Paternity Leave?
Steve looked around. All of the team was messing around. Thor finished trying a red ribbon in his hair. Then he had Bucky sit in front of him and began messing around with his hair. Until he settled with placing a bow in his hair as well.
Tony was poking around at Bucky's detached arm. Hulk was raiding the kitchen for food. The two people he didn't see were Sam and Clint.
He walked up to Natasha. She looked very concentrated painting her toenails red and black. "Natasha, where are Sam and Clint?"
"They're on paternity leave."
"What?"
"I said they are on paternity leave," Natasha louder this time. Frustrated that he made her lose her concentration.
(Flashback)
Sam and Clint were walking around the forest near Clint's farm hand in hand. They stumbled upon a canary couple laying on the ground. When they realized they had passed they buried them. When they went to leave Clint looked up. A foot above them was a nest.
Carefully Sam lifted Clint. He looked at the eggs and realized t was the canaries. Gently he took the nest down. They went back home and took care of the eggs. Making sure they stood warm and safe.
They called in and explained what happened. They said they had to watch their baby birds. So they were permitted paternity leave. That was a week ago. Today they checked on their babies. Only to find them about to hatch.
Clint had his arm around Sam's waist. They watched together as the first baby hatched out of their egg. They gasped it peeked it was out of the shell. Revealing a cute little ball of yellow. They waited until the other three eggs hatched.
"Our sweet children," Clint said quietly.
"Clint they have your eyes."
"We are dads," Clint said as he turned to tackle hug, Sam.
"Yes, we are. Now let's go get the kids something to eat." Sam helped Clint get up. They went and bought some insects and worms from the pet store. When they go back they feed small pieces to each one.
This is silly but it's cute.
