I sat in my cell and pondered on why I ever trusted this stranger. My parents always told me don't go off with a stranger and what do I do? Go off with a stranger. Maybe I deserve this, maybe I need to get my shit together, or maybe, I need to see Damian. That stranger said something about Damian having dark matter powers, and how G.A.T.S and some other company wants him. And this unnamed company wants to steal him away and make him a soldier, but what does G.A.T.S want with him? My thoughts were cut short as I heard a guard come up to my cell and push the cell door open. "Come here kiddo, you're wanted for questioning." the guard said. I got up and turned around and let him put cuffs around my wrists. He led me up to what I would assume is the interrogation room. As we got there he had to stop to find the keys to the room. I started looking around and I could see an emergency exit with a pure steel door by a silver button inside a glass box on the wall. On the glass it said "DO NOT PUSH!" knowing how some buildings work, this must be the emergency button. If only I could shape-shift into something small and undetected, I could press that button and escape to see Damian. The guard finally found the key to the room and lightly pushed me in. This room with a table and two chairs facing the other, and a big mirror wall reflecting the entire room. The guard led me to one of the chairs and chained my handcuffs to the table and left the room. I looked at the mirror and thought, if television has taught me anything, it's that someone is watching me behind that mirror. If I could just move my wrists and get out of these cuffs without being noticed...I moved into a different position, I sat criss-cross applesauce and relaxed my hands onto the table so that no one would suspect anything. I heard steps getting closer and closer. If I can fake being scared when they come in, I could move my hands out of the cuffs just a bit. The door slammed open and I jumped in my seat while moving my hands out of the cuffs a bit. The detective walked around me, dropped some files by my hands and she sat in the chair in front of me. "So miss..?" she said, waiting for me to finish for her. "Robin. My name is Robin." I said with an accent and higher-pitched voice. "So miss Robin, do you mind telling me the events that led up to this..." She gestured to the files. "mess." She looked up to me expecting an answer, My parents always told me, never trust the feds. I didn't listen to my parents once and look where that led me. I'm not making that mistake again. "Well, ya see." I started gesturing a lot more than I usually would to mask trying to slip these cuffs off. "My friend and I were heading back from the mall and we were sitting by that tree just talking away until this man came up. He saw us together and said we should kiss. We both looked at each other and laughed and my friend told the guy that we were just friends. But that guy said that there's no reason to not be together unless my friend was a... well I can't say the word but... a slur used for gay folks that starts with an f?" The detective looked surprised and said, "oh, I know what you mean. Continue." She started taking notes. "So they started fighting and things got way out of control." I finished. As I gestured when I said "way '' I felt the cuffs get loose enough to slip out. Now I just need to find my opening. "When you say way out of control you mean that boy stabbing the man?" the detective said with a hint of rudeness. "Well, I'm sure he didn't mean to, ma'am." I said. "Whether he meant to or not, he still did it. Which is what brings us here today." the detective leans in. "Witnesses at the scene state that you were not only involved in the fight," she pauses. "But started it." Shit. If I'm gonna get out of here, now is the best time to do so. I feel my body start to get ready for a big shift. I lean forward, getting closer to the detective, and say. "Well, what can I say? When I hear some trash talk shit about my friend, I will do whatever it takes to make them regret their life choices." as my last words leave my mouth I slip out of my cuffs and quickly change into a rhino. My new form crushes the table under me and traps the detective. I charge into the door and it busts open with ease. People who were just walking past were surprised and jumped out of my way. I pushed my body into the wall where that button was and I heard the door unlock. I run the opposite way to gain some momentum but while running I hear guards and detectives run towards me and tasers and darts fly my way. I dodge them as best as I can until I am cornered. The wall behind me and detectives and cops pushing in. "UN-SHIFT OR BE PUT DOWN!" one of the cops yelled. I hear a bang coming from the right of me and the cops and detectives look that way. While they are distracted I run towards them, running some of them down while others jumped out of the way. I run as fast as I can and hit the door. It busts out, no longer attached to anything. I turn the corner and start to shift into a falcon but something in my snaps and I feel a sharp pain under my wing as I change. I can tell that I'm not a falcon but a pigeon. God, I really need to practice this more. I fly towards the hospital but as I fly, I start to feel sleepy. My flying gets worse and I start to fall from the sky. I operated the ground hard and I ended up un-shifting. As I slide to a stop I see some familiar shoes in front of me. They bend down but before I can see their face, I close my eyes.
