"So roller skating, sounds like a date"

angela's pov:

I woke up to lila sniffing my nose forcing me awake. "Damn it lila you know I hate that" I say as I pet her softly. I set myself up and crack my knuckles. The sunlight shining through my window light up my room perfectly.

I get up from my bed and stretch. I walk out of my room and into the bathroom to brush my teeth. While brushing my teeth I looked myself in the mirror. I couldn't tell what it is but something about me is differently not bad just different.

I shake my head and finish brushing my teeth. I dry my hands on the towel sitting on the corner of the sink.

I walk out of the bathroom and into the kitchen. As I walked to the fridge I saw mom had left a note saying how she got called in early for work. I sigh and open the fridge looking for waffles.

I grab the box and pull two out and pushed the box back in the fridge. As I put them in the toaster the phone started to ring. I walk over to it and pick it up. "Hello?" I ask wondering who was calling.

"Angela?" I hear a familiar voice ask through the phone. "Robin?" I ask a smile growing on my face. "Yeah so glad you picked up" She says with relief in her voice. "How'd you get my number?" I ask "phone book" "ooh ok...I'll be right back my waffles just popped out" I say as I hear the waffles signal that they're done.

"I'll be right here" robin says before i walk over to get a plate and sit the waffles on I grab the syrup and pour it onto the waffles. I grab a clean fork from the sink and sit it on the table.

I run back over to the phone and pick it up to my ear. "hey i'm back" I say almost out of breath. "great...um so there was something I wanted to ask you if you are free to hang out today" she asks "yeah i am but i have to be back here before my mom is" I say.

"oh well they opened up this new roller rink a couple days ago and I remembered how you said you liked roller skating sooo I thought that I could take you there one day" she says.

I smiled to myself hearing her words. I felt my face grow hot and replied with "so roller skating sounds like a date....I would love to go...but um how are we supposed to get there?'' I ask her.

"oh I called up steve just in case you said no and he has a car so when he picks me up then we'll head to your house" she says.

"Great well i'm gonna go get dressed and everything, see you guys when you get here" I say before hanging up the phone.

I walk over to my waffles to find them cold "shit" I say before siting them on the counter next to the sink. I race to my bedroom and head to my closet.

I slide through the hangers and clothes until I found a pair of yellow shorts and matching yellow button up.

I throw off my pj's and put on the new clothes I picked out. I go to my bathroom to fix myself up. I tie up the end of my shirt and put my braids in a half up half down hairstyle.

I put on a yellow headband and go back to my room. I grab a brown belt and the yellow converses I got for my birthday last year.

After I got both on I sat on the ground next to my bed and pulled out the box holding my skates from underneath.

I pull them out of the box and tie the strings to each other and sit them on the ground next to me. I go back into the bathroom to get a finale look at myself.

For the first time in a while I look and feel good about myself. I here a couple knocks on the front door and run over to it.

I open the door to find robin and steve standing in front of me. I feel a smile form on my face seeing robin. She had black sunglasses in her hair and black muscle shirt tucked into mom jeans.

"you ready?'' steve asks me. "Yep just need to grab my skates and leave a note just incase my mom gets home early" I answer walking back in.

I wave at them to come inside. As they do i walk back into my room and pick my skates back up. I walk past the living room and into the kitchen. I grab a sticky note and pen out of one of the drawers.

I write down that if im not home i'm with robin roller skating. I stick it under a magnet on the fridge.

"And i am ready" i say walking back to robin and steve. I smile at both of them before grabbing my spare of keys and walking out the door.

I walked out the door to find a Cadillac with the hood down sitting in the driveway. I stop in my tracks seeing it. "Sweet right" steve says hoping in the driver's seat.

"hell yeah, this is honestly my dream car" I say getting into the back as robin slide into the passenger seat and sunglasses over her eyes.

Robin turned to me and said "you look amazing by the way...." She looked me up and down. "Yellow is definitely your color" she says and turns back around in her seat.

I turn my head down to try and hide my smile as i felt my face heat up.

As he pulls out of my driveway and starts driving to the roller rink i can feel the wind blow against my face and body. I turn my head up to the sky and close my eyes.

*third person pov*

As angela titled her head back, robin pushed her glasses back into her hair and turned to ask her something. But as robin saw angela the words die in her mouth. Somehow heaven is a place on earth started playing on the radio.

She looked at her for a couple seconds, her facial expressions soften. She flipped her sunglasses back over her eyes and turn back around.

*Angela's pov*

Not long after I open my eyes back up to robin tapping me on my knee. I look up to find us driving in front of a big shiny building with the words "new waters: roller rink and arcade" in cursive.

All the kids walking in and out of the place looked richer than rich. All wearing pastels and cardigans around their necks. Before I know it steve had parked and we started getting out.

I grip tightly onto my old and beaten brown skates as I ask "So where are your guys's skates?". Steve answered with "Oh we're just going to rent some here". "Oh ok" I reply shaking my head.

The fresh air smell from inside hit me like a truck going full speed the second we stepped inside. I look around finding people rolling across the whole place and having fun.

Robin interlocks her hand with mine. I look down and back up at her. "So we don't lose each other" she says in my ear. "ok" i reply as we all walked forwarded.

Once they had gotten their skates we put them on and I handed my shoes to the guy. Steve had waved us goodbye to go flirt with some girls.

I noticed robin looked almost green and uneasy. "You okay?" I ask worried. "I've never skated before" she says trying to stand but sitting right back down.

I pull her up and try to balance her using myself. When she finally looked like she had a good hold on me i start moving slowly outside the rink.

But the second i try to let her go she grips tightly onto the walls and just about anything that could hold her weight.

I bite on my lips and hang my head down trying not to laugh. "This isn't funny she says hanging onto the side of the rink for dear life.

"I know, i know but you look like a baby giraffe or something" i say before bursting in laughter as she fell to the ground.

I skate over and help her up still laughing. "You're evil" she says sarcastically. "Thank you" i reply still laughing.

As she holds on to my right arm to keep her up I saw her eyes. The purple and blue lights from above lightning up the place made her eyes look so beautiful.

"What's up?" She asks me. I try to look away but i just couldn't. "Uh nothing just the lighting is nice" I say gesturing towards the overhead lighting. "Can we go play some games? Robin asks.

"Sure" I say. She smiles and we start moving towards the arcade far from the rink. I look over the games to find Steve flirting with a girl next to the pac-man game.

"Look's like someone has a new friend" I say gesturing towards Steve. Robin looks over and chuckle's and we keep moving.

We keep going until we find a claw machine. Robin pulls a couple of quarters from her pocket and put them in the machine. She gestures for me to play as she watches.

I actually win a small green frog stuffed animal. After I got the toy out of the machine I turn to robin and say "I'm gonna have to bring you around when I play games, i swear you're like my good luck charm or something".

She smiled and I smiled back. Moments like this were really nice almost perfect in a sense. She puts my hand in hers and I try to hide how happy it made me.

"You wanna go sit down?" I ask her. She shakes her head yes and I start moving us to a booth as far as I could find. we sit ourselves opposite of each other.

"What do you wanna do when you get out of this place?" I ask to fill the silence. "Um i don't know...I was thinking college or just getting an apartment somewhere... but I don't have the money for that yet" she answers." "You know what that actually sounds like a good idea.... once I get a job I'm helping you with that" she looks at me confused.

"with what?" "The apartment" I say. "I wasn't being serious" she says. "Well i am and trust me if i was gonna live with anyone its gonna be you, plus i think its about time i move out" I reply

"Same but where would we even find an apartment?" She ask. "Anywhere you just have to know where to look" I say assured. She smiles and lowers her head.

After a couple seconds of silence I hear steve say 'Hey guys, got ya guys pizza" as he places the platter of pizza on the table. A smile spread across my face as he slid into the seat next to robin.

"Thanks steve" I say before taking a slice and starting to eat it. "Where's your girl?" Robin asks before taking a slice. Steve laughs and says "She already got a guy".

He points towards the rink and I turn to find that same girl with another guy. "Damn" I say turning back around and counting to eat my pizza.

"Yeah" He says slouching into his seat. "Hey don't get sad we got pizza. Eat." i say trying to cheer him up.

"I knew I liked you" He says before eating a slice. I look over to Robin to find she had eaten two slices already. "Damn robin was it that good" I say laughing. She laughs and we eat our pizza.

"Let's go skate" I say to robin finishing my last slice. "Are you crazy? You already know I can't" She says wiping her mouth with a napkin. "Then why are we here? let me try to teach you. If you hate we can stop". I say trying to compromise

She thinks for a second then says "Fine". I smile in victory and get up from my seat.

Steve slides out from his seat letting robin out and slides back in. I hold my hand out for her to take.

She takes my hand and I move us towards the rink. She's actually doing pretty great for someone who "can't skate".

There wasn't a lot of people skating right now so it was easy to try and teach her. Her grip on my hand tighten when we finally got inside the rink. I look next to me and up to her and say "You can do this I believe in you".

She back at me try's to hide how worried she looks. "Take a deep breath and just push off the other foot and keep pushing" I say. She takes a deep breath and lets go of my hand.

She starts to skate with out me she doesn't look good but she's doing it. "Hey how do I sto-" Her sentence is cut short by slamming into the ground. I lift my hand to my mouth and say "Oh shit".

I skate over as fast as I can and try to pick her up. "You okay?" I ask. She looks up at me wincing. She's not bleeding or have any bumps on her head. "Can We please sit down?" She ask Still wincing.

"Yeah just let me get steve" I say. I look up to find steve looking confused. I wave him over and he doesn't even hesitates to start skating over to us. "What happened?" He ask. "She ate shit now we gotta sit her down" I say as we help her up.

We get out of the rink and sit her in an empty booth. "I'm gonna get some ice just incase" Steve says before skating off. "I'm sorry" I say sliding into the seat opposite from her.

"Don't be this barley scratches the surface of bad things that have happed to me...plus is was pretty fun before falling" She says a smilie forming on her face as she held a side of her head.

Steve comes back with a small bag of ice covered with a couple napkins. "Here you go" He says handing it to robin. He sits next to me instead of robin and we just sit together.

"I;m gonna return my skates" Robin says sitting the ice on the table. She scoots to the end of her seat, bends down and unties her skates. She tries to get up but immediately sits back down.

"Ok no you're not" I say. Steve get's up and takes the skates from her and she says "Thanks" "no problem" he reply's walking away and coming back with her shoes.

"You guys ready to go?" Steve ask us. I shake my head yes getting up. "Yeah" Robin says getting up and slinging her right arm over my shoulders. "Let's bounce" I say rolling towards the place where we can return our skates.

Robin walks over to the trash and throws the ice away.

As steve returns his skates I sit myself on a bench and take off my skates and put my sneakers back on. After we got ourselves and collected we walk out of the place

We walk towards the car. Since the top was down I slide over the door and sit in the seat behind the passenger seat. Robin hopped in next to me and steve started the car.

She slid her hand over my thigh as I felt my self dose off. I slide my head onto her shoulder put my sunglasses over my eyes and close them. I open my eyes to find us pulling into a gas station and parking still in robin's arms.

"You want a slushy?" she asks me notching I was awake. I move my shades up and rub my eyes and say "sure...can you get me one?". "Of course what flavor?" she asks.

"Red flavor" I say still tired as steve and robin unbuckles and gets out the car. After a couple minutes they both come back with a whole bag of candy and slushy's in hand.

Steve goes and pumps gas after throwing the bag of candy in the car. Robin hands me the slushy's and hops back into her seat. I hold both of the slushy's up and she takes one.

As I start to drink mine I realize that it's hers not mine. I look to her and she looks back at me with the same expression. We laugh and she ask "you wanna trade or?" I smile and " I actually like this flavor so it's good".

"Raspberry" She says popping her mouth off her straw. "You guys should just kiss and make purple" Steve says getting back in the car. I start chocking on the drink and robins face goes red.

"Oh my god steve" Robin says. "What? just pointing out the obvious" He says driving off. I put my shades over my eyes and let out a laugh. "So you got jokes now" I say. He laughs counting to drive.

I look over to her and put my hand on her knee. Her face was still red. I let out a laugh and kissed her cheek.

I go back to drinking my slushy with my hand still on her knee. The sun was starting to set and it felt like we were in a world of our own. I sit up and reach over the passenger seat for the candy.

I open the bag to find peach rings. "hell yes" I say pulling them out of the bag and putting the bag on the floor. I open the bag and pour some in my hand and start to eat them.

As we drove back to my house the sky was getting darker every minute. I look over to robin to find her looking up towards the sky. Her hair flowed with the wind behind her.

I tap onto her shoulder getting an idea. She looks to me and I ask "You wanna take on that idea of making purple?". She looks at me shocked. I smile and say "I was just kidding we don't gotta".

"I want to if you want to" She says a little more confident and leaning in. I look back up at her and close the gab between us. Her lips were soft and smooth and tasted like strawberry's.

Then out of nowhere it just hit me that I'm kissing the girl of my dreams in the car of my dreams. holy shit. I pull away and sit my head in my hand. Trying to hide a smile I look down.

She places her hand on my cheek and kisses me again. As we pull away from each other I look up at her and feel a sense of happiness. She has a content smile and slides her arm over my shoulders.

I settle back into my seat with her arm still around me. I reach my hand up to hers and we hold each others hand.

We pull into my drive way and park. "This was really fun, Thanks for inviting me" I say getting out and pulling my keys out of my pockets. "Yeah" robin says following me to my front door.

"Bye steve" I yell back at the car as we walk to my door. "See ya" He yells back. As I put the key into the lock and turn I turn back to robin and kiss her on the cheek. "See you around robin" I say entering my house

Robin's pov:

I watch her walk into her house and move my hand over the cheek she kissed. I walk away on cloud-9 and hop into the passenger seat. As he starts the car again steve says "Proud of you".

"Oh shut up" I say putting my shades back on. He looks at me and I look back. We laugh and he starts to drive off back to my house.
