Everyday as Roommates 3 (Emmakarin)

“I’m back! Sorry to keep you waiting, Karin.” Emma announced down the entryway, closing the door behind her. She went straight into their dorm’s kitchenette, setting plastic bags on the counter. Reaching in, she pulled out a hot water pack, twisting the cap and picking up their thermos, carefully pouring the boiling water inside. Quickly, the warmth could be felt as she twisted the cap closed. It was a comfortable warmth, not too hot nor too cold.

Next, she took out a cotton casing for the water pack. Pressing plastic against skin would cause them to sweat on top of the uncomfortable sensation. With this, she could even hug it, which she did to satisfy her curiosity. It was fluffy and warm, much like her pet goat back home. She reminded herself to pet Neve when she returned home to visit.

“Emmaaaa...” A groan originating from the living room. Emma peered over, seeing Karin right where she left her before heading to the convenience store nearby. Her roommate laid down, curled into herself, visibly in pain. It was that time of the month for Karin, and it was in their good fortunes their cycles didn’t line up, so they could take care of each other when it happened.

“I’m almost done, wait a moment please!” Emma called out, her tone sweet and reassuring, but the groans persisted, though she was quieter. She set the water pack down, taking out the next item she bought: Chamomile tea. A tried and tested remedy. She poured hot water in Karin’s favored mug then dropped a tea bag. She stole a quick glance at her roommate, then decided to add another remedy to the mug. It was a frantic search through their cabinet, but she found it. She uncapped the bottle, sprinkling a pinch of cinnamon before stirring the tea.

Emma picked up the mug and the water pack, heading to the living room in a quick, but careful manner. It would be a disaster if she spilled anything. “Hey, Karin. Are you feeling any better?”

She was met with a groan. Karin shifted on the couch, that alone causing her discomfort. “I shouldn’t have practiced today...” Emma sighed, reaching out to wipe strands of hair away from her eyes. She set the cup down on the coffee table, kneeling down in front of the couch.

“Here, Karin! This should lessen the pain.” Emma hovered the hot water pack over her. Karin blinked slowly at the object, then took it, curling her body around the warm, fluffy warmth. A long sigh left Karin, her body relaxing slightly.

“Ah... I love you so much.” Karin breathed out, hugging the water pack. Emma giggled, wondering why they’ve never bought one until now. She supposed it was because they’ve only recently started practicing as school idols and doing anything physical during a woman’s time of reckoning is a bad idea. Emma advised her to take it easy, but Karin was determined to surpass one of their club members. “I’ll always listen to you from now on, Emma...”

“Good, because I’m always looking out for you, Karin.” A warm grin radiated her face, and Karin was sure she was seeing the face of a goddess. Hormones were making her think of outlandish thoughts, but all centered on how much she’d be suffering right now without her roommate. “Oh, there’s some tea if you can stomach drinking some!”

Karin groaned, looking to the mug on the coffee table. “Later... Hey Emma, can I ask a favor?”

She nodded, the smile ever-present. “Of course!”

“Can you sit with me on the couch?” Karin’s words were slow, but she finished with upturned eyes. Emma swore she looked like a puppy, a far cry to her usual cool and sexy demeanor.

“But, there’s not much space.” She stood up, surprised to see Karin slowly heave herself to a sitting position. She hissed out in pain, curling around her comfy source of heat. Emma reluctantly sat beside her, thinking that it would be better to have her on the bed. A spot infinitely more comfortable than their couch.

In short silence, Karin eased herself back down, but this time she laid her head down in Emma’s lap. She then curled into a tighter, but relaxed ball, at ease from the warmth of the water pack and Emma’s thighs. The skirt she wore was thin, allowing more heat to pass through.

“Is that better, Karin?” Emma asked, giggling. Below her, Karin gave a slow nod, moving herself closer to her body.

“So much better.” Karin hummed out, stroking the cotton cover of the pack lazily. There was a smile on her face, her voice a numb drawl. “I love you...”

“Are you telling the hot pack or me?” Emma joked, getting comfortable on the couch.

“Mmm... Both.” Karin decided with a resolute hum against Emma’s legs. She smiled, reaching over to pick up the mug of Chamomile tea. The sudden movement elicited a soft whine from Karin. “Nooo... Don’t leave me, Emma.”

Emma suppressed laughter, settling back down on the couch. “I’m right here, Karin. Just getting a drink. You seem preoccupied to drink it.”

A groan left Karin’s lips, but there was a sudden noise of realization. “That’s fine. If you get warm while drinking it, your thighs will get warm for me!” Emma smiled at her thought process. It hadn’t been the weirdest thing Karin had said this week. At least she wasn’t having period cravings.

“Hey, Emma? Do you think about getting another roommate that’s less annoying?”  Emma kept the sigh to herself, having already heard this question earlier today. She shook her head, looking down at her with a patient smile.

“Nope! I love having you as my roommate, Karin.” Instead of a smile returned, she saw Karin narrow her eyes, lips pursed in thought.

“Really? I tend to be overbearing sometimes, and I don’t dress much in the dorms. Ah, thank you for the sweater, by the way. It feels so nice and warm.” Karin thanked with a smile, rubbing a hand against the sweater she was wearing. Emma lent it to her just before heading out to the store.

Beneath the thick woolen sweater was just her roommate in her underwear. Emma had gotten used to the scene, not minding the abundance of skin Karin would show around the dorm.

“You’re welcome, Karin.” She giggled, taking a sip of the warm tea. It was soothing, and the cinnamon was a welcome spice to keep her awake. On her lap was another drawn out whine.

“I don’t want a boyfriend! You can take care of me just as well- No, even better!” The night was young, and with it would come the hormonal rants. Emma smiled patiently, learning to entertain it to make her roommate happy.

“Gee, that makes me happy, Karin.” It was an odd compliment, if it was one at all, but it made Emma happy.

Karin shook her head, her hair rubbing against her skirt. “Once these annoying cramps go away, I’ll return the favor by taking care of you in bed- Ow...” A pang of pain curled her tighter. Emma stoked her head until it passed, fighting down the blush on her face. “Agh... Why did I push myself so hard today? Setsuna, that bitch...”

“Hey now, that’s mean.” Emma scolded, waving a finger over her.

Karin groaned, nodding slowly as she turned away guiltily. “I’m sorry, Emmama.” A warm hand resumed stroking her hair, and she hummed at the warmth. The silence was short as she began another spiel of how much she hated wearing heels. Emma knew that she didn’t, it was just another rant caused by the pain.

“Ah! I wish we only had one bedroom! I want us to sleep together, you’re so warm!”

“Thanks Karin, I like sleeping with company, too.” Emma said with a smile, finishing her tea. She set it down on the coffee table, then leaned back down on the couch.

“Let’s do it tonight, then!” Karin suggested heatedly, staring up at her with excited eyes. Emma simply sighed, nodding. Tonight would be a long night, but she wouldn’t have her evening any other way.
