Chapter 9
Game night went smoothly after Monopoly. Kara and Lena were a great team when it came to pictionary and charades, and everyone was shocked at how they were getting everything correct, even with very poor drawings and awful descriptions that no one else could even begin to understand.
Everyone started to leave at around 11:30 that evening, and in the end (after all the hugs goodbye) only Lena was still in Kara's apartment.
"Do you want to watch a movie?" Kara asked, hoping that Lena would agree so that she could spend more time with her friend.
Lena hesitated for a second before answering. "I would like that, Kara." Lena made hot chocolate while Kara chose what they were going to watch. She chose The Lion King, and sat on the sofa with a blanket waiting for Lena. When she returned, she handed Kara a mug, and she sat down under the blanket with a mug of hot chocolate in her own hand. They watched the movie and drank their hot chocolate. When Lena cried while they were watching the movie, she threatened Kara. "Don't you dare tell anyone about this."
"Don't worry, your secret's safe with me." Kara chuckled, before hugging Lena. By the end, Lena and Kara had both fallen asleep.
Kara woke up to someone knocking on the door. She was disorientated at first. When she saw that Lena was cuddled up next to her, she remembered the previous night. "Lena." She said quietly, trying to wake her up.
The continuous knocking got louder. "KARA, OPEN UP!" Kara realised that it was Alex on the other side of the door. The shouting had woken Lena, and she quickly untangled herself from Kara by sitting up on the sofa. Kara rushed to open the door before Alex could break it down. "What took you so long?" Alex asked before walking through the door.
"I was asleep." Kara replied. Alex noticed Lena and raised her eyebrow at her sister. "We watched a movie after everyone left. We must have fallen asleep while watching." She explained.
"I should go.” Lena said as she walked towards where Kara and Alex were standing by the door. “Thank you, Kara.” She hugged Kara before stepping towards the door. “Bye, Alex.”
Once Lena was gone, Alex found some plates and set out breakfast for them both. They talked for a while about how work at CatCo was for Kara, and how Alex and Kelly’s relationship was going.
“I think you should tell Kelly that I’m Supergirl.” Kara blurted. Alex was shocked. Kara continued before she could say anything. “She’s your girlfriend. I don’t want you to wait too long to tell her and then have the risk of her being mad at you, at us for not telling her sooner. I was so scared to tell Lena and a lot of that was because of how long I waited before doing it. I don’t want my secret to ruin your relationship with her. And anyway, I trust her and I will always protect her, Alex.”
Alex launched herself over to hug her sister. “Thank you. And I’m sorry we all encouraged you to keep it from Lena.”
“I know. Just tell Kelly.” Kara replied.
"I will. Thanks, Kara."
