! CATCALL + DRUNK MEN TRIGGER WARNING !
This wasn’t the first time something like this has happened to the girls after all even in a hero society men still got drunk and catcalled women. Usually a quick middle finger from Hina and a ‘get fucked you prick’ from Mei works as a deterrent and the man did indeed fuck off. This time it was different he was a drunk who just happened to tower over the girls, if Mei had to guess he was 6’3, and had the muscles to match his height. To make matters even worse he had friends 2 of them, equally as muscular but lacking in the height department.
“You ladies interested in a good night?” the tallest one asked
“Nah we’re good thanks so fuck off” Mei replied as she felt Hina’s grip on her arm tighten, she took her hand and squeezed Hina’s arm while sending a reassuring smile as they continued walking.
“Oh come on baby girl no need to be so rude” One of the shorter ones relayed.
Mei spun her head and looked at the man up and down “Listen its only 5pm and you’re already drunk out of your mind, if you’re that much of a lightweight I can only imagine how bad you are in bed also going after underage girls just shows that no-one your age wants you”
“What the fuck did you say you little bitch?” The original thug spat

“We’ll just be on our way so enjoy the rest of your evening and try not to be such pigs in the future” Mei muttered getting quieter by the end of the sentence, so quiet in fact she thought only Hina would be able to hear her.
“You don’t think we’re just going to let you go after that, do you?” he said getting closer to the girls, but they took no notice and continued walking away
Hina if they approach us looking for a fight I’m teleporting you away

I can handle them easily by myself but not if I have to worry about you getting hurt. I won’t move you back home but at least behind those trees. The trees being just on the other side of the road away from the bars, which we’re all practically empty as it was only 6pm.

“Are you listening to me you bitch!” Mei could practically feel his hot breath on the back of her neck, it was at this point she looked at Hina who gave her a brief nod just before being teleported away by Mei.
She spun to face the man who was about to become her opponent when she heard a voice call out her name. Kirishima. Her head turned to see him and a certain blonde standing nearby Hina and looking at Mei with wide eyes.
Before Kirishima, being the gentleman he is, could ask if Mei was okay she yelled in their direction “I don’t need your fucking help just watch out for Hina” She turned back to the man as she heard Bakugou ask ‘who the fuck is Hina’ to which her best friend responded in her usual loud voice ‘Me and I would bet any money you’re the prick known as Bakugou Katsuki’.
“You need to fuck off before you get hurt” Mei spoke in a deadly voice, Kirishima and Bakugou arriving really ruined her rhythm as she knew the two wouldn’t hesitate to jump in and help her fight. Her only hope was that they would let her handle it and look after Hina instead. Her thoughts interrupted by a fist which thundered in her direction and a classmate who used his explosions to shoot himself off in her direction. Mei took advantage of her fast reflexes and froze Bakugou mid-air and also stopped the fist centimetres in front of her face.
“Bakugou I can fucking handle this myself, interrupt me and I’ll put you on your ass again, i don't even fucking know why you're here!” Mei screamed at him not even bothering to look behind her as she dropped him from her black mist like energy field. With the slight embarrassment of being dropped on his ass Bakugou retreated back to Kirishima tried reassuring Hina that Mei was going to be fine and if things got too heated he and Bakugou wouldn’t hesitate to help. Hina however knew her friend and had no doubt in her mind that the match wouldn’t last long and that Mei would consider it nothing more than a warm up.
With his friends’ fist being held in some kind of black shadow, one of the shorter drunks decided to straight towards Mei “Rookie mistake” she giggled. Mei extended the so called shadow all over his body and moved him so that he stood directly in front of her, with him in the ideal position she shifted so that she was side on with the man and swiftly kicked out her leg which she reinforced with her mist and parked it in the man’s stomach. She kicked him with such force that his body shoot backwards directly at his friend who was still running at full speed, the two collided and left the pair groaning in pain on the floor, leaving only one cocky bastard left.
The one left finished off his beer and smashed it against the table with a smug grin across his face. Mei was marked by uncontrollable excitement at the idea of wiping said smile off his face. Both Kirishima and Bakugou carefully observed each and every one of Mei’s moves, while Kirishima stared in awe Bakugou’s gaze was more focused on carefully analysing her moves for future fights. Mei pondered whether she should use her quirk or not, ultimately she decided against using it as she’d already been too flashy about it and since she didn’t have her Hero License yet she risked getting into substantial trouble. So instead of waiting for him to run to her she made her way over to him at full speed and slid between the drunks’ legs only for him to spin and get a face full of Mei’s fist.
She grabbed a handful of his shirt and dragged him over towards his other 2 friends who were now sitting up and holding their heads between their knees, in an attempt to make their heads stop spinning. She threw him and crouched until she was level with the drunks.
“Okay fuckwads now listen and listen well if having your asses handed to you by me wasn’t bad enough, my classmate over there is always itching to beat the shit out of someone so if I were to tell him to finish the job he would be over here in a second. So please remember in the future that no woman likes to be catcalled and if you ever so much as try to hit one there will be a group of people ready to beat the shit out of you” Mei spat with as much venom in her voice as she could muster.
The cowards kept their eyes locked on Mei, once she finished and told them to fuck off they got up and ran off so quickly that if this were a cartoon they would’ve left their clothes behind. Once they were gone Mei returned to her friends and Bakugou, Hina met Mei with a quick embrace while Kirishima rambled on about how manly her fighting was. Whereas the only thing Bakugou could come up with was “It took you too long to finish them off”
“Fuck you, you asshole, Hina and I will be leaving now in that case, bye Kirishima I’ll see you in class” Mei scoffed and dragged Hina away from the pair.
“Damn I know you said he was an ass but I honestly thought you were exaggerating, like when you were fighting he kept complaining about your technique” Hina mentioned
“Of course he did, he’s just mad because he knows I would kick his ass in a second” she responded getting a laugh out of Hina as the pair re-joined arms and walked back to Hina’s house. Instead of coming inside Mei left her friend and explained she just wanted to head home, Hina of course being the understanding person she was told Mei to message her once she go home. After that Mei decided to take the long scenic route home, which made the 20 minute journey between their houses a 1h30min long one.
She was about halfway through her walk which consisted of walking on the long path with the view of the lake on one side and the blaring city on the other. It was far enough from the city where the loud noises of taxi’s and people yelling sounded like faint whispers in the background. She enjoyed any quiet time she could get as life with her friends and family sometimes because excruciatingly loud.
“Mei is that you?” She heard a quiet voice yell out. As her eyes focused she saw a trio standing and waving at her, it was Midoriya, Uraraka and Iida.
“Hey guys what’s up?” She said as she rushed over to her friends.
“We were just walking and we saw- WHOA MEI your fist is all bloody what happened” Izuku yelled out as Mei noticed that she did in fact have blood on her hand, it was strange that she didn’t notice it beforehand.
“Oh yeah it’s nothing these drunk guys were cat calling me and my friend, then they tried to hit me so I gave them a knuckle sandwich, no biggie” Mei explained while wiping her hands on her red and black cargo pants in order to try and get the blood off.
“No biggie that seems like a pretty huge biggie if you ask me!” Uraraka exclaimed as her wide eyes seemed to somehow get bigger.
“I am obligated to agree with Ochaco it does seem like a big deal, though I am glad you don’t seem injured” his hands seemed to do his signature Iida gestures.
“Yeah no I’m absolutely fine thanks though guys. What are you up to anyway?” Mei questioned.
“We just went on a walk and now we’re headed to chill at my house want to join us?” Izuku asked.
“Oh I would love to but I’m just going to head home, long day and all that, but next time you meet up and want me there just hit me up and I’ll be there” Mei beamed and began heading back in her original direction. The trio said a quick ‘Bye Mei’ and continued walking and laughing towards Izuku’s house.
Thank god that’s over I just want to go home and sleep Mei thought to herself, she loved those guys but after having to deal with the drunks and Bakugou her mood was ruined and her social battery was drained. One more conversation with someone and she just might implode. She had half an hour left on her walk, she could make it that long without seeing anyone she knows right? Oh how wrong she was as out of the corner of her eye she saw Shinsou walking along the busy street with his airpods in and hands in his pockets. She didn’t want to talk to him but if she did end up talking to him maybe she wouldn’t implode, after all conversations with him always seemed to slow without her having to force niceties as she might have to with others. Their eyes met and Mei let out a small smile and he responded with a wave before looking both ways as he crossed the street to reach her.
“Hey Mei-Mei what you doing here” Shinsou asked with his silk like voice.
“We’ll it seems the one time I leave my house I manage to run into everyone I know” Mei said as she indicated the way she was heading to which Shinsou nodded and started walking in time with Mei.
“Oh and here I was thinking I was special and the only person you ran into, damn might as well leave now” he scoffed pretending to act hurt.
“You may not be the only one but honestly you’re my favourite one, first it was a bunch of drunks that I had to deal with while on my walk with Hina, then Kirishima and Bakugou crashed my party and literally 15 minutes ago I had to talk to 3 more classmates on my way home” Mei ranted.
“I have so many questions I don’t even know where to begin, want to elaborate about these drunks that interrupted you and Hina did you say?” Shinsou asked.
“Yes her name is Hina and basically 3 six foot dudes cat called us and then picked a fight with me so I had to beat the fuck out of them and while I was in the process of doing so Bakugou tried to join in but I threw his ass on the ground before he could, that bit was kinda funny not going to lie” Mei chuckled.
“You beat the shit out of 3 drunk guys and put the loud mouth exploding kid on his ass? Jesus just how strong is your quirk?” Shinsou said clearly spooked.
“Hey even if I didn’t have my quirk I could easily beat them, I’m a kick ass lady with a powerful punch!” Mei was offended by his doubt in her so she playfully punched his arm.
“Oh believe me I’m starting to figure out that you’re not to be messed with, what is your quirk anyway?” He asked.
“Oh it’s called Reality Warping, basically anything I imagine I can make happen and my preferred sub-section of my quirk is energy manipulation because I can use these bad boys in a bunch of different ways. Oh and I almost forgot I also use telepathy often” She said while raising her palm and had the black energy to completely cover her hand, she then changed its appearance to become a ball and then she created a black butterfly which floated onto Shinsou’s nose.
“Holy shit that’s so cool even if butterflies are creepy as shit and does this mean you can read my mind” His compliment made her feel as though she had a handful of those butterflies floating around her insides.
“Oh how you flatter me oh dearest one, but what kind of weirdo finds butterflies creepy and no I can’t read your mind I can just talk to you in it now what’s your quirk?” Mei was beginning to get curious.
“Hold on I still have one question left to ask” Shinsou insisted, Mei raised her eyebrows in a way which implied she wanted him to continue.
“You said you had to talk to classmates, do you not like them or something?” He emphasised the had part of the sentence.
“Oh no no I absolutely adore them, I would literally die for them. My social battery is just drained and I’m in a bad mood” Mei quickly responded.
“Damn you talk this much when you’re drained and in a bad mood? I’d hate to talk to you when you’re pumped and in want of a conversation. I can leave you here if you want so you can go back to brooding” Shinsou joked.
“Nah I actually enjoy talking to you, if it’s of any use to you, you’ve actually managed to alleviate my bad mood slightly, now it’s time to answer my question purple boy” Mei retorted.
“Ah yes my quirk, the one thing that’s going to scare you away and make me lose a friend, how fun” Shinsou’s whole mood seemed to drop as he knew what was about to happen because he’d experienced it a bunch of times before”
Confused Mei asked what he meant by that and he explained how his whole childhood everyone hated him because of his quirk which they all said was perfect for a villain, it was at this point Mei was dying to know what his quirk was. Mei couldn’t help but boil with anger because of how awful her friend must’ve felt as a child, the social isolation itself must’ve been a killer and that’s not even counting the bullying he got from his peers. As he was finishing up his story she reached over, grabbed his hand and gave it a slight squeeze to tell him that she empathetic of his situation and that she had no intention of being like the others.
“Basically my quirk is called Brainwashing and whenever someone answers a question I ask them I gain complete control over them.” He quietly muttered.
“THAT SHIT IS COOL AS FUCK OMG WHAT THE FUCK MY DUDE WHY WOULD THEY SAY THAT, OMG CAN YOU PLEASE USE IT ON ME I WANT TO SEE WHAT IT FEELS LIKE” Mei said as she grabbed Shinsou’s other hand and bounced up and down with such adoration in her eyes. At seeing her response to his quirk he couldn’t help but let out a sign of relief before smiling brightly at her for the first time.
“You must be even crazier than I thought if you want me to use my quirk on you” he chuckled.
“Number 1 never tell a woman she’s crazy and 2 with a fucking quirk like that who wouldn’t want you to use it on them, so will you please please PLEASEEEEE” Mei begged.
“Fine but let’s go sit on the grass just in case something happens” He said as he pulled Mei into the nearby park. He finally found a nice spot for them to sit at so he let go of her hand, took a seat and gestured for her to sit across from him.
“Are you sure you want me to do this?” Shinsou was nervous, she had accepted him so far but this could be the thing that changed her view on him.
“I’ve never been more sure of anything in my life, do it buddy” Mei exclaimed before she felt her control of her body drain from her as if it were being sucked out with a straw. Her face went completely blank and her hands fell to her side as though she lost all her energy.
“Pull your hair” Shinsou instructed and Mei had no choice but to obey. At first he made her do a bunch of stupid shit like run around making chicken noises and he got her to make him a dandelion crown. His last command before he released her was something he was dying to know. “Tell me what you really think of me”
“I think you’re one of the coolest people I’ve ever met, you’re so easy to talk to that I can already see us becoming bestest friends in like a day.” Shinsou felt himself glowing with happiness as he knew she couldn’t lie while under his control. He finally had a friend who liked him even after finding out what his quirk was.
Just as Mei finished her sentence she felt her quirk tingling through her fingers. She never really noticed what her power felt like in her body but now that she experienced life without the feeling coursing through her veins, she couldn’t imagine life without it. “That felt so weird and you’re such an asshole for making me run like a chicken!”
“I’m sorry I couldn’t help myself, it was the best thing that’s happened to me all day, not that there’s much competition I should probably walk you home now” Shinsou responded.
“Oh shit want to talk about your day on the way back, and alright let’s go my dude” Mei got up and extended her hand to Shinsou, he took her hand and they headed on their way as Mei led them to her house.
“There’s not much to say about it, General Studies is stupid and I hate it, my classmates even more so and the people on the hero course are all pompous assholes, well not you obviously but your class and 1-B” Shinsou complained.
“You should definitely be in the hero course, the entrance exam was such bullshit since it was robots and not actual villains, there’s this weird grape kid in my class that you should totally replace. I haven’t met people in 1-B but I can tell you that most of 1-A is pretty chill.” Mei responded and the pair continued walking towards her house. Once they arrived Mei offered to teleport Shinsou to his house but needed to see a picture of it first, he kindly declined her offer and said he didn’t mind the walk back. With a final goodbye Mei told him to text her once he’s home safe and Shinsou headed off on his way, which prompted Mei to check her phone to see that she had some notifications.
