weird, right?” (First Name) asked nervously, thinking they all hated it. “I just wanted to make sure you guys would be able to have access to a quick heal in case you ever needed it,but if you don’t want them,I can get you all something else..”

“No way! These are super cool, and you made them while thinking of us!” Eijiro told her, grinning at her. “I’ll definitely save it for the next big fight I have!”

“Yeah, these are actually really nice!” Ochaco said, smiling brightly at her.

“We’ll definitely use them when we’re in a pinch.” Tenya said, pushing his glasses up and grinning.

“I like it..” Eri said softly as she looked at it,her eyes sparkling. “It’s pretty..”

Seeing how much everyone liked their presents,(First Name) couldn’t help but grin. For once, she was able to experience Christmas with a bunch of people instead of just one person.

When the hero work studies rolled around soon after the holidays,(First Name) returned to her mentor’s agency with Fumikage. Sad to find her mentor wasn’t there, she still chose to practice on getting the hang of her new wings, slowly getting used to the feeling of having them.

Upon returning to U.A. after doing the hero work studies with the sidekicks at her mentor’s agency,(First Name) was able to take out the villain bots easily enough.

I wish I was

I wish I was

March came quickly, and (First Name) managed to avoid Neito easily enough. She stayed with her classmates as the pros went to try and take out Tomura Shigaraki, relieved when her classmates that had gone to the front lines returned safely.

When she felt the ground shake, she took to the skies for a second to see what was coming, her eyes widening when she saw Gigantomachia running towards them. She landed quickly as she listened to Midnight give them the news that it was up to them to stop the beast, the girl gritting her teeth as she looked at the fearful faces her classmates wore. “I’ll do it.”

“What are you talking about,(First Name)?” Momo asked, making as much of the sedative as she could with her Quirk.

“Hide in the trees. I’ll take the big guy on and force him to take the sedative, but you guys have to do the rest..” (First Name) ordered, feeling the ground shake harder as the monster got closer. She didn’t have Neito there to guard her back, and she didn’t need him there this time.

“There’s no way we’re just gonna hide!” Eijiro shouted, clenching his fists. “We do this as a class!”

“You won’t just be hiding! He’s carrying the League on his back! They’ll still try to reach Shigaraki, even if the big guy is down, and our job is to stop that! Trust me to lighten the load!” (First Name) snapped at him, turning to look at her classmates. “I regenerate quickly, and I have an ace up my sleeve. Don’t doubt me.”

“Don’t get yourself killed out there,(First Name)..” Mina said, looking at her seriously.

“Once you give him the sedative,we’ll stop the League no matter what.” Denki promised, not wanting to send the girl out on her own.

(First Name) smiled at her friends and turned into her bird form, cloaking every part of herself in flames besides her talons and her beak. Grabbing some of the sedative in both her beak and her talons, she took flight, locking her sights on the giant monster. She dove down quickly, wanting to protect the people important to her; there was no way she was backing down until the monster was asleep. Charging straight at Gigantomachia’s mouth, she tried to throw the medicine into it from her beak, barely missing. She shot back into the air and then dove back down for round two, seeing the blue flames Dabi sprayed out at her but going in regardless. Once she was close enough to Gigantomachia’s open mouth, she threw the sedative in,feeling Dabi’s flames as they tried to eat away at her wings. Realizing the sedative wasn’t kicking in fast enough to stop the monster from reaching her friends,(First Name) made the flames on her own wings hotter, deciding she couldn’t afford to play it safe any longer. Diving down, she twirled around Gigantomachia’s arms, her flames eating away at his skin enough to make him scream and try to bat at her. She dodged a few of his swipes, but she got distracted when she saw Fumikage carrying someone in the distance, the girl getting batted to the ground. She was knocked out instantly, her body landing among the rubble and knocked over trees.

The group readied themselves to fight the monster, but they were amazed when he slowed down and collapsed right before he could make it to the forest.

“We can’t let what (First Name) did go to waste,so let’s go!” Momo shouted when she saw the League approaching.

“Right!” The other students shouted, all of them prepared to fight even if it killed them.

(First Name) woke up a week later in the hospital, the winged girl opening her eyes slowly. She blinked a few times as her vision tried to adjust, before the memories flooded back to her. She sat up quickly and looked around in a panic, her eyes widening when she saw Hawks,Fumikage, and Mezo there.

“Welcome back,(First Name).” Mezo said, glad to see her awake.

“I.. Wh.. What happened to the others?” (First Name) choked out, looking at them anxiously.

“Everyone is fine,(Last Name). Your classmates are all alive and safe, and Tomura Shigaraki was captured,” Hawks told her, patting her head and smiling. “You’ve got healing tears, right? They saved me.”

“Every.. Everyone’s safe?” (First Name) asked softly, sniffling as she tried not to cry tears of relief when she saw them nod. “Where.. Where are they?”

“You’re the last one to wake up,so the others have already returned to their homes for now. U.A. is giving all of the students time off to recuperate mentally.” Mezo explained, stretching out a little.

“The others wanted to wait for you to awaken, but Mr.Aizawa wouldn’t allow it,” Fumikage added, before clearing his throat. “Dark Shadow wants to see you,so may it?”

“Of course..” (First Name) said, smiling a little when she saw it. “Hey,Darky.”

“I was worried about you..” Dark Shadow said, hugging the girl tightly and huffing. “Don’t go doing risky things anymore!”

“I’m sorry,I’m sorry..” (First Name) said, rubbing Dark Shadow’s head and giggling. “Thanks for being here when I woke up,though..”

“That’s what friends are for!” Dark Shadow told her, nudging her cheek happily. “You’re one of my favorite people!”

Brave enough to love you

Brave enough, brave enough

(First Name) was released from the hospital the next day after the doctors gave her permission to finally return home, the girl walking to the train station with her mentor and her friends.

“This is where I take my leave,unfortunately..” Hawks said once they made it to the train station, chuckling a little when he saw how disappointed his student looked. “(Last Name),I wanted to let you know that I’m a fan of yours now. You saved the people important to you,and as a mentor,I couldn’t be any prouder.”

“I..” (First Name) looked up at Hawks for a second, trying to decide what she wanted to say. “I’m really happy I interned with you,sir.. Your words helped give me the courage I needed to move.. Thank you for taking in a child like me.”

“You’re already becoming a great hero,so don’t hold back, alright?” Hawks asked, smiling when she nodded. He waved as he watched the trio get on the train, genuinely happy he had chosen to take her under his wing.

(First Name) talked to Mezo and Fumikage happily as they rode the train together, but after arriving at the train station closest to her house, she had to separate from them. She waved at them happily before starting her walk home alone, feeling a bit lonely since her parents hadn’t come to pick her up. Shaking the thought away, she continued to walk.

Walking up to the front door, she knocked a few times,a little annoyed that she didn’t have her keys to let herself in. Her eyes widened when her mother flung the door open and hugged her,the girl just standing there in shock. “Mom..?”

“You.. You’re.. You’re finally home!” Her mother wailed, gripping onto her daughter tightly. “I heard from your teachers that you were almost killed, and I was gonna go to the hospital you were at to see you,but then I thought you’d get angry, and I just..”

“Welcome home,(First Name).” Her father said from behind her mother, smiling at his daughter for the first time in years.

“I… I’m home.” (First Name) said, starting to cry as she sunk into her mother’s hug. She finally had her family back, and she felt like she could finally relax.

“You must be tired, right?” Her mother asked as she sniffled and stepped back. “You should go get some sleep..”

“I’ll make breakfast tomorrow,so don’t worry about waking up and sleep in for as long as you’d like.” Her father added, happy his daughter was finally home.

“Thank you..” (First Name) said, heading up to her room. She looked around when she realized the stuff she’d taken for her dorm at U.A. had been returned, looking around the room with a slight smile. She opened her window after grabbing her violin, sitting in her window seat and beginning to play happily. She shut her eyes as she played a happy song,a gentle smile on her face.

Neito heard the music when it drifted into his own open window, the boy staying at his desk as he listened. He had always thought (First Name)’s playing was pretty, but it sounded absolutely beautiful now. He looked over at his piano, hesitantly walking over to it and taking a seat; he hadn’t played since (First Name) had stopped playing. His fingers brushed the keys lightly, before the boy gently pressed one. Looking over through his open window,he saw (First Name) still playing.

Swallowing his fears,he sat down and began to play his own version of the song (First Name) sang during the school festival. “There’s some things I shouldn’t have said.. I was too afraid.. It was just so hard to let you know,I thought it was way too late.. What we had was beautiful,I thought that they would wreck it all.. Every day I think about the truth..”

(First Name) stopped when she heard Neito singing and playing, putting her violin to the side and listening closely.

“I wish I was,I wish I was, good enough to love you, good enough to love you..” Neito sang, continuing to play. He knew this wasn’t a good enough apology, but he needed her to listen. “I wish I was,I wish I was, good enough to love you.. Good enough, good enough, good enough to love you..”

(First Name) looked over at Neito’s window, her eyes widening as she listened to him. She had been avoiding him for months now, locking her feelings up and pretending she didn’t care, but she did.

“They stripped away the walls you built, like I had never done.. The hardest’s part’s I never knew,my dark blocked out your sun..” Neito continued to sing, taking a deep breath. “What we had was beautiful, but then I went and wrecked it all, every day I think about the truth.. I wish I was,I wish I was, good enough to love you, good enough to love you.. I wish I was,I wish I was, good enough to love you, good enough, good enough, good enough to love you..”

(First Name) clenched her fists, her eyes filling with tears. She could hear the regret in his voice, but she knew she needed to let him finish.

“Good enough to love you, good enough to love you.. I wish I was,I wish I was, good enough to love you.. Good enough, good enough, good enough to love you..” Neito finally finished, the blond wiping his tears and taking a shaky breath. He knew (First Name) had listened, and he hoped she understood he regretted it.

(First Name) looked down at her violin, wiping her own tears away. Picking the instrument up once again, she stood up and climbed out of her window. She stepped onto the little part of the roof right outside her window and took a deep breath. “Neito! The song from that day! Let’s play it!” She shouted.

“The song..?” Neito muttered to himself, his eyes widening when he heard her play the first note of the song they were supposed to perform all those years ago. He immediately began playing, glad he still remembered the keys.

“You had your maps drawn, you had other plans to hang your hopes on. Every road they led you down felt so wrong,so you found another way.” (First Name) sang, smiling as she played her violin.

“You’ve got a big heart, the way you see the world,it got you this far. You might have some bruises, and a few scars, but you know you’re gonna be okay,” Neito sang, feeling like his heart was racing. “Even though you’re scared, you’re stronger than you know..”

“If you’re lost out where the lights are blinding, caught in all the stars are hiding, that’s when something wild calls you home, home,” (First Name) sang, gripping her bow as she remembered practicing the song with him for hours when they were younger. “If you face the fear that keeps you frozen, chase the sky into the ocean, that’s when something wild calls you home,home..”

“Sometimes the past can make the ground beneath your feet feel like quicksand, you don’t have to worry, reach for my hand, yeah I know you’re gonna be okay, you’re gonna be okay,” Neito sang as he kept playing, his fingers dancing on the keys expertly. “And even if you’re scared, you’re stronger than you know.”

“If you’re lost out where the lights are blinding, caught in all the stars are hiding, that’s when something wild calls you home, home. If you face the fear that keeps you frozen, chase the sky into the ocean, that’s when something wild calls you home,home..” (First Name) sang, gripping her bow and smiling.

“Calls you home.. Calls you home.. Calls you home.. Calls you home..” Neito sang, unable to stop himself from grinning.

“If you’re lost out where the lights are blinding, caught in all the stars are hiding, that’s when something wild calls you home.” (First Name) sang, flying over and landing outside of Neito’s window as she kept playing.

“If you’re lost out where the lights are blinding, caught in all the stars are hiding, that’s when something wild calls you home, home. If you face the fear that keeps you frozen, chase the sky into the ocean, that’s when something wild calls you home, home,” Neito finally finished, before realizing he could barely see any light from his window. He turned to look, his eyes widening when he saw (First Name) climbing into his window. “What are you doing?”

“What do you think I’m doing, you moron?” (First Name) asked once she was in his room, brushing herself off.

“Why didn’t you just use the front door?” Neito asked, shaking his head in amusement.

“My parents think I’m resting,” (First Name) said, setting her violin to the side. “I was going to ask if you wanted to play more music together, but I have a better idea now..”

Neito felt his heart sink at that; as intelligent as (First Name) was,her ‘better ideas’ typically ended in him almost passing out. “What is it?”

“Wanna go flying?” (First Name) asked, grinning at him. “I wanna stretch my wings out for a while.”

“Are you serious? That’s illegal.” Neito sighed, knowing she was completely serious.

“It’s not illegal if we don’t get caught,” (First Name) said, climbing back out the window and holding her hand out. “I wanna show you the sky.”

Neito stared at her for a minute, his gaze trailing down to her hand. He hesitantly reached out and took it,his eyes widening when she pulled him out onto the roof. “You’d better not let me die..”

“Just trust me.” (First Name) said, turning into her bird form and looking at him expectantly.

Neito hesitantly climbed onto her back, wrapping his arms around her neck. His eyes widened when she took off into the sky, gripping onto her tighter. “(First Name),slow down! You idiot, you’d better slow down!”

(First Name) waited until they were above the clouds before she slowed down, easily able to carry Neito on her back. She flapped her wings as she looked down at the buildings below, hoping Neito thought it was as beautiful as she did.

“You.. You see this whenever you fly now?” Neito asked softly as he looked down at everything. “You used to barely go higher than a building when you flew.. No wonder you’ve been so happy..”

(First Name) kept flying for a while, though she eventually landed on his roof and turned into her human form again. “It’s awesome, right?”

“Of course it’s awesome..” Neito muttered,laughing a little. “Listen,what I sang about,it w-”

“Neito,I’m still in love with you,” (First Name) interrupted, smiling a little. “But I won’t date you unless you apologize to everyone in Class 1-A for being a jerk this year.”

“Even that Bakugo dude?” Neito asked, dreading the idea of apologizing to the blond. “And the one with the red hair?”

“All of them. I don’t want any of them to hate you over something you just need to apologize over.” (First Name) said, giggling a little when she saw how distressed he looked.

“I’ll only apologize to them because I love you.. But after I apologize to them,we’re going on a good date, alright?” Neito told her, huffing a little. “And then I’m gonna introduce you to my friends.”

(First Name) pretended to think about it for a second, before she grinned at him. “Of course!”

Brave enough to love you

Summer break rolled around, and (First Name) giggled a bit when she was given the news that her entire class was meeting up at a festival. She promised she’d show up,deciding Neito could apologize that night. “Neito! You’re coming to the festival with me tonight!” She called out through her window.

“Alright! Just come get me when you’re ready to go!” Neito called back through his own window before returning to his book.

(First Name) just grinned at his reply, eager to see how her classmates would react to the blond’s apology. She changed into a casual outfit and then headed over to his house to bug him happily.

Night came quickly, and (First Name) was eager to drag Neito to the festival. After nearly an hour of walking, they made it there, the girl calling out and waving happily when she saw Mina. “Hey,Mina! You look pretty in your kimono!”

“Oh,(First Name)! Wha-..” Mina greeted as she turned around, freezing when she saw Neito. “Why is he here?”

(First Name) just grinned and launched herself at Mina childishly. “Oh come on,Mina! Don’t be such a stick-in-the-mud!”

“Bakugo and Kirishima aren’t gonna be happy..” Mina told her, sighing a little. “Come on,the others are all at a table. I was waiting here for you.”

(First Name) followed Mina to the giant table, greeting her classmates happily. They all seemed happy to see her,but when they noticed Neito, they all glared at the blond. Seeing how angry her classmates seemed,(First Name) put her arm out in front of Neito and laughed a little. “You guys should just hear him out, okay?”

“Why should we hear him out?” Eijiro asked, glaring at the blond boy angrily.

“I don’t have to listen to a bastard like that!” Katsuki snarled, just as pissed as Eijiro.

“Pretty please with sprinkles and cherries and whipped cream and all your favorite candies?” (First Name) asked, flapping her wings cutely; she’d learned rather quickly after her Awakening that both Eijiro and Katsuki enjoyed watching her wings.

Eijiro stared at her for a second, before sighing and nodding. “Fine..”

“Yeah, whatever.” Katsuki growled out, looking away with a huff.

“Neito, tell them why you were a dick.” (First Name) said, looking at him calmly.

“Well,I..” Neito sighed a little, before remembering what he and (First Name) had sung about. “I’m sorry. Truly sorry.. I was an asshole because I felt like (First Name) was ripped away from me,and I took every opportunity I could to try and get ‘revenge’ on you guys for it,and that was wrong.. There’s nothing I can say that can truly make up for what I did,but I hope you all are willing to accept my apology.”

The class went silent for a minute, everyone exchanging glances. Out of everyone there,Momo was the one to break the silence. “Thank you for apologizing, but I don’t think we’re all willing to accept your apology until you show you’ve actually changed.”

“That’s completely understandable,I just wanted to let you all know that I’m truly sorry. Half of what I said was purely because I was attempting to cheer myself or my classmates up,but that’s not an excuse.” Neito said, relaxing a little now that he’d gotten it off his chest.

Dark Shadow rose above the class and moved towards the blond, looming above him menacingly. “If you hurt (First Name),I’ll kill you.”

Neito stared up at the creature in shock, unable to hide his fear. “I wouldn’t dream of it.”

“Good. (First Name)’s one of my favorite people.” Dark Shadow said, nudging the girl’s cheek affectionately.

“Thanks for listening, you guys!” (First Name) said, smiling brightly as she pet Dark Shadow. “I’m gonna head to the bathroom real quick, but I’ll be back in a minute,’kay?”

“Go ahead,we’ll wait for you,” Mina said, smiling brightly as (First Name) walked away. Once she was out of sight, the girl turned her attention to Neito. “I’m with Dark Shadow on this one. Hurt (First Name),and I’ll cover you in acid.”

“I’ll blow you up if she ever cries over a dumbass like you again.” Katsuki growled out, glaring at Neito coldly.

“And I’ll punch you as hard as I can. You’d better become manlier.” Eijiro added, giving an eerily bright smile.

“I think I speak for the rest of my classmates as well when I say we will all hurt you if you ever hurt (First Name) again.” Tenya said, pushing his glasses up and looking at the blond.

Neito felt ready to pass out,the blond nodding a little. “Yeah,okay.. I’ll keep that in mind..”

“Good boy,” Momo praised, smiling brightly when (First Name) returned. “(First Name),let’s go play a few games!”

“Definitely!” (First Name) said, giggling a bit as she walked over to her friends happily.

Brave enough to love you

Brave enough to love you

(First Name) was eager to return to U.A. when summer ended, happy to move back into the dorms on the first day. After unpacking, she ran downstairs and launched herself on Tenya so she could hug him from behind. “Guys,we’re gonna do the Room King Contest, right?!”

Tenya stood there calmly, already used to (First Name)’s antics. He had become one of her favorite targets to tease recently, but he didn’t much care. “(First Name),please remember not to run down the stairs.”

“We’ve definitely gotta do the contest this year! I bet Sato will win again!” Mina said, her eyes sparkling.

“I’m definitely winning this year! I changed my room completely!” Eijiro told them, standing up and grinning.

“No way! I’m winning this year!” (First Name) said, grinning at them. “Let’s get started!”

Going through the rooms, most of their classmates had only changed their rooms a little; (First Name)’s room was a little bit different. In the corner of the room was a little lab,her bookshelf still full of college textbooks and her walls covered in pictures of her and her classmates. She had a few stuffed animals on her bed,but the biggest difference was the fact that her violin was sitting on her bed already.

“You should play a song for us!” Mina said, grinning at her.

“You guys sure you wanna hear it?” (First Name) asked, grinning at them when they all agreed. “We’ll have to go meet up with Neito, then.”

“How come?” Eijiro asked, raising an eyebrow.

“Because we’re meant to play together,” (First Name) said, picking up her violin. “While I like playing alone now,I love playing with him more.”

“Then we can go to Class 2-B’s dorms after the contest is finished.” Momoo said, grinning as they continued the contest.

After Rikido won the contest once again because of his baking skills,Class 2-A made their way to Class 2-B’s building, eager to meet up with their friends in the class.

“Neito,we’ve gotta play!” (First Name) told the boy energetically. “Everyone wants to hear it!”

“What song?” Neito asked, raising an eyebrow. “I doubt you wanna play the same songs we’ve been playing.”

“The new one,” (First Name) said, gripping her violin. “We’ve been practicing for a while now,so you should be ready, right?”

“Of course, but we’ve gotta head up to my room since that’s where my piano is,” Neito said, looking at his classmates. “You guys coming?”

“Wait, you seriously know how to play the piano? We all thought you were lying about that..” Hiryu asked, amazed that Neito was actually able to play the piano.

“Don’t doubt Neito!” (First Name) huffed, before nudging her boyfriend. “Lead the way.”

“Alright,alright..” Neito chuckled, leading the way to his room. Propping his door open with a chair, the boy took his seat at the piano as Class 2-A and Class 2-B crowded the hallway to listen. “Start us off,(First Name).”

“Obviously..” (First Name) said, starting to play the song with Neito joining a second later. Shutting her eyes, the girl played the song happily,a soft smile on her face as she listened to Neito’s playing.

“No way..” Setsuna muttered, absolutely shocked that Neito could really play.

“That’s not our Monoma, right?” Itsuka asked as she stood there, her eyes wide.

“He’s never once been your Monoma. That blond idiot has always been (First Name)’s Neito.” Katsuki growled out as he listened to the song.

Drawing the song to a close,(First Name) and Neito looked at each-other and grinned as they stopped playing,(First Name) looking at the other students with a smirk. “So how’d he do?”

“There’s no way that’s Monoma! The Monoma we know is.. He’s smart in his own way,and he’s kind to us,but he’s not a pianist!” Nirengeki said, staring at Neito in shock.

“He and I grew up playing together,so of course he’s a pianist,” (First Name) said, glad their performance had shocked them. “So don’t doubt his abilities again, got it?”

I wish I was

I wish I was

Their third year at U.A. came in what felt like a flash. After she and Neito had officially begun dating during the summer of their first year,Class 2-A and 2-B became close friends, leading to the strongest bond between third-years at U.A. in years.

“Hi,I’m (First Name) (Last Name). I’m technically part of U.A.’s ‘Big Five’,hence why I was called here. It’s nice to meet you all!” (First Name) told the bright-eyed first-years sitting in front of her.

“You’re the girl who works with Hawks, right?!” One of the students asked, absolutely amazed. “You’re the super fast flyer!”

“That’d be me,” (First Name) said, giggling a little. “Since we were called here to tell you guys about our experiences at our hero work studies,I’d like to start by telling you all that it doesn’t matter what your Quirk is as long as you have the drive to save people. I’d also like to tell you all that it’s fine to be afraid, because facing your fears is difficult, but that once you face them, your life will change for the better.” She added, before stepping back into the line so the others could speak.

Later that afternoon,on her way back to the dorms, she was stopped by one of the first-year girls she had noticed.

“Ms.(Last Name)? Can.. Can I.. Can I ask.. Can I ask you a question?” The girl nervously asked.

“Sure, what is it? Everything okay?” (First Name) asked, smiling a little. “And you can just call me (First Name),I don’t really care about formalities.”

“You.. Um,you were the one.. One who froze two years ago, right?” The girl squeaked out, looking up at her nervously.

“You’re talking about at the sports festival, right?” (First Name) asked, giggling when the girl nodded. “Yeah, that was me. I couldn’t face my fears, and I performed horribly because of it. You were the one who passed out during the first test, right?”

“You.. You saw that?” The girl asked, her face going bright red when (First Name) nodded. “I.. I.. How’d you get over it?”

“I didn’t,really.. I’m still scared of getting in front of people, and of putting myself out there, but there are people here who will support you. If you’re scared of messing up,you’ll find it hard to improve..” (First Name) admitted, thinking for a second. “Do you wanna see something?” She asked.

“Huh? I.. Sure.” The girl said nervously, fiddling with her fingers anxiously. Her eyes widened when (First Name) disappeared in a burst of flames, looking around wildly.

(First Name) appeared moments later with her violin, giggling a little when she saw how shocked the girl looked. “Sorry,it’s just part of my Quirk.. Anyways, you know what this is,right?”

“A violin..” The girl muttered,a little confused on where (First Name) was going with this.

“When I first started playing,I was just a little kid. I was terrified of making mistakes because my parents were perfectionists,so when I made a giant mistake by being too afraid to properly perform during a competition back in middle-school,I became too afraid to play it,” (First Name) said, smiling at her as she raised the violin. “But,I faced that fear, and now I can play it again. I can perform in front of people with the knowledge that people make mistakes every single day,and that mistakes are perfectly fine to make.” She added, before playing a few notes calmly.

The girl stared at (First Name) in silence, before looking down. “But how.. How do you convince yourself it’s fine?”

“You start small, and then you work yourself up,” (First Name) said, lowering the violin and smiling brightly. “It won’t happen overnight, but you even approaching me shows that you’re brave enough to face your fears. Everyone is afraid of making mistakes, but you’re already one step ahead of where I was when I first began at U.A. since you’re already brave enough to approach someone.”

“So.. I just tell myself it’s fine?” The girl asked, looking up at her. Seeing (First Name) nod,she started to repeat the words to herself quietly.

Brave enough to love you

Brave enough, brave enough

(First Name) and Neito opened an agency with Hitoshi after graduating from U.A.,taking over a large territory in the city.

“(First Name),you’re needed over near the arcade by MightyBar!” Neito called out to his girlfriend from his desk.

“Got it! I’ll be back soon!” (First Name) called out, opening the door to the balcony by her own desk. Stepping outside, she took off in an instant, eager to deal with the villain that had sprouted up in her city.

Twirling her way around buildings and between skyscrapers,(First Name) arrived at her destination quickly. Dealing with the villain and then handing him off to the police, the girl disappeared almost as fast as she’d appeared there.

Arriving back at the agency,(First Name) didn’t even manage to make it through the door before Neito told her she had been requested for a mission that would take at least  a week to complete. Sighing, she agreed to the mission and kissed his cheek before flying off once again.

The first day after (First Name) had left,Neito and Hitoshi instantly realized they’d messed up by letting (First Name) go off on a week-long mission.

“Neito,we have to get to the skyscraper over on third street!” Hitoshi shouted as he grabbed his mask, frustrated with the blond.

“Well I’m sorry,if you saw how much paperwork we have piled up,you’d be able to see that I’m kinda busy!” Neito shouted as he ran down the stairs with the purple-haired boy.

“We need to request someone else that’s high-speed to come here while (First Name) is gone! I can’t deal with all of this!” Hitoshi shouted, knowing fully well they were out of their depth without (First Name) there.

“Well she was able to handle things in less than ten minutes because she can fly! We’re on foot!” Neito snapped, sighing a little as he kept running.

By the time they actually arrived on scene,Izuku had taken out the villain, the green-haired hero looking at them and laughing. “You two having trouble with Kou gone?”

“This is hell.. It’s only the first day with her gone, but we’ve gotten thirty calls..” Neito panted, sighing a little.

“I can ask Iida to cover for you guys this week if you want.” Izuku suggested, chuckling a bit when he saw Hitoshi nod.

“Please.. This is hell..” HItoshi muttered, wiping his forehead as he caught his breath.

“I’ll call him over here, then.” Izuku said, before dealing with the police.

The second day, after Tenya had arrived to help out,the blue-haired hero could hardly handle it.

“I.. Can’t breathe.. Need a sec…” Tenya muttered as he panted, struggling to catch his breath.

“They need you over on fifth street, and then there was a call from across town..” Neito told him, before copying his Quirk. “I’ll take the one across town.” He said, taking off.

Tenya groaned and took off after catching his breath, shocked that (First Name) could keep the crime rate down in such a big city.

The third day,and it was Hanta who took care of the city. The boy was hardly able to keep up with the amount of calls he was given, and even with Neito copying his Quirk, they were struggling.

(First Name) returned on the fourth day, much to the relief of Neito and Hitoshi.

“What happened to you guys?” (First Name) asked, raising an eyebrow when she saw how stressed they looked.

“How come you’re back early?” Hitoshi asked, glad she was back already.

“Never leave again!” Neito shouted, coughing a little. “Fuck,it was hell! There were too many calls!”

“The mission was rather easy to complete,” (First Name) told Hitoshi, patting Neito’s back. “You guys did well while I was gone.”

“Yeah,yeah..” Hitoshi muttered, waving her off and sighing. “You’re banned from going on missions that last more than a day.”

Brave enough to love you

Three years passed, and (First Name) was within the top five heroes. Since she was such a highly-rated hero,Nezu extended an offer to send her students from U.A. as interns, which made the girl grin.

Watching the sports festival,(First Name) decided to choose the kids that looked like they were struggling; she wanted to do the same things her own mentor had done for her. “Neito,we’re taking in three!”

“Three?! We’re only supposed to take two!” Neito shouted from the other room, groaning when he heard his girlfriend laugh. “You’re lucky I love you!”

“Yeah, yeah! We’re heroes, our job is to take care of the kids nobody wants!” (First Name) replied, writing down what the struggling kids looked like since she didn’t know their names.

A while passed, and (First Name) was eager to welcome the trio from U.A. into her agency for the work studies.

“Nice to meet you three. I’m Kou,but you three can just call me (First Name).” (First Name) told them, smiling brightly when she saw how terrified they seemed.

“I’m Neito Monoma, but please just refer to me as Phantom.” Neito said from beside his girlfriend, smiling pleasantly at the trio of first-years.

“I’m Hitoshi Shinso, but please only refer to me as Shinso.” Hitoshi sighed, looking over paperwork still.

“I’m Kyuushi.” A boy with silver hair and bright red eyes said awkwardly, staring at them.

“I’m Maiha.” A girl with bright blue hair and black eyes said, fiddling with her fingers.

“And I’m Seishi.” A boy with pink hair and gray eyes said, gulping nervously.

“It’s nice to meet you all,” (First Name) told them, eager to get to work. “You’re all probably wondering why we chose you, right?”

“Yeah..You’re the Number Four hero, and it’s weird that you chose us..” Kyuushi admitted, looking up at her.

“Fifty percent of it was because you all didn’t make it through the first round of the sports festival. Thirty percent was because you all have experienced villain attacks.” (First Name) told them, remembering when Hawks had told her and Fumikage something similar.

“What’s the other twenty percent?” Maiha asked, finally raising her head to look at the girl.

“Twenty percent was because you all have been wasting your potential.” (First Name) told them, her (Eye Color) eyes sparkling.
