A Phone-y Surprise
Dani/Danielle
As I am taken from my chair I catch a glimpse of the stranger's face and I see what looks like pain and regret. The guards take me to a tall door that has a slit in it at the bottom, probably to slide food into without contact. They push me in with force and I fall to the ground, sliding a bit. They slam the door shut and I quickly get up and look around. It seems to be just four walls of concrete but I can sense that something is keeping my power away. I slowly look around and carefully scan the room and as I walk I can feel my powers getting stronger, but when I walk back to where I was, my powers are weaker. Must be some type of device instead of a person. After looking around some more and doing more tests I find nothing else and I sit down. How can I get out of this? I then hear a door open followed by footsteps, I listen and the steps I hear aren't consistent nor are they the same sound. One faster and lighter than the other, while the other was slower and heavier. I wait a few more minutes before I hear the footsteps approach my area. I prepare to defend myself only for the footsteps to move right past me. While surprised I continue to listen, hearing another door open. I hear yelling before a hard impact followed by the silencing of the shouts. The footsteps then resume and this time I hear sliding. I assume they are dragging the body and I stay silent. I waited a little while longer and the same door I heard earlier opened again only to be quickly shut. As I continue to try and think of a way out of here I remember the sounds and tests. The closer I am to the door the stronger my powers, and the door isn't too far from me. However, I don't know if there are guards nearby or if the guards are armed. So my best bet is to not sound any alarms and to not cause any destruction that would draw focus to me. I then walk towards the door of my cell and attempt to shrink to no avail. I then feel my phone buzz. I instantly check it and see that I got a notification from my app Planet H.E.R. I instantly got an idea only to see that I had no bars in the cell. In that moment an idea formed, one that wouldn't require leaving my cell or getting dragged to who knows where and all it would take is me making as much noise as possible. I drafted a text to Damian and my parents saying I got kidnapped and that I didn't know where I was. I sent it knowing that it would say not delivered, now all I had to do was get my phone taken away. Sounds like the saddest teen thing ever losing your phone but right now that would be the least of my concerns. I started kicking the door and shouting for what felt like hours. My lungs burned and my body was starting to get sore. Then I heard the door from earlier open, I stopped kicking the door but kept yelling until my cell was opened. A guard then stood before me, I then said without a hint of fear even though I was terrified that "I'm sorry for all the fuss, it's just that at least if you're going to keep me confined that you could give me WIFI and cell service." I then accentuated my movements to show off my phone only to have the phone snatched and me shoved back in my cell. I could only hope that the area of evidence lockup had enough bars to send my message. I then settled in and did my best to get comfy in the miserable cell, wishing that someone would receive my distress text.
