Tacos
Blake dragged her feet as she walked the last few steps to her front door. She grumbled to herself as she dug through her purse, looking for her keys.
Today had not been her day. Or well...this entire week hadn't been the best. Yang had left last weekend for a last minute assignment and Blake hadn't gotten a full night's sleep since, unaccustomed to sleeping alone. She was exhausted.
Work hadn't been the best either, her editor had been hounding her the last couple days about a piece that isnt due until next week.
Blake groaned as her stomach let out a very audible growl.
And to top it all off, she was absolutely starving!
She had skipped lunch to try and help Sun out on his article, something she had regretted about an hour later when her stomach starting growling in protest.
'Wonder if Maria's is still open? Could just order in.'
Blake sighed while unlocking her door, her cat ears flicking forward as she pushed open the door.
The sound of music and a blender coming from the kitchen instantly hit her ears, causing her brow pinching upwards in confusion. The closer she got, the stronger the scent of Mexican spices became. Instantly bringing a smile to her face and causing her to pick up her speed.
She walked into the kitchen and laughed lightly at the sight in front of her. Yang was dancing around their shared kitchen, moving between chopping up tomatoes, stirring the meat currently cooking on the stovetop, and sipping from what Blake could only guess was a margarita.
"Y-Yang?"
Her girlfriend twirled around with a huge smile on her face before running and sliding across the hardwood and wrapping her up into a hug.
Blake instinctively wrapped her arms around Yang's waist while nuzzling into her neck,
"I thought you weren't going to be back for another couple days"
Yang pressed a soft kiss to her forehead before speaking,
"Ya..well...I knew you were having a rough time so I wrapped things up and opted to come home a few days early."
Blake squeezed her tighter and blinked back some tears. Yang rubbed small soothing circles against Blake's lower back,
"And I'm ever cooking your favorite!"
Blake pulled back slightly, keeping her arms wrapped around her girlfriend, looking up and locking eyes, quirking one eyebrow, questioning,
"Ya? What's that?"
Yang beamed back at her before kissing her forehead again. She pulled back and slipped one hand into Blake's, pulling her farther into the kitchen,
"TACOS!"
