With Kenji gone she didn’t have anyone to spar with so Mei really couldn’t be bothered to get out of bed, she hated the idea of Kenji being right about something. Reluctantly she stood up and readied herself for her run, instead of a 5K she decided to double it just so that she’d have something to do to occupy her time. In order to spice up her life a little she decided to take a different route “Oh how sad my life must be that choosing a different route to run is ‘adding spice’” Mei huffed to herself.
The run was going well, she was 7K into it meaning she was now heading back home when out of the corner of her eye she saw a familiar wad of blonde hair. There was only one blonde that she knew who was dedicated enough to be out on a run at 6:30am, Bakugou. As she speed up and approached the boy she noticed he was wearing all black and the only bit of colour he sported was a white skull printed on his vest top.

Witch bitch? Where the fuck are you and why are you stalking me again. Bakugou asked while looking around and eventually locking eyes with Mei, who was wearing black jogging bottoms, a navy sports bra (with a regular black bra underneath because everyone needs extra support) and multi-coloured running shoes.
Again with the stalking accusation, I do live here you know you ass. Mei sent across the mind-link as although she walked towards him, she was still too far away from Bakugou to talk to him directly without having to shout.
“You may live here but I run here every day at this time and I’ve never fucking seen you before. So explain why the fuck you’re here before I kill you” Bakugou threatened.
“I don’t have to explain myself to you if I want to run here im going to fucking run here” Mei retorted as she could see the frustration building on his face. ‘God its fun to piss him off’ she thought to herself while trying to suppress a smile even though every muscle in her face was already starting to contort.

“Fine if you really must know, you nosey prick, my brother is away and since I usually spar with him I had nothing better to do. So I decided to turn my 5K into a 10K and run somewhere else, then a saw someone else running and I thought hmm who’s stupid enough to be running at this time in the morning” she said as the explosions stopped going off from his palms.
“You realised you’re also running at this time so you just fucking called yourself stupid?”
“Well yes I realised as soon as I said it, anyway um since my brother is gone for a week do you want to come to my house and be my sparring partner?” Mei asked the boy hopefully.
“No” he retorted as he ran off without giving Mei an explanation for the decline, all she could think about was how much of a prick he was.
Mei didn’t really care though, it was only a week without a partner, and she could easily manage by herself. Who knew maybe she would find herself a different partner, someone who wasn’t as much of an asshole as Bakugou. Once she got home she trained her quirk as she normally did, her main focus as always was to created chains strong enough that no villain could break them. Every time she tried to create new ones he brother cut through them. Sometimes it took a second and other times it took a few minutes of constant water drilling, but he always managed to break them. Mei’s was eternally surprised that he managed to break them as her whole quirk was based around her not abiding the laws of nature, when she imagined the chains nothing could break them, but somehow their unbreakable nature got lost in translation.
When she got frustrated by her quirk not working as she wanted it to she stepped through a portal into a small world of her own creation. After all what good was Reality Warping if she couldn’t make her own world. It wasn’t anything big and wild, just a small patch of green grass surrounded by a ring of trees and flowers as far as the eye could see. Before her stood a waterfall with a small body of water under it, to make it truly perfect she heated the clear water ever so slightly just so it didn’t feel as though she was stepping into an ice bath whenever she dipped in. There were tiny bunnies roaming all around the grounds and birds in the trees singing sweet tunes that just seemed to make Mei’s worries fade into the distance.
Though it was her own private domain she made it a habit to bring her loved ones there to show them. It drained a lot of energy transporting herself there so when she decided to only go there for an hour or so she would bring Hina, Kenji or one of her parents with her just to make sure she didn’t pass out and die. However for her longer stays she went by herself for some peace and quiet and at that point if she needed to get away so badly she didn’t care if she was out cold for hours or even days.
Despite her annoyance at her inability to create the chains she wanted, the rest of Mei’s morning went as smoothly. She did her normal routine which consisted of; breakfast, boarding a train while sticking up a middle finger at Bakugou, meeting up with the rest of the crew as they all got off their own trains and making their way to school while laughing at some stupid thing Kaminari said.
“That is honestly one of the dumbest thigs I think you’ve ever said Kami” Mei laughed.
“Hey I’m just saying there has got to be someone out there whose quirk is to make bananas that people slip on!” Kaminari tried defending himself.
“Nah bro just give up there’s no convincing us you’re not stupid” Sero said which earned him a small electric shock on his neck from Kaminari. By the time they arrived news reporters had already swarmed them and began asking questions about All Might as a teacher. The gang got themselves in a triangle formation and waded their way through with Bakugou in front, Mei and Kirishima behind him, with Sero, Mina and Kaminari at the back. Kirishima obviously being the gentleman he is held on to Mei’s hand and asked if she’s okay, she gave his hand a quick squeeze and set up a mind-link between the two of them and reassured him that shes fine. Just like everyone else he had a bunch of questions which she answered while the two gave each other quick smiles and carried on walking.
Mei heard some brunette reporter say “Hey aren’t you that kid from the sludge villain attack?”
“Walk away” Bakugou spat as he cleared he crowd of reporters. Mei locked her eyes on him as she doubted anyone else heard the reporter.
Sludge villain? What was that about Bakugou?

He turned and looked straight at her with hate in his eyes “I said mind your own fucking business are you that stupid that you don’t understand?!” Mei just stood there with crossed arms as Kirishima and Kaminari followed Bakugou who rushed off toward their classroom.
“Well someone definitely shat in his breakfast because he wasn’t in this bad of a mood this morning” Mei continued walking with Sero and Mina to her locker.
“You saw him this morning? OOOO a little walk of shame?” Mina joked.
“Number 1 you’re vile as if he would be interested in anyone apart from himself, 2 I was on a run and I bumped into him, finally number 3 he hates me and i can't stand him” she shoved Mina away from her, and saw Shinsou at his locker. With a quick goodbye and a quizzical look from the pair she made her way over to him.
She stood behind the boy and tapped his shoulder, evidently he wasn’t too bothered by the action as he carried on putting his belongings in his locker. Once he finished he turned to see Mei staring at him with a smile, “Long time no see my guy”
“It hasn’t been that long but it is nice to see someone smile in this school” Shinsou retorted.
“It’s been a couple of weeks! Since I don’t have your number its felt like even longer. I wouldn’t want my first friend at this school to forget about me now would I?” she continued smiling at the boy
“You definitely throw the word friend around loosely, we had one conversation but we’ll have to change that so give me your phone and I’ll give you my number” he smirked as he saw the girl reach into her pocket to take out her phone. As he finished typing the bell rung for first lesson to start.
“Remember you gave me your number so when I start messaging you 24/7, I don’t want to hear any complaints from you” She said while she started walking away toward her class.
“I look forward to it” Shinsou murmured as he put his hands in his pockets, smiling to himself about the girl who seemed very eager to be his friend. Before he got too excited about it he reminded himself that as soon as she found out about his quirk she would see him as a villain and hate him, this made him determined to keep his quirk a secret for as long as possible.
In the 1-A Classroom Aizawa announced that the class needed to elect a class representative. But of course no Dadzawa speech was complete without him scolding his students. “Bakugou you’re obviously talented stop wasting it by going overboard on a classmate. Midoriya if you can’t use your quirk without breaking your body, I don’t want to hear any more excuses. Todoroki no matter how strong you are, you will need help from others so you either accept it or get out of my class. Finally Seki next time you use excessive violence on a team mate I won’t be as lenient as All Might, I will suspend you on the spot no matter how good your reasoning may be.” All the students who got their own personal Aizawa ass whooping gave curt nods and a ‘Yes sir’ after he finished their portion.
Everyone in the class got their own ballot slip and to no one’s surprise most of the students voted for themselves. The front runners were Midoriya with 3 votes and Momo with 2 and to that obviously Bakugou had something to say “WHO THE FUCK VOTED FOR SHITTY DEKU”
“Bakugou you’re only mad because the only vote you got was you own, are you really surprised no one voted for you since you're the most unlikable person here” Mei interjected while grabbing the back of his jacket in an unsuccessful attempt to get him seated.
“Shut the fuck up you voted for yourself as well, you can’t talk and don't say i'm unlikable when everyone thinks you're an annoying bitch” he growled in the direction of the seated girl.
“Actually I didn’t I voted for Iida, he already acts like the president so he might as well receive the title, so I have no idea who voted for me” Mei objected his accusation.
A strong voice broke the silence in the room “I voted for you”
“Iida? Why did you vote for me and holy shit we voted for each other, great minds think alike am I right my dude?” Mei exclaimed as she walked towards her classmate with a fist extended before her.
Iida obviously being himself didn’t fist bump the girl, instead he took her hand and shook it. “From what I’ve seen at the entrance exam and since the start of the year your confidence in yourself mixed with your desire to work well in a team makes you the perfect leader!”
Mei wasn’t sure how to respond to that apart from a sincere thank you and a very wide smile. Aizawa then released the class for lunch, something for which everyone was grateful for. Everyone made their way to the cafeteria where the smells of Lunch Rush’s creations filled the air, once they filled their trays the members of the Baku-squad made their way over to their table and began eating and conversing.
“But you haven’t even let me finish” Mei cried.
“There is not a fucking chance that I will wear a group Halloween costume with you dipshit extras” Bakugou concluded.
“Bro why not we would be the most badass squad in the school!” Kaminari exclaimed as he heard a ‘tch’ erupt from Bakugou’s lips.
“Hold the fucking phone, Kami did you seriously just imply that we’re not the most badass group in school?!” with a puff Mina said.
“Dude I’m hurt im not going to lie” Sero voiced
“Me too bros, but can we get back to Mei’s costume idea, I want to hear it!” Kirishima said while looking over at Mei, nodding his head as a gesture that she should continue.
“It’s going to fucking suck like all her ideas” interrupted the hot head.
“Literally shut the fuck up Bakugou i seriously doubt anyone would want to spend Halloween with you, right basically my first idea, and this is just a suggestion, was a case of 6 beers in one container!” Mei preached, the rest of the group took a moment of silence and then mumbled about how they agreed with Bakugou that her idea did in fact suck. Feeling all kinds of betrayed Mei was going to yell at her friends saying how they hurt her in so many unimaginable ways, before being rudely interrupted by a blaring alarm.
Everyone in the cafeteria panicked and started evacuating the hall at once which lead to people getting crushed in the lunch hall turned mosh pit. After the initial chaos of Mei being separated from her friends she herself being pulled from the majority of the crowed by a purple haired sleep deprived boy whose height meant that he towered over most people in the room. The two were interrupted from their pending escape as Iida managed to get himself up on an emergency exit sign and screamed that it was just the media and that everyone should stop panicking and return to their seats.
The atmosphere now settled as most students heeded Iidas advice and did in fact return to their tables, Mei’s friend group being among those now seated. However Mei and Shinsou were still stood in the middle of the cafeteria holding hands having a conversation. Which left her friends with many questions as this was now the second time that day Mei was seen with the mysterious boy.
“You just can’t seem to get away from me today, if I didn’t know any better I’d say you’re obsessed with me” Shinsou bragged.
“I would be obligated to agree with you if it weren’t for the fact you were still holding my hand, so maybe you’re the one who’s obsessed” she gazed down to the pairs interlocked hands, though Shinsou’s hands were much larger than Mei’s so her hands seemed to completely drown in his.
“Ah we’ll you do seem to be right, I’m just glad I got to you in time and that you’re okay” he murmured.
“I’m a big girl I can look after myself, I don’t need you to be my knight in shining armour you know, that being said I am thankful that you found me during that” she squeezed his hand as she heard her name being called out, the pair looked across to see her friends waving their hands and gesturing for her to come over, “ah I should probably get over back to them otherwise they’ll come over and embarrass me.”
“Ashamed of me are you now?” Shinsou questioned as he abruptly released her hand.
“Ashamed of you? Oh my god of course not, its them im ashamed of if you do want to meet them I’d love to introduce you as long as you promise me not to judge me too harshly for them!” Mei insisted.
“No it’s fine I’ll get going, goodbye cupcake” he smiled sweetly at the girl as he began to walk away. Once he was gone Mei made her way over to the table and told Kaminari to move his fat ass. His only response to that was saying to Mei “Finally someone appreciates my thicc juicy ass” and once the laughter at the table died down Mina asked if that guy was her boyfriend.
“No” was the only response Mei gave
“Sooo like who is he?” Kirishima questioned
“He’s the love of my life, my soulmate, the apple of my eye and my only reason to live. Ladies and Gentlemen may I introduce you to Hitoshi Shinsou of the General Studies.” Mei announced, the table once again returning to complete silence as all eyes were on Mei and the food Kaminari had previously been shovelling into his mouth, now fell out. “A joke that was a joke guys he’s just my friend who I met at the entrance exams”
“He must be a fucking weakling if he ended up in general studies like the fucking extra he is” Bakugou simply stated.
“Get fucked you asshole, not everyone can have a powerful quirk like you. You don’t even deserve it with your stank ass personality, god you're literally the worst person i've ever met and i seriously hope you get kicked out of the hero course so he can take your place!” Mei slammed her fists into the table causing a dent to form as she rose from her seat and walked away. The rest of the day went pretty easily and once Mei got home she took her phone out to see she had received multiple texts.
