Tamaki/Reader - You're My Hero
Tamaki took his shoes off at the door, calling for you. When you didn't respond, his heart jumped into his throat. What if something happened to you? You were always home before he was. He checked his phone, breathing out in relief when he saw a text from you saying you would be home late. He sighed, stripping off his hero costume and hopping in the shower. Once he was finished, he did some cleaning around the house and then started making dinner. Two hours after he got home, you opened the front door. "H-hey bunny. I'm almost done with dinner," he called, turning around to see you. You hummed in acknowledgment before heading towards the bathroom. He heard the shower turn on and went back to cooking, worried. Something was wrong, he just didn't know what. "Bunny, dinner is done!" he called out a couple minutes later, starting to set your plates. He heard the shower turn off, but you still didn't say anything. You came out of the bedroom, wearing sweatpants, one of his hoodies, and your glasses. Your blonde hair was falling down your shoulders, still damp from the shower. You sat down across from him at your small table, starting to eat in silence. You seemed deep in thought, and he let you think. After you finished eating, you collected the dishes and starting cleaning them. He stared at you, extremely concerned. You were normally very talkative, and it was extremely out of the ordinary for you to be silent. You had told him at the beginning of your relationship that in the past, you distanced yourself from everyone whenever you had a bad day or started to get overwhelmed, but even then you still talked. He had never experienced that in your relationship, and he had hoped to never see it.
"Bunny, are you okay?" he asked quietly from the table. You paused in your washing, hanging your head low. Your shoulders started to shake, and you let out a sob before you crumpled to the floor, bawling. He rushed over to you, kneeling down to see you with your knees to your chest and your soapy hands in your hair, sobbing. He sat down on the floor and pulled you into his arms, gently stroking your hair as you clenched your fists into his shirt, wetting it with tears. "Y-you're okay, bunny," he murmured, rubbing your back. "I-I couldn't sa-save them Tamaki," you bawled. His eyes widened as it clicked in his head. You were a rescue hero at Hawks's agency, and there had been a villain with a size quirk that let them either shrink or grow. The villain had grown to Mt. Lady's size and knocked down a building. Heroes arrived on the scene, and the villain was caught, but due to the destruction and the explosion that had happened inside of the building, none of the civilians were able to be saved. The news didn't mention the agency involved and it hadn't clicked that it was your agency. He held you tighter as you cried. "I co-couldn't save a-anyone Tamaki, no one. So many people that depended on me and I couldn't do anything-" you were cut off by another sob wracking your body. "I-I'm not a hero," you whimpered, tears streaming down your face. He kissed the top of your head, it breaking his heart to hear you talk about yourself like this. "You are a hero, bunny. You work harder than anyone I know, and you've saved so many people and made so many lives better," he said. "That doesn't make me a hero," you mumbled.
"Y/N. Listen to me. You've given so many p-people their lives back. You've given children their mothers, fathers their sons, s-sisters their bothers, wives their spouses, and so much m-more. You've saved lives around th-the country, and not only those of the victim's, but their f-families' lives as well. Even m-me. You've saved me, bunny. You've helped me break out of my shell and become the h-hero I've always wanted to be, y-your hero. You've changed my l-life, helping me become who I am today from the shy high schooler who c-couldn't look anyone in the eye. Of course, social anxiety doesn't just g-go away like that, but you've given me courage, bunny. You make m-me want to be better, make me want to b-be the best man I can for you. You've s-saved our friends' lives during the villain attacks, and even Aizawa that one ti-time. You've helped s-so many people around you. You're a hero to so m-many out there, including me, bunny," he said gently. You held onto his shirt, not saying anything as you calmed down. "Thank you," you quietly whispered. He picked you bridal style from the floor and carried you into your room, gently setting you down onto the bed. He walked into the master bathroom and came out with a warm, washcloth, which he used to gently wipe the tear tracks off of your face. He pressed a kiss to your forehead before taking off his short and throwing that into the laundry basket along with the washcloth. You slowly slid off you sweatpants, smiling gratefully when he put them with his clothes. He climbed into bed with you, turning on the television and listening to whatever was on as he held you in his arms. He stroked your hair and listened to your breathing even out as you fell asleep, which took about an hour. He reached over to the remote to turn the television off before falling asleep as well.
He woke up to you thrashing in the bed, whimpering and crying. "Y/N. Y/N, wake up," he said, gently shaking you awake. You opened your eyes and looked at him, starting to cry again. He understood the nightmares and the look in your eyes. He wrapped you up into his arms and whispered to you until you fell asleep, securely wrapped in his arms.
***BONUS - NEXT MORNING***
You woke up to the sunlight filtering through your window and the smell of your favorite breakfast. You opened your eyes to see a tray on your night table with said breakfast. You sat up, rubbing at your eyes. Your face felt dry and your eyes felt puffy, but that was okay. You lifted the tray and put it on your lap, smiling. You noticed there was a note, and you lifted it to see better.
Good morning bunny. I hope you like the breakfast I made for you. Don't worry about the dishes and chores for today, I already got them done. If I'm not in bed with you yet, that means I'm still at the store. I should be home soon. Please eat and drink the water I put by your bedside. I love you - Tamaki.
Your heart swelled at the note, and you put it on the table before you started eating. You downed the water, too invested in your food to hear the front door close. "Bunny, I'm home," Tamaki called. He walked into your shared room, holding a bag of things. "Hey Tamaki. Thanks for breakfast," you said, smiling up at him. He smiled back, relieved that you seemed back to normal. "I'm g-glad, bunny," he said, going to sit by your legs on the side of the bed. "Whatcha got there?" you asked, nodding towards the bag as you took another bite of food. He set the bag on the bed and laid out face masks, a cooling gel mask for your eyes, pain medication, and some other little things. "Why'd you get all this?" you asked, furrowing your eyebrows. "Y-you deserve a day," Tamaki said, blushing. "I already called in to b-both of our agencies and took the rest o-of the week off. I-if that's okay," he said, fiddling with his thumbs. You smiled, giving him a kiss. "It's perfect. Thank you Tamaki," you said, taking another bite of your food. "I love you so much," you said, looking into his eyes. He blushed and smiled. "I l-love you too, bunny."
