I Not So Gracefully Faceplant

As I am yanked through the door of light I enjoy as the warmth passes over my skin, reheating me from the cold of the ally. Then I fell on my face. I quickly rise to my feet dusting off my clothes and look around. I see dark walls with little lighting, crowds of people moving from place to place, and a door ahead of me. I start to walk towards the door before Tiana gets my attention. "Your meeting is this way Damian" as she speaks I follow. As I approach the room I feel a sense of dread right before I sense intent. I turn around and look but there is no one there, then I look closer. As I do my sight clears and I see this place for what it truly is. It's an abandoned building, like the ones you see in horror films. I see two people watching me, as I see them they realize they have been spotted and vanish. Before I can ask Tiana about that she opens a door and tells me to go inside. When I enter that dread returns and I feel like my lungs are on fire, thirsting for air only to never breathe it again. As I crumble to my knees the lack of air starts to affect my brain. Right as I start to see black spots in my vision the pressure releases and I desperately gasp for air, choking as I breathe again. I look around and spot a figure sitting in a chair. As the person gets up they turn the light on and I see a dark-skinned female with black lipstick, ear piercings, and a spiked choker."That was my bad, I just had a bad phone call. My name is Amaya Hudson and I want you to work with me." I stare at her with disbelief, I wonder what makes her think that I would work with her. "I know that you must be thinking that I am crazy for asking you to join me but it is of great importance that we join forces. You have an ability never seen before, you can access another dimension and that makes you dangerous and very important to our way of life. If G.A.T.S. gets their hands on you then the rest of the world will never stand a chance." I stare quietly questioning everything, G.A.T.S. has been around since well forever. They were around when superpowers began to emerge in the population. Mom used to work for them, Dad used to work for them before he died. (For those readers confused about my "dad" in the previous installments of my story he is my step-father) "What would G.A.T.S. want with me? I am not doing anything." I say defensively. "You hold the key to biological evolution Damian, your ability allows you access to not only teleportation but also if focused and used correctly potentially you could travel to another universe parallel to our own." I process what these words mean. "However for now we need to keep you here until their search squad stops looking." Before I can argue I feel the same dread take over my body as I fall to my knees and as I close my eyes hit the floor
