Thion 3XQ: Journey [ON HOLD]

TW/ basically, tzuyu’s character has a breakdown

Tzuyu stumbled out of the cafe, she clenched her chest, it hurt. The world around her seemed to be spinning, she couldn’t recognize a single face nor did she know where she was going. All she could think about is Chaeyoung. All she could think about is how Chaeyoung broke her heart. All she could think about is how she ruined her relationship with Chaeyoung. She felt an insane amount of guilt. She nearly fell but steadied herself using the wall of a nearby building.She closed her eyes and tried to steady her breathing. But all she could think about is what happened merely minutes ago..She’s angry. Angry at Chaeyoung but more so, angry at herself. She kicked the side of the wall out of anger. 

“Fuck” Tzuyu yelped, that definitely hurt, but it was nothing compared to how her heart felt. She crouched down on the ground holding her head. People gave her strange looks as they passed by. All she wanted right now was for the ground to open up and swallow her whole. She couldn’t believe she’s lost her best friend.. she lost her best friend over a woman she's in love with; The only woman she’s ever loved. She thinks it’s not fair, why wasn’t she allowed to be happy and in love?

She slowly stood up and tried to steady her breathing, her vision’s blurry as the tears threatened to spill. She let her feet carry her to the one place where she could drown her sorrows.

Mina followed Chaeyoung upstairs and found the girl on the couch with her head in her hands. She had always wanted Chaeyoung to move in with her, but not like this. “What is the matter with you?!” 

Chaeyoung sighed. “Mina, not now. Please” 

“No. She didn’t deserve any of that” 

“Oh great. Now you’re taking her side” 

“It’s not about taking sides! You’re being so ridiculous” Mina angrily said. “Tell me something, do you still love that woman?” 

“No! What the fuck Mina? How many times do I have to tell you No?! I love you!” 

“Then why are you acting like this? Being an asshole towards your best friend?” 

Chaeyoung groaned in frustration. “Sana was my first love. She was my first everything, and I thought we would spend the rest of our lives together until she completely obliterated my heart at graduation. Do you know how hard that was for me to get over that?” Chaeyoung sighed. “It’s like you and Tzuyu don’t get it. She was there witnessing how bad I became after she left and countless times I’ve told you about it and you dare to question my love for you? I feel absolutely nothing for her but pure hatred and disgust” 

“You’re acting like a child” 

“Am I not allowed to be upset?” 

Mina sighed. Chaeyoung could be so annoyingly stubborn sometimes. “What you said down there was unforgivable” 

“Oh so now I’m the one that should beg for her forgiveness?” Chaeyoung scoffed. “I thought you were on my side. But here you are defending her. Great another one of my girlfriends for her to steal” she sneered. 

“You’re such an asshole oh my god” Mina stormed off into her bedroom and slammed the door. Chaeyoung grumbled to herself for a while until she started feeling guilty towards Mina and Tzuyu. She had too much pride to ever go and talk to Tzuyu first but with Mina, she’d do anything for her. 

It had been an hour before Chaeyoung slowly went into the room to find Mina sleeping on the bed. She got on the bed next to her and brushed her hair out of her face. She loved this woman so much that sometimes she felt Mina deserved better. “I love you” Chaeyoung whispered before giving her a kiss on the forehead. 

“I love you too” Mina mumbled. “Cuddle?” She knew they had to have a talk about it again but for now she just wanted Chaeyoung to hold her. 

Chaeyoung smiled. “Of course”

It had been a while since Tzuyu was gone and Sana was a bit worried. She had told her that she’d be right back but it’s been hours since. 

“Why do you keep checking your phone?” Nayeon asked suddenly. “When’s Tzuyu going to come?” 

“I don’t know.. She’s not answering any of my texts” Sana frowned looking at her phone. She had tried calling her too since it was late in the evening. 

“She probably got hung up by Jihyo or something, I wouldn’t worry about it” Elkie said as she flipped the page from the magazine she was reading. Sana tried to convince herself it wasn’t anything serious and that Tzuyu had indeed been held up by extra work. 

But it was 6:23 pm when Sana got a call from an unknown number. “Hello?”

“Hi, are you Miss Sana?” 

“Uh yes?” 

“Well I tried calling Chaeyoung but she wasn’t answering and Mina said to call you. I got your number from Tzuyu’s phone” 

“Who is this?” Sana couldn’t recognize the voice she was speaking with. 

“Ah, my name‘s Gahyeon. I’m a friend of Tzuyu’s. I’m calling you because- well she’s passed out at the bar and I’m worried about her. I can’t take her home because my shift ends in three hours” 

Sana’s not sure she heard that right. “What do you mean she’s passed out?” The others gave her a look of concern. They were mouthing to her, asking what was going on. 

“She’s blacked out drunk. Can you come pick her up?” 

Sana held her head and sighed. What was Tzuyu doing drinking alone at this hour. “Y-yes I’m on my way right now” Sana rushed to put on her coat, still on the phone with Gahyeon. “Please text me the address” 

“Sana what’s going on?” Momo asked worriedly when the latter had ended the call. 

“I don’t know. I just got a call saying Tzuyu’s passed out at some bar. I need to go and get her” 

“What?” They were all just confused as her. 

“I don’t know but I’m leaving” 

“Wait, I’ll come with” Momo accompanied her best friend in case she might need some help. They were all worried about the tall girl because that was something so out of character to them. Especially Elkie who knew Tzuyu rather well. This was the first time she’s heard of her getting black out drunk. 

Sana and Momo rode a cab and arrived quickly at the location Gahyeon had texted her. Sana burst through the doors, eyes scanning around the room for her girlfriend. 

A small pink haired girl approached them. “Hi, are you Sana? I’m Gahyeon. We spoke on the phone” 

Sana nodded. “Yes, thank you for calling. Where is she?” 

Gahyeon took the back of the bar and through a door, there Tzuyu was slouched out on the couch. Sana crouched beside her and as she did that, Tzuyu reeked of alcohol. “Tzuyu, wake up. You need to get up” she caressed her cheek but Tzuyu only mumbled. 

“Why didn’t someone stop her?” Momo angrily said. 

“I’m sorry, I’d refuse to serve her but I’ve been a little busy. It must have been my coworker who kept giving her the drinks”

“Well where are they? I’d like to give them a piece of my mind” Momo was about to walk away to find the culprit but Sana stopped her. 

“Momo, let it go. Just help me get her up” Sana said as she wrapped an arm around her shoulder. Momo did the same and they pulled her up to stand but even with the two of them she was still kind of heavy. 

“Tzuyu come on you have to walk” 

“Mmm..” Tzuyu mumbled, her eyes were closed and all she wanted to do was sleep. They managed to finally get into the cab with a bit of struggle. 

“Thank you, Gahyeon” Sana said, panting. 

“No worries, just hope she’s okay. She’s never done that” 

Sana nodded and gave her a pointed smile. They had the driver drive them back to the base, and then there was another struggle of getting her into her apartment. 

“There you go” Momo said after they both laid her down on the bed. She looked at the girl sprawled out on the bed sympathetically. “What ya think happened?” 

Sana sighed and ran a hand through her hair. “I don’t know” 

“I’ll stay here tonight” 

“No no. It’s fine. I’ve got it covered” 

Momo gave her a look.

“Momo it’s fine. I got this. She’s my girlfriend, I can take care of her myself” 

“Sana-“ 

“No it’s fine. It really is. You should go back and get some sleep” 

Momo stared at her for a few seconds and sighed. “Alright. But call me if you need anything” 

Sana reassured her that she would and walked Momo out the apartment. She walked back into the room and watched as Tzuyu was lightly snoring. She moved to take the girl’s shoes off as well as the jacket she had been wearing. Shortly after, she decided to sit on the couch in the living room. She had noticed that the apartment looked a little empty, with only Tzuyu’s belongings left. She wondered if Chaeyoung had moved out and was the reason why Tzuyu had drunk so much. Sana wanted to stay in Tzuyu’s room with her but the scent of alcohol was a bit too overbearing. Sana sat there thinking about Tzuyu until she eventually fell asleep.  

It was about two hours and a half later when Tzuyu woke up with the urge to throw up. She struggled to get up and out of bed. She tripped and fell on her way to the bathroom, which made Sana jolt awake after she heard a thud. She quickly went to the room to find Tzuyu on the floor, groaning. 

“Come on let’s get you up” She muttered as she helped the girl up and led them towards the bathroom. She lifted the toilet seat and held Tzuyu’s hair in her hands as the girl threw up. It took her about half an hour for her to calm down. Tzuyu felt like she had emptied out her whole stomach and her head was pounding. 

“Here drink this” Sana offered her some water. Tzuyu sat back and leaned on the bathroom wall on the floor and weakly drank it. While Sana flushed the toilet and closed the cover, then she sat on it and watched her finish the cup of water. Tzuyu leaned her head back with her eyes closed.  

“Come on let’s get you in the shower. You reek” Sana said as she started to undress Tzuyu. She slowly helped her up and walked her into the shower and turned it on. She was about to grab the soap but Tzuyu grabbed her arm. “I’ll do it” 

“Tzuyu” 

“It’s fine” Tzuyu gave her a weak smile. Sana sighed and gave her the soap. She pulled the curtain and went out to get Tzuyu’s clothes and towel.  After she had nearly set it down she said “Tell me if you need help okay?” 

Tzuyu hummed as a response and Sana closed the door and waited on the bed for her to finish. 

Tzuyu stood under the head just letting the cold water hit her. It was refreshing to say the least and Sana hoped that the shower would make her feel better and sober her up. It was a few minutes when Tzuyu walked out in her clean clothes and Sana called her over to sit on the bed so she could dry her hair. Sana took a shower herself, she hoped that Tzuyu would still be awake so that they could talk a little. 

When she walked back into the room Tzuyu was still sitting on the edge of the bed just staring at the wall. 

“Hey, how are you feeling?”

Sana was met with silence as Tzuyu continued spacing out and stared at the wall. “Tzu, are you okay?” Sana sat next to her and rubbed her back. “Hey, talk to me. Tell me what’s wrong” 

“It’s all my fault..” Tzuyu mumbled. 

“What is?” 

“Everything. It’s always been my fault. It’s all my fault Chaeyoung left” Tzuyu’s voice cracked. “I deserve to die” 

Sana stood up and brushed her hand through her hair. “No you don’t. Don’t say that” she said in a low voice, she didn’t even want to look at her. Her suspicions were true but how could Tzuyu even think something like that. 

“Yes it’s all my fault I-“ 

“Don’t. Don’t say it. You’re not in your right mind right now Tzuyu. You should sleep” 

“I should die” Tzuyu whimpered. 

“Stop it!” Sana turned around to look at her and Tzuyu looked so small and so broken. 

”I’m just so fucking tired, Sana” Tzuyu choked out. ”I barely sleep at night, even with you next to me I keep having the same fucking dreams or nightmares or whatever over and over and over again” she violently rubbed her eyes and broke down.“I-I just-I let everyone down, I let you down, I let Chaeyoung down I let the Captain down, I let f9 down. I let my mom down. I couldn’t save anyone. I let them die! Me! I did that!” She hit her chest as she sobbed “It’s all my fault they’re all gone” 

Sana just stood there, not really sure what to do or to say. She sat next to the girl and tried to pull her in for a hug but Tzuyu slightly pushed her away. “I-I can’t do this anymore. I just want to fucking die!” She shouted. Her lips were quivering as she put her head in her hands and mumbled  “Why couldn't it have been me instead of them?” as she cried. 

Seeing Tzuyu like that, absolutely broke Sana’s heart. She’s never seen her look completely and utterly broken. Tzuyu was so young yet she went through so much already. She’d never given herself the proper time to mourn, she'd been bottling everything up all inside and Chaeyoung’s departure only pushed her to the edge. She never knew that Tzuyu’s survivor’s guilt was this bad because she rarely ever spoke about it. Sana couldn’t help but quietly sob as Tzuyu cried her heart out on the bed. She tried to muffle her cries with her hands but seeing the person you love beat themselves up about something they had no control over, hurts. 

Sana tried her best to compose herself and approached the girl once again. “Hey” She began to rub her back. “None of that is your fault” 

This time Tzuyu didn’t push her away and continued crying. “Y-yes i-it is” 

“No, baby no. It’s not your fault. Please, don’t say that” Sana leaned her head on her shoulder and closed her eyes. “Can you do something for me please? Can you tell yourself “it’s not my fault”? Can you do that for me?” 

Tzuyu sniffed as she had calmed down a little. 

“Can you do that for me? It’s absolutely none of your fault. I don’t want you to blame yourself” 

“But it is-“ 

“No” Sana cupped her cheek and put her forehead against Tzuyu’s. “Tell yourself it’s not your fault every time you feel that way. Every time you have bad thoughts, you tell yourself that and you’ll start to believe and see that none of it is your fault” 

Tzuyu closed her eyes and uttered “it’s not my fault” 

“Good” Sana kissed her head. “Now keep saying it” 

“It’s not my fault”

“It’s not my fault” Sana pulled her into her arms and guided her further up onto the bed where Tzuyu curled up beside her with her eyes closed. “It’s not my fault” 

“It’s not my fault” Tzuyu cried. She kept repeating it through her tears until she eventually tired herself out and fell asleep. Sana held Tzuyu in her arms and silently cried herself to sleep. 

Sometime in the night Tzuyu had woken up, she was still a bit high but she had calmed down a lot more. She was still curled up in Sana’s arms as she brushed her hair. Sana had been awake for a few minutes before the younger girl. 

“How do you feel?” Sana gave her a kiss on the forehead. 

“I feel like shit honestly” Tzuyu sighed. “I’m a little embarrassed as well..”

“Why?” 

“Because.. I just broke down like a little bitch in front of you” Tzuyu sighed, she tried to play it off as a joke but Sana didn’t find it funny. 

“There’s nothing wrong with that and that’s nothing to be embarrassed about. I’m glad you told me how you’ve been feeling. You bottling it up for so long is what scared me..“ Sana’s voice cracked.” I don’t want you to do that ever again. Okay?” 

Tzuyu avoided her gaze and stared at the door. Sana cupped her cheek to make her look at her. “I mean it. I care about you a lot and I don’t want you to keep hurting yourself Tzuyu, please” 

“Alright baby. I’m sorry for making you worry” Tzuyu held her hand and squeezed it. 

“It’s okay. It’s just I don’t know what I’d do if you hurt yourself” Sana sobbed.  

Tzuyu kissed the palm of her hand and wiped her tears with her thumb. “I’ll never leave you, I promise. I love you too much” 

Sana’s lips were still trembling and so she gave her a kiss. “Do you believe in love at first sight?” Tzuyu asked, trying to change the subject. She didn’t want to upset Sana even more, nor did she want her to worry. 

”I’m not sure” Sana sniffed as she wiped her tears. 

”Well I do. It happened with you” Tzuyu smiled. 

Sana chuckled. ”What are you talking about?”

“That day you transferred to our school, the first time I really laid my eyes on you, I thought you were the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen”

Sana felt her heart flutter. “Thought?” 

Tzuyu nodded and grinned. “I still think you are” She continued. “I think-I think deep down I’ve always been in love with you. For all these years, I locked those feelings away  deep inside my heart because my best friend was in love with you. I tried to fool myself into thinking you meant nothing to me” Tzuyu chuckled. “Now look where we are now. I’m solemnly pouring my heart out to you almost eight years later. Isn’t it funny?” 

Sana leaned down and kissed her softly. “I’m so in love with you, Sana” Tzuyu whispered. Sana smiled and gave her another small kiss. “So.. You were mean to me because you liked me?”

Tzuyu chuckled, “No.. no..”. Her smile faltered as she became serious. “I’m sorry about all that again”

Sana shook her head and caressed the latter’s head. ”It’s alright, it’s in the past”

Tzuyu sighed. “I wish I could go back and confess to you first” 

“Oh really?” Sana giggled. 

“Yeah. You think you’d say yes to old teenage Tzuyu?” She said as she wiggled her eyebrows. 

Sana laughed. “If I knew you were this sweet then who knows right?” 

“No, you loved Chaeyoung” Tzuyu sighed. “And she loved you” 

Sana frowned. “But now I’m with you” and I love you. 

“Guess I won in the end right?” Tzuyu smiled. 

“So I’m just a prize to you?” 

“Yes. I’ve never won anything in my life. Ever. Let me be happy” Tzuyu pouted and Sana chuckled. They continued talking for a bit before they both fell asleep together again, curled up in each other’s arms. 

The very next day, the girls began their training. Tzuyu’s beyond hungover and a little morose, not to mention she has her own schedules and training to attend to but she found time in between to monitor how Lisa trains them. She hates to admit it but the girl was actually a good teacher and leader, and it pissed Tzuyu off even more. 

Sana and her we’re both wearing sunglasses to hide their puffy eyes. After spending the night talking, crying and laughing together they sure needed it. 

Lisa was getting a little too friendly with her training for Tzuyu’s liking. Not to mention Sana’s shorts were a little too short. 

“Careful, you might burn a hole into the back of her head” Elkie said as she approached her near the bleachers and took a sip of water. 

“You can’t even see my eyes” Tzuyu grumbled. 

“Oh please” Elkie rolled her eyes. “I don’t need to see them to know” she jogged off. 

“Hey Tzu” Sana said as she jogged closer to her girlfriend. Tzuyu handed her a bottle of water and she took a drink. 

“Why do you have to be so sexy?” Tzuyu said seriously. 

Sana furrowed her brows and giggled. “What?” 

“You look too good in those shorts it’s distracting” 

Sana rolled her eyes and playfully slapped Tzuyu’s cheek. “Can you not” 

“What? You’re hot. What do you want me to say?” Tzuyu smiled and leaned to give Sana a kiss. “But if she tries anything with you, let me know and I’ll kick her ass” 

“You’re cute but I’m fine. I can take care of myself” Sana said. “How’s your head?” 

Tzuyu looked down. She knew what Sana meant and what she was trying to ask, but she didn’t want to talk about it. “Well, it hurts like hell but I’ll be alright” 

“Tzuyu-“

“Hey Chou!” Lisa yelled, catching both their attention. “Don’t you have practice today or something? I might have to report you to Jihyo for skipping your duties” She sneered. 

“I really can’t stand her” Tzuyu grumbled and Sana rolled her eyes. “Yeah yeah I know. Now go, before you get in trouble” 

“She’s bluffing” 

“Tzuyu” Sana gave her a look making her sigh and stand up. “Alright fine I’m leaving”

“Okay. I’ll text you” Sana leaned in to give her a kiss but Tzuyu pulled her close and cupped her ass as she gave her a semi passionate kiss. She knew Lisa was watching them. She smirked and left a very flustered Sana on the field. 

A month of training went by in a flash and Lisa is still not entirely sure what exactly they’re training for but she’s not complaining; She gets to see Sana and four other beautiful girls in sports wear every day. Tzuyu would swing around whenever she could to watch them, and in the night Sana would excitedly tell her what she had learned. She would also practice her combat skills with Tzuyu inside the apartment. 

One day when they were warming up for their training, they got the good news that Sunmi had finally started to speak again. They all quickly rushed over there and were elated about the news and overwhelmed at seeing her finally being able to speak. She had not fully returned to her old self but with time, she’d be back to normal again. With Sunmi’s recovery came the need for them to all go back to Zletin University for their graduation. The ceremony had been postponed and now she was deemed well enough to return.

At first, Sana was hesitant to leave but Tzuyu assured her that she should partake in her graduation since she worked so hard for that degree. It was unfortunate that their graduation trip was disrupted. With little convincing, Sana finally decided to go. They all invited Tzuyu and Elkie to attend the ceremony. 

Elkie cheered loudly when each of the girl’s names were called. Tzuyu brought her own little party horn and blew her lungs out when Sana’s name was called. Ptooo “THAT'S MY BABY WHOOO!!” Ptooo. Elkie had to grab her arm to get her to calm down because people were giving her strange looks and it was a little embarrassing. 

When the ceremony was over, the family members of the graduates went down to greet them all. Tzuyu and Elkie had brought bouquets of flowers for each of them. “Hey Congrats!” Tzuyu said towards Nayeon, Jeongyeon and Momo who had been huddled together taking pictures. Elkie gave them each of their flowers which they adored. 

“Hey Tzuyu” Momo said as she noticed the taller girl was looking around for her.  “There’s your girl” 

Sana was standing, talking with a woman and a man who Tzuyu recognized as the Dean of her old high school. Tzuyu shyly approached her. “Sana” 

Sana turned around to see her girlfriend holding a bouquet of flowers in her hand. Tzuyu thought Sana looked incredibly beautiful and adorable in her cap and gown, not to mention the smile she was giving her right now. Sana walked up to her, “Are those for me?” 

Tzuyu nodded with a smile. “Congrats, babe” she leaned down to give her a small kiss. “Im so proud of you” 

“Thank you” Sana gave her another kiss before pulling her towards her parents. “Mom and Dad, this is Tzuyu, my girlfriend” 

“Hello” Tzuyu timidly said. 

“Nice to meet you, Tzuyu” Mrs. Minatozaki held her hand out for Tzuyu to shake, which she did. 

“Chou Tzuyu?” Mr. Minatozaki asked while Tzuyu nodded. “I remember you. You were a great student at Frane” He shook her hand. “You were great friends with that Son girl weren't you?” He then turned to Sana and asked, “Wasn’t the little Son girl your girlfriend back in high school?” 

Tzuyu awkwardly stood there while Sana rolled her eyes. “Dad stop” She then pulled Tzuyu to the side with her. “I’m sorry about that” 

“It’s okay. Don’t worry about it” Tzuyu smiled and held her hands.

“Are you staying for the after party?”

“I wish I could. But Jihyo might blow a fuse if I don’t get back soon. Elkie will be there though” 

Sana pouted. “But it won’t be the same without you” 

“I know. But I’ll see you soon okay?” Tzuyu cupped her cheeks and gave her multiple small kisses. “I love you” 

After a while, Tzuyu had to go back to the base while the rest went to Momo’s house for the graduation party. 

It had been a few days when the girls finally returned back to the base to finish their training. Since the tents were gone, Sana moved into Tzuyu’s apartment for the meanwhile, while the other girls rented an apartment close to the base (using Tzuyu’s credit card to pay for the rent and bills of course). Eventually, the new year came around which they all celebrated together in the girl’s apartment.

Two months had passed when one day, Jihyo got a report of another group of Zanertheans that had gone missing after passing over Thion 3XQ. 

“You know what this means right?” Tzuyu asked Jihyo. They were currently in her office after she had told Tzuyu what happened. “This means that we need to speed this up like now. We need to find those relics fast” 

“Are you crazy? They aren’t ready and I am not letting you go alone” Jihyo sternly said. 

“If I may speak, Captain” Sana spoke up. “But we’re ready. I believe we’re ready and time is running out” 

“No. It’s too soon” 

“Well would you rather more people go missing or get killed or tortured? Would you like to know that there are Zanertheans locked up in cages right at this very moment?”

Jihyo groaned and slammed her hand on her desk, startling them all. She closed her eyes for a few seconds before she sighed. “Fine. We leave tomorrow” 

“We?” Nayeon asked. 

“Yes, I don’t trust you all so Lisa and I will be accompanying you” Jihyo stated. 

“No fucking way” Tzuyu said angrily. 

“SGT Manoban comes or they’re not coming” 

“Fine by me. I don’t want to put Sana in danger either way” Tzuyu chuckled bitterly. 

“Tzuyu stop it” Sana scolded her. 

“But she hates Thions!” 

“What is this about me?” Lisa had heard them outside the door and walked in when she heard her name. 

“Oh great” Tzuyu mumbled. 

“Captain, if you need me for anything. I’m here for you” Lisa said with a salute. “Ane besides I heard all your plans from outside” 

Jihyo looked at her then looked at Tzuyu. They all turned their attention to Tzuyu who sighed. “Ugh fine” she grumpily agreed. 

“Good now, prepare your things. We leave at noon tomorrow”

“What are you doing here Tzuyu?” Mina asked when she saw Tzuyu standing across the counter. 

“Look I know I’m not wanted here but I just came by to tell you something. Can we talk?” Tzuyu came here to tell her about the mission about everything else that they discovered because she trusted Mina; she was one of her best friends. She hesitantly agreed to talk to the younger girl where Tzuyu explained in detail everything. 

“Wow..” Mina breathed out. “And when are you coming back?” 

“I don't know.. And I’d be lying if I said I wasn't scared” Tzuyu admitted. 

“You’re basically trying to save the world. Tzuyu that’s a huge. 

“Yeah.. well that’s all I came to say” 

Mina gave her a small smile and pulled her in for a tight hug. “You’re a big idiot you know? But I love you and please promise to come back safe. Okay?” 

Tzuyu giggled and gave her a kiss on the forehead. “I promise. I love you and I’ll be back soon” 

Later in the evening when Chaeyoung came home, Mina told her and explained to her everything that Tzuyu had told her. At first she didn't want to hear it but the more Mina went on the more she got interested and the more she got concerned.

So later that night, Chaeyoung busted through the door not even sparing a knock. “Put me on the mission” She demanded. 

 “You could have knocked”

“Right I’m sorry about that Captain but you need to put me on the mission” 

Jihyo raised her eyebrow. “What mission exactly?” 

“Chou Tzuyu’s mission to recover the relics. I need you to put me on the mission as well”

“How do you-”

“I’m her best friend” Granted she wasn’t being the best friend these past months but she still cared about Tzuyu. 

“And why should I let you go with us?” 

“I was ranked third in my class next to Tzuyu and Yukhei. I could help you guys” 

“But you’ve never been on a grand mission like this now have you?” 

“Captain please” chaeyoung begged. “Tzuyu’s my best friend and she can be stupid sometimes.. I-I need to be there for her. To keep her out of trouble. To have her back” 

Jihyo stared at her for a while, she was thinking about it before she shrugged and said. “Alright Son, we leave at noon tomorrow?” They could use the extra hands because Jihyo still wasn’t confident with the other girls. 

“Thank you, Captain” Chaeyoung smiled. 

“I know I can’t stop you but please, come back to me soon okay?” Mina said as she clung to her girlfriend. 

“I promise, I’ll call you and text you whenever I can” 

“Just be safe” Mina said with teary eyes. “I need both you and Tzuyu to come back in one piece” 

“Don’t cry” Chaeyoung rubbed her back. “I love you and I’ll be back soon” She slung her bag over her shoulder and gave Mina a kiss. “I love you” she said as she walked out, leaving with one last wave at her teary eyed girlfriend. Mina hoped that everything would be alright.

Tzuyu, Lisa and Momo were finishing up in loading the ship when Jihyo told the rest of them to get on. Tzuyu was climbing up when she saw Chaeyoung running towards them. 

“Son?” Lisa asked. 

Jihyo nodded. “Right. SGT Son will be joining us for extra support” she said as she patted her back and pushed her in. Tzuyu stiffened when she saw her walk in, she hadn’t seen her around for a while. Sana was surprised to see her as well. This is going to be awkward..

“Chae-”

“Stop” Chaeyoung cut her off. “I didn’t come for you. The captain said you all needed back up” She mumbled before she walked away. Tzuyu couldn’t help but smile as she saw Chaeyoung walk further into the ship. 

“Alright, get into positions” Jihyo commanded as she sat on the captain’s seat. “Prepare the engines” 

They did as told and finally the ship was off the land. “Alright Chou, get us out of here” Tzuyu nodded and blasted them off into space.
