An unexpected Ally
The next day came soon enough. It was bright, another lovely morning.
Laughing children (and a screaming one), flooded through the bedroom doors and into the dining halls. Everyone was soon seated within; plates were laid out. Mama was there too, as she cuddled the infants and sat them in their chairs. All except for one.
Midoriya continued to stay in bed. Even though he had heard the breakfast bell ring. Even though he knew the others would soon come looking for him. He knew.
But the was boy frozen stiff. He was scared. He was terrified. Why? Well the answer to that was simple enough. An answer Izuku still refused to accept even though the proof was laid before him. After, all Mama loved them. Mama loved them from the very depths of her heart. She cared for them, she gave them kisses and hugs, she loved them. Or was all of that just a lie? Empty actions and words with horrific emotions and unknown feelings concealed within them. The boy remained motionless, as tiny tears rolled down his freckled, innocent face. Had Mama hated them all along, enough to ship them of as produce? To some unidentifiable, dark mysterious creatures. Another transparent glob of water made its way down his cheek. More then scared, the boy was heartbroken. He loved Mama. Had mama never loved him?
“Izuku?”
The boy turned towards the source of the voice, drowsily. However, he was soon snapped out of his daze on seeing who it was exactly. Izuku desperately tried to smother his grief and fear as his mother walked towards him slowly, a concerned expression dawned on her face.
“Izuku, did you not hear the breakfast bell? what’s wrong? You look a little pale” she muttered as she circled her arms around the other and pulled the boy closer towards her. The boy trembled uncontrollably despite his frantic attempts to hide his fear.
“Izuku?” Even though he couldn’t see his Mama’s face he could feel her gaze narrowing down on him, her suspicion glaringly obvious in her tone. The boy forced himself to relax once more as he looked up at his mother an honest smile on his lips.
“Sorry Mama. It was another nightmare. I just couldn’t sleep.”
“Oh, my poor little baby”, his mother crooned, and her expression was soft and loving. “You usually come to me, what happened?”
Izuku smiled genuinely and happily. That’s right. Mama loved him. Mama would never let any demon eat him, if by any chance they existed at all. But deep down there, somewhere his instincts screamed.
Don’t believe her. Don’t. Tell someone. Run.
The food looked good. Izuku just didn’t have the appetite. Not because he believed that he was going to be consumed by someone else. Its because he didn’t feel like eating. That’s all.
The boy forced another bite of food into his mouth. He glanced up at Mama who was currently feeding Uraraka and then looked back down at his plate.
Mama loves us, Mama loves us, Mama loves u-
“Oi Deku!”
Izuku gasped and snapped his head towards the other. Bakugou managed to silence him with a fierce glare. Izuku relaxed, but only a little.
The ash blonde boy stood before him awkwardly his lips pursed in a nervous line.
“I have something to tell you.”
The boys stood in silence. Izuku felt awkward.
The other boy never really talked to him unless he wanted to insult him. The greenette grimaced at the thought. They should really work on making their relationship better.
“Mama,” Izuku turned towards the other startled unsure of what the other was about to say.
Bakugou took a shaky breath.
“Mama has been hiding the fact that we have powers. Things called quirks. And." The other boy hesitated but continued to speak."She's been breeding us to feed us of to demons this whole time."
Izuku wasn’t sure what to say next.
Words denying the statement got stuck in his throat. Izuku felt like he was choking. But he knew now. He knew that last night wasn’t his imagination. He knew.
So, instead the boy looked up, his eyes heavy with tears and his heart burdened with grief.
“I know Kaachan. I know”
