Spooktober 4. Sam & Bucky
Bucky was bored and decided to go for a walk. He looked across the apartments and stores advertising for Halloween. After a while, he was about to turn back but he saw a thrift shop. In curiosity, he opened the door and walked through it. In the very back was a doll in a glass case. It said it was a haunted doll. Bucky thought it would be a funny joke and tried to scare Sam with it. So he went to the front. "Ma'am I would like to buy that haunted doll in the back."
Her eyes widened and her gaze snapped to Bucky. "Are you sure about that sir?"
"Yes, I'm sure." She gave a warily nod. Before she grabbed the keys. They walked back and she opened the case. She motioned for Bucky to grab it. He did and they went back to the counter where he paid for it. "Good luck"
Bucky tilted his head confused but nodded. Ghosts and stuff being haunted didn't sound real. He doubted it was haunted. Just to get it sold. So he went to the next store and bought Halloween decorations. Before he broke into Sam's place and decorated it. Then he placed the doll on the couch. It blended in with how creepy it was. Then he took off to his own place. Later on, his phone was going off. He smirked when the caller read 'Bird.'
"Hello."
"What the hell Barnes!"
"It's the season. It's not my fault you didn't decorate. I didn't have anything to do. Be thankful."
"Why is there a doll on my kitchen counter? She's creepy. Black hair sprawled all over."
Bucky paused for a moment. He was sure he left the doll on the couch. What the hell was Sam going on about?
"Yeah right bird brain. She is on the couch. I left her there."
"No, she's in the kitchen. I see what you are doing. Scaring me won't work." Then Sam hung up.
Sam turned and looked at the creepy doll. She sent a shiver up his spine. He felt like she was watching him with those dead gray eyes. But brushed it off.
But strange things happened with that doll. He remembered her being in one place. When he would wake up or arrive home she would be somewhere different. He thought Bucky was still trying to scare him and was breaking in to move her. Till one night he heard tiny footsteps. He grumbled and reached for his phone. He expected to hear Bucky's phone going off. But he didn't and Bucky answered.
"What Sam? It's three in the morning. It better be an emergency or so help me." Bucky grumbled sleep evident in his voice.
"Nice acting. You must be talking really quietly. Can you stop messing with me and leave my house? Moving that doll is getting old."
"The hell are you talking about? I'm at my place."
"Like hell. Prove it. I'm face timing you!" Sam clicked the button. Bucky accepted. Sam gasped as he looked at Bucky's bead head and sleepy eyes.
"But then who's in my house?" Just then he heard footsteps at his door. He snapped up and looked. The doll was standing in the doorway. Knife in hand.
"Fuck this." Sam tapped for his suit to assemble. Then the glass shattered as he flew out the window.
"It's alive. What the fuck. Bucky, I need you." Bucky nodded and grabbed his shoes and shirt. Sam watched as he ran out. Sam sat outside until Bucky ran up.
"It's alive. It had a knife. What the fuck."
"I thought it was a joke. The sign said it was haunted."
"It is!"
"Let's get rid of it then." The two went into the house and searched for her. But only a trail of red was in the living room.
